When left-leaning (social democrat) parties fail, they vote for right-leaning (more libertarian) parties, which anyone with any idea about the political theory would know favour the ones who own capital (who have accumulated wealth under social democrats), so now they can accumulate more wealth from the workers. It's a never-ending cycle if it continues like this. Capitalism has become a religion that people don't question just like religious people don't question their personal deity.

Imagine what fear mongering shit the natives would've said when the settlers came. Or when the brits came to India...wait...its only unfair if one minority gets a place to themselves. Not like more than 80% of Canada is still white as hell.

Not only is it it impossible to live here, there are no resources unless the government gets something from it. As an indigenous child who grew up in foster care my whole life, there was no indigenous foster care homes for me to go to and therefore my culture has become traumatic for me. My OWN culture has major trauma related to it and my foster care agency would NOT help me unless I moved to the reservation after I aged out the THEIR system, which was not applicable because they were the ones who traumatized me. When I turned 19, I was expected to have it all figured out, I was not allowed to remain in my foster home afterwards without massive paper work and thank god my foster mom cared about me because without her, I would be on the streets with nothing but a garbage full of clothes. I moved out on my own with the help of that family and my agency said they would help with things if I asked. As of the economy now, I did ask them. I asked them for any help at all and my social worker LITERALLY ghosted me and stood me up, even at my plea for help. You would think this is just my case but there are hundreds of cases like mine with even worse endings and what Canada has done with this information is nothing. Foster Care in Canada for indigenous youth is the 2000’s way of Residential Schools and I am EXTREMELY lucky to NOT be homeless and dead. Many of my friends in similar situations are dead or homeless and I have no hope for Canada, it’s an extremely depressing reality.

I wanna live here. I just can't afford to. I'm 38 and live with my mum, which is also due to my health but i have lived alone many times. my whole disability cheque would not cover a one bedroom and it's very hard to find a studio, they're all taken. Trudeau isn't the problem. he's a symptom. these problems are happening all over the world. the corporations are grinding people to dust in every country, so that we can log forests and fill landfills, medicate people so they can be Functional enough to create value for a company. any Canada is great, but it, and the world as a whole, at the moment, kid of suck.

Not to mention the environmental impact building 500 000 new houses would cause. Here is another side to this argument no one has mentioned. Bringing in this many new people causes need for more everything, homes, schools, groceries stores, etc. In the last two years my town in the GTA has built more then 20 new apartment buildings and many townhouse complexes. They are building them in the small forested areas I used to play in as a kid, buying up farms outside of town to continue urban sprawl. And yet the government claims it cares for the environment? the mass destruction of nature says otherwise.

Indian here, I applied for a Canada PR and just missed the PR score cut off by a few points, I am from one of the top universities in India, have a computer science bachelors and masters in economics, I am opening my own tech startup here and would have loved to open it in Canada and drive Canada's GDP. \n\nBut you know who get the highest score for PR? Low skilled people who do fake degrees(which are so easy to get it is lame, by the way I can also do it, but it will spoil by education reputation). The immigration system of Canada is a joke, It treats all degrees, jobs and universities as equal. Best of all I was offered to pay $20k by someone to get a Canadian PR. Again I can pay that much but do I want to immigrate to a country whose citizenship is being sold this cheap?\n\nTrust me when I say it Canada is getting the most average and at times the worst people from India. Indian government though should thank Canada for taking all these low skilled people from India that send Canadian Dollars back to India. They take away the middle class jobs, housing, etc in Canada and worse for Canada send back money to India leading to pressure on Canadian currency and reserves.\n\nThe simplest solution is to halt whatever nonsense immigration policy Canada has and only allow three kinds of immigration, people who secure high paying jobs in recognised companies, entrepreneurs that get funding from investors Canadian government recognises and count university scores only from top tier universities. Finally make it super easy for these high skilled people and difficult for anyone else.

9:37 it's good to hear that you grew up in Germany. Maybe it was better before, but nowadays the DeutcheBahn is so unpredictable, with all the strikes etc. It became a meme. Previously the low cost airlines kinda was a choice, but these days the tax on flight deliberately increased by German government, and there are not much cheap flights left, better to cross the border and fly from there. Also I find it not fair to compare Germany and Canada as their areas are different. Definitely not to compare with Singapore.\nI heard that flight in Canada are very expensive, but if I would live in Vancouver I would prefer to go to Seattle over the border for a weekend rather than going to Toronto on the other side of the continent. Car option in Canada I assume is more affordable that Germany. The German gas price(for cars), or energy in general considered to be one of the most expensive in the World. Also the expenses to get a car license, people are just saying that it's easier and cheaper to fly over to USA get car driving license there and come back. In general with all the pros and cons, Canada seems better when compared to Germany, I saw several people left from Germany to Canada, and only 1 from Canada to Germany(his main reason was high property prices, and German were surprised because of such reason, the prices risen in Germany as well, except maybe for rural areas).\n\nAlso to make it fare when comparing Toronto better to compare it to Berlin, not just to any city in Germany. I think there will the same homelessness and drug issues in Berlin.

I'm born in the UK to Serbian parents, but grown up in Norway so I've seen three different cultures in my life all at once. I always liked Canada for being diverse because then I wouldn't have to switch between being English, Serbian or Norwegian, I could be more me because I am basically multicultural. For years I've idealised Canada and it wasn't until just two weeks ago that I got to visit and see for myself what Canada is like. I was in Toronto and also in Vancouver visiting a family that moved there from the UK I hadn't seen since I was a kid. I loved the nature (Especially Vancouver my god!) and the people, but I learned about how extremely expensive housing in Canada is to the point that it would be hard to make ends meet just renting a place let alone buying a house. Also how immigration is out of control and those who do come to Canada are disproportionately from one country being India rather than many different, which is not good for maintaining diversity. This is something I saw having lived most of my two weeks in Mississauga just south of the airport.\n\nI hope you guys finally get someone better in the next election, because I have more hopes for Canada than I do for the UK. 28-year-old Female Sydneysider from Australia here. Apologise in advance for the long post and rambling.\n\n\nNot sure if it is just me, so please correct me if I am wrong. Just probably now too overly 'realistically too cynical'. So please take my input with a grain of salt. 

For context’ sake, for most of my adulthood I have always been poor & I am born with special health needs (E.g. disabilities).
\n\n\nSometimes on forums we are often contrasted to Canada, for some reason. Both Canada and Australia have remarkably similar problems with a different coat of paint. Sydney, for instance, has always been high up in the list of the cities with the highest cost of living in the world. Usually within the top 10-20. 

COVID-19 obviously made this issue clearer in some circumstances because we couldn't 'work' at all. Unless you were an essential service worker, to mentally block out personal and local difficulties.\n\n\nWe still have not recovered from that 2–3 years global shutdown. The only reason I was allowed to work for a period was because I work for the animal industry and aid in animal welfare. 

I still lost my job due to COVID-19 regardless and knew I would never get a decent job again. Merely just the last poor sod on the boat to be thrown off. 

Could not become a vet nurse despite working very hard. Just because no one wants to give me '2-years permanent paid experience’ to be taken seriously. 

At the same time, way too many employers will happily take 2+ years of veterinary students volunteering at their vet clinic. With the vague promise of a permanent job.

Which, of course, never happens, then say we are being too demanding or spoilt for politely asking for said job.\n\n\nHow are we supposed to pay off our student debt if any financial service expects us to have a per meant job to pay anything off??

 No, they do not want to train nor help you. They just want free labour, then kick you out once your time is up. All my jobs have been casual, and my animal industry has already become heavily casual based ages ago. Permanent job is like looking for a magical unicorn.\n\n\nSo, even if you and your relatives lived in the way outer suburbs of Sydney for decades, being typically considered roughly lower-middle socio-economic families. 

The younger adults and kids all know and have been aware for years, they have no future at all due to having an inflated cost of living. Sugar-coating it, saying it might go in a positive direction, sounds like a blatant lie. We all know it is a lie.\n\n\nNowadays, in contrast to the late nineties and early 2000s when I was just a tiny naive kid that didn't know any better. There seems to be a more jarring split between the income brackets of what the country assumes who is poor, middle class or rich today.

We are considered 'poor' just because my parents do not earn roughly $50,000 — $150,000 AUD a year on their own in 2023. When something does not change within roughly 5–10 years, it is more than simply just valid for us to feel like we cannot fix what has been broken.

I went to what was considered the most multi cultural high school in north america. Had Greek, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Ukrainian, Polish friends - it was awesome! You introduced the elections and who one and the state of Canada now indicating your biased that all of our problems are takings to political reasons. People are easily swayed with words sometimes opinions should to given lightly with all factors and not just the ones the help your opinion seem correct. You should include historical events that started the housing crisis in Canada. Even your graph only showed a spike of immigration intake but only AFTER covid but you sway the conversation to think the intake was so different when even your graph shows it stayed the same till covid. Number of those facts would have been more convincing to strengthen your opinion. Numbers are nice but not when it's placed in again, places that help make your opinion correct. In that case, only one side of the story and most facts are hidden this way. I enjoy the pictures though, nice editing. Lots of videos makes it more engaging and not lose people's interest

Smh… Some peeps gotta talk apples when I’m talking oranges…as their rebuttal doesn’t quite respond in proper context to my statement. So let me be clear: the Aboriginal People have absolutely every single right to be disgruntled and complain if any nation is to do so especially after having been swindled and bamboozled out of their land and space and way of life. This is why if any nation/ group is expected to raise up and fuss and complain it’s the Natives/Indigenous People. The circumstances are not even remotely near the same here with Canadians today versus what the Aboriginals went through pre-European Canada. We don’t even need to go there. One of Canada's problems is that 90% of all their inhabitants live within 120 miles of the U.S. border, so most\nare seeking to buy homes in the same area, thus 'skyrocketing' prices! We must remember though, that the \nCanadian dollar is only worth $.75 American, so a $400k house would only be $300k in the U.S. & $3k rent would be\n$2,250. here! The biggest problem is that Canadians are woefully underpaid & should also demand a major tax break!

Truth is the immigrants were lied to. There is an economic crisis which make living cost unbarable even for middle class. There are no available dwellings/ appartments anywhere below $1500 per month. Poor immigrants comes here with no job and no place to live. But even if they find work, still have no dwelling they can afford. That is unless they pack 10 or 15 of them in a one bedroom place. If the newcomers would have known this about Canada, none would come. Exept on occasion, millionaire newcomer comes from time to time.

There are 2 sides of the story here. The guy was probably angry because he was being provoked. The applicants are are not allowed talk back or disrespect the decision of the consulate. The consulate are the ones who would decide if you will be given a visa or not. Applicants can always apply again once their application was refused. Nobody can film a consulate without a permission. I have to say that I am quite apalled to hear fellow Canadians being so openly racist--not to mention just plain ignorant. For any non-Canadians watching, let me assure you that the majority of us do not embrace or abide by these sentiments--we are for the most part a progressive, tolerant people who accept and, in many cases, welcome diversity and inclusion. We are, after all, a nation of immigrants--many of whom have escaped the oppression, injustice and intolerance that plague much of the undeveloped world--in pursuit of a better life. They bring their skills, hard work ethic and adaptability to a country that would wither on the vine without them. So, it's essential that we maintain meaningful and robust annual immigration rates to avoid the fates of countries like Japan, Italy, and South Korea: shrinking nations facing hopeless futures of economic decline and demographic collapse. We also need to maintain our pace with the behemoth to the south, or risk being utterly consumed by it. I hope and pray that most Canadians understand these basic truths--especially the younger ones. \n\nNow, I will admit that with regards to immigration and demographics there are always some logistical and pragmatic challenges that are part of any democratic, pluralistic society--of which we are, generally, a leader. And, sure, our government policies on immigration, employment, education, mental health, and housing need to be fine tuned to improve short and long term outcomes. But to place all of the blame on a single demographic slice of our overall makeup is simplistic, reductivist, dangerous and downright offensive. In a word, it is racist, pure and simple. Is that really who we are, and what we want to be? I hope not.

I came to Canada through skilled workers program back in 06. People in general were friendlier then. I really enjoyed the multiculturalism attending various events such as Taste of Danforth, etc. To me, if you come to a new country, you make an effort learning their culture and not abuse their system. Also, it would be difficult to adopt to Canadian culture and way of life if you bring in 1M immigrants in one year. They would just settle within their community and that's it. Can't wait for the next election.

Canada is a disaster. Trudeau and Sigh are a disaster. Crime is rampant. Home prices are astronomical at one and two million dollars. Florida has brand new nicer homes for 25% of the cost at $350k. Does Trudeau think that home builders are going to build and sell for 25% of current prices? Then all those Canadians that paid $1 and 2 million would all be bankrupt having a mortgage at $1 and 2 million. Immigrants couldn't care less about Canada, and want their neighbourhood to look just like the one they left in the other country. On one hand, they tell immigrants and students to come BUT… they have construction laws that are very stringent and inefficient (stupid zoning laws)! Don’t blame the newcomers for that… it is NOT a their fault!! It is the faults of the ones who decide and who should have anticipated this coming of new migrants (which Canada needs as who would ou our pensions anyway, eh?????)? In france where I come from, we also have immigrants but strangely, we do not have issues with excessive rents (except in some areas of Paris) not do we have any issues with congested healthcare!!! This is why so many many of your newcomers decide to leave Canada after a few years… You Canadians have this tendency to “idealize” Canada sooooo much and from that way if idealizing (and not being able to meet what you say or advertise) comes the deception of many and those many skilled migrants to say “bye bye .. no thank you” to Canada! I would agree\n Canada is on top. My favorite is the acceptance level. In America is a get down on your knees first mentality. It involves a lot of unnecessary proving of ones self before any type of approval can be gained and since the quality of it's people has declined so much this is very dangerous place to be a resident. Canada was very accepting of me. Nothing was expected of me other than I was another human being. Nobody was accusing me of being some type of criminal without cause and expecting me to get all sorts of caught off guard and wanting me to some how disprove the accusations thrust upon me. I don’t think there would have been a Brampton if majority of white Canadians were welcoming to brown people irrespective of their nationality. Integration is only possible if there is a willingness to interact with new immigrants. This is not to say that immigrants who commit crimes shouldn’t be booted. There is an inherent problem of selective racism based on the skin colour in the Canadian society which is felt by the new immigrants and is the only reason they find comfort in their own people and stay together. Also, government should put a cap on the number of immigrants from one country like the US has done.

Why aren’t the rich Muslim nations putting their money where their mouth is. Palestinians have been monetarily supported for 50 years by mostly US & German money…the west would gladly leave the area if someone else would put money n troops as peacekeepers, but they never will. It's funny on a Travel Group on Facebook. There was an Indian complaining that no one would talk to their family in Cancun.\nPeople were telling them they have to be more outgoing in smile more to engage other people and cultures a sudden instead of letting this person get away with their made-up racism in their head.\nI was on vacation I heard a young Indian couple talking but they were bragging and bragging about a low-level job and how they were going to get rid of employees and it was just a turn off to even listen too, because they're trying too hard to be relevant around people because they work at Wayfair ?!

One news says everyone is leaving Canada and no one wants to live here anymore. Another news says so many people want to come here desperately, especially international students, who would do anything to stay and make a living in this country. Same with USA, so many Americans are leaving the country too and yet the border is flooded with people more than ever.

Being an Indian myself I can testify that it isn’t the same west I had dreamt of. But the real problem is if there wasn’t immigration, Canada would’ve died anyway. Check stats for declining population in Canada. Moreover, immigration is not one of the games but the only game which is keeping Canada in G-7 nations. Look up for the GDP numbers. General sentiment and feelings don’t run shit, run some numbers and find the truth yourself.

I know its a two side issue (Indian and Canadian). But I would blame our present govt for letting so many international students from a specific country. They didn't even bother to estimate the demographics of people who they are letting in. When you are looking for multiculturalism then set a quota from each country rather then only from one country. And also must make sure they speak english or French and at the same time adapt to our rules and culture.
