They do this in non white countries too. All my life I have dealt with racism in the US. Every.... single.... day! My kids have to deal with it in 2019.... 2019!!!!!! I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

If you speak in a way that makes you sound less educated or of a lower class, then you are treated differently.\n\nTry sending in a white guy who is less clean-cut and less well-spoken and see the difference in the way he is treated. Have him act a bit nervous, look around a lot, or appear to be less than middle or upper class and see the difference in how he is treated. I guarantee he won't get good offers in those apartment buildings, if he gets any offers at all.\n\nA friend once told me a story about a friend of his who was very well off. This man went into an exclusive car dealership to look at a car on display. He didn't like to appear as well of as he was, so often wore simple jeans and t-shirt. growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -

Getting a visa or any form of legal residence in Canada is a pain in the ass, I know because I've tried. I was gonna move up there full time from Los Angeles at one point and I spent 10 full months applying and waiting and still got denied. I wasn't even a refugee either, they make you prove what you have to contribute to the country as far as skills and education and it's very difficult to get accepted

I still get followed(STALKED) in stores that I regularly spend a good amount of money in.. I can't stand it.. We had one of the grocery store staff asked by management, to run out and flag my cab because i had looked at a toy but ultimately decided not to buy it.. They assumed i stole that giant toy.. That I totally didn't end up buying with my $220 worth of groceries.. Ridiculous! I regularly spend my fair share!!

Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. well I am a Christian Canadian and I fear for my life because Islam is a political movement made to look like a religion and Islam believes in hating and killing anyone who is not Islamic and Canada is getting closer and closer to sharia law every time the law here excepts one of Islam's rules and all those people want to do is take over the world and Canada is rolling out the carpet and bowing down to Sharia law but I want to know is this still Canada or is it a Islamic State because it's starting to look like the latter to me.

I think Najabs are a great a fret a problem all over the world. The thing is you hear things about ISIS or hamas and you try to separate it and say that it only the extremists, when in fact the moderates still support it. when speaking to a muslim friends of mine i asked her if your book says killing is wrong then why is there so much of it in islam? to my dismay she said that as long as they're killing for her religion its ok and that she supports things like the charlie hebdo shootings. She claims to support freedom of speech, but in reality, only things that are not opposed to islam. tried telling her if you ant talk about something freely then it isn't freedom of speech but she couldnt comprehend that. its disappointing to see that even though they are not the ones directly in the terrorist groups, they still support what they do.

My experience in Canada has been largely positive, with only minimal racial difficulties.  As a teenager, I do recall some kids making blatantly racist comments, when I was the only minority in the room; but they were silly girls, popular and full of themselves, and most of the students who heard did not laugh with them. We all knew it was wrong.  Another time I was told, by an agent, that a potential employer claimed she would not hire me because of my race.  I did not hear these words firsthand, though, so it was impossible for me to verify the truth. In the end, I let the matter alone. Other people,  I realize, have endured severe injustices; such have not been my experience, but this does not subtract from their reality.  Indeed, racism does exist, and shall remain as long as there are imbeciles wallowing in the mire of ignorance, people who cling to an absurd sense of superiority for lack of something more meaningful to hold.  As well--and it must be said!--quite likely, we all have, at some point, entertained discriminatory thoughts. 'Tis not a 'black and white' problem but a human one, and we must be mindful of it beginning with ourselves.  Canada, then, with its many inhabitants and complex history, will never be the exception. We can't expect perfection among people, here or anywhere else in the world.  Even so,  I believe there are enough fellow Canadians who strive to treat people as individuals and are happy to make friends across cultures.  My life has been and continues to be a testament to that!  Whatever our troubles, we still retain a proud heritage of diversity and progressive ethnic harmony.  We do try, and for this reason I love my country.  I am deeply patriotic and immensely proud to be part of it!
