I live in Germany for about 6 years, moving from Bosnia and didnt have any of those problems mentioned, excluding the bureaucratic hurdels. Granted, i do speak German natively since ive spent my early childhood years here. To be fair i do think that learning the language of the nation you are moving to as fluently as possible should be a no brainer.\nWhat people arround the world need to understand is that European countries are NOT the USA. These are nations that exist for thousands of years with clear cultural parameters born out of centuries of strugle, war and hardship. These are strongly embeded into the minds of the people living here. The jist of it is that Europeans have known this for a long time, literally knowing ´´what the others are like´´. So its much easier to adapt. Of course it helps that most European countries have simmilar religious and social values.

10 years ago I had been called by my company to work in Germany. First discrimination I had was when a government worker told me in english that she does not speak english and if I want anything I should get a translator or learn german! Since then I have been many times facing similar discrimination even after I learned the language. The sacrifice I make is for my children as I want them to have opportunities for higher education and a larger spectrum of careers. One thing I must ask germans: ist es so schwer anderen zu helfen, ohne sie herabzusetzen?

There seems to be a proliferation of “international” schools who offer training in topics that could be easily be taught at home for cheaper. Why would you need to come to Canada to learn about the hospitality industry (or any other field of study for that matter).

I just see many illegal immigrants wanting to live in the US but not be part of it like learning the language and american customs. That makes me feel that my sympathy is being taken advantage of.

i'm happy there are people here who agree, but having your voice heard only as a youtube comment is not the answer. do you know how countries in europe managed to get ahead in healthcare? patients went to the press with recorded videos about their experience. and yes, initially the journalists dismissed this as non news, but it only needed one to go with it. and it made waves. now a 2hr wait in the ER in europe is met by the tv crew. \ncanadians refuse to do it. when i came to canada 25 years ago a 2hr wait was normal. now it's 9hrs and still no discontent voices. no politician is running on healthcare, but on cutting taxes and on giving back a few hundred dollars a year back to the families. and most are eating it up! \nbecause healthcare is public, doctors and their union have 0 incentive of allowing more professionals into the system, because they all share the same pie. there are families who do not have a family doctor and are forced to use clinics, even with newborn babies. my family doctor works a regular job, doesn't answer the phone after 3:30 (even though they are open until 4), has 2-half days (one is a golf day btw) and overall couldn't give a F about patients. on that high salary in any other industry, you'd be on call 24/7. \nand then there's housing, jobs, the education system is a mess - more and more people are worried about what these kids are learning and there is 0 incentive from any of the politicians to address the issue.\nand, of course, there is forced immigration. when we came it used to be a merit system, you had to bring in money to prove you won't be a burden to welfare for at least a year. it's definitely not the case now. \npeople look at PP as some kind of saviour, but he's not going to fix anything. usually conservatives are good for corporations, whilst liberals balance their policies with the needs of the common folk. how far they've fallen.

There is no handbook given to the new comers when they move here, i know most of these values are basic common sense, good etiquettes and morals, and being a good member of the society. Canadian Citizenship is handed out far too freely . If they want to come to Canada , welcome , BUT it should take 8 years to qualify to EARN Citizenship . Merit Points Earned , be taking after hour studies in Canadian History , Politics , and learning either or both of the founding languages French or English . I came in Germany five years ago, learned the language perfectly, finished my Masters after dealing with unbelievable stress with Ausländeramt, got a job finally in a IT field, will receive my unlimited residence soon, and im looking forward to live in another country in Europe or in the world. In the rich area where I live, Mexicans do all the hard manual labor that no one else would do. They're probably mostly illegal, and a great deal. The only criminals around here are the spoiled white kids and derilect old white guys who never bothered to learn a trade or go to school.

As an International student, though I moved to Canada a decade ago initially to look for a deeper meaning in life, I still kinda felt being scammed by the Government for spending a huge sums of tuition to end up with a useless diploma which leads to unemployment . I have contributed soooo much ?for Canadian economy for the past 11 years( actually my parents paid everything), but still neither me nor my family have received any benefits from this country so far. I don’t even have a family doctor, and my family don’t even want to come here so it’s just me alone! Still, I remind myself everyday that I ‘m not here to have a comfortable life , but to grow and to learn❤. I am a Documented Legal Alien and married to an American citizen. I choose at this time to not apply for my citizenship as i dont want to have to apply to my own country of birth to enter again should i need to visit relatives there. However i have lived happily now for 20 years in the USA and have never looked back. We did our immigration LEGALLY and as much as i dislike D Trump. I do agree that undocumented Aliens who live here and married to an American' should not be here. We have the same issue in the United Kingdom and its far harder to deal with there, and there is an Ocean surrounding it.
