After moving through 7 apartments found the place to buy. Very cheap. 2004. 3. Than sold that place and bought the bigger one. Second child was born. 2007. 4. Suck it up and go through... Anyways... Today, 2023, it is a good house. No debt. A little mortgage left. Three vehicles. Retirement plans. STAY HERE! Work hard! This is the best country on earth!

Must say that was a fair and candid view of life in Canada nowadays. As I near retirement, we're considering all options. It's a big world out there but like you implied, no place is perfect so we just need to make the right decisions based on our own different circumstances. Well done.

Immigration is simply too high at the moment. It's a small country in a big space. Our infrastructure did not keep up with growth for the last 20 years. This is obviously federal policy issues over the last few decades. I don't blame people for coming here, it's nice. That being said... Too many people have come here too quickly. Canada needs time to catch up.

Nice content, loved your English. As an immigrant myself and being Asian living in Canada, I literally didn’t have any big dreams when I decided to move to Canada. But only expectation I had was people would be more friendly, educated and so on, and I didn’t noticed that much about(i won’t like to call it racism) but the way local see and behave the other different countries people but now after living here for couple of years I can so easily see how the local treat you, behave you. That’s my biggest disappointment. It might be just my prospective or the phase that im going through and so on. But just wanted to share. Again i know I’m not the first or only person who felt it. And yes I know the local very closely too and how and why they feel that. Some of the immigrants aren’t respecting the rules, tradition or so on here. My neighborhood had a big influx of immigrants moving in and I can see the difference they brought, they never cut grass, leave garbage out on lawn, they use the creeks as their own waste dump they give off looks at you like you're a problem in your own country, they stare in a very creepy manor at women, I had one stand at the end of my driveway and film my house, like just weird shit all the time. Not to mention there always seems to be like 12 of them living in a basment apartment, half probably cant speak english or even have a legit reason to be in Canada, then you see them bagging for money and its like why are they even here if you cant afford to live here? \nImmigration at this point is an insult to Canadians and to the ones who legally immigrated and wanted to be apart of canadian culture.

well I sure would not recommend to come to Canada or less you a doctor ! I settled here about 30 years ago and the opportunities where a LOT different then specially around housing. My family is still in France and for example you can still rent a 3 bd apartment close to a big city for 700 Euros that's about a third of what you would pay here !!

I'm leaving because I want to start a family and Canadian women are giant zeros for starting families. I have dated too many women in this country, it's crazy, I never thought I'd be that guy but I cannot find a decent woman I'd marry here. 50% of the women are infertile or have uterus problems. 35% are on SSRI's or psyche meds. I'm only dating fit decent looking women, and the pool here isn't that big because so many women are obese and refuse to exercise or eat properly. The weather is terrible too. The politics are awful too. It's become so expensive. The tax money is wasted, you get very little value for your taxes. Canada feels like a slave colony that they stuff gullible immigrants into, and hope they can trap them.

There is NO DREAM in Canada. The doctors, electrical engineers, and financial professionals have Big waste of time here. A very well experienced Doctor from say India has got way more practical experience and surgery. What all they need time is to get some system training. A Dentist, ophthalmologist, heart surgeons, orthopedic and so on with small training they can be easily absorb in the system after thorough check on skills.

I'll spell this out very plainly so anyone can understand. The economy in Canada is completely crippled for 2 reasons. Lack of social housing built by the government for decades, and greedy REITS and multi property owners squeezing every penny out of Canadians they can AKA late stage capitalism. If there was social housing, a house wouldn't cost 700k on the national average, and there wouldn't be such a big market for the REITS and landlords to gobble up every house. There would be more to go around creating less of a tight grip like they have now.

Even within Canada, qualifications are not recognized in Quebec. My power engineering 3rd Class certification is only 4th Class in Quebec, so of course foreigners aren't treated any better. It's not a big issue in Western Canada because almost nobody wants to move to Quebec anyways.

You don’t need to leave Canada. There are affordable life outside the big cities with much higher quality of life. The government should discourage immigration to big cities

Cosmopolitan Toronto or Vancouver or Montreal is different from The Rest of Canada. Living in the ROC is another experience. Canada is big geographically.. People can interpret life differently just based on this different geography.

Toronto has never defined the identity of Canada but Asia ( China, India ) . Same for VAncouver .. Ontario and BC have the 10 most dangerous cities in CAnada ( Statistics Canada, most dangerous cities) . # 1 Vancouver ( Surrey) , since Toronto has a big ego and includes cities as far as 130 km away , Toronto has the most high crime cities in CAnada , HAmilton, Brampton , London, Ste-CAtherines, Oshawa, Missisauga .... I'm from Asia and recently moved to Canada with my family to live a slower-paced and safer life. I've seen firsthand that the drug problem here is worse than it was back home, and they're being coddled with no plans to discipline or rehabilitate them. I asked my friends how I could defend myself and my family if a random drug addict broke into our house and stole our belongings; could I at least beat that person up until the police arrived? They said you couldn't because you'd be charged with assault. It's funny. \n\nApart from the crimes and exorbitant living costs despite living in a rural area, even Canadians who have lived in the country since birth are struggling to make ends meet. \n\nSome positive comments, Canada provided me with a work-life balance that was not possible in Asia due to the competitive nature of the corporate world. So I had time to spend with my family, and you don't have to travel abroad to see beautiful scenery. Canadians are also very accommodating and friendly, in contrast to where I came from, where people will not help unless it benefits them as well. The Canadians here are extremely friendly. So Canada is great because of its people, but I can tell you that the government consistently makes bad decisions about how to solve certain problems, such as drugs and harm reduction strategies. Another issue is that they do not recognize internationally trained professionals, which could have helped alleviate healthcare issues in our area, where we have many internationally trained nurses from the Philippines working as restaurant servers and janitors. We have doctors from Kenya who have to work as general laborers and in other odd jobs where they can use their profession and experience to help people. I am also an immigrant, but the government should strategically distribute us based on our qualifications. I chose a rural area because I don't want to add to the number of immigrants in big cities and instead want to contribute to the local economy by bringing my skills and experience to the pool. \n\nCanada is a wonderful country, and I continue to believe so, but the government must reward and do more for its people who are trying their best to make this country great.

I’m sorry, but that is really disgusting. We do not need more immigrants. Our infrastructure and medical system is already burdened. Not to mention the government often pays for everything for them for the first year so they think they’ve got it good and suddenly when they can’t get a job, because Canada may not recognize their degrees, then they are struggling again. And sadly, if they are Muslim, sometimes they just don’t want to integrate they just want to live their own ways here, but have a better life in our country, and that’s not fair to us. That’s just my big overview and don’t get me wrong in every day life, I have some friends who are Muslim.

Open opportunities for big companies to come to Canada and offer more jobs that are just slightly above minimum wage.

It’s been 5 years for me here and I honestly can say I have achieved nothing in my life yet. It scares me when I think I can’t return whatever my parents had invested in me. The fact is you’ll never have a good paying job in Canada being an immigrant. When I say this trust me I mean it. Most you’ll get is a minimum wage job which can make you survive the life here. Taxes are high definitely and what I feel is you’re working to make someone else’s life easier. \n(P.S: people who’ve stayed in Canada will understand who I’m implying to)\nNo one wants to be your freind, scope of socializing is zero coz mostly it’s cold round the year so everyone hardly come out, especially in Northern provinces like Yukon, Saskatchewan, Manitoba.\nHealthcare is a joke. If you feel sick and not well and you wanna see a doctor be prepared to wait for hours and hours. I once had stomach infection and I had to wait 5 hours till someone could see me. Credentialing of the educational status of the immigrants is a very big challenge. Domestic management in terms of housing and inflation moderation is unfortunately is currently not proficient enough to facilitate immigration which is a big problem since Canada relies heavily on immigration. I’m not a conservative or a rightist in any sense of the word but I agree with their belief that Trudeau is not effective enough for Canada.

Big oversight here. Immigration credential fraud was/is a big reason many immigrants have had to re-educate in Canada. The cheats/bad eggs in the past who bought their diplomas or forged their credentials had destroyed a very welcoming country, hence the reason for this in the first place.\nAlso, asking Canadians to send out welcoming committees to new arrivals is another great way to irk Canadians who have always been way more friendly and opening than most.

This liberal government is so out of touch its rediculous. You are true man. I lived in Europe and the first month I landed there, I knew that I will never be able to set big goals and achieve them. When I decided to move in Canada, everything changed. having citizenship seems normal, but thinking about Europe (Italy) where i had to wake up at 4 AM to be able to find a spot in the line to renew my documents, I only had to worry about my personal growth. Nowadays, thank you my Lord I am a M. I do not want to say it, but it is true. IO am ready to set new goals. Thank you Canada for what you gave me through my own efforts. To go to university with my own money, to buy a house around the same time, to be able to have my son in a prestigious school, for all this I thank you. But this doesn't mean that I don't see big issues around me. I do see them and also, I see nothing to solve something. So, four more years Canada. That's it. I have enough.

Canada is a vast country, but all immigrants want to live in the big cities, where housing is the most expensive and the climate is most termperate. I think the rising cost of city housing is in part due to immigration. We have many, many, many smaller towns and cities that need the medical, technical and manufacturing experience of immigrants, but no one wants to go there. I think the government needs to make these places more attractive to immigrants to help build these communities.

Canada should be considered as bypass country, get Citizenship and leave to USA. Canada is third world country in hide of First world country. No savings, high expenses, low salary standards, less opportunities, very few corporate culture & few big firms, highest depression in developed world, worst weather, poor government, less progress & development. Multicultural = Failed. Here is why (in my opinion) there is no reason to move in any big cities in Canada, and in Canada in general. \n1. Insanely expensive housing with next to none disposable income left in the pocket. \n2. Inability to get into the real estate market unless $$$ was brought in as an investment. This will leave locals and people who were born in Canada left out for good even further. \n3. Extremely competitive job market. Newcomers will have to suffer for a long time to break-in. \n4. Depression and drug addiction is everywhere. It's more deadly than covid but the government can't address the problem because they lose control for good. \n5. Canada is far away from many other places, which makes things worse as you feel trapped in a workcamp with no place to escape. \n6. The cost of living is getting much faster with the salaries significantly behind year after year. \n7. Canada became the country of failed government, failed multiculturalism, too tolerant as a result. \n8. Retirement in Canada will be impossible for 95% unless you agree to live in the middle of the nowhere until depression kills you. \n9. Many who came to Canada 25+ years ago and still around felt trapped. Canada's source of immigration will likely be the poorest communities who will agree to put up with everything listed above just to get out of where they live right now. \n10. Sad, but true. I have seen a steady decline in Canada since 1998. Things get worse every year.

I don't get why so many indians think foreign countries can change their lives. You are an average student soo instead of hustling in India by doing fresher jobs, you go to Canada for expensive education from dubious colleges in hopes of getting a job ?\nI say that if you are talented you can make big in foreign countries but if you know you are an average Joe then you are just wasting money and time in Canada. It would be less torturous for you to just hustle in entry level sales job in India than going to Canada.
