I am in Canada for 17 years and I love this country. It literally saved my life. Although I have to admit that it is a matter of surviving nowadays. My husband is a senior piping designer and he can't find a job for more than a year and was on and off the job for last 6 years. I am an internationally trained doctor and I can't find anything for myself. I can't afford pursuing my profession as it's too expensive and takes years with no certainty thag you will even get into industry. So I'm looking for all other jobs. But I'm either overqualified or don't have Canadian experience. So we have money just for a few months to survive... With 2 kids it's even more stressful... We barely can afford our rent... And we can't go back home as we left it so many years ago, no connections for job there too. So we really just pray everyday...

Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world.\n\n\nTheir are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia.

Canada is a country full of homeless people, mental illness, and drug addicts who destroy businesses and homes. Does not matter banks, restaurants, and laundromats. Many many many many people are leaving Canada in the thousands. No one left to take care of old people in Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pierre Piolevre needs to address these problems.

The migrant crisis will continue to worsen, because the countries that these folks are leaving realise if they treat them like ? they will eventually leave making their own countries more prosperous and putting the burden on others. These countries with poor human rights are just laughing at the rest of the world taking in their strays, but sadly nothing is done to stop them, because the world is too woke and their are so many people / solicitors saying you can’t do that.

I got a job offer from a Canadian IT farm but upon realizing the current situation I've decided not to move there. And every day i see news about the 'Canadian Dream' I appreciate myself for not taking the risk!\nCanada is not a dream country anymore many admired few years ago.

The funny part about this whole thing is none of the neighbouring states want to take in the Palestinians. This has been said on many different news medias including Al Jazeera. I just asked myself why? Why aren’t they taking anyone in like the millions that were taken in by Europe and the rest of the world over the years. Such countries like Britain, France, Germany,Italy, Canada and Sweden just to name a few.

I'm a Brit who has lived here 13 years and my advice to any Brit thinking of moving here is not to. If you can live in a nice county and you have a decent job you are better off in the UK. There is a lot of decline in urban areas here, tweaking drug addicts and tent encampments the likes the UK has NEVER seen. It's incredibly expensive to rent if you want to live anywhere remotely interesting. The infrastructure is so bad, unless you have a vehicle or lots of money to keep flying, you will feel incredibly isolated here. Brits are lucky to have such a great network of public transport and close proximity to Europe and all the cheap flights to get you around there. The work life balance is not as good as the UK. Most jobs here will start you on 2 weeks a year and only increase as your service grows. So after 5 years of service you will get 3 weeks and so on. Don't expect 5 weeks vacation until you have put 20 years in with most jobs. Canada is boring, it really is and so are most Canadians who also seem to have no idea what a sense of humour is. I have found new immigrants to be the friendliest, especially those from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now to the wokeness of the place, oh gosh, it's so bad. The Alberta premier has just announced very sensible and much needed gender reforms which 95% of Canadians agree with. These reforms will protect young gay kids mostly. The left have completely lost their mind over this. Women here are in genuine fear of speaking out regarding their privacy and rights to single sex spaces and sports. In the UK , this is slowly improving I believe. I'm putting things in place so I can leave. I hope things improve once the liberal government are gone but it will take many years to get this country back on track.

Before opportunities was great. Now the Punjab immigrants harass others for opportunities. What's the point. I hear a lot of stories of the attitude of Punjab immigrants.being lithuainin I was friends with many.\nMy wife would say they would take pictures of her at the parking lot. And run away. Canada is becoming worse every day anyway!!! Salary are low (while cost of living is skyrocketing), which is why we have so many Canadians and immigrants who are becoming so anxious, depressed and facing all sorts of mental problems), people are moody, quality of life is decreasing and transport is trash compared to France and the lack for doctors is making this country look like a third world\nEconomy!!! I was born in bangladesh and lived 18 years of my life there, then I moved to The us which is where I went to university and spent the next 7 years of my life. Then in 2004 I moved to canada and spent the next 13 years there before finally moving to oceania. Let me tell you why I left canada, in the later years there I was noticing how much I was being treated like an immigrant yes I am an immigrant but living 13 years of your life in the country and not being treated like a citizen but new people come into the country brand new and are treated more like citizens then you are hurts a lot. When I was new in canada I felt much more welcome by my coworkers and the citizens then I did after living there for so many years. But there's two more major reasons I left canada and these reasons are just as big as to why. In vancouver where I lived, the homeless crisis as you may know about was getting out of hand, it was a major problem even when I first settled in vancouver but now people were scared to even go the store as mentally ill homeless people were terrorizing everyone. And the last reason to top it all off was that the prices for everything in vancouver were simply ludicrous, It was insane how high the prices went up and taking care of my family was a struggle. I moved in 2017 and never once looked back, where I am now everyone and everything is sane and it hurt to leave canada at first because of how long I lived there and the memories I had there but let me be very clear I do not regret leaving canada.

Well, Indians just want to take from a system they has no inputs in building over decades...good jobs, PR, social services environment etc. Many are not even real students and simply wish to migrate and bring their entire village. And they do that not just in Canada, but almost all developed western countries. Even in countries like Singapore and UAE. Even their companies hire mostly from India.

Trudeau's politics over the last 7 years is why Canada is the most sought after destination for migration.\nNothing has changed, only that Canada must stop taking in so many students and migrants.\n\nAlso, unlike India, Canada doesn't have a fascist dictatorship running the system and media !

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

For those who are compassionate for some of the individuals entering this country illegally. Take into consideration we are a great powerful country, because of that, we have many enemies. We can not have an open border.

Perhaps I will not name the most popular destination for relocation, but I suggest coming to Russia, there are many positive reasons for this (I take Moscow as an example):\n1) Affordable housing with reasonable prices. In December 2023, I was hospitalized with double pneumonia, and I didn’t pay a single ruble for treatment.\n4) Security. You can calmly walk around Moscow at night and not be afraid of anything. There are cameras everywhere in Moscow, on shops, on poles, and video recorders on cars. On a personal note, no one cares what color you are, as long as you are a person who lives within the law as a peaceful citizen. If you act like an asshole, behave inappropriately, use insulting words towards other people, you will feel it quickly. In general, if you are a good person, you can forget about this word.\n6) If you receive a residence permit, education for your children is free. Our state generally cares excessively about children. And I still remembered! Summer holidays for children are 3 months, so where should they go? Summer camp, give mom and dad a break from your nasty whims))\nIf you want to send them to the Black Sea, if you want to send them to Altai to a health center, you can send them to a city camp (They brought the child in the morning and took them away in the evening). Previously, I was constantly sent to the black sea on a permit that was given to my father at work (Shipyard). Now this is only possible in special cases.\n\n7) Vacations. So many people. Go fight your country government instead and take power. Democrat agents in mexico are the one spreading to these citizen that they should come into america through texas and they will get free jobs, free housing and more promised by the democrat government if they come. I got a relative in mexico that hears about these talks happening and that people coming from the south are fed information by our own government to come into america for free stuff. Of course any 3rd world country would love an opportunity for something free which is why they mass such a overwhelmingly numbers into our borders. they dont just appear out of nowhere.

Many people who have commented with negative sentiments are not really aware how it's elsewhere especially in poor countries. If someone is looking a basic life, definitely you can manage a job , basic amenities and lot of safety. If someone is looking good quality life with decent savings , that's possible provided if he or she take additional degree and start working in intermediate roles regardless of the business. Having certain specific religious background could help since this society gives lot of importance to your religious background, whether you believe it or not. Canada should take its share, we have too many migrants here in the States

The Palestinians want their land back and many are resolved to fight for it. This causes Israel to act like a jailor to control them. They would like to rid themselves of the problem and have someone else be responsible. No Arab countries want to take on that responsibility.

It’s shocking how many people are falling for this speech. He completely sidestepped the question which is why won’t you take the refugees? The answer is simple. It’s because they don’t want them. They don’t want anything to do with them. They don’t wanna have to deal with supporting them. Instead of saying that, he’s making it sound like an act of heroism where he’s standing up for them. There are many people who don’t want to be in Palestine but they’re stuck.

Came to Canada from Kuwait looking for a better future. Big mistake, shouldn't have flapped my gums at work, i had a decent banking job with a career and a future. Now im stuck driving a effin truck with a bachelors degree to make slightly above average with 0 appreciation from the public, and a middle finger to say thank you for my 70 hour work weeks. I see my bed once every 3 days. I sleep next to rats and roaches in truck by the ports. Belittled by port workers and customs agents. Barked at by everyone down to a forklift driver. Looked at as lesser of a human because of the colour of my skin. What a horrible life :( My sister has already left and she was a dentist in Toronto. My mom went back ages ago. My dad is the only one wanting to stay to take care of his elderly patients, many rely on him. All i do is pay taxes and hide my money in the business, what a corrupt and horrible financial system.

You don’t have to give any reasons for leaving, just do it! I’m sure no Canadian will try to stop you. You should encourage many other Muslims to go with you. Maybe you can go fight and help free Palestine, put your money where your cap is. I think it is a marvelous, wonderful ides, hopefully you can start a Caravan of other Muslims to go with you, and they can join you in this utopia you have created in your mind of this place where you are going. I’m sure Canada was perfectly fine before your great great grandparent, grandparents, or Parents decided that a Muslim country was not where they wanted to be, and what was best for them and their families, and fled from it. Fact is, even if they wanted to leave, the neighboring nations would not take them. Nor do they accept any other refugees. That's why so many Muslims come to Christian nations in Europe and co. Irony or Intension. Sad for those in need of a safe place that it is so hard to find and your so called Brothers reject you. I work with refugees...I know what I am talking about. ?

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

Immigration Should NOT take precedent over Canadians living in Poverty, many homeless due to outrageous Rents .

One has to assume that we have smart people behind the scenes that have been looking at this issues at length. They have either warned the government, and they ignored it, or there is something else at work. Perhaps the government KNOWS they will cause a housing crisis, and it's BY DESIGN!!! How many politicians out there own, or rent out their properties to gain income. This inflation will REALLY help their portfolio $$$. They are taking advantage of the crisis! If you spin it that way, their decisions all make sense. They do not care about Canadians at all, they only care about the already wealthy, protecting, or even gaining from the high inflation the KNEW WAS COMING. You have all been duped, and all politicians are in on it (red, blue, yellow and green!)

It's inhumane to bring more immigrants and not take care of them. The system can't take this many immigrants. It's affecting canadians and new arrivals and makes it a overall net negative for everyone.

I’m a born Canadian and Canada was once the envy of the world. Cost of living was decent and plenty of good paying jobs. I couldn’t imagine being an immigrant here now. Cost of living is skyrocketing and our government does nothing about it. We are taxed so high and get little in return for the high taxes. Though our healthcare system is free and We do have state of the art facilities and skilled doctors it takes forever to get treated due to high wait times and staff shortages. There are many people immigrating to Canada with high education and experience but Canada does not allow them to practice here because they were not educated here. They are forced to take lower paying jobs. Many young people are leaving because it just too expensive to live here and the political climate is not what it used to be. Growing old here is very difficult unless you have support from family or have a large enough pension account to live in a retirement community

Canada is no longer Canada. Canadiens are almost a minority in there own country. We have very large cities that we are a minority in. There is so much hate towards white people. FUK TRUDEAU. there is a major housing crisis because we have to many immigrants in a short period of time. The immigrants barley speak English if any at all and are taking over the schools.They are causing the crime rate to rise substantially. Canada is no longer a great country to live.

You want to believe it , to MENY international people , we’re being taking over !their buying up every place and rents are gone up Doubled , I my self , my friends , my family, we have no where to live , I’m took a never brake down be cause I’ve been homeless for 6 months , living with family, because rents have doubled , I’m middle aged ,lived here my whole life ,any many many others like me retired and can’t find a place to live ! What the heck is going to happen, it’s not all students, unless their bring all their generations of families with them ! It’s not only students , tell the truth , like I said unless there bring their generation of families with them , a lot of people are out raged where are government has our country .

While this is a great thing in general...\nIt doesn't benefit the country or the immigrants when things like housing and jobs and health care aren't in place to support this influx of people. \n\nThe thing is...Canada REFUSES to fix its own problems on its own. If the excuse is don't do this because of health care then when will the right time be? Canada's health care has been at dangerous levels for OVER 30 YEARS! Always working at or near peak with long wait times. Maybe in 30 more years this will be fixed?\n\nHousing is a problem because no one builds affordable housing. The system is fully corrupt. When you hear that 500k houses have been built...then odds are 99% of those were NOT affordable housing. Meanwhile well over 50% of Canadians REQUIRE affordable housing. So how many more years will it take to fix this problem when we're not even trying to address it?

Amazing you can comment on a CBC news YouTube channel.. you cannot blame the huge influx of immagrants on just students coming here to learn... The federal government needs NEEDS NEEDS to shut down the flow of people coming here from everywhere.. we as a country cannot handle the sheer ammount that they want to bring in.. these people are brough here in the expectance of paying taxes.. but how many are getting their education and leaving for greener pastures? Why would this be any different than what Canadian students do after they are finished with their education.. How may of the immagrants that are coming here that the government expects to pay taxes are actually taking money from the welfare system because there are no jobs for them.. im gonna say that taht number is huge maybe more tahn 60 percent.. Way too many! My daughter can't get into classes at university because they are all filled with immigrants with visas. It impacts everything, housing, hospitals, traffic, etc. Take a break will ya!
