There are a lot of decent countries that speak the same language and have very similar cultures between Venezuela and the US. It would make starting your life over so much easier so that really begs the question why are they making that dangerous journey to the US? Seems really odd to me. Almost like there's something else going on.

I would not pay anything for the trip. This is a US decision. They did not ask if other countries would accept the cost of it, or would take the transportation by their own.\nUSA is showing abusive again. !!!!!

I wonder what would happen if another country's border was swarmed? I don't think they'd be any survivors to talk about it!

The audacity. This isn't their country. I can't imagine trying to force my way into another country. I would expect to be shot or imprisoned .

I have a lot of sympathy for these people, especially considering many gave up everything they had to pay smugglers to get this far while our government was effectively letting everyone in while offering additional incentives such as money and temporary housing. That said, if we don't have borders we don't have a country. Add on the massive welfare state that they will all become burdens on, either immediately or eventually, and it becomes clear to anyone with a little bit knowledge and common sense that the policies of the Biden administration that allowed things to get this bad, if not stopped immediately, would mean the end of the middle class, the further impoverishment of the lower class and massive benefits for the wealthiest among us. And when I say wealthy I'm not talking about the guy making 7 figures. I mean those who control billions, either directly or indirectly. You know, the same people who have the power to influence political parties to enact such policies and push narratives by the corporate media that state anyone who questions the policy is racist, greedy, heartless, or xenophobic.

It's going to get to the point where there's going to be nothing but military at the borders because these people are out of their f****** minds. But they thought they would bum rush and guess what, they were stopped. Go home fix your own f****** country. Don't come here and don't bring your cucarachas with. you. No Venezuela. Guatemala

In other countries they would consider this an invasion and deal with VERY differently…..just ask the several hundred migrants who were attempting to get into YEMEN illegally. Oh, wait a second, you wouldn’t be able to….they’re no longer with us.

I am a newfoundlander known across the country as a NEWFIE. You ask would i give up by birthplace to move to the USA? I wouldn't consider moving to anywhere in Canada let alone move to the USA. We have health insurance which is taken care of by government, we have Dental care that's taken care of by government we have Starbucks, Tim Horton's, and all the other goodies you mentioned here or you think are goodies. We have very nice people and everyone is willing to help and not stab the neighbour in the back. We have some of the best that nature has to offer. Move? Not bloody likely.

I can’t find the proper words to describe how I’m feeling about the life in Canada! I feel extremely disappointed and angry. EVERYTHING has changed since the early 80s unrecognizably, even the service and how different people treat or mistreat each other!! There is no more courtesy, politeness and human respect in hospitals, government offices, banks, etc. \nThe elected government officials are mostly corrupt, unfit for their duties and pursue only a personal agendas in promotion to a higher level! \nRight now, as of January 2025 we are again expecting endless flows of refugees from Gaza along to anticipated tax increases imposed by Trump. \nI have no more words! I feel that this country becoming a dump with an unbearable quality of life. I am feeling mostly depressed and feel no joy due to current conditions and limited opportunities here. I simple cannot even stand it any more and can’t wait when I would be able to find a new place of my residence outside of Canada!

As far as healthcare goes the US is a 3rd world country, where, only the rich can afford to see a doctor, or visit a hospital. You have thousands of people living on the streets, with NO help, or concern. America is no different than Bangladesh, or Ethiopia, for having a part of your society living on the street, begging for food, or money. When the US starts caring for ALL of it's people, regardless of skin color, race, or background, and give them a hand up, like most CIVILIZED societies do, you'll always be a 3rd world country. America had a chance to elect a president that would have turned America into a first world power with Kamala Harris, and Tim Waiz, but, you blew it, you re-elected the worst president, EVER with trump, who will finish the job of ruining America, and make it totally poverty-stricken. WOW, you'd think Americans are all millionaires, the way they turned out, for trump! Did NONE of you listen to what Kamala was offering? Because this half blind, mostly deaf old Canadian heard every word, her promise of a bottom-up building more opportunities for poor, and working class families, new taxes on the rich, and corporations to pay for it. Kamala offered a GREAT deal, a more secure future, more OPPORTUNITIES,,,,, And you all turned her down. You voted for a stalker and rapist, a traitor, and criminal, with multiple convictions, a liar, and cheat, trump. I guess you get what you deserve.

Trump voters are to ignorant to understand that the billionaire class and their control over our politicians including Trump is why everything is expensive now. They would rather blame immigrants and that’s never going to solve the problems that we face as a country. We will just waste more money and 4 years from now everything will be even more expensive, the gap between the rich and the poor will have grown and Trump will be laughing all the way to the bank.

This showed that Trump is not playing with these people or the presidents. The fact the 2 aircraft took those immigrants to Colombia and were refused landing, is retarded. Then instead of letting the planes land drop off the criminals and leave. They didn't let the US planes land. They said they would send their own country's planes to pick up the criminals. What Trump should do is charge Columbia for the fuel the US military used, and charge them for the US pilots' time. Double time and a half pay for waisting the US time and a waisted flight.

I believe that the relationship between a Country and its citizens is much the same as a parents duty to their child. Governments have a DUTY to care for the safety and well being of their citizens. I would like to see a UN declaration stating that governments must accept their citizens back into their borders. And that the home country must reimburse all those governments and organizations that fed, clothed, transported, sheltered and rendered medical aide to their citizens. NO COUNTRY must be allowed to dump their citizens like trash at the side of the road. These are THEIR CITIZENS..IT IS THE HOME COUNTRY'S DUTY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM up until the time they are LEGALLY granted citizenship elsewhere. This application process can be done while the person is still in residence in their own Country. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS to take the illegal route. Thousands of people have died in the process. This must be stopped by every Country along their route. We have a humanitarian crisis of global significance here..child trafficking, drug trafficking, violent gangs and organized crime all abuse illegal immigrants. If it was your child....what would you do?

Imagine us as Americans charging towards France, Brazil or another country like this - screaming American American. That would go over well.

Why does this only apply to certain people. I think everyone in America who was not born here should go as well. If you have parents that are not from the US that makes you associated, so you should go too. So raise your hand if you have immigrant ancestors. Come on don't be afraid. These people want to fight to get into our country, why dont they fight to fix their own. Our founders fought and many died to get our freedom. Colombia didnt back down at all, thats the one sided narrative from Trump. Petro said they will not accept people chained up like criminals but would accept and even supply aircraft to bring them back respectfully. So if Trumpet now sends them back respectfully he will have backed down.\nImage the rest of the world hit the US with tariffs and watch a failing country fail further. This fits Trump's narrative too well. CNN coverage has changed since ownership switched hands. We knew it would be gradual perceptive switch but it has indeed fallen from the standards of the past. Closer to a fox for the next caste up. You only know what you are shown. You work the same job and see the same people. If you watch the same news outlets you are exposing yourself to information crafted from the same perspective. My world is small vs reality and yours is too. Think about the decades of Americans trying to keep them out, investing money in walls and barriers and wire when we could have helped stabilize these countries to where these guys wouldn't feel like they HAD to come here to live with dignity. All To be treated like this. We have had decades to fix the problem acknowledge the root problem, but we spend our tax money, time, and efforts reapplying bandaids and barriers at the border.

Tariffs are trade barriers, and they can be used to protect domestic industry. \nSuppose US imports a product 'A' for $100 from some country. Now, if 10% tariffs are imposed on that country then that product 'A' would be sold for $110. Enjoy!!! \nYes, a domestic company can produce that product A and sell it at low prices like say $90, since no import duties or stuff. However, that takes time and not all products can be produced domestically!

Why would those planes with migrants even take off if the landing wasn’t previously pre-arranged with that country’s government? Seems foolish to say the least
