It's the same in US. I am a registered nurse in the US. I make $2000 a week and pay $700 taxes, my take home is $1300/wk. From there I pay other bills. The higher you earn the higher your taxes. Some weeks I make almost $4000 as a travel nurse. You make the money but after all deductions you'll be left with little. But you'll still enjoy this taxes when you retire as social security income. If you don't want to comply to their rules and regulations you better stay in your country. I did nursing in Nigeria and took and passed my NCLEX here and started working as a registered nurse.

Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. In the Philippines everybody drives drunk specially on Friday nights. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. And it’s very expensive to pay for them. After living in colombia and spending Eid in Morroco with a family… I may have more monetarily, but it will make up for the wealth that cannot be measured with a bank account that so many other countries and cultures have. \n\nAlso… the US wasn’t always like this. What you describe as family/neighborhood life in Africa I had as a child in salem oregon. Now 40, I asked my parents one day if all the parents with children had left the neighborhood. They said “no, all the kids stay inside anymore.“\n\nI asked them if this was because of the pandemic. They told me “it was just as bad before the pandemic. Parents just don’t let their children out of their houses anymore, or take them off to a million preplanned activities.”\n\nLastly, this is very much a white North American experience. I have noticed that if you don’t fitness demographic, these rules and norms don’t apply nearly as much. The sense of community within minority groups, even those that have been here for many generations, is significantly tighter than their white counterparts.

I can agree with these comments if your not American, growing up we had all that interaction with family, friends and neighbors. Life n times have changed in America due to gun violence, especially in large cities. Socializing is different in every state in America and in every country. I can understand how if your not accustomed to our ways of life even today, that you would prefer your ways of living back in your hometown and your Country. If you live in a big City in America and moved there from a smaller town in America, you will be feeling some loneliness, that's normal to us in America. If your American then you adjust to making n meeting new people, that hasn't been so easy with the pandemic for anyone. To compare our homes in one community from another or even from another country, is just criticism. We don't have a specific way of living, as far as our homes are constructed. We do have different ways of living but so do other countries which we do enjoy when we visit. If you want to learn more about America and our lifestyles and history, you should do that. I am from India living in USA for 13 years now and I disagree with your analysis. We tend to compare and jump to conclusions quickly coming from a warm climate. This video is taken in winter, look at trees they have no leaves. People are inside b'cos its cold. Take a video in summer and you will find kids playing, swimming in pools and more lively atmosphere people walking around. In cold weather kids and people play sports in indoor arenas. The civil society is disciplined and they are following rules and laws to play at demarcated areas like parks and playgrounds. You won't find people playing on streets. My daughter plays gymnastics and you will appreciate that its a community effort to organize it. Without community sports like gymnastics is impossible to exist. Imagine 500 lbs cushions to move and organize so players can play. All parents gather and make it happen. And such teams of parents are there in every little town. This is just 1 sport. American life revolves around sports more than another country. So its a different country and if u compare USA\\Canada to India or Africa the difference is like Heaven and Hell. I will be lying if I said I was not depressed, but the reasons for my depression were not related to location or space I am in. I was feeling lonely and depressed even in India living among 1.3 billion people. So its not a matter of place but the inner space.

I'm from Quebec and moved to Alberta and I agree it could be a great province to live in, except if your job is in Montreal and you want to commute. The traffic of Montreal is horrible, even worse than Toronto's. The healthcare and education systems of Quebec are also inferior to Alberta, BC and Ontario because of the very heavy bureaucracy. Oh and heavy bureaucracy = Higher taxes than elsewhere in the country. But Quebec has a good quality of life in general because of its low cost of living in general and its strict controls on rent, car insurance and electricity prices, which prevent these from going up by too much. People tend to benefit from more government protections towards abusive businesses in Quebec than elsewhere in the country. Quebec also has cheaper beer, but wine and spirits are cheaper in Alberta. That province also doesn't have a lawsuit culture because of its no-fault rules in many aspects (For ex: You cannot be sued for causing a car accident or failing to clear snow from your driveway.) Alberta is more boring (At least, Edmonton. Calgary looks very cool.), but has better public services and better economic potential than Quebec. It's better in my opinion to raise a family in Alberta. And many people think you can move to Quebec without knowing French. That's false, except if you really wanna hate your time in Quebec. In terms of the climate, Quebec has a milder climate than Alberta but has more snow and their summers are very damp, while Alberta has more comfortable and dry summers. Owning an A/C is imperative in Quebec.

Yes Canada is a peaceful nation. You did not mention tent cities in Victoria and Vancouver, B.C. In Canada we only speak English. Quebec should be their own country. I was in the military in Quebec for one week and dropped out. I got sick in the winter and I did not like how they treated people. Remember when your there you have to learn both languages.
