Want to Eliminate Racism ? Educate Settlers/ White Canadians & Immigrants. Canadians have no idea about Residential schools, Smallpox Epidemic, Hudson Bay Traders Violations against Aboriginal peoples.

No amount of videos will make people believe in systematic racism being an issue. I don't care about being disliked but discriminated is a problem. These videos just anger people in denial they don't make them aware. I'm a Black male in Toronto and I deal with microaggressions when I leave my house every day and most importantly from other minorities as well. Let's discuss that also. We all have some learning to do.

Water is wet. Majority white countries have lots of discrimination and racism. Not to mention endless profiling. The irony is that North America specifically was meant to be a place for all kinds of people. A safe haven for those fleeing religious and ethnic persecution in Europe.

There’s lots of white men these days that wish there was more true blind recruitment and hiring. These Marketplace studies were designed to prove racism against non whites. Everyone discriminates against people not like them unless motivated to discriminate based on other criteria.

But also there is a similarly racism in the Muslim Community in Canada , against people of African origin

I think subtle racism is actually a very practical type of stereotyping and it didn't just got created out of air, there is a big chunk of that specific race (be it any race according to the stereotype) who actually prove the stereotype to be right. I am from india, living in Canada and if some house owner would prefer a white guy over me to rent their house, I would not blame him since a lot of people don't like the smell of spices that we cook all the time.\n\nAs far as stereotyping is sublet and not rude or hurting, I don't think it's actually so much of racism rather then preference.\n\nI just want to make it clear though that I do support racism, whatever is happening in US and a lot of other countries which is violent is a very horrible thing. Specially black people being racially profiled everywhere including malls and by the police themselves.

By seeing that video I could tell the United-States of America has becomed a very disturbance and dangerous if you are foreigner born and you came to live in USA you will confront racism by some demented white people in America, anytime racism takes place the judiciary rulling has right to prosecute any individual who profiling this kind of behavior against humanity weather they are Blacks, Latinos... eventually African Americans and Latinos are being victims everyday in this country, so the judiciary system need to condemne any body very severly someone who hurt a civilians in the United-States soil even though he/she American Citizens or not because there are lot of tourists who come to visit USA. So Guys ne carefull.

For almost 150 years the Liberal Left has been conducting an experiment. The subjects of the experiment: African people and working-class whites. The hypothesis to be tested: Can people taken from the jungles of Africa and forced into slavery be fully integrated as citizens in a majority white population?\n\nThe whites were descendants of Europeans who had created a majestic civilization. Over the protests of parents, they put white children on buses and sent them to African schools and vice versa.\n\nThey tried with money, special programs, relaxed standards, and endless hand-wringing to close the “achievement gap.” To keep white backlash in check they began punishing public and even private statements on race.\n\nThey hung up Orwellian public banners that commanded whites to “Celebrate Diversity!” and “Say No To Racism.”\n\nNothing was off limits if it might salvage the experiment.\nSome thought that the Talented Tenth would lead the way for African people. A group of elite, educated Africans would knock down doors of opportunity and show the world what Africans were capable of. There is a Talented Tenth. They are the African Americans who have become entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors and scientists. But ten percent is not enough. For the experiment to work, the ten percent has to be followed by a critical mass of people who can hold middle-class jobs and promote social stability. That is what is missing.\n\nThrough the years, too many African people continue to show an inability to function and prosper in a culture unsuited to them.\n\nDetroit is bankrupt, the south side of Chicago is a war zone, and majority-black cities all over America are beset by degeneracy and violence. And Africans rarely take responsibility for their failures. Instead, they lash out in anger and resentment. Across the generations and across the country, as we have seen in Detroit, Watts, Newark, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, and now Ferguson, rioting and looting are just one racial incident away.\n\nThe white elite would tell us that this doesn’t mean the experiment has failed. We just have to try harder. We need more money, more time, more understanding, more programs, more opportunities. But nothing changes no matter how much money is spent, no matter how many laws are passed, no matter how many African geniuses are portrayed on TV, and no matter who is president.\n\nSome argue it’s a problem of “culture,” as if culture creates people’s behavior instead of the other way around. Others blame “white privilege.” But since 1965, when the elites opened America’s doors to the Third World, immigrants from Asia and India–people who are not white, not rich, and not “connected”–have quietly succeeded. While the children of these people are winning spelling bees and getting top scores on the SAT, African “youths” are committing half the country’s violent crime–crime, that has nothing to do with poverty.

i didnt think that racism was this bad, i live in sweden and i have never seen anyone being treated this bad by people in common places, especially not in canada. \n\n\nim arab btw so that should be worse

I guarantee you that everybody would pick people of the race they grew up that look like their family. It's not racism, it's associating your family with good.

I find it hilarious when white people in comment sections think they can educate you about racism through a screen more than your own history, experiences, and data can. Trust me white people, I know more about racism than you do.

These are the type of videos that white people need to watch because a lot of them don't even believe black people and other non-whites experience racism and discrimination as much as we say or even at all.

Racism is basically the term that emphasizes that you are not allowed to love your own race more than any other races. I am white and I feel more comfortable around white people. Is that a crime?

This is just ridiculous, these are just a series of assumptions, why didn't you confront the people to get some kind of understanding for those results? And stop confusing stereotyping and racism, there's a big difference.

People talk about ending racism but in reality you can't end racism

I learned something new today from watching this documentary, the fact that they actually named a town & a park Africville in the great white north. Some people are naive while others are not when it comes to racism. The very fact of the world has been conquered & dominated with the white supremacy mentality leave very little to be surprise that Canada had slaves. I think from what I've come to understands is that having slavery for 250 yrs most white Canadians will pretend to not be racist, but it's like those two kids in your class the one who had the paper thrown at him & the one who did it doesn't act like he did anything & the rest are just as bad because they saw who did it but are complicit by not saying anything. No one wants to be the rat, but at the same time they all know why the one kid that threw the paper did it & the one that had it done to them knows exactly why.

This is bad racial profiling for sure, Shoppers Drugmart is bad.\nAlthough I'm white, when I have a backpack on I'm often asked if I need help.\nThey're usually more suspicious with people who wear backpacks, but certainly racism is a factor here too.

As a Muslim it disgusts me to see that people have to live with this kind of racism in this modern world. Huge respect to the guy for keeping his cool in such a situation.

It’s all on where you live and who you live around. There are like 7 black families in our town. There are no black folks to harass. The police and shop owners harass white people. They profile you on what you wear. What condition vehicle you drive or the way you look. In areas with lots of black folks they follow and harass black folks. \n\nI’m not saying it doesn’t exist. What I’m saying is it’s not everywhere like these videos make it out to be. Most of the time it has nothing to do with racism.

you should try to test racism at schools. white people get higher marks and less bullied than other racists

Racism does NOT surround us. Racism, by definition requires more than one Race to be involved in order for discrimination based on Race to happen. Discrimination CAN happen based on skin color, cultural background, language spoken, country of origin, heritage of ancestors. That is true. None of that however indicates a different Race of people, it only highlights superficial differences in appearance. It is time to end the idea that Racism based on race exists, because claiming discrimination based on Race is the first step to basic Human Rights violations. The Human Race is the only Race of people on the planet.

Racism has always been in Canada, dont be fooled. It may not be as prevalent as in other countries but racism is in fact here in Canada, I grew up here, Im a black born Canadian and dealt with it all my life. Mostly just taunting and name calling but one thing is certain, wherever you find white people you will find a lot of ignorance and even the good ones seem to always be a step or 2 away from a racist rant when they agitated. As long as they don't get violent with non whites then I guess we can deal with the slander and name calling. As a person with a darker hue, you will always be looked at like you are an Alien to them.

Wherever there are white people, there is racism. They even export their racism to African countries. Look for the Youtube video of Jimmy L Taylor racially abusing hotel staff in Uganda. White people will still look at this video and say that racism doesn't exist or try to make up some excuse for this behavior. I also love it when they say that white privilege does not exist.

Absolutely nothing has changed much over the past twenty years, except that people are not doing the racism denial thing.. not as widespread as ten years ago anyway. Since the past two years, no one denies that it is happening. And that alone makes things clearer for everyone. Nothing worse than wondering if it is your hair color, your negativity, your lack of smile or outgoing behavior.

Now I hope you all see why I dont really talk to white people like that....I know they will treat me differently. And this is canada..imagine living here in the United states and it proves whites start and continue this racism.

racism could come from black people white people and brown people. The first time i experienced racism was from a black guy.

I realize that some people are asses....that will never end. But the term racism is thrown around way too much. First of all, it’s tribalism and it’s a normal part of being human. Any thing that is ‘other’ or different will be viewed with suspicion and or dislike. It will never be stopped, it can’t be educated away and it can’t be made to go away by immersing people in multiculturalism. Think back to when you were a child even...seeing someone who was handicapped would make you wary of them. Now, when those normal perceptions cause you to treat someone bad or as a lesser person is when it becomes a problem. That CAN be educated away. But to attempt to make people feel bad because of there responses to the faces on the computer is ridiculous. EVERYONE, regardless of race, will have tendencies towards tribalistic thinking.

This video is a great attempt at Social conditioning for acceptance, but the bottom line is racism exists on a subconscious level because MOST social conditioning depicts people of color as a threat.\n...This one video won't change that. \nThe elites have to have a constant supply of scapegoats to fund their militant police state and people of color will continue to be fodder.
