We are not satisfied with the hk pathway policy, why can they enjoy the same benefits as our locals ? \nIn the past, people who applied to become a PR had to wait at least two or three years. During this period, they had to pay international student fees and then transfer to a work permit step by step, or join the investing immigration program, and then start to enjoy the benefits after becoming a PR. However, as soon as the hk pathyway people landed, they enjoyed the same benefits immediately as the locals(liked free education, local student fee for university, Child care benefits) which the locals felt were unfair. The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. It is reasonable to get a reward for how much they have paid and contributed, but it is unfair for those Hk pathway people to enjoy the same benefits as locals. \n\nThe hk pathway temporarily policy need to be amended. They shouldn’t receiving full benefits as locals while waiting for PR, they should pay the international student fees. Also, too many hk people abuse this policy, use fake academic qualifications to study, and then their whole family receives CCB , also enjoy local students is unfair to our locals. By the way, most of them after getting the PR they will go back to Hong Kong,they have no intention of staying here and make contributions to our country.\n\nThe HK pathway is a temporary policy. The immigration policy can be revised at any time just liked study permit has mandatory amendments and additional condition recently . The Hk pathway can also be amended.

Interesting thing is you never hear about white non immigrants being deported. I realize there's probably more undocumented citizens that are non white that came over illegally but there has to be some white undocumented citizens as well that should be deported as well no exceptions.

It usually takes at least 2 years to get to “trial,” then if you lose, you have 2 appeals and each appeal can take 2-3 years.\n\nEven the criminal aliens they pick up will be entitled to have their day in immigration court. This is nothing new. Bush and Obama deported millions of criminal aliens!! Criminal aliens have always been deported. This has never stopped, regardless of who’s the president. Look up ICE detention facilities. You have 2 big ones in California, Otay Mesa & Calexico; in Arizona it’s Florence & Eloy; in Texas it’s Harlingen. What I would like to know is who is going to fill the jobs left unfilled when all these deportations happen? Jobs that most American citizens do not want to do. I would also like to hear how grocery prices will go down when all these agriculture and manufacturing jobs done by immigrants suddenly become vacant with no one to fill them.

I love to hear more about Canadian healthcare as access to healthcare is important to our family and while the US healthcare is expensive, we have good access. I’ve heard mixed things about Canada’s healthcare.

Illegals are not welcome, and one of the basic requirements of a country is to protect it borders. My wife and my son-in-law are immigrants..... legal. They have earned educations and professions, the contribute to the tax base and society, and they appreciate what they have earned. Immigration is a cenetrpiece of this country, when done right. If Canada wants the illegals, I'm sure the US will be happy to deliver them. But I believe most Canadians don't, and we are only hearing a few airheaded corner cases, similar to what is being deleted from our national consciousness right now.
