I've never wanted to visit again. Actually, it's quite risky to be in Canada as an Asian or a Japanese. Althought Canada is a inferior business country relative to US. Atleast our banking system is strong, that notion of us being risk averse is a good thing. \nThe 08 crash,and now the current on going banking crisis in the US really tells you the level of risks taken by US firms. \nUS businessess are much quicker to fire you, much faster to destroy unions. For the average working person, Canada offers more. \nOur healthcare is great. I am saying this as a person who has been in and out of surgeries of different types since the age of 5 and still going through some at 24... \n\nCanada is a strong economy with good natural resources to exploit. but it is expensive relative to the US. \n\nMy general view is, for a non-white person, Vancouver, Toronto are great places to be across all of Canada and the US.

The brain drain part really struck a cord with me. Canada spent tens of thousands of dollars subsidizing my education only for me to leave in my mid 20s to seek better opportunities in the US and get away from their housing crisis. I tried to stay in Canada but even the top companies had vastly lower pay compared to what I could find in the US relative to the cost of living. The biggest difference I've noticed living in Canada and the US is in Canada the smartest people I know are investing in unproductive real estate and in the US they are hustling to start/grow STEM startups. In my view, the worsening housing crisis in Canada will only exacerbate some of these stats in the coming years.

I agree with some of your views on Canadian immigration. You mentioned a PR timeline of up to 1 year. That’s what it says in the application process but in reality isn’t always the case. It usually takes much longer esp. if your case file is unique or complex. In order to manage people’s expectations. There’ve been cases where applicants in the express entry process had been in it for over 3 year before receiving their confirmation of permanent residency. It can be a roller coaster journey that you need to be prepared for mentally.

Once they get to the US they drive around with Mexican flags ?? hanging from the rear view mirrors ? not to hard to spot them probably put their last name on their back car window
