Solution is easy, we have the most powerful military on the planet, the lack of desire to solve it by the government is problem. Infact they like it, they think it's a good thing.\nThe immigration problem could be solved over night, start securing the borders, and punish anyone helping migrants, cut off all benefits, and start deporting people. It wouldn't be beyond the capability of this country to do so. Make it suck for people coming here, and they'll leave, if they don't leave peacefully, then hey're not guest and are therefore hostile invaders and declare them enemy combatants. Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I also hope that our taxes decrease because too much of it are being payed for services to aliens when some of our locals are still stuck in the streets.

In NYC, migrants from South America can go to 800 2nd Ave Manhattan and go up to the 2nd floor to the Embassy and get papers filled out, get a passport, get your reloadable debt card, medical, schooling, housing voucher and live like a king for a few months. Over 200 line up every morning here and several hundred a day go through to get this. Can we be mad at the migrants, NO. Though I can be mad at the government for allowing and promoting it. When I got leukemia from the job the utility company fought Workers comp and stopped my pay to starve us out. I ended up homeless with a wife and 4 children. All social services in NY could do was offer us $13 a day per child for food allowance and nothing more. We couldn’t even get Medicare. The food allowance was only for 7 days. It’s a disgrace how citizens are treated. Come here illegally and they offer you the world. These politicians need to be voted out. Social services was developed to help those citizens in need and it’s not happening. People need to realize that government contractors (usually family of politicians) are hired to help these “migrants” . These contractors even from the UN are in Panama helping migrants get here. If you research it you will get angry for sure. My elected officials in Northern NY know what’s going on and are behind it, they don’t even hide it.

I feel bad for migrants that need help, but its also not the responsibility of the citizens of this country who are already hurting because of the crappy policies of politicians that don’t give a fuck about us.

I wish I also got 1400 a month, free food, free housing, free everything. Hell, I work full time to pay my taxes and my bills, while supporting my elderly mother and disabled brother. But people like me, do not get any help. To even place my brother in these facilities and programs are a pain, but he is in the process to. I think they actually came first from the States into Canada then figured out winter is too harsh so now heading back South. before the demoretards opened the US border, we would never see latinos here in Montreal. now we see them mixing with the local homeless in downtown. it's not fun for the local homeless. As a Canadian I can say I did not know about this and I'm so so sorry our dumb, terrible dictator is doing this to your country. As Canadians we used to be able to trust that our government would bring in families and refugees and Canadians could feel secure and confident that we were helping. Our country was committed to kindness and helpfulness. Now, they're doing this. They're importing young-middle aged men who take jobs from locals and they give them tens of thousands in cash handouts, they steal our housing and give it up to these people who only want to colonize us. WOW! Sorry Cash but American are VERY undereducated about Canada. This has been going on for years on the boarder. It just up - ticked in the last couple. One of the problems here is we have ZERO vacancy rates , which makes it worse ...we have nowhere to put them, Then there's our foreign student problem which is very complicated and involve CON MEN in India , who have contacts/ family here and work the system. Up to and including helping them get drivers permits...illegally. There's all sorts of loop holes , how we found out about the drivers permits, why traffic accidents became more frequent of course. Then there's the fake colleges they set up and yeah the student gets a minimum wage job and lives in a house stacked with ppl in the same boat as them. Then find out they being rooked and stay with no education or if they do get a legit school they can't stay here and become a citizen because they can't find work in the higher professions ( doctor ) because the system is screwed then they move back home with a good education and leave us with gaps in our medical system. It's complicated and won't be solved anytime soon on either side.

We were going to Chicago to visit family and took a wrong turn off. Ended up in a place I had only seen in movies. Cars jacked up and stripped , boarded up windows and a lot of of people in the streets. We were to afraid to stop and ask for directions. Cop car pulled up beside us, guns visable and angry looking police. Still didnt ask for help .\nMy baby spent 2 weeks in Sick Kids hospital. Major emergency surgery. They accidentally gave me a copy of the bill. It was well over $200,000. Never cost us a dime except for parking. \nI happily live in Canada and wouldn't be anywhere else.

I know a refugee family who both mom and dad aren’t working and has 3 little kids. How they survive in Canada? Money from child tax, pension money because dad takes care of old relatives (actually the old folks were just barely living and in exchange of looking after them the dad receives their monthly benefit), and selling the property of the old folks. This cheating family has now been able to rent a large home and able to travel in Canada and the US, (they have become Canadian citizens recently) without mom and dad working! And the old relatives, they dont live in the large home and aren’t included in any of their travels. Mind you, these old relatives were once working, responsible residents of Canada and helped the refugee family come to Canada because they are blood related. LESSON HERE - be careful of family that will take advantage of you when you get old, especially when you have pension and properties. Be careful who you trust! The nerve of the refugee dad!

Simple fact is that the new immigrants she is talking about are opportunists and complainers. I am an immigrant of 50 years. I had three jobs by the age of 15. My father, was a determined immigrant from UK who brought us here. He died from Mesothelioma - A rare form of lung cancer directly linked to asbestos exposure. He often worked weekends in the schools where he taught. When they asked him to remove the asbestos from the ceilings of the schools he was happy to help. He, along with similar European immigrants at that time built the infrastructure, hospitals and everything that attracts new immigrants.\n\n My advice to my fellow Canadians? You are only as Canadian as you feel, Canadian as you assert, Canadian as you are prepared to sacrifice. Given enough time, the fairweather folks, previously from Abu Dhabi, Dubai or some other haven will sour and move on. Either that or daddy's dime will run out and they will be called back to New Delhi.

My family are Central American immigrants. The vast majority of them have been blue collar hard working people that helped shape what we live in today. I am first generation born Canadian coming from this blue collar family of hard working immigrants that earned their Canadian citizenship. I think most of us who have immigrant family from anywhere have seen this. I cannot necessarily say I’ve seen this type of work or drive to contribute from the Indians that immigrate to Canada. Yes there are some who really contribute, but that should be the norm not the exception. I don’t have anything against them, I just really wished Canada would be more diligent on who they let in and how many they let in. This is the result of just opening the flood gates. Canada has always been multicultural, but you gotta earn your keeps.

Went to Canada in 2005 first. Things were so different. Was there just for a year before moving to California for about 9 years. Now back in India and love it here. Glad I enjoyed the good days in Canada and USA when it was really good times there. Even Many parts of Uaa are like this now. UK too is bad choice. I worked for a Canadian school/institute as their admissions advisor for India. But when things were not looking good for their job prospects I honestly told them not to go or wait to get in a better US university. Ofcourse this ethical mindset was causing trouble with my work profile and targets, so I quit. Atleast I won't feel guilty of misguiding hopeful students who were ready to take education loan by keeping their homes or ancestral lands as mortgage. I will advise the new generation to choose any country for education after doing all research, not just by the glossy picture they portray.. or best to stay in India and help our economy grow.. create jobs here.
