If any housing delays or shortages, bringing in to Canada another new group of 500K immigrants plus students/temp workers will further strain the temporary housing, infrastructure. The problem will accumulate. So if we thought it was bad after year #1, it could get worse. The two (available finished housing, newcomers) must be in balance. Housing costs will NOT stabilize UNTIL the necessary new supply comes into being.

I've lived in halifax most of my life and never had a problem finding a place to live. I had to move recently and became so desperate i had to hire a realtor. My city is becoming unrecognizable and full of unemployed immigrants who don't seem to have a problem at all finding accommodation of ay sort. I work my ass off, and I and most people I know are fed up with this idiot sorry excuse for a prime minister bringing masses of people in when our infrastructure is strained to begin with.

I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. Immigration is viewed as a solution to a slowing economy and all of the problems it brings are ignored as long as the economy is stable and interest rates are low. But it is such a flawed ideology that only serves to diminish national identity, disrupt harmony and create social issues.

People never seem to understand that people are resource like everything else in an economy. If you bring in an unusually enormous amount of people to an economy, it will drive up the cost of everything, since when demand is high for housing, groceries and of the like, the supply won't ever meet the demand when you are superficially pumping the economy of an otherwise unneeded supply. The only way to make it better is to halt all immigration, especially illegal immigration, and reinstitute family culture for child rearing, in order to organically grow the economy.

I was born in Canada to a Polish immigrant mother. My mothers family came to Canada to escape the tail end of communism and seek better opportunities. I’m 22, I have a degree from a good university and I’m now living with my mother working part time at a liquor store. I was told as a teenager as long as I got a degree I’d have a job and have enough to live on my own. I was lied to. I’m currently working on getting my dual Polish-Canadian citizenship and doing a certification to go teach English in Europe. I can’t have a good life here the way prices are and the stress being in this country brings. There’s homeless encampments everywhere, even in front of my city hall. There’s a couple homeless people who sit outside the store I work at and it’s a heavy reminder I’m one argument with my mother from sitting where they are. I am constantly worried I will become homeless.

So many high rises being built for the main immigrants entering Canada in the hundreds of thousands--with drug money, many without any education and the English language...bring their elderly family members who have never worked a day in Canada to pick up old age pension. If I was Prime Minister. I would Ban the immigrant Visa program for the next 10 years. I would deport anyone who has overstayed there welcome (those with expired visas) or are here (illegally) and now (not documented) \n\nThat alone would take many out of the shelters, homes, rentals, streets that should not be in the Country anymore. Leaving the resources and the people who work and volunteer for those resources to help the Canadian people (which would be the prime reason for this) Canadians first ! \n\nI would cut the Carbon Tax. Lower the Property Tax. Put a cap on all Strata fees. Lower the deficit. \n\nBuild more Hospitals and treatment centers. Put a ban on drugs and safe injections (as we know there is no such thing) \n\nMake it mandatory for those in need due to drug and mental issues (that have been diagnosed with such) to go to treatment centers (while building more centre's and hiring qualified professionals workers) to stop the crisis. \n\nChange laws on crimes and the time and penalty behind them. Doubling and tripling the time served and raising bail fees by 50% to keep folks that have criminal pasts off the streets <---- for first time offenders. \n\nFor those that have multiple offenses. Quadruple the jail times and put bail amounts 100% more then what they are now. \n\nGive those that kill, ra*e, torture, (and things along that nature (the death penalty) \n\nI would remove the mandate for Electric Vehicles for Canada. Where only 1 vehicle per manufacturer would have to be Electric. So if somebody wants it. It's there but the majority would be. Gas / Diesel etc. \n\nI would build more housing / schools / retirement homes / hospitals / recreation centre's / Library and walk in Clinics. \n\nI would write a law that the roads in Canada must be fixed properly. Not just patched. \n\nI would raise the taxes on Multi Million and Billion Corporations and those that make $400.000 or more to pay a higher tax. While those that make less than $400.000 get taxed less. \n\nI would Lower the provincial taxes by 2% effective immediately and the Minimum wage across all provinces would be $17.75 an hour for full time workers (over 32 hours per week) with .25 cent yearly increases until 2030 to be reassessed. \n\nI would give Tax cuts to those who want to open businesses and build and sell Canadian Products to make sure Canadian Goods are affordable to make. Still have a profit to slow down overseas production creating more Canadian jobs for Canadian People. \n\nEvery Worker that works 24 hours or more weekly is getting Benefits making it mandatory for all types of business owners to make benefits available to the workers and ensuring the plan covers a minimum of 50% throughout the entire year. \n\nI would raise the pension to those who have worked 25+ years in Canada and remain in Canada as a retiree for a minimum of 6 months of the year 5% \n\nShrinkflation will stop. With major corporations getting fined if they don't smarten up and change the way the make and package goods. \n\nI would put a cap on Car insurance for those that have never been in an accident before and lowering the monthly cost by 10% \n\nCondo sizes would have to increase the square footages by a minimum of 10% of the national average to make sure that there is enough room and peaceful environment for those that live in those spaces. \n\nI would ban that you would have to pay additional for parking at every Rental property including lockers, that the property owners purchased during pre construction as well as lower the public parking costs nation wide in parking garages by 20% and cap it. \n\nI would Lower transit costs nation wide by 20% and cap it. \n\nI would bring back texts books and paper to schools so kids read more. Write more. Understand more. Learn more for those in grade 8 and under. \n\nI would ban every Pride event in Canada and charge people fines if they hang rainbow colored Canadian flags anywhere on any property including ban clothing with those colors on the Canadian Flags immediately. Both Liberals and Conservative governments play immigrants off. They allow Asians to enter without having any education and bringing in drug money into the country without any questions. I truly believe that Canada is made stronger by the contributions of new Canadians from all walks of life. \n \nOn a personal note, I am so grateful for the love and acceptance that my daughter's partner from India has brought into our family. Their relationship has taught me so much about different cultures and traditions. Needed is a General Canadian Census of everybody, immigrants and homeless tent and vehicle dwellers so that a current population count is obtained. Next, build density apartments to house everybody, not luxury condos or apartments that are overpriced. Bring back the rent cap to Canada under control of the Federal Housing Minister.

My mother had an international driver's license from France and she had to go through hoops to get her licence here. They are handing things over with no screening to these people which is cause instability and chaos. No structure. They let them bring their huge money here and put into franchises with no credentials. Bank loans free approval no questions asked. Meanwhile, most of those franchises will never make any money. Then they will take that money also, and put it into homes. Rent etc, and this is the part where they basically drain the immigrant money in an instant and put it into Canada economy. Now that you have all these immigrants buying all these businesses. Now you need slave work, so you start Bringing it more immigrants to work those slave jobs. Because in the 1990s, all the way up to 2010. You were encouraging Education. During that time Education was the money Maker. So you kept pushing that. Billions went to universities. Telling people that they'll have a better future. That was the lie of that time. Now you want the same people to work min wage jobs. Now immigration is a bigger Money maker. They say they're bringing in these guys Because they want to work these jobs that a canadians don't want to work. That's because you just made those fake jobs by creating more immigrants to come here have franchises that need minimum wage jobs. But you also promised the rest of us that if we worked hard enough, we will get better jobs. So why would we want to resort to minimum wage jobs on top of you ruining the market for housing inflation taxes etc? How could we even afford while working Minimum wage jobs.
