Well I already left the Canada last year after having lived for 5 years. I am in my early 30s , south asian immigrant. I had a good paying job. I left because more so because of the social isolation and the pandemic measures. Plus I feel most Canadians may seem polite , but not friendly as in - extremely hard to make friends. Ethnic groups stick to themselves and don't mix. I found dating to be extremely hard and toxic. People have high individualistic mentality and don't open up.\n\nI am now in working in Mexico / Latin America and my mental health has greatly improved. I am able to socialize and women here aren't as stuck up as in Canada. Real world interactions are valued here unlike in Canada where it's all about the apps and social media. Also who doesn't like some good consistent sunshine. Overall , I am happy to have left Canada and am not coming back.

If it makes you feel better: low socio economical Canadians (low income) are also struggling too. I’m hoping for peace and improvement but my expectations are not high.

Never left Africa,I am Ugandan, people think it's bad in Africa but I don't think so,I don't have problems,I have friends at university,life is good,plus we have great weather and climate. I am not complaining and I don't think I will ever leave Africa to be honest,I have never felt any racism,I just know it as a word but it has never applied to me,that alone makes me feel as though I am lucky.

Honest review. I lived in ontario, better say Toronto. Car insurance, rent, work life balance. The good thing is the vibe and some basic things you don't fight alot to attain, the place is vividly. Their economic policies suppress growth people struggle to beyong and you must be equipped with many relevant skills apart from degree. What gives you money in Canada is your own business, risk jobs, most importantly your money source is coming from somewhere and you just invest there in houses, etc. \nThe country is nice and alot of events in the summer, but when the winter comes is really tough and you feel limited if you don't drive, if don't know places to socialise. The minimum wage is very low until this day. In reality everyone has an individual journey, and every experience may be completely different dispite any barriers they may achieve and make their dream come true, but still it will be a very small number.

I am thankful to Canada and for giving me basic lifestyle compare to my birth country. Nonetheless, I feel unhappy living in Canada. The high taxes, the very high cost of living, and how unfriendly people are is making me feel depressed.

Hi ladies. These are exactly the same situation here in the UK. I have been living in London since 1986 and surviving over here especially for those just arriving can be so frustrating. I often wonder why so many of our people are still struggling to come and live in these countries. I know you speak about the USA being better however I have a numbers of family and friends living in America and they are complaining about how hard you have to work in order to make ends meet. The answer to that could be the fact that many immigrants especially from Africa don't feel safe in their own home countries and bad leaders who continually fail to provide any opportunities for their youths and citizens. I’m from the Cayman Islands. Our cost of living is high and we don’t have free health care. Our car insurances are super high you can go to our supermarket to buy bread a bottle of juice a pre made lasagna (that you just throw in the oven) and easily spend 47 dollars. Our gas prices are currently 7.50 per gallon. My family and I are considering making the move to Canda I do appreciate your advice and your options thank you for that. But trust me you want to feel high cost of living come to cayman ! ?

Canada's racial teaching with CRT (Critical Race Theory) actually makes people feel more and more divided. Whizqueen and Tinuola talk about how they didn't feel black ? till they moved to Canada, they didn't feel isolated till they moved to Canada. Back home everyone felt the same, but if people in Canada say that there is no such thing as colour, or they are colour blind, they get accused of being racist. \nHere in the UK most things are as bad as Canada, if not worse, in terms of the other things that Whizqueen and Tinuola talk about: we have gloomy weather and it is wet and cold much of the year, we have high taxes, many people are working all they can and are still relying on charities called food banks just to be able to pay all their other bills. \nBut our government is still not as bad as the way Trudeau has been governing Canada recently. Government by presidential decree is not democracy, it is a dictatorship. When people can't even protest against the dictatorship of Trudeau without being slandered and called horrible names and then punishing people by not only freezing and stealing the protesters' money, they even went after the bank accounts of people who had helped the protesters. That is what dictatorships are like, not democracy.

If you already used to life around friends and families back home Canada is not for you. Quite frankly Canada is for natural born loners.\nFact, You will definitely feel more at home in the u.s than Canada mainly due higher immigrants population.\nIf you moved to Canada as a teenager or was born by immigrants parents then Canada is for you. You get used to the lifestyle, bitter cold, Old age home and so forth are considered normal. \nIf you moved to Canada as adult with your wives and kids and doing well Canada is for you.\nIf you’re young and single there are endless nightclubs to make friends, schools, community gathering, places of worship even online.\nThose that reached older age moved back only if they still have strong family ties else they stayed and enjoy there pension.\nIf you moved to Canada as adult found it boring and moved to u.s and find the high cost of healthcare attractive, the gun culture less dangerous, the mass shootings, more racism, police brutality and still loved it, there’s no need to move back to Canada.

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. Excellent video! Agree! I am Canadian born but some of these points I can even relate to, especially how hard they make it to accumulate wealth. We are taxed to death - our income is taxed and then we are taxed again when we buy goods. It seems like they do everything they can to prevent wealth building. The retirement saving plan….is even a rip off when you consider you give your money to the government to get a reduced value years later after inflation…..almost feels like I’m a slave and the kings and queens have just put on suit and ties. I think higher officials in government are way over paid…securing ridiculous pensions and getting huge raises on tax payer money.

Be careful. In this video you both sound like spoiled brats. Many people in your home country would do almost anything to trade places with either of you. It sounds like you would both be happier if you went back home. When you get there please contribute some of what you learned in Canada to the people around you. You don't get a reward or a claim for car insurance unless you get in accident ffs. If you (who ever feels this way) don't see the benefit of paying these bills, nigeria would love to have you guys back I'm sure. High cost of living? Isn't it the same in Lagos? And there an no amenities? Taxes? The good roads you drive your car on, the hospitals etc, they don't just appear magically - do they? Boring? Make friends, try new sports, travel to new places (within and outside Canada), explore, get a job(so at least you have somewhere to go? Home sick? Grow up or go home - period!! I have thought about this move to CA but here in Nigeria I have about 5 years career growth in HR and I am currently a team lead and by next year or before the end of this year my promotion to supervisor is very certain plus I work remotely and pay not bad atall but can get better lol... This is a multicultural society and a very successful one, we all mingle with each other and we love it! Loneliness?!! Come on! Have you been to Europe anywhere?!! :)) you won't last a month! I agree that it is boring, cold, expensive, high tax high services, I mean people didn’t work for a year and got paid plenty for nothing. Taxes are incremental based on income as they should be. Coming from a major Latin American city, you have no idea what it is to live under fear of assault or harm at any moment, having corrupt politicians, police, and people in general. You are privileged having been born here because it is much easier to make a living, with good laws, you should go to places where people drink on the streets and pee and shit everywhere. I’m sure there are better places in the world but you will never feel like at home, and each place will have it’s own difficulties. I don’t think we all need to live in the same place but don’t believe that you are able to move to any place in the world if you weren’t Canadian.

I was one of those immigrants who decided to move back to my home country. I lived in Canada for a year so I survived Winter and Summer in Toronto during 2020. I had so many situations against me to stay in Canada and I also had a void in my soul that didn't let me make the decision to definitely stay. I also couldn't put up with the pressure of my acquaintances so determined to stay forever, even though my plan at first wasn't to stay, I still feel guilty for haven't done a little more effort to stay but no regrets. I am thankful for my Canadian experience and I know that it will be helpful in the future if I decide to go back to Canada.

I have Canada PR. Last year I returned and back to my country. Canada is not worth at all... Canada future is very dark....Canada has no Industry and nothing made in Canada.... So true 100%!!! Your fellow international friend from Serbia here. I was forced to leave home in late 90s due to civil war there. I thought America was dream and paradise where all problems cease to exist. Little did I know America is living nightmare and hellhole where real problems actually just started. Even financially wise, half of the USA population is so poor working for pocket change. Nothing left in the end of month. Everything is dark, soulless and tasteless. This is damned land. There is no life. Just work sleep and paying bills. There is no outdoor life. Even people you know you get chance to see them every 3 weeks. Everybody lives spread out from each other and work different jobs, different days and shifts. It's impossible to make friends. It's impossible to get normal girlfriend or any girlfriend. No human connection. No passion, no enjoy. Neighbors don't even talk to neighbors. Just emotional pain, loneliness and depression that can lead to SERIOUS psychological issues and consequences. While experiencing all this I actually thought something was wrong with me, like feeling of being under black magic attack, that's how serious it feels. I always wanted to live here and to see people from all over the world and hang out with them. However people here share same mentality, they are very reserved and alienated from each other. Nobody cares about each other here. People are also very close minded and hang out in their own groups like in prison, whites with whites, blacks with blacks and so on... People here don't realize they became androids and modern slaves. They put money first and left behind family, friends and love. It's best never to come here, you have to be an idiot if you think happiness exist in America. Stay on your own land.

I understand this fully as I came to Uk as a child 60 yrs ago. .. I feel the same way today. I can agree with these comments if your not American, growing up we had all that interaction with family, friends and neighbors. Life n times have changed in America due to gun violence, especially in large cities. Socializing is different in every state in America and in every country. I can understand how if your not accustomed to our ways of life even today, that you would prefer your ways of living back in your hometown and your Country. If you live in a big City in America and moved there from a smaller town in America, you will be feeling some loneliness, that's normal to us in America. If your American then you adjust to making n meeting new people, that hasn't been so easy with the pandemic for anyone. To compare our homes in one community from another or even from another country, is just criticism. We don't have a specific way of living, as far as our homes are constructed. This is how as American's we have always lived, small homes, large homes, big cities, small towns. Since the pandemic we do find ourselves spending more time inside due to no fault of our own. We do have different ways of living but so do other countries which we do enjoy when we visit. If you want to learn more about America and our lifestyles and history, you should do that. Every Country has it's government rules n law's and we try to abide by them, that's what makes our Country n Our Nation Great, that's also why many people come here to visit or work and study. Loneliness can be anywhere, depending on the person you are and reaching out to make new friends or just acquaintances is important. So we’ll said my friend. I came from India and I feel so lonely. And being immigrant and person of different color it makes it so difficult. People and friends would be in and out of my house. Always had people around. And if you don’t have family or a single person no spouse or partner it is very very lonely.

I am from India living in USA for 13 years now and I disagree with your analysis. We tend to compare and jump to conclusions quickly coming from a warm climate. This video is taken in winter, look at trees they have no leaves. People are inside b'cos its cold. Take a video in summer and you will find kids playing, swimming in pools and more lively atmosphere people walking around. In cold weather kids and people play sports in indoor arenas. The civil society is disciplined and they are following rules and laws to play at demarcated areas like parks and playgrounds. You won't find people playing on streets. My daughter plays gymnastics and you will appreciate that its a community effort to organize it. Without community sports like gymnastics is impossible to exist. Imagine 500 lbs cushions to move and organize so players can play. All parents gather and make it happen. And such teams of parents are there in every little town. This is just 1 sport. American life revolves around sports more than another country. So its a different country and if u compare USA\\Canada to India or Africa the difference is like Heaven and Hell. I will be lying if I said I was not depressed, but the reasons for my depression were not related to location or space I am in. I was feeling lonely and depressed even in India living among 1.3 billion people. So its not a matter of place but the inner space.

Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! Or the bribes we have to pay in Pakistan to get a basic job !\nThe difference in HUMANITY is big sir...among our countries and these. This is just un doable now. I would dispute the cost of living argument putting Quebec at #1. I'm from there, and in Quebec, you have extremely high tax rates, almost no social services (since the health care system started imploding in the 90s and has the only such system in Canada that is almost completely non-transportable across provinces as Quebec refuses to pay anyone else or delays payment for so long, other provinces give up). Daycare workers don't even make minimum wage, the education system is heavily politicized and extremely poor (far too many teachers who couldn't care less about their students and do little work), rents are quite high in most cities, especially when you couple them with the high tax rates and the infrastructure is among the worst in North America. There are good points about Quebec, but I put it about on par with Montana or Alabama for what it offers the population, compared to costs. And then there's the wonderfully racist and nationalist government that feels it's a crime to wear a scarf.

This is my true story of a horrific experience that happened to me on renting apartments in Montreal, i had to look for a new apartment to rent due to having to leave my apartment i was at due to fire damages that was caused by another tentant in apartment complex,anyhow i soon there after found a new apartment,this new apartment was renting for $1100.00 it had just been renovated and really nice and clean,however my horrific experience was just about to get much worse,just at the time the covid19 outbreak came around i was settling into my new apartment and really happy i had found a new place,so i thought...i soon began feeling very sick in this apartment and i kept trying to figure out why i was feeling this way,well to cut my true story short,i found out after 5 months and becoming really sick that there were drug dealers who had set up a meth lab in an apartment agent to my mine and the fumes from cooking there meth drug had been seeping into my apartment getting me very sick, still today i have lingering horriffic symptoms do to this meth poisoning, i have seen doctors and explained to them about my bad experience,i have persistance symptoms of lung problems, sinuses and bad headackes which start in this place,i found out the chemical these drug dealers were using to cook this meth was called Ether which is a mix of sulfuric acid and alcohol along with other very toxic dangerous chemicals,however the Ether chemical mix has a very sweet smell not a bad smell which is very deceiving to the sense of smell leaving you thinking how wounderful the air smells around,if you`ve rented you know there are all kinds of smells around,however it was to late by then ,how i found out it was a meth lab is a long story,i had been poisoned really bad but just as bad as getting sick is that when there is meth contamination that seeps into apartments,everything becomes contaminated,i mean everything,from cloths to furniture,tv bed,the smallest objects everything,i couldn`t take anything with me due to meth residue contamination,meth lab spores are really bad,they will linger in everything for years continue making one sick and very hard to wash or get rid of,i had to dispose of everything i had,thousands of dollars lost,all my belongings,it was horrible so horrible,the land lord had no idea this was going on in his building only later to know,also from what i have found out is that these dangerous meth lab apartments are common,i rent from a friend now and will never again rent from others,i still am sick with long lasting bad symptoms fearing for my health ,so i say Renter beware.

My wife moved here 25 years ago luckily she is a European trained musician, all her credentials were recognized and she is still teaching music here in Alberta. \nAt first she was very homesick understandably but.luckily we were able to move her aging parents here 16 years ago. They got treated like royalty by the Canadian Government compared to my Canadian born parents showered with benefits even though they never worked in Canada one day. I know this is no.longer the case for new.immigrants but on the whole Canada has one of the most generous immigration policies on the planet.\nI feel for new.immigrants it's a very rough transition to make but after 200 plus years in Canada I thank my ancestors for taking a huge risk in coming here every day.
