Quebec, Nova Scotia and NFLD are tied for history. I suggest visits to Fortress Louisbourg & The Citadel in Halifax and yes Montreal & Quebec City are historic and lovely. You have reminded me of why my friends from the subcontinent love Canada and wish to make their home in our drop dead beautiful country. Your stats are very old, unemployment in PEI has dropped and high tech is doing well. Lots of folks are moving to PEI & Nova Scotia. Halifax is absolutely beautiful with so much that is new. Even Metro Cape Breton has reversed the decline of recent years and is now growing at 2% per year. By the way both Cape Breton and the South Shore of NS are drop dead beautiful. The South Shore is New England beautiful, the way New England was in the past. If I were from Boston I'd be moving to NS. The pandemic was managed better in the Maritimes which is translating into growth.

Life is good, you keep watching even the awful movies from your country, connect with the friends back home and read every news bit longing and comparing the life at home…that is the life we lived\n\nSuddenly, after my husband’s death, the light bulb finally turned on and moved to India to raise my son 6 years back. The impromptu play dates, relatives and friends dropping in, the casual conversations with the milkman, newspaper guy, the screaming noise when the kids are getting out of school, friends volunteering to take your kids for a weekend getaway… these little people connections are so important. \n\nWestern countries economically developed. But hungry for love and connection..

I lived in Michigan early 2000s.. all kids in our subdivision played outside everyday for hours during summer.. during winter you would see them out also playing in the snow. Have seen a shift in the last decade or so with all kids being engaged only in structured activities being shuttled by parents...Still fortunate in California there are some pockets in our neighborhood kids drop in to play with each other.. and you are much likely to see people outdoors walking or biking.

After over a year a little bit finally I was able to travel to Canada just this week. I damn ate 6 Poutine in 3 days lol . (Quebec Province) . I hope restrictions get smoother in near future. I'm of Scottish/Irish descent and few people are whiter than I am plus I have freckles and auburn hair. I had just moved to Orlando and dropped off several prescriptions to an Eckerd's drugstore. Rather than leaving and returning 30 to 45 minutes later decided to look around and see the store layout for future reference. I wasn't wearing a coat and I never opened my purse. I got my prescriptions and left the store. An alarm beeped and the manager came outside, grabbed my arm and yanked me back into the store. A security guard watched as I was taken into a little office, had my purse contents dumped on the floor and was told I must have stolen something. I pointed out the teenagers who were blatantly stuffing things in cargo pants pockets. They ignored them. After pawing through my things I was told I could put the stuff back in my purse. I demanded the manager pick up everything and put it on his desk and then I'd put it in my purse. As I left the alarm rang again. We realized the Stone Mountain metal label on the front of my purse set off the alarm. He never apologized. I called the corporate office and was told he'd get a reprimand. I could have charged him with assault. Grabbing me and forcing me into his store and office against my will violated FL laws. I never set foot in that store again and warned everyone I met not to. It may have been a coincidence but the store was shut down within 6 months. Others of different races said that manager had harassed them, too.

Yes Canada is a peaceful nation. You did not mention tent cities in Victoria and Vancouver, B.C. In Canada we only speak English. Quebec should be their own country. I was in the military in Quebec for one week and dropped out. I got sick in the winter and I did not like how they treated people. Remember when your there you have to learn both languages. That was totally unfair to assume of Shoppers in Regina. You sent your guy in with 2 personal bags. One was a personal shopping like bag in his left hand (with stuff in it already). The second one was an over the shoulder tote bag (hanging off of his right shoulder and using his right hand to keep it in place).
