I can tell y’all dont play chess ♟️ Politics is just like a chess game with more pieces. This guy is about to leave office and when the next prime minister comes watch what happens ? this “trade war” is a bluff to make them do what we want, checker players ? no American nor Canadian will be hurt during this genius move ? look at Mexican president feeling the pressure that they coughed up 29 cartel members and they just got extradited to New York including one that killed a US DEA agent in 1985! With the threat of tariffs the Colombian president changed his mind about picking up his own people that crossed our border illegally instantly. He even sent his own planes ✈️ to get them. Our tariffs is to bring jobs back to America ?? and a major negotiating tool. Ya’ll confused Democrats in the comment section don’t even know what planet ? you standing on.

All Canada has to do is drop tariffs on USA and Trump would drop tariffs, idiots in the North

Trump will justified buy Russian oil because the tariffs to Canadian oil. Wait and see

Imagine robbing the United States for years with unfair tariffs and then crying about making it fair by gaslighting Americans and Canadians by describing Trump's attempt at negotiating a peace deal and saving lives as appeasing a murderous dictator. Trudeau is a morally corrupt and cowardly piece of sht.

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

Horrible leader! Fair trade does not equate to being fair in this case. If you charge 25% why is it not fair in return to charge 25%? \nWhy does the world expect the US to cover their butts when our country can't afford it any longer. Why don’t they get that we are 37 trillion in debt? We can no longer afford the world’s unfair trade. Trudeau doesn't like the taste of his own medicine. He could lift the tariffs on the US and then there would be no reciprocal tarriff. He's only hurting Canadians.

Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau, for your steadfast leadership in these challenging times. Your clear and decisive response to the unjustified U.S. tariffs demonstrates a commitment to protecting Canadian interests and upholding the integrity of your nation's economy. \n\nIt's reassuring to witness a leader who can speak sense and stand firm against unwarranted actions. \n\nYour dedication to maintaining strong international relationships while addressing internal challenges reflects true statesmanship. Canada is fortunate to have such principled guidance as we navigate these complexities together. #IStandWithCanada

Sorry Canada. But Donald's not interested in fact. It's theater. He has no idea how tariffs work.
2025-03-04 0
Canada already has tariffs on goods exported from the United States to Canada and we rarely have any on them so let me get my popcorn ? ready loading………. The 51st state ?️

So for everyone fawning over Trudeau's ability to be articulate, that is impressive to you only because the U.S. has had a piece of steamed broccoli named Biden as a figure head for the last 4 years.\nI can't say I understand Trump's strategy with respect to Canada, but I absolutely know that Trump is no Socialist like Trudeau is. I am happy to wait and see how this shakes out because Trump has been right on so, so many things. No one is perfect, not Trump and not Trudeau. Maybe it's not about drugs. Maybe Canada could offer to go back to respecting individual liberties and free speech in return for the elimination of U.S. tariffs. Sounds like something Trump would agree to.

Tariffs have no winner. …What about Canadian tariff on Chinese EV. ????
2025-03-04 0
Excuse me, but when you already enjoy a massive trade surplus, you're GUARANTEED to lose a tariff war. What an idiot.
2025-03-04 0
You go Justin! Proud to be Canadian ! Soo sad for our American friends they dont deserve this but we have no choice ! We dont deserve it either! Their president decided it was right to install tariffs on us now we have to take it but with payback. We will not stay silent.

Compare Trump and Mr Trudeau purely on their demeanour and the words that they speak. Mr Trudeau has demonstrated here that he is a skilled statesman, he can speak coherently and powerfully. He's not spouting ridiculous insults in the face of Trump's tariffs. He may have fallen out of favour in Canada, but as a British citizen looking in, he stands head and shoulders above Trump and Vance. Thank you for your service Mr Trudeau.

Drama. If you secure your border then no tariffs.
2025-03-04 0
Bravo Canada! You know how to elect a leader! Trump and his cronies can place tariffs on anything but they will never earn Trust or Respect.
2025-03-04 0
Yep it's going to be interesting \nAs I work for an international Automotive injection molding company based here in the US\nWe import Raw materials from Europe and China plus within the US and who knows where these materials come from.\nBut we also export finished products and materials to Europe, China, Canada, Mexico just to name afew.\nThat is a lot of tariffs placed on these products and that doesn't include tax, cost of labor, manufacturing costs\ngoing to be interesting what the future holds
2025-03-04 0
Trump is an ignorant fool. He has no idea how tariffs or anything else works! Bravo Prime Minister Trudeau.
2025-03-04 0
From the UK, standing with Canada. (And I really hope you put a 100% tariff on Tesla products.). Great, clear speech with coherent sentences and no hyperbole. Great speech. And if Canada is willing to do this, what will China do?
2025-03-04 0
Trump said he’s was doing tariffs 1:1 …? I didnt think it was about fentanyl…. Although I wonder how’s that’s calculated…. Bc us has like state tax, sales tax ect…. So wonder how the calculation works?
2025-03-04 0
No winners in a trade war. No winners in a Trump America. \n\nCanadians should be proud of having a smart, wise, handsome, rational leader. Sadly, ours is the polar opposite, a bloated tragic excuse for a president. As one of MANY millions who voted for Kamala, we join Canadians in the fight against these ridiculous tariffs that Trump initiated. We're ashamed of him. This Trudeau speech is very very honorable and articulate and resolute.
2025-03-04 0
Why is no one asking how much Fentanyl is brought into the USA Directly (not via Mexico or Canada)? Surely more is imported directly into the USA or even Manufactured on American soil than arrives from Canada?? We all knew the Tariffs have nothing to do with the border...it's been economic negotiations from the beginning...Also it's US demand for the dug that is the real problem not the borders.
2025-03-04 0
How are reciprocal tariffs a “TrAde WaR” ???????????? he’s being so dramatic and is a terrible actor oh my goodness smh
2025-03-04 0
Lol, so tariffs are a bad thing for the country, but ok for them to implement on theirs, lol!!!! Feed me more BS. Its about who they hurt more. Believe me, its Canada that will feel it more. The US will have more companies popping up to fill the gap.
2025-03-04 0
This is just part of his plan as a coupe to take over our federal government, collapse our economy with hyper inflation, have his 4.5 trillion tax cuts for the wealthy while putting high tariffs on Americans. His goal is power and making billions while in office. He is trying to push a bill so he could be president a third term which is against our constitution.
2025-03-04 0
But wait but wait someone needs to teach Trudeau how tariffs work... Doesn't that silly bugger know that there are tax on his own people they're not affecting the United states
2025-03-04 0
sure lets just have tariffs between governments to see the people suffer. right on
2025-03-04 0
Trump should just change the word tariff to carbon tax so Liberals won,t be so upset.
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau you're about to get your @zz handed to you.\nWe don't need your shii. \nWe don't need your product or your materials.\nYour small country has been hurting more than the US for some time. \nWe're not scared of your tariffs.
2025-03-04 0
These are your tariffs Trudeau not Trumps??- you are nothing but a liar and instigator !!!\n\nMirroring your own self image \nYou’re the issue!\nYou and your playmate Singh!\n\nHell has her mouth wide open with you and every Liberal/ NDP on it!!!\n\nYou’re a disgrace to all things true!!!

mi request to the all Americans and Canadians to tariff trump Kiss or Kick. No need to frustrate , digest it. Buy your own country, s goods. Good Luck to Americans papa trump and his policies in the America and broad.
2025-03-04 0
So, you spent all this money, and at the end, the result is 25% US tariffs ??. This simply shows how a lapdog Canada is.
2025-03-04 0
The tariffs make sense when you realize that trump's real goal is to destroy democracy everywhere so he can be a dictator like Putin.
2025-03-04 0
Congratulations Canada. You have 50% tariffs now.
2025-03-04 0
He read the US governmènt for filth. He is so right. WTH with tariffs with Canada. It doesn't make sebse. Our government is acting arrogantly and condescendingly by continuing to call Trudeau 'governor' and refer to them as the 51st state.
2025-03-04 0
Money doesn't grow on trees. Can't borrow money and then forever borrow more money to pay for the interest on that money. Have to pay for that support that has already been given to Ukraine sometime and Tariffs are one way of doing that by getting that money from Americans in the USA.
2025-03-04 0
Im so sick of this clown… i thought you resigned? Its not ok to tariff “our closest friend?”\nYet canada is ripping us off by billions in trade and has zero control of their border? Is that how friends and allies act!!! The us isnt in desperate need of you canada\nAlso…. DONT EVEN TALK ABOUT RUSSIA AND PEACE OR WAR OR ANYTHING OF THE MATTER !!! YOU CANNOT EVEN PROTECT YOURSELF! We american pay to protect your pansy ass!!!
2025-03-04 0
Canada is our friendly neighbor, Trump should work with them rather than punish them with tariff. I am pro Trump but no, not this.
2025-03-04 0

Well said Canada. 1 of 2 thing I think will transpire from trumps tariffs. Canada will be economically crushed and be sucked into becoming the 51st state. 2. I think there will be Trouble in the USA. Probably a light whiff of civil war. Isn’t it amazing how just one man can cause all this tension in the world
2025-03-04 0
I can be wrong but It wouldn’t surprise me if this is not about the tariffs but a manipulation of the stock markets. Imagine trump reverses his decision again and the stock markets rises again im sure there will be some people who benefited from that #followthemoney
2025-03-04 0
When our president put tariff on the table and open negotiations…did you counter or did you go straight to retaliatory? \n\nBecause, it sounds like you failed to negotiate a deal. And went straight to retaliatory.
2025-03-04 0
If President Trump & Justin Trudeau could overcome their dislike of each other and STOP making this personal we wouldn’t be in this tariff war!!!!
2025-03-04 0
The problem here isn't temporary. Tariffs may or may not be. But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. And that's just trade and economy.\n\nThen there are many relationships worldwide which are already affected, and world leaders are poised to move on without America - leaving it isolated. The US is the most powerful country in the world and can survive alone, but even so, no country flourishes without international partnerships that both parties can rely on. Like Putin, nobody can rely on Trumps word.\n\nHe is destroying everything. And the American public are largely sitting back and watching it. \n\nWake up before it's too late.

Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

I dont get this? US puts tariffs on a country, they do the same? Is there any winnings here?
2025-03-04 0
I did not sign up for this tariff wars, Trump did. Please......

So Trudeau calls Putin a liar and a murderous dictator but we all remember a few years ago, the same PM declaring is admiration for China's dictatorship. On a trip in Europe he even downgraded is own people while trying to suck up to the Germans. A few years ago Trudeau said that Canadians didn't really have an identity and announced that he wished to make Canada the first post national country in history. I'm sorry guys, I do not like the tariffs but I just cannot stand this guy!

If we compare Trump’s tariff policies with the approach taken during Smooth-Hawley Tariff Act (1930), there are striking similarities and key differences in terms of economic impact and global consequences. Here’s a comparison:\n\nSimilarities:\n\t1.\tProtectionist Goals:\n\t•\tBoth Trump’s tariffs and the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act were implemented to protect domestic industries by imposing heavy tariffs on foreign goods.\n\t•\tSmoot-Hawley raised tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods, while Trump has imposed significant tariffs on China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU.\n\t2.\tRetaliation by Other Nations:\n\t•\tAfter the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, U.S. trading partners retaliated with their own tariffs, leading to a massive decline in U.S. exports.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are already facing retaliation from Canada, Mexico, China, and the EU, which could slow down global trade.\n\t3.\tMarket Instability & Economic Risk:\n\t•\tThe Smoot-Hawley tariffs are widely believed to have exacerbated the Great Depression by restricting global trade and worsening economic conditions.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are triggering stock market declines, price inflation, and global trade tensions, raising fears of a potential recession.

The complete disrespect this man has shown our president by calling him by his first name we are going to keep those tariffs on you until Justin Trudeau is no longer Prime Minister of Canada
