This is a total failure of the Trudeau government. There are majorly two types of ' outsiders ' that the government takes in : students and asylum seekers. Seen purely from financial viewpoint, homing and providing for the latter group makes no sense at all. They are a permanent leakage of funds without return..\nRegarding students, there are the undergrads who pay 5X times the Canadian students and they are the shock absorbers for fee burden on Canadian students. This category is precious, especially those studying in reputed colleges. Then there's the student who comes for post graduation studies, doesn't pay as much a undergrad but still a valuable resource. Then there's the diploma students who make studies as an excuse to get into the UberEATS, mcdo kind of Job market. Cap on them may be needed to protect Canadian interests. However the last category comes mainly from one province in India who has political clout in Canada, so it is the hardest to curb. Without making this distinction, if the government is going to lump all categories of students as one, then they are throwing the baby with the bathwater.\nIn any case, the person who gets the best of both worlds is the Chinese-Canadian

It's interesting to see what will happen if I post a neutral comment here. \n\n\nUndoubtedly, Germany is not a paradise on Earth, just like any other place. There are both pros and cons. Sometimes I felt like I was reading comments about a completely different country when people wrote about not being accepted by society and so on, so I decided to respond too.\n\n\nI barely speak German (my second language is English) and I have never felt any racism or disrespect towards me. Whether it was on the street or at work. I more often met friendly people who were interested in learning about my move to Germany and were always admiring and saying words of support. This cannot be faked, these things were real. \n\n\nOf course, you will experience a lot of stress when visiting the foreigners' department, as many things are unfamiliar to you and you don't have enough language skills at first.\n\n\nOf course, I would like to get paid more for my work, or at least pay less taxes. Yes, child money support exists, but it's more of a formality as it barely covers the costs of raising children. This is where I would really like to see improvements.\n\n\n\nPeople, including immigrants, cannot understand that by increasing the demand for housing, they are increasing its cost. You can't blame the country itself for this. The law of supply and demand works here.\n\n\nThose who write about their plans to move to Australia or the USA, don't forget to share your relocation experience after. interesting I live in the US, and we have the same problems here homelessness, drug overdoses, and high taxes, some states have higher taxes than others, home prices are skyrocketing, and no new homes are being built. no new low-income housing. Just a real shortage in housing period.. Yet, we have gotten so many immigrants from all over the world flooding here. I can't understand why they come. We have terrible medical care. Public schools are awful so glad I do not have children. I ask myself has the whole world gone crazy? COVID closings& forced vaccines, insane people out there driving like well like they are insane. I find myself staying home safe in my yard. Wondering why you moved to Canada? What made you think it would be happier than your home in Singapore. Which I know nothing about btw.

Honestly reading these comments & watching this video, I am proud to be from the USA... We truly give everyone a chance, everyone is welcome. All languages, colors, religions... it's funny how the media tries to make the U.S. sound racist. It is the most diverse in the world. Europeans love to act like they are supreme.... but in the end they are mostly all Nationalist & racist in their own ways. When I went to school in Germany, it was always funny how people had to make you remember you were American... in the U.S. we don't care.... we celebrate & are interested in your differences.

It’s exactly the same in Australia, and has been getting progressively worse under both left and right leaning governments. The conservative government was a disaster for housing/cost of living and the liberals haven’t been much better. The vast majority of elected legislators here are relatively wealthy landlords with substantial investment property portfolios. It’s not in their interests to fix the housing crisis. They also vote themselves huge salaries and regular pay rises. They are relatively immune to the cost of living crisis. Australian food banks and similar charities are overwhelmed. We have two main supermarket chains, Coles & Woolworths. They both perpetuate rampant price gouging with abandon. Big corporations, especially international ones, pay very little to no tax. This is happening all over the world under governments of every stripe.
