I live in the Swanton sector in Upstate NY, 5 miles south of the Canadian border. Our small town sees dozens of border crossers a day, many just wandering down our Main Street waiting to catch a ride to NYC. Several months ago, I approached a group of a dozen military age males, loitering around the gas station at the main crossroad in town. One male was on a cell phone trying to communicate with someone on the other end who was speaking very good English, meaning no perceivable accent. The cell phone male was unable to communicate with the person on the other end of the call (female voice). As I listened to the other members of the group talking, I heard several words and or phrases that sounded familiar to me (possibly Arabic). I was language trained in the military for Arabic. When I spoke to the men, their eyes lit up with recognition. They were all Muslims from Bangladesh. After several moments of chatting, I was able to discover where they were from, that they flew into Canada, were given a contact # to call after crossing and for them to make their way to NYC. My data is anecdotal but a majority of the migrants we’re are seeing here in Upstate NY are from Central Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh). Winter is quickly approaching here, and many who risk the Swanton sector route will not make it due to the extreme cold. Many of my friends who live outside of town, many farmers, are deeply concerned or frightened for the safety of their families. Many have had migrants approach their houses and attempt to gain access. Truly scary stuff. And it seems to only be getting worse.

Do you have any idea how expensive rent is in GTA? Are you telling me that those temporary workers took all those 50K jobs? LOL. Many things to unpack. Australia, which is similar to Canada, is having similar issues. The gov does not monitor at all and only actioned when the UN reported a new slave class was being created. In Surrey BC there is a shooting carried out by Indian gangs almost everyday. There is also a massive influx of Indians who simply make zero effort to learn the common language of this country: English. I am a 2nd generation Indian-Canadian, and even I struggle to communicate with these new migrants from India. Look, I'm a white Canadian, and I don't hate Indians at all. However, lately, there are far too many Indians arriving here. I live in a small town, and the vast majority of the workers in all our franchise restaurants, Walmart, hotels, etc, are Indian. Yes, some Indians really have been pooping on the beach. I've seen videos posted by Indians about Indians pooping on beaches in places like Goa. No, not all Indians do that, but it doesn't reflect well on Indians. My next-door neighbours are Indian immigrants, and stereotypically, they own a pizza franchise lol. Their children play at our house with our daughter almost every day. On a negative note, they only hire other Indians to work in their store. In general, the indians that are in Canada do need to work on their cultural integration. My neighbours brought their parents over, and they aren't even trying to learn English. I don't want Canada to become like India. Also, I dont think that most Indian immigrants really want that either, but if we keep flooding Canada with Indians, that will eventually happen.

As an Indian with Canadian citizenship cureently living in India, I feel really bad for Canadians who have seen a rapid change in demography and the nuances of various cultures mixing together. I had the option to come back to my country but second third fourth generation Canadians have no where else to go.

Canada's immigration policies of the last several years are designed to destroy Canadian culture. It seems India is the main target country that is taking advantage of these ridiculous policies, by quite a large percentage. You Indians here try to Indianize Canada. You must blend with Canadian culture and be aprt of this sociaty . You cannot change Canada to fit your desires and make it a nother Punjabi state. If thats what you want, go back to India and be that way. So far you Indians have runined BC & Canada.

While a lot of what you have said is true, we do not agree that these are people from varied areas within India. To clarify, it is 75% Punjabis+Sikhs, 24% Gujarathis, and the remaining 1% distributed from all other parts of India. Indians have shown themselves as the most uncultured of all the population across the world. The lady is not wrong about the pooping incident. There were Indians spotted doing this, and reports went silent just not to create a major issue with the political situation. It will take decades to mend the damage caused by these Indians in Canada. The well settled Canadian Indian citizens do not form a part of these uncultured Indians who have suddenly grown up in numbers in the last decade and particularly in the last 7 years..

I live in Canada, all these problems are true and also health care system is not that good and high taxes…..However, life feels secured as food, environment and roads quality is AAA grade. You can actually achieve dreams as jobs pay good, even though you can to spend in dollars but remember macbook will cost 1.25 lakh and $2000 in Canada but there is huge difference in income, same goes for cars which translates that normal middle class family can have cars like Mercedes, audi and BMW which is not achievable in India. It’s safe country you can have whatever opinions you want, women can dress whatever they want and go out anytime without being worried. By considering all those things i decided to surrender my indian passport and got Canadian one.

Immigration is literally the root of all issues we are having today. I will go as far as saying that it has been bad even before Trudeau, but Trudeau made it much worse 1000 times over. We should only bring immigrants in that: 1) Will assimilate and truly want to be Canadian. Adopt our values and traditions and speak our language. 2) Have something to offer to Canada, either fill jobs that Canadians can't fill, or have a degree or specialty that will help the country. 3) Should be from multiple countries, not just India or Philippines. 3) Should not be from a third World Country or be poor. They should have the same values as Canada to start. Otherwise they will cause trouble and crime here. \nAnything short of that should not be allowed in or should be deported. We need to control our border to protect against invasions.

The pooping on the beach is 100% accurate. they did it on Innisfil beach also. every weekend 1000 or more would show up and there would be numerous makeshift outhouses all over the beach. It cost the city 1000s every Monday to clean up their mess. My Indian parents came to Canada from Dubai in the early 80s and I grew up in Canada. The problem is, the Indians coming to Canada now are not the immigrants who used to come here. 20- 50 years ago, when immigrants came to Canada, they understood that they are moving to a new country with different laws, values and culture and they have to assimilate accordingly because they planned to call Canada home. To get into Canada, you had to have some level of higher education or investment means to help develop and add to the economy. But now, over the last 10-15 years, the kind of people coming in are straight out of the villages (mainly north Indians), with no education, low societal values, no care for assimilating and are even criminals who were wanted in India. By using Canada's study permit program, hundreds of thousands of Indians came here with the explicit plan to stay and never go back. To make matters worse, they feel now that they are in Canada, they can break the rules, break the laws and commit heinous crimes. If you look at the Toronto news now, it is ONLY Indians (mainly Punjabi's) committing most of the crimes from extortion to drug dealing to carjacking etc. Even the Indo Canadian community can't stand the people coming to Canada over the last few years, it is NOT a race issue! The issue is too many people from a different culture who don't assimilate!
