I am a Muslim and I respect Shikhs for their strong religious principles but there are places where a religious symbol that can be hazardous should not be worn.

Also the fact that he could have just worn it under his t shirt rather than display it. He felt it was cool to show off. It was not religious anymore

I speak for myself and not on behalf of anyone.\n\nFirstly, in any such situation be it any religion, caste etc, before reacting, imagine if this was happening to your own son/daughter, your own brother/sister. \n\nSecondly what faith one chooses to practice and how they embrace it, be it wearing a kirpan, a burqa, or keeping a shika(choti), etc, especially opinions like what one can or cannot wear/do, lead to more harm than good. We don't live there, it's not our religion, it's not our life, then who are we to condemn and be opinionated about them.\n\nThirdly, whether the kirpan should be allowed inside an educational campus can only be determined by the campus authorities, the local police and the Sikh community representatives there.\n\nYes, he could have and should have worn it on the inside just like so many Brahmins wear the sacred white thread (yajnopavita).\n\nHe could have taken prior permission from the college authorities to freely wear it if possible and all this could have been avoided. Maybe he doesn't get the permission to wear it, who knows, there are countless possibilities.\n\nAnd lastly, I've come across so many comments labelling the Sikhs as Khalistanis, then if there's some other incident, commenting that people of so and so faith are terrorists, etc.\n\nBy all means, please call us Khalistanis, please call us terrorists, call us anything you like, but we'll continue to respect and love everyone.\n\nIt's a shame that our Jawaans are dying on the border fighting for their country, fighting for our country, fighting for us and we are creating divisions amongst ourselves. Petty name calling and what not.\n\nWe are Indians first, any Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, or Parsi...Indian getting harassed is my brother/sister getting harassed. Isnt it supposed to be worn under cloth. If you would carry ka knife(in eyes of foreigners) then definitely its invitation for trouble. I live in punjab and have never seen someone wear a kirpan outside their clothing. See these are kind of people who are creating nuisance in Canada and making it tough for us to go. Cop did the right thing. We all know that in sikh tradition male and even female wear Kirpan which is a symbol to protect yourself when you are in serious danger. But as we see in the video the guy is wearing on top of his shirt which absolutely incorrect it has to be worn inside not from outside

it's not a knife it's worn for a religious pupose it's for his faith. Juts because you have no beliefs don't take someone else's beliefs away. God will punish anyone who messes with his religion.

28.58, unpopular opinion, its called jilbab not hijab and it's not required to be worn. In fact its states you should not wear something which will bring attention to yourself. Thus, when she wears the hijab here it's her fault bc it's not required. As it's not normal and doesn't fit the norms in Canada. However if shes from arab she must bc that's the culture there. Nowhere in the Koran does it say that women should cover their hair . It does however say it in the Christian Bible. The Burqa was originally worn by prostitutes. Pre Islam of course, but why would they want to be associated with it?

After watching this I came to the conclusion that - sadly - our First Nations - are facing the worst discrimination of all. They come to our country and refuse to accept our cultural beliefs one is that anyone covering their nose & mouth we see as a threat. Covering your face is done to hide your identity when committing a crime. Those women are lying, They cannot tell the truth because the will be shunned by their families. I know a lot of muslims and they all say the same thing, The Hijab is worn because they believe that the Quran teaches women are not equal and that they must wear the head covering so they do not Tempt men.\n\n It's basically a way of men having control over women.
