Trump launch this trade war hoping to make Canada a new US‘s State, so he just treats those losses as the costs, he thinks these costs are just much much cheaper than launching military invasion!

Trudeau’s time to shine. Despite the circus in Canadian parliament and Trump politics, he is standing proud and strong for the Canadian, American, and even Mexican people due to unacceptable action- cost of living is now greater and scarier.

Canada, tell me: What is the difference between an assistant drama teacher and a smart person? A drama teacher will fight a losing battle against an economic giant that doesn't need Canada as much as Canada needs him. For Americans, the high cost of Canadian goods will just make them turn to non-Canadian substitute products; for Canadians, we cannot help but buy US products despite the higher costs because we don't have a lot of alternatives. In the long run, Canada will cave in and become the 51st State. Why don't we skip the hardship part and just go straight to where we become part of an economic giant!

Well said. I love the USA, I have relatives who live there and in all the years of a beautiful relationship with the people of America I have never seen this situation. Mr. Trump you seem to want to conquer and divide relationships at any cost, even with people who care about you. You sabotage yourself and those who are loyal to you. I'm not sure if you understand the implications of your decisions. But I will say respectfully, there are no winners in a trade war, nor is it you that has the final say on the worlds outcome. This is God's world not yours and not ours. I'm really disappointed to see American people and Canadians hurting because of whatever the point of all of this means. But Canada is strong and we will stand up for our country. The American people are strong and they were strong before you became the President. Working together, we can take care of each other for our families and our country.

All this crap about Fentanyl is a joke. What about the Sackler family and oxycotin??? What about that cost to the American people?!! They still haven’t paid out.\n\nThis fentanyl trafficking is a front.. \n\nYou know you’re dealing with a cluster b nightmare when… if u think about them you become enraged and your blood boils

Oh no maple syrup ............nooooo . Have any of you Canadians looked into what Canada imports vs exports .......... remeber all those new green deal garbage is out the window here in the USA, so lumber is going back up , mining , etc . Just because our countries are next to each other doesn't make us neighbors......... your country has allowed trahs polices to over ride your citizen rights, you've filled your country with migrants , you support crazy sick policies allowing sexual perversion to be put before public saftey . If your countries economy is so effected by this maybe you need this , got a little to relaxed riding tr he coat tails of being next to America. And don't take it personal , this isn't about you as a country but more about American calling out americna companies who build factories only your side , get great deals for taxes and then import the products back to American at a premium retail price and then profit off the American people while offering nothing back .........the end goal is to either make thise companies pay more to get products over the boarder , or bring the factories back here and employee americans .........and last I check the Canadian government doesn't own or produce any products so the things that will be imported to usa will be the ones with a cost rise to the companies that are producing them ........ them............

From Camada\nHe leads the most corrupt government we have ever had.\nHe is complete narcissistic lying Sweer talker.\nOver 35 members of the party have left and are not seeking re-election.\nWe have the lowest dollar strength, doubled housing cost, high inflation.\nHe has added a carbon tax which makes everything more expensive and is raised every years. \nThey called a snap election during the pandemic and have given them s over 6 raises from 2020 to 2025.\nAlmost 80% over the country wanted an election and a large number of his party members wanted him to step down.\nSince then he has prorogued parliament for their own interest while intending to resign and find a new part leader.\nWhen citizens from his own country rebelled and protested against his authoritarian overreaching governance he froze thie bank accounts and call an emergency and had them removed.\nWe have the highest number of homeless we have ever had.\nTax payers pay for drug addicts safe supply.\nAnd on and on.

I'm somewhat confused though. Canadians have been suffering under high prices for years now and Trudeau never did anything to combat this. Now we want to speak up against the tariffs which is an additional price burden on top of existing outrageous costs. If we solve for tariffs, whats the plan to solve for the ridiculously high living costs.
2025-03-04 0
Justin knows all about policies that raise costs on essentials, harm national security, and impede access to natural resources, and harm families. he's been doing it for years. When he says we are all going to pull together he means he is going to raise taxes.

Tariffs seems to be everything to do with fentanyl and other drugs that is costing American and Canadian lives. Lets stay positive and totally eliminate trafficking this drug that is taking lives of many people.
2025-03-04 0
This tariff war is a stupid idea. What happened to reducing the cost of living?
2025-03-04 0
This guy talking about driving up cost. That is all he has done for Canadians is drive up cost.
2025-03-04 0
Just so it's known but America has never been self-sufficient. We have always been reliant on others with good trade and fairness towards each other. My grandparents went through ww2 and had to go through rations on everything from gas, oil to food and tires. You got a book for everything and had to tear them out to get your products. They said back 1943 they had to keep the farm and barely made it to vday. You all need to look at history and research things. These Republicans and president is gonna ruin farms and cost people to the point they will have to choose their meds or food. Never in my wildest imagination did I think we could have sunk so low and loosing allies and gaining a dictator that was a known Assassin and removed voting in Russia and here we have a guy in charge trying to imitate him. I guess criminals stick together

Trump & his imbecilic red neck supporters are a global disgrace. Look at how America is treating it’s western allies, while in the same breath calling for the lifting of sanctions against Russia. Keep your eye on U.S. inflation figures & the skyrocketing cost of living for the average American person. Wake up people & stop drinking the Trump Kool-aide.

I just just don't understand what these blanket tariffs achieve for Americans. Firstly, employment in the US is at an all time high, if the aim is to bring back primary and manufacturing industries then it's just a myth. It's just pointless and mindless. Nobody wants to go back to working in heavy industry, people want high paying, highly specialized industries, this doesn't create that, it just makes cost of living higher so wages have to go up and cost of bringing in raw materials goes up, all things that discourage start up companies that employ well educated and skilled Americans

Oh noooooooo my maple syrup is going to cost 25% more ?

Thank you emphasizing the role of municipalities in this. Unlike other jurisdictions, in Canada municipalities are responsible for all transport infrastructure and utility infrastructure with the exception of major provincial highways, airports, and electricity and gas distribution systems. Meanwhile, Canadian municipalities can only levy property taxes and no income or sales taxes. Thus, Canadian municipalities governments are very attached to property owners, leading to the political conditions that make housing harder to build and new housing more expensive. The vast majority of the policies restricting housing supply and increasing costs of new housing, like development charges on new homes to fund infrastructure instead of taxing existing property owners, onerous and restrictive zoning regulations, and slow and expensive permitting processes all come from the cities. Honestly, for many city politicians it is to their advantage to make the crisis worse. Why wouldn’t a city councillor vote to raise development charges on building new homes instead of raising property taxes on existing homes to pay for stuff like replacing life expired sewer and road and subway infrastructure!? His constituents aren’t going to care about the costs of new homes, which affect people moving to the city or younger generations, which are either not yet residents of the city or too young to vote.

I am a conservative and I admit that Donald Trump's tariffs will have a negative impact on Americans. If you think businesses are going to pay for the increased cost of importing and are not going to scale back their labor forces are raise prices you don't have an understanding of business and finance. The whole purpose of going into business is to maximize profit therefore they are going to offset the costs by raising prices on goods for Americans and vice versa. This is a trade war. Thanks.
2025-03-04 0
Get that convicted felon out of the office! The American people are in trouble. Yes, Canada will hurt. Big difference is, their leaders are going to support them. WHY did people do this to our country. Racism and Sexism is costly
2025-03-04 0
Oh dear. There was one line that has me more worried than any of them. “No matter what it costs we the federal government will be there for you.” Every time the government prints money and distributes it they decrease the value of our dollar. That’s how inflation works. Government doesn’t have any money. It takes the money from citizens and Re-distributes it. Please don’t help us by increasing government spending.
2025-03-04 0
You are exactly right Trump would rather help Russia that says Hamas is not a terrorism Russia China and Iran will invade Israel Trump would rather help Russia when Russia Helps Iran and the Terrorism hamas Trump wants to blame other countries like Ukraine saying that they're starting World War 3 it's not them it's Trump that's going to cost that World War 3
2025-03-04 0
Dont put Tariffs on the USA as they are passed onto the end user/consumer which are the American people. Put the prices up on your sale of electricity, oil and gas 25% that the US government buys, so it hits them first and they will think twice. ..... Trump never mentioned cost of living in his acceptance speech which had us wondering. This is why.
2025-03-04 0
All I know I had a bad experience with high cost living in Canada. Sounds good does not mean the people living in a good life. Actions speak louder than words.

European here. Economist, French and Hungarian diploma, and an postgrad deg in Int Relations fro Switzreland. I worked 3 years for Canada, Fed Gov. They are rational, honest people. What you USA are doing to your allies is incredibly low. Hence, the credibility is gone for this WH, and will be though job for the next to undo some of the damage. By that time, we Europe will be closer to Canada, much closer, and maybe - not desirable-. much closer to China. No, with russia -not. Until that genocdial regime your guy is in love with is zeroed. At any cost for russia. trump allies with our no1 enemy. Get the f..k rid of him and all his people asap in the interest of you all, except him and the core MAGA sect. We see whats happening there and its no joke.
2025-03-04 0
Go for it, Canada! \nThe trade war trump started is stupid, and we the PEOPLE of USA do NOT support this stupid, costly trade war.
2025-03-04 0
All we hear is how our government is saving so much money and now imposing higher tariffs, yet we’ll continue with the same tax deductions while struggling to keep up with the rising cost of everyday expenses. Meanwhile, politicians continue to tell us that this is America’s golden age?
2025-03-04 0
Funny Trump promised lowering costs but tariffs are gonna raise them.
2025-03-04 0
Canada has easy fix, do what Trump ask and stop fentanyl and illegal aliens=no more tariffs. Mexico a little more complex, in addition to the above issues add in factories being built and in mexican for sub human labor costs and making top profits in America.
2025-03-04 0
Prepare to see the price of everything rise and the cost of living become harder to achieve losers. You voted for this garbage. You Trump voters are the most unpatriotic of all of us with your inability to critically think and your parasitic relationship to Republicans and Trump. The regular people of USA will suffer now and be weakened to fight back and further demoralized against the billionaires who successfully brainwashed you into supporting billionaires.
2025-03-04 0
This is what happens when you let a businessman become a president, only thing on his mind is to make money no mater what it costs. Lets see how long this will last. Looking forwars for re-election the sooner the better. Trump cant pick sides with a terrorist and diktator, whats next, all the terrorist become US friends ?!
2025-03-04 0
I guess made in the USA cost more in Canada. \n\nThank you Governor Tee

“ smart”?! Don’t agree with that PM. Stop trying to play nice . Trump has filed for Chapter 11 plenty of times, he’s dubbed people from fake plans such as the “ school” he made up. He’s owed people money and have always hid behind his lawyers. Trump doesn’t care about us average Joe Americans. Trump’s plan with these tariffs are to cover the cost that he’ll give his corporate billionaire buddies another tax cut . Let’s not forget that he gaved the biggest corporate tax cut on American history during his 1st term and preparing another one this time around, but he’ll do it when the animosity calms down. He’s crooked as f***. And those who believe in him are completely delusional. He doesn’t pay a penny in taxes like his buddies.

Nobody is threatening Canada but now Canada cannot import from other countries and then politely sell to America Arno extra cost now they pay the price and trousseau is a bunch of garbage
2025-03-04 0
I stand for the citizens of Canada, but this man has RUINED your country…Trump is right! Canada has benefited from the US financially while we have payed the brunt of most of the costs.
2025-03-04 0
Raising tarifs is going to cost the american people idiot
2025-03-04 0
As an American, I stand with you Canada. Thank you for standing up for what's right, even if it costs us. We need to learn. ??
2025-03-04 0
No you just want to keep screwing us on trade for decades so we will deal with it you f'ing tool. I hope you shut down the electric its only hurting the blue areas anyways that are like you that most of us hate like new york. Love it your going to have inflation go out of control will love when the people wakeup and see that a loaf of bread cost you a wheel barrel of cash. We want our money back and tired of us paying and supporting the world.
2025-03-04 0
For me, this is a major wake up call. We have them an opportunity to be apart of our economy and they’ve used it to threaten us. Both Canada and Mexico. We need to bring everything back to USA and I’m ok with patriotically paying the cost of any inflationary attack from these countries so long as we take EVERYTHING back to the USA.
2025-03-04 0
Thoses maga clowns who support Trump like paying high cost for everything don't worry about them lol...
2025-03-04 0
Trudeau its time Canada starts innovating, extracting the loads of natural resources we have, trim down the government and corrupt waste, and use carbon tax money to Produce our own Green energy. Electric cars, buses, rail, solar. Were is the billions of tax and carbon tax going. Our infostructure is piss poor, high utility bills, food, cost of living and housing is unaffordable
2025-03-04 0
American here. Trump is an incompetent man! Not only is his trade war with Canada, Mexico, and China breathtakingly stupid, it also raises prices for Americans, costs American factories jobs, and isolates us from our allies. And just today, Trump paused aid/arms to Ukraine. Putin has no incentive to make concessions now, knowing that Trump has cut off arms to Ukraine. Our apologies to your Canada. We are fucked! If you could put a 100% tariff on Tesla, you'd be doing us a HUGE favor.
2025-03-04 0
How dumb can Trump be? Treating your most loyal ally and neighbour who has supported you through thick and thin like disposable garbage. This is gonnna cost Trump potentially his presidency with the tarrif he imposing on their trading partners.
2025-03-04 0
The Trump recession began yesterday. I fully support our great neighbor to the North, and my favorite foreign country in the world. Canada did not pick this fight, Trump did.\nTo everyone that voted for Trump, don’t complain as our economy descends into a chaotic recession, people get screwed out of Social Security and Medicaid, gas prices go up and groceries cost more. \nYou made a mistake. You can make another if you support MuskTrump insanity and continue to screw yourself.

It's more than time for Canada to turn themself to electric Chinese car at around CAD 5K with quality comparable to Tesla and so many more affordable goods and products from diverse countries of Asia including cheaper chips, GPU, CPU, etc... with the green, affordable and available electricity in huge quantity who could place Canada at the first rank in AI development without speaking about it Geo position reducing latency, Crypto mining at the lower cost around the entire world, the world largest rear earth elements and so many more. By stopping to cooperate with a vicious country which has the philosophy of eliminating the concurrency until to collaborate for the exponential growth of each other's. It's clear that the target of the US was to force the Canada to be producing goods and service to the US consummation at a price so low that will have turn Canada in a third world country which the US could invade or exploit as it will, like they did all around the world by bombing and even committing genocide using proxy to stole the resource of so many nations around the world. So obviously they deal with Russia on how to rob the richest from Europeans nation like Ukraine as it is clear that the US is now looking to make the entire world economy fall for their own profit. Canada must lead in the fight against the American imperialisms pushing for a world embargo against the US and become at the same time one of the richest nations in the world if not the richest one. while for the US citizens to invest all their money in BTC to ensure that they will not fall down with their government and economy.

Yep it's going to be interesting \nAs I work for an international Automotive injection molding company based here in the US\nWe import Raw materials from Europe and China plus within the US and who knows where these materials come from.\nBut we also export finished products and materials to Europe, China, Canada, Mexico just to name afew.\nThat is a lot of tariffs placed on these products and that doesn't include tax, cost of labor, manufacturing costs\ngoing to be interesting what the future holds
