i hope you can stand the eventuality and significant economic and interpersonal effect this will promote. i agree principally with none of this, its unnecessary and extremist in leaning. but i can stand it and saw this ahead of time as eventual. my question is can you stand these economic effects . did they ask you on the campaign trail? well . i also suspect as an independent that we will be both affected and tested. Consider those in power in government and big business who see to these situations becoming realities for American citizens , remember they live in mansions and have generational wealth. they can lose billions and withstand it. They will not now or ever feel the effects of their poorly thought through actions. we will. we will have to. I'll never ask anyone to do something i wont.i suspect our leading majority which i came from formerly up until this point wont balance this situation. keep that in mind.

We had it coming to us. We sold goods to the US. The US would never do that to us. Well, I guess I’ll drive my F150 to Walmart and then grab a burger at McDonald’s. ??

How about that to increase cost and money in Canada again you won’t do that. We’ll have a fight with Donald Trump now I’ll tell you you won’t win. God is in control. Evil has no authority anymore and there’s nothing that these evil leads can do they’re swamp is being drained as we speak.

Thanks Trump! Thanks to your tariffs in Mexico as well, we had to lay off a bunch of coworkers at the beer distributor that I work for! Since we aren’t selling as much imported beer, we had to downsize the company for the first time in over 20 years! Thank you Trump! Now I have to wonder if I’ll be next in line due to lay offs right before my baby arrives. Thank you so much Trump and to the uneducated Trump voters.\n\n?

When was the last time an advanced economy actually started to trend backward while everyone else was pulling ahead? Brazil? Venezuela? Performative, shallow, and stunningly unqualified is probably the best way to describe our administration for the last 10 years. Looking forward to a new chapter but with the Damocles' sword of tariffs and annexation hanging over our heads, well, maybe soon we'll be wishing things were only as f**ked as they were in 2024...

When people asks what it means to be Canadian, I say it means not to come here and impose your religious and cultural traditions on other Canadians who have been here for over 400 years (ya, I know some people will comment on this and say what about what the colonialists did to the indigenous people, and I’ll say ya but we conquered this land - shiity but that’s reality). If you love your culture and religions so much, why didn’t you stay in your native country. Can you imagine going to an eastern country trying to assert your own beliefs and traditions and not not honouring their culture?! Good luck with that. I’m not religious but this country was founded on Christian beliefs. Imagine going to an eastern country and… well you know what I mean.

Little do they know they'll be kicked out of our soon to be 51st state as well. ?

I used to think Pres. Trump was being too hard on Canada then I got a look at the tariffs they impose on our goods. Some as high as 250%. I think Trump just wants a level playing field and a lot of help from Canada on the border. I think Poilievre feels the need to talk tough in response but I think he really wants the same things as Trump. I hope Poilievre becomes PM because he's conservative and I think he'll work well with Trump as they're both conservative nationalists.

Regardless of race/culture if your coming from a third world county that has no traffic laws, poor education with little to no English let alone money don't come here asking for hand outs well driving the cost of rent and car insurance up, you'll just end up on a 6ixbuzz post and be mocked. Would highly suggest move back to your country and deal with your government and maybe just maybe consider birth control.

CNN, how about reporting on the $20 million given to Iraq to promote LGBTQ agenda through a Sesame Street play? I think American citizens would like to hear about that but I’m sure they’ll never hear about it through your propaganda media.\n\nRemember, politico was being funded by our tax dollars without our knowledge. I’m sure CNN has their hand in the pot as well.?

Well there goes musks India’s tech and engineers that are supposed to take American jobs lmao. In case these people didn’t understand, I’ll put it in plan English, no one cares who you were treated! You came into our country illegally! That’s a crime. Get your crap and get out! Now you’re at least back in your country where you can cry all you want! Go play in the dirt!

Trump says EU tariffs will ‘definitely happen’ as Mexico, Canada and China retaliate
\nTrump takes softer line on UK, saying ‘I think that one can be worked out’, while Mexico and Canada vow levies and to strengthen ties with each other

\nDonald Trump has threatened to widen the scope of his trade tariffs, repeating his warning that the European Union – and potentially the UK – will face levies, even as he conceded that Americans could bear some of the economic brunt of a nascent global trade war.
\n
\nIt comes as Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, announced on Saturday, sparked retaliation from all three countries. Mexico and Canada have vowed levies of their own while China and Canada are seeking legal challenges.
\n
\nTrump said on Sunday night that new tariffs on the EU will “definitely happen”, repeating previous complaints about the large US trade deficit with the bloc and his desire for Europe to import more American cars and agricultural products.
\n

\n“It will definitely happen with the European Union, I can tell you that,” he told reporters. “I wouldn’t say there’s a timeline but it’s going to be pretty soon.”
\n
\nTrump appeared to take a softer line on the UK, citing a good relationship with prime minister Keir Starmer while saying tariffs still “might happen”. “The UK is out of line but I’m sure that one, I think that one can be worked out,” he said.
\n
\n“Well Prime Minister Starmer’s been very nice, we’ve had a couple of meetings, we’ve had numerous phone calls, we’re getting along very well, we’ll see whether or not we can balance out our budget.”
\n
\nIn Canada, the department of finance published a list of US products imported into Canada that it will target with a 25% retaliatory tariff starting on Tuesday.
\n
\nThe list shows products that will be hit in the first round of retaliatory tariffs by Canada starting on Tuesday, and mounts to $30bn Canadian dollars’ worth of goods (about US$20bn). The impacted products include tobacco, produce, household appliances, firearms and military gear.
\n
\nCanada is also preparing for a second, broader round of retaliatory tariffs in 21 days that will target an additional C$125bn (US$86bn) worth of US imports. The second list would include passenger vehicles, trucks, steel and aluminum products, certain fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, dairy products and more.

\nClaudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s president, said her government will provide more details on the retaliatory tariffs she ordered on US goods on Monday. Sheinbaum, in a statement on Sunday, said she will announce details on her government’s “plan B” as she insisted that Mexico “doesn’t want confrontation”.
\n
\n“Problems are not addressed by imposing tariffs, but with talks and dialogue,” she said. “Sovereignty is not negotiable: coordination yes, subordination no.”
\n
\n'Coordination yes, subordination no': Mexican president responds to Trump's tariffs – video
\nSheinbaum and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau spoke by phone on Saturday after Trump’s administration imposed the new tariffs – 25% on goods from Canada and Mexico, with a lower rate of 10% for Canadian oil, and 10% on imports from China.
\n
\nTrudeau’s office said in a statement that Canada and Mexico agreed “to enhance the strong bilateral relations” between their countries. Canadian officials have had extensive dialogue with their Mexican counterparts, but a senior Canadian official said he would not go as far as to say the tariff responses were coordinated.
\n
\n“Now is the time to choose products made right here in Canada,” Trudeau posted Sunday on X. “Check the labels. Let’s do our part. Wherever we can, choose Canada.”
\n
\nTrump acknowledged the sweeping tariffs he has imposed on Mexico, Canada and China may cause “short term” pain for Americans as global markets reflected concerns the levies could undermine growth and reignite inflation. Asian markets, cryptocurrencies and US and European stock futures slumped in early Asian trading on Monday.
\n
\n“We may have short term some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the United States has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said. day, Trudeau said: “We’re certainly not looking to escalate, but we will stand up for Canada.” However on Sunday evening, a senior government official from Canada briefing reporters in Ottowa on condition of anonymity said: “We will obviously pursue the legal recourse that we believe we have through the agreements that we share with the United States.”
\n
\nThe official said the Canadian government considered the move by Trump illegal and said it violates the trade commitments between the two countries under their free trade agreement and under the World Trade Organization.
\n
\n“If other legal avenues are available to us, they will be considered as well,” the official said.
\n
\nCanada is the largest export market for 36 states, and Mexico is the largest trading partner of the US.
\n
\nCanada and Mexico ordered the tariffs despite Trump’s further threat to increase the duties charged if retaliatory levies are placed on US goods.
\n
\nChina also said it would file a lawsuit against the tariffs. The imposition of tariffs by the US “seriously violates” World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement, urging the US to “engage in frank dialogue and strengthen cooperation”.
\n
\nFiling a lawsuit with the WTO would be a largely symbolic move that Beijing has also taken against tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles by the EU.
\n
\nThe commerce ministry also said the tariffs were “not only unhelpful in solving the US’s own problems, but also undermine normal economic and trade cooperation”. China has said it would take countermeasures to “safeguard its own rights and interests”. It is not clear exactly what form these will take yet. But for weeks Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has said Beijing believes there is no winner in a trade war.
\n
\nLate Sunday night, Trump said he would speak with Trudeau on Monday morning and shortly after said he would speak with Mexico as well, although he did not specify that he would speak with Sheinbaum.
\n
\nBeyond the official response, people were already thinking of ways to cope with Trump’s decision, including by sharing suggestions on social media for alternatives to US products.

\nOne fan at the Raptors game chose to sit during the anthem while wearing a Canada hat. Joseph Chua, who works as an importer, said he expects to feel the tariffs “pretty directly”. “I’ve always stood during both anthems. I’ve taken my hat off to show respect to the American national anthem, but today we’re feeling a little bitter about things,” he said, adding that he will start to avoid buying US products.
\n
\nIn the streets, people in Mexico were trying to absorb the announcement on Sunday, although some in the capital acknowledged that they were unaware of the measures.
\n
\nIn the border city of Mexicali, across from Calexico, California, some people were concerned about the wider implications of a trade war.
\n
\nDriver Alejandro Acosta says that he crosses the border weekly in his truck to deliver vegetables to US companies. He said he fears US businesses in the Mexicali Valley will no longer want to operate in Mexico and they will move to the US.
\n
\n“If they raise taxes on the factories here, jobs may also decrease,” he said.

This is absolutely the stupidest law ever. These people are thieves and felons and should be thrown directly in prison. Obviously this woman has plenty of money and this man does too why because they don’t pay their rent. I would place a lien on this guys business and if he wants to keep it and not make a bad name for himself, he’ll pay up. The woman I would take her to the cleaners she’s very well groomed and dressed, beautiful weave, keeps up on her looks, that’s for sure. Take her to court and sue the crap out of her too…losers!

First “They” say that US Tariffs will hurt the US Citizenry.\nSecond “They” seek to impose Tariffs ON the USA to hurt the US Citizenry (apparently NOT “hurting” Their Own Citizens?) \nThe USA has Specific Goals behind the tariffs (Border & Drug Control) do Mexico &/or Canada have Specific Goals as well?\n\nPersonally, I think if the US Citizenry backs down on outright Consumerism, We’ll find there’s a lot We Don’t (and Never) Needed.\nIf this version of “War” continues long enough, We will find that We can fulfill pretty much ALL of Our Own Needs … if not “Wants”.

But, but they vote democrat. What will the DNC do if they can't import voters? Well, they'll lose elections and the U.S. will benefit.
|

They'll get off the plane, and go right back to the US and try again.
\nIn fact. MORE will now attempt it seeing that if they get caught, they'll simply get a free plane ride home.
\nHell, if I was one of them, I'd be doing it as well!! This is good news for illegals.
\nAnd just look at the number of people in here supporting this ridiculous strategy from Trump.
\nLol, you idiots are dumb as dirt to think this will help stop illegals coming into your country.
\nIt's going to INCREASE it. And it will cost you millions every year without end.
\nLive and never learn.

I can't believe that so many young children can be seen here! That's such a dangerous situation for parents to put them in! Apply for citizenship the right way so you can bring your family safely! Then, when your family is here with proper documentation, you'll be able to raise them in security without fear of deportation. I hate to see children going through this. They're at the mercy of their parents' judgement & things could be so much better for them if they weren't dragged through traumatic situations like this, just so their parents can cut corners. Why in the world can't you apply for citizenship the proper way? If your criminal record is the reason that you can't, well that's on you. If there are records of you pulling crap like this, you'll probably never be able to get here the proper way. Instead of choosing to be an actual American citizen, you'd rather choose to live your life as a fugitive & force your kids to live that way too? Give your family a real chance here by following the proper process to become citizens. You'll get a very different reception here.

Colombia's President said >>>> Trump, I don't really like travelling to the US, it's a bit boring, but I confess that there are some commendable things. I like going to the black neighbourhoods of Washington, where I saw an entire fight in the US capital between blacks and Latinos with barricades, which seemed like nonsense to me, because they should join together.
\n
\nI confess that I like Walt Whitman and Paul Simon and Noam Chomsky and Miller
\n
\nI confess that Sacco and Vanzetti, who have my blood, are memorable in the history of the USA and I follow them. They were murdered by labor leaders with the electric chair, the fascists who are within the USA as well as within my country
\n
\nI don't like your oil, Trump, you're going to wipe out the human species because of greed. Maybe one day, over a glass of whiskey, which I accept, despite my gastritis, we can talk frankly about this, but it's difficult because you consider me an inferior race and I'm not, nor is any Colombian.
\n
\nSo if you know someone who is stubborn, that's me, period. You can try to carry out a coup with your economic strength and your arrogance, like they did with Allende. But I will die in my law, I resisted torture and I resist you. I don't want slavers next to Colombia, we already had many and we freed ourselves. What I want next to Colombia are lovers of freedom. If you can't accompany me, I'll go elsewhere. Colombia is the heart of the world and you didn't understand that, this is the land of the yellow butterflies, of the beauty of Remedios, but also of the colonels Aureliano Buendía, of which I am one, perhaps the last.
\n
\nYou will kill me, but I will survive in my people, which is before yours, in the Americas. We are peoples of the winds, the mountains, the Caribbean Sea and of freedom.
\n
\nYou don't like our freedom, okay. I don't shake hands with white slavers. I shake hands with the white libertarian heirs of Lincoln and the black and white farm boys of the USA, at whose graves I cried and prayed on a battlefield, which I reached after walking the mountains of Italian Tuscany and after being saved from Covid.
\n
\nThey are the United States and before them I kneel, before no one else.
\n
\nOverthrow me, President, and the Americas and humanity will respond.
\n
\nColombia now stops looking north, looks at the world, our blood comes from the blood of the Caliphate of Cordoba, the civilization of that time, of the Roman Latins of the Mediterranean, the civilization of that time, who founded the republic, democracy in Athens; our blood has the black resistance fighters turned into slaves by you. In Colombia is the first free territory of America, before Washington, of all America, there I take refuge in its African songs.
\n
\nMy land is made up of goldsmiths who worked in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs and of the first artists in the world in Chiribiquete.
\n
\nYou will never rule us. The warrior who rode our lands, shouting freedom, who is called Bolívar, opposes us.
\n
\nOur people are somewhat fearful, somewhat timid, they are naive and kind, loving, but they will know how to win the Panama Canal, which you took from us with violence. Two hundred heroes from all of Latin America lie in Bocas del Toro, today's Panama, formerly Colombia, which you murdered.
\n
\nI raise a flag and as Gaitán said, even if it remains alone, it will continue to be raised with the Latin American dignity that is the dignity of America, which your great-grandfather did not know, and mine did, Mr. President, an immigrant in the USA,
\n
\nYour blockade does not scare me, because Colombia, besides being the country of beauty, is the heart of the world. I know that you love beauty as I do, do not disrespect it and you will give it your sweetness.
\n
\nFROM TODAY ON, COLOMBIA IS OPEN TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, WITH OPEN ARMS, WE ARE BUILDERS OF FREEDOM, LIFE AND HUMANITY.
\n
\nI am informed that you impose a 50% tariff on the fruits of our human labor to enter the United States, and I do the same.
\n
\nLet our people plant corn that was discovered in Colombia and feed the world

Give the break down by reason for rejection. That's the real story. This story is more about Indians believing they are entitled because of the size of our economy. We'll that can only get you so far. If you lack civic sense, if you lack education, if you lack financial means, if you lie or plan to migrate well then you deserve to be rejected.

I can't help but feel there is a entirely biased narrative going on here the problem with the pandemic is that it left people who had some mental issues. I bet too much time on the internet and unfortunately fell down the rabbit hole of a lot of Russian push propaganda and that's what I'm feeling here. You're talking about taxes and not benefiting yet. I'm sure you've gone to the hospital several times and are not $300,000 in debt from a month stay the part of having benefits like that. + A decent social net is paying taxes you can look at the Philippines as a place that's as corrupt and remove social services and can see what happens there when there is a disaster. The only aid that comes in is through international charities or expats donating you'll be moving to Bulgaria and you'll notice that European taxes are pretty much on par with Canadians You're far too young to be buying into Trump russian-backed propagandab and I'm hoping with whatever's happened you personally and proves so your judgment can as well too. I wish you well Cheers

A nice down to earth gentleman brings you your food, you don't have two good words for him !! \nI'd give you $20 bucks back because you're very poor. Send me your details.\n\nMan is making honest living and doesn't get mad after so much ? You'd watch out, this guy may become someone important.\n\nBeta laal mehnat karo. Yeh khud royenge.\n\nYou poor thing, on your death bed there will be many healthcare professionals, for sure more than one will be Indian, they'll still treat you well, you'll feel bad that day but he will be doing better that day.

Yeah the government is going hard after immigrants right now, which is good because there was a lot of abuse and the rate of immigration was far too high, but also it's not the root of the problem where housing is concerned. \n\nIn this way, immigrants are a scapegoat for the housing crisis. They're being offered up as sacrificial lambs to the slaughter by our politicians in the hopes that it will appease voters. But at the same time our politicians also hoping that we don't notice how little they're doing to actually solve the real fundamental problems.\n\nBut solving those problems will require a complete shift in our approach to the finance sector and the tax code, as well as towards city planning and housing policy in general. These are things we can achieve. But not without significant adjustments to the status quo. And if there's one thing the status quo hates, it's changes to the status quo.\n\nSo here's what I expect from our politicians in years to come: more of the same empty promises and half measures. They'll keep doing that until there's a massive market correction and everyone in Canada loses their shirt. And then they'll continue doing the same empty promises and half measures, while hypocritically blaming the rival party for their own failures.

I can already hear impeachment coming and guess what he hasn't even been in office yet seriously voted for that man and guess what now we're all going to have to pay the price do you know that price is we're probably going to have to go to war with each other the reason I'm saying this because one you're going to have a bunch of angry f****** Americans storming that Dan capital and this time it won't be for Trump know it'll be to get Trump's ass as well as to get his cabinet buddies
|

Well, of course she is gonna say all that because President Trump hasn't taken office yet. Just wait until the end of January. She'll change her tune real quick. \n\nTRUMP ?? ?

Trumponomics means artificially making tariffs impossible to pay and frustrating Americans from buying import goods so that we'll turn entirely to domestic production.\n\nTrumponomics also has a geopolitical aspect, in that super-high tariffs as well as tariff exemptions can be leveraged as political blackmail or reward, respectively, to influence other countries to toe the Trump line.

You guys have no idea how powerful Mexico is, in the economy... jutst look to Europe's economy; thanks to all expresidents that have enreached their economy by their corrupt moves sending their billions to Europe while and after their president terms, and later they move to Europe(away from legal prosecutions). This is just one country, but if you now count all latinoamerican countries that have done the exact same thing... well, now you know how Europe is enreached. If only the current president does the right things... You'll see the real México's economy power.?

Why doesn't CNN talk about how tariffs raise prices for Americans??? Seriously, a lot of the problems we are facing now, is because media like CNN, isn't telling what exactly this stuff does, they normalize and that's why Americans are unaware of what tariffs really do. Also, Mexico has said they'll deport Americans that are there as well.

Well I hope she has Trump phone number for when she down in the dumps and needs help from a loved one. The one she sent back. She forgets back then it was so easy to become a citizen. Now it’s very costly and takes a long time for the process to go through. We’ll see how she feels in the near future
|
| 2024-11-17 | 0 |
Pure definition of a cult, giving everything up, including those within your family for the ideals of your leader. She’s a loyal one. She’ll serve him well, likely as a translator to those being deported.

This lady thinks she's safe under a Donald Trump presidency. He'll send her back as well without blinking twice.
|

Oh, well. I wonder if she'll get caught up in the roundup? She's been here for years, yet her accent is heavy.
|
| 2024-11-14 | 0 |
She's obviously have been brainwashed to believe the false narrative that's spewed by Trump. She doesn't even realize that the overwhelming majority of immigrants come here authorized just like she did. She also don't realize that he's not just going after immigrants who are here unauthorized but authorized as well. When she's profiled based on what she looks like and is shipped to the border to get deported despite being here authorized, she'll regret these words.

I know I'll probably get flack for this, but if he's planning a mass deportation. Trump better round up the Asians', Europeans', and Blacks as well. Absolutely violent and sexual crimes committed by illegals should be automatic deportation.

I guess she didn't hear the part about nationalized people, such as herself, being on the proverbial chopping block as well. She'll be deported along with her cousins. Now that's gonna make for some tense holidays back in her country of origin! ?

Well at least all these people who are saying that immigrants are stealing their jobs can get their field working jobs back. Low pay & I don’t know if they get insurance or 401K’s but they’ll be getting their jobs back. And there won’t be any retirement if social security is taken away.

I hope she enjoyed her visit here in America for the last 20+ years of her life... Dont worry lady, you'll still see your family as they stare at you the entire ride out of here, cause you're going as well. I'm a black man in S Louisiana, where Creoles are all over, and they still tried to get me deported the first time he was in office thinking I was Mexican.

He'll start with Black immigrants, because they are the easiest target and it will appease his many Klansmen. Next will be Hispanics because he doesn't believe they are well liked. Thirdly, he will target people from the Middle East and Asians countries. Lastly, he'll get the rest of the people he doesn't like.
