Trudeau has not been a good Prime Minister. He took the Liberal Party (historically a centrist party) further left, wasted billions of dollars during Covid and put punishing carbon taxes on Canadian citizens. Having said that, this IS his finest hour and he and most of the provincial Premiers have shown a solidarity and strength that will prove to the US that their northern neighbour is not the pushover they thought they were. It's up to the American people to rectify this situation.

Are the tariffs fair to Canada? As a German - apart from the content which is no less than justified - just technically comparing Trudeau´s speech with Donald Trump´s verbal outcome - what an incredible difference in niveau & tone. Isn't it almost tragic how little skill it took to run the U.S and even worse, how low the common-sense-threshold must be for a half of the American people to make this happen a second time. Embarrassing.

Trudeau took pains to distinguish between everyday decent Americans just trying to get by and their unhinged government which is leading them into economic and political ruin. As a Canadian who has traveled extensively in the US, and has friends there, I hope American citizens can save themselves.

Canadians are reasonable, so is it fair that Trudeau is increasing our carbon taxes another 20% next month? Please reason that neon double standard. He’s literally the worst PM in Canadian history. \nIn Nov 2024 the BIGGEST drug bust in Canadian history took place in BC. The amount of fentanyl alone would have killed the entire population of Canada TWICE. International cartels involved. So if it takes tariffs to make our borders safe, that’s on Trudeau, not Trump. This security should have been sorted out a long time ago.

Trudeau said it - it’s all because of one guy. Throw Trump and all of his toadies out and let’s get back to business together. He is dismantling your country and these tariffs are simply one mechanism that he’s using to ruin the US. The media can spin this however they wish, but the essential truth is that finally we are taking steps to regain control over two areas that have been completely mis-managed over the past number of years. \n\nA cutback in the number of refugees and immigrants? That signifies that once again Canada has borders. A country is defined by its borders. Trudeau took ours down causing an immigration and refugee free for all. Now he is being forced to correct that.\n\nA reduction in the number of federal public servants? The government has used federal public service hiring to make its jobs numbers look better. These jobs are mostly high paying and effectively unproductive in that they do not generate anything to improve the economy. Rather than contributing to the economy, they draw on it. That has been a drag Canada cannot afford.\n\nIt is about time changes like these are made on a large scale.

It is incumbent upon the Canadian government to screen out those applicants who received fake admission letters upon arrival or even before departing for Canada - at the Indian airport of departure. Clearly the priority of the Canadian government was to allow one and all in so as to benefit from the exorbitantly high tuition fees charged to international students - so scrutiny of offer letters took a back seat. The recent crack down on international students (after such a long time) especially in the wake of the impending elections makes Canadians highly skeptical. This is nothing but damage control by the Trudeau government now that they are faced with the prospect of a decimation at the general elections. They needed a scapegoat - what better than to blame international students....the outsider - sound familiar?

Seriously, this is an absolutely disgraceful and pathetic attack by the liberals. Here is the cold hard fact. The government controls immigration. The government controls who and how many. The liberals have been granting student visas for years, literally unchecked in both numbers and who they were given to. The schools merely took in however many the liberals let in. Hundreds of thousands of them. Had trudeau set a reasonable cap to begin with, then the schools would only be accepting that capped number. The more trudeau let in, the more the schools took on. This wasnt the fault of the schools. This is an absolute direct result of the liberal government completely screwing up the immigration system. \n\nNot only did trudeau let in far too many students which blew up school enrolment, but it messed up the entire employment system, healthcare system and housing market. Not to mention that it drained the foodbanks and students were using them as their grocery store. Now we have hundreds of thousands of international students demanding trudeau support them, give them housing, jobs and citizenship. To say trudeau completely wrecked immigration doesnt even come close to what has resulted. The entire country is now reeling from this, and it will take decades to resolve the consequences. \n\nTrudeau is despicable. This is a total failure of the Trudeau government. I work in two trucking companies and many drivers are Indians and are always very nice to me. I don't have a problem with them coming here to Canada to live and earn a good living . BUT please obey the same laws as we have here in CANADA this is OUR COUNTRY not yours. If you cant obey by our laws than you have no rights to our country.\nThis is suppose to be a peaceful country BUT now its becoming a war zone for everybody from different countries entering here and thinking they can come and change our country good looks and laws to fit them.\nWell I say you don't like our laws than go back to your country and stay there. If the situation was reversed, we were living in an impoverished country and were invited to immigrate to another country with better opportunities, I know damn well Canadians would jump at it, so I can't blame Indians for coming here. The fault lies squarely on Trudeau for bringing in more immigrants than Canada's population can handle and even more so, not providing housing driving housing prices and rents up. As far as pooping on the beach goes, I am sorry, where there is smoke there is usually fire and as even bleeding heart Liberals have claimed, it is acceptable in India, so pretty good chance someone took liberties here. As far as I am concerned, if you choose to immigrate to a country, you should follow it's laws. It may have just been one or two Indians who did, but as ambassadors of your country, you are responsible for people's perception of you and hatred directed towards your people as a result of your actions is your responsibility, not our fault.

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. So just so you know, brampton used to actually be white and then black was actually the second largest population and everybody else was after that. And then in the last 10 years they started coming but it wasn't in hundreds of thousands and then in the last 2 years it blew up insanely. As that man described is like an invasion. I now live on the West Coast of Canada and the same thing has happened here. And it's been a lot for me Canadian born. I've always grew up with every culture. I've lived and worked around the Indians that used to come here were literally not even on the radar. I mean you see them, but you just they just blended in because most of them had assimilated and were doing their lives. The breed that has come over specifically in the last 2 years is what is making it even worse cause if they acted like the ones who came before 10 -20 -30 years ago. They probably wouldn't stand out, but then again when you bring in almost a million, into all of Canada, they would stand out, but maybe people wouldn't be so agitated, if they had tried to assimilate and be respectful to the other cultures here and that is the number one complaint I hear anytime, I see interviews. Is people saying they don't assimilate? They're very rude to anybody who is not them. They are just interacting with the environment. The way they do at home, Canadians are more quiet and try to be respectful of other cultures. We like to just have their own space and our own peace when they're moving throughout this space and a lot of people describe the energy of the Indians coming in almost evasive into your space and then not really carrying anything about invading ur space. They act like, so what's the big deal if I'm in your space and that has been the number one issue is just the rudeness. Not assimilating and imposing their culture, speaking their language, not attempting to integrate with other cultures showing actually a lot of racism to some of the other cultures. And that has been the biggest problem. So just so you know, cause I can tell you're young. I'm North 40 years old and I can tell you. The demographic change has been so intense everywhere in Canada especially in the last 2 years. That I have even seen podcast with Indian people who have been here 10 -20-30 years, saying the government needs to figure out a way and get a good swath of these people gone because they are. Staining them with a negative brush. Cause I can tell you. It's only in the last 5 years. That I notice Indians. I've grown up around every culture. And I just don't notice individual cultures in that way. Until in 2022, Trudeau took the guard railsl off the foreign worker program and the student Visa working program. And just said Hey, anybody want to come bum rush the door now? And India is known for having middlemen in India that work with Fake Diploma Mills scholls with brampton having over 80 of them that the middlemen work scamming Indians by telling them if they pay anywhere from $5000 all the way up to $50,000 even higher to get fake school acceptance letters, so they can come here to get the word permit and work full-time or with companies that provide fake LMIA job offers on the black market, which is illegal under the I.R.C.C, but that is a thing that they had prior to 2022. And when Trudeau took the guards rails off when it comes the requirements and basically. Made it a free-for-all and as India already had the scamming infrastructure in place that kept their population moderate and it just allowed th scammers to go nuts, so that's why we got mostly Indians. Other cultures do it too, but it's so tiny. It's not noticeable. The Indians already had the infrastructure in place that when they took off the guard rails, it was easy for them to switch and start selling these opportunities to go to these fake schools was over 80 of them in brampton t such a lightening speed. Hence why we got slammed so hard-and-fast with that specific community.That just really we're coming here to work and send money home and that is also why a lot of our banks are now struggling with cash reserved because they're sending money home. So just thought I'd give you that angle. I understand you're doing it from your culture's perspective mostly but you're missing a whole bunch of information. Trudeau has taken the Multi out of “Multiculturalism” Canadians and Indians have different values and if we Canadians mention this we are shamed and labeled as racist. I have a few Indian friends and they even say that immigration to Canada from India has gone out of balance. Many Indian people don’t assimilate into western living and many try to find loopholes they can exploit. I don’t like that Sikh men can bring daggers to places like the gym, it makes me feel uncomfortable working out beside someone with a big knife. Indian people wearing a Turban don’t have to wear helmets when riding their motorcycles. If a white Canadian took a big hunting knife into a gym they would be escorted out by the RCMP, and would be ticketed and fined for not wearing a motorcycle helmet. While sitting with one of my Indian friends he mentioned how he would hate to be me, I asked him why, he said as an Indian he can do what he wants and if I say anything I’m shamed and considered a racist. ??

Young Canadians needed the job . This Trudeau government allowing them to enter Canada . Crimes went up and young teenager committing crimes . Hi Guys,\n\nI did live in Canada for 10 years and I left because of the cost of living.\nI had my own plumbing company and before I left I closed down my business and worked for a plumbing company full time and they paid me $42/h\nAlso my wife was making $32/h\n\nWe made decent money But Trudeau took half of it.\nMy car insurance was $4700 per year, rent for a bungalow just the top floor (3 bed 1 bath) $2400 in Calgary plus utilities plus we had another family renting basement, bungalow like apartment building.\n\nIt’s not worth it, I am a plumber and gas fitter (red seal) well educated individual with 20 plus year experience and my wife is social worker with 20 year experience and we both speak fluent and English. Most people thought that we were Canadian even though English not our first language\n\nTrudeau doesn’t want experienced and educated people.\nCanada is a rip off

Since Trudeau took power the population of Canada went from 35 to 41 million or 6 million people. That is more than the population of BC or Alberta. Has Canada built another BC or Alberta in terms of housing and infrastructure in the last 9 years? Quick answer is no. No one hates immigration, but it has to be done at a sustainable level. What he has done to this country is criminal.
