Trump has made Trudeau the brave hero. One is ruining the US and the other has ruined Canada

I guess there is no point in admitting we should have increased our pipeline capacity , got a pipeline through Quebec , made a deal with Japan and other countries for our LNG , worked to remove interprovincial trade barriers , improved our border security , kept our deficit spending under control . Now the error of our past decisions are apparent no one to blame but ourselves .

I must admit that despite my reservations about Mr. Trudeau, I can only stand in solidarity with the statements made here. Politics should not be a matter of ego, trade wars, or personal disagreements, as it is ultimately the people who, unfortunately, remain the eternal victims of these trivial battles. \n\nAs a French citizen, I can therefore only join this fight against political absurdity, which Mr. Trudeau has led here with both tact and courage. The US is isolating itself from the world. It is indeed the strongest and the richest country. But the decisions, the current admin has made will damage the United States. Specifically the people of the estates with or without knowing, they will pay for the cost caused by the wrong decision made by MAGA. This is really sad to see how they divide themselves and the world. Only a few of idiots has gotten so much power to harm normal people who are only interested in living a peace and happy life with loved ones or their own family but now their suffer just started.

Trudeau does not represent Canadians. He has had a minority government for years. Trudeau was finally forced to resign months ago. He should not be speaking on our behalf. He suspended parliament and refuses to call an election. No decision / agreement can be made re. Tariffs, etc. because technically we have no leadership right now. Tariffs have been threaten for months, and the Liberals have made no moves to do what’s right for Canada. He is using this as an opportunity to regqin power. He is not a man of the people.

I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

This is how a President should present their country and people when speaking. What I don’t get is someone likes to point fingers at other countries for the “drug problem “ in America however no fingers are being pointed at us for all the drugs being made in America. I have to disagree with a point made by the Prime Minister; Donald Trump is not a smart guy. He's a dangerous moron and a con man. I don't know what else we Americans need to see to learn this plain truth. If I were Canadian, regardless of my political persuasions, this is a speech and a stance to be proud of.

As a Canadian, this made me feel very patriotic :) I once heard someone say that Justin’s father possesses him in times of crisis, and that’s why he gives such rousing speeches despite being criticized for being a bit passive at other times, but I’ll give Justin full credit for this one.

Cars, for example, are made by american countries anyway (Ford, GM etc). Australia is being punished for aluminium exports to the US. And the largest company involved in this.....ALCOA. Another american company. The orange one and his stupiid sidekick seem to have no idea how international trade works, especially if you are punishing mostly american internationals. Canada is in trouble. Joining with the US would help both countries. Detroit would benefit from Canadians moving there, as would other US cities along the border. Canadians would get a place to live, and the US cities would be cleaned up and made livable again. Canada is suffering from too many people with few skills. The US foundry area hasn't recovered. If Trudea and Canada could see it, joining with the US would benefit them, and the US.
