Canada situation is not immigrant’s fault, this is government fault. Someone from a third world nation, will always try to find better opportunities in a different country and this is valid. The issue is that Canadian Government needs to be strong enough and make revision to its immigration system; many people works years and years with no proper documentation, no declaring taxes because they are being paid in cash…not even speaking a basic English, however they have a life in Canada. I live in nyc getting on the bus and subway is horrible seeing these illegal people dress better than working people sending thier money back to thier countries they get more help than those who live here I worked in a homeless shelter caught a horrible parasite infection which I'm still fighting I can't work welfare refused to help me with rent electric they denied me immediate help gave me 71 dollars every 2 weeks in cash and 290 in foodstamps I can't pay electric with that let alone rent phone internet other bills etc meanwhile these people get iPhones new sneakers clothes thousands in cash upon arriving thousands in foodstamps health insurance etc free rent free everything but I can't get help I had a broken ankle they wouldn't even move to let elderly or disabled sit on busses and subway they disrespect the rules workers people in stores I witnessed for myself

As an Indian, I am aware of the many scams people are involved in just to stay in Canada. One of my acquaintances went to Canada with their family on an Express Entry PR. They are working full-time for cash while also claiming unemployment benefits from the Canadian government. I wonder what action the Canadian government would take against such scams. I hope my comment reaches someone responsible.

(Assuming a min $40-45000 per student for 2 year diploma, between to $100,000 - 150,000 for undergrad, and around $50,000 for Masters degrees). Usually, international students have to pay most of this money before applying for the study visa. \n\n\n2. These colleges employ Canadians for their day to day operations. From cleaning, maintainance, administration to teaching, each college operates with approx 20-30million budget. So, more students lead to more employment for Canadians who further pay taxes.\n\n\n3. All students start work straightaway, pay taxes, and do not qualify for social security. They do not qualify for any student loans by Canadian govt or banks. So, they generate revenue for Canada through their work and taxes. The thing that govt LOVES.\n\n\n4. These students become new consumers and their expenditure generate revenues for local businesses.\n\n\n5. Most Colleges would not survive without international students. Which is good in the sense that only quality colleges will survive and other hanky panky colleges would shut down. However, such closures will lead to job losses, bankruptcy when the colleges won't be able to afford their expenses.\n\n\nSo, considering these factors it will be an industry collapse. Govt needs to control immigration. They need to introduce intelligent policies. The steps that current govt is currently taking are politically motivated not rational.

As an Indian immigrant and a former international student, I think its really important to follow the process. Make sure you complete your degree on time and get a work permit before your visa expires(so that you don't have an illegal presence), don't work cash jobs while you're going through your degree and respect the limitation of 20hrs/week. If your student visa expires and your work permit does not get approved, its best to go back. No matter which country is it, its really important to obey the laws. There is no point of going against the law and making unjustifiable demands.
