While trying to say US is bad yet doing the very same thing while saying he didn't have a choice when he did. He's a liar. Now its fine if he wants to place tarrifs, he's free to do whatever. But ppl already chose a conservative leader, and i think if he plays ball with Trump, Canada will have lots to win.

The tariffs make sense from the position of trump being an ally with putin. trump is punishing countries that have supported Ukraine, thinking that if he weakens these countries with tarrifs, these same countries will turn inward and discontinue their support of Ukraine. I wonder how much putin has offered to pay trump if trump can strong arm Ukraine into ending the war, leaving russia with land stolen from Ukraine. If look at another perspective, if Trump did not impose tarrifs, then Canada will continue to sell the cars back to US for high profits. Trump mentioned about this, he is not happy. It irritates me that Trump attacks canada for fentanyl and illegal immigration when its the other boarder that is the vast majority supplier. Trump has not given a resoanble or justifiable reason for these tarrifs in my mind. Its a shame as some of Trumps ideas and plans I agree with but so far the vast majority of his action has not been. I have been visiting canada frequently for my outings, if I go oit for dinner or entertainment ive been making a 1 hr drive to do so, vs a 45 minute drive to seattle. I will continue to soend every leisure dollar in canada untill this tarrif trade war is corrected.

Well, I think Trump is right, TARRIF should be a two way system, if any country don't want to apply it is for their own good. Canada should realize how to protect itself and trade across the world. We have seen Trade Embargo how it works.

America imports 4M barrels of oil per day from Canada. If Trump would put a 25% tarrif on them and I was Trudeau, I would add an additional 25% export tax onto it. See what the American gasprices will do then. Tarrifs are not the way to go
