Not all Americans are with Trump or Putin. Many of us stand with Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Americans love their country, but many Americans are hurting and suffering and feel let down by our government. It's a circus now. We are sick and tired of the high cost of taxes, food, gas, housing, and now these tariff's that are only going to hurt Americans more.

As an American, Trudeau, as he mentioned in his speech, is no friend of mine. These tariffs aren't going to hurt me any more than the last 4 years in america has under democrat leadership. I lost family to fentanyl, I lost my job due to terrible democrat economic policies. I lost my home. I lost my savings. I lost all hope of ever owning a home. Im losing my mother to what I am sure was the jab. I've got nothing left to take. Tariffs aren't going to hurt me. Liberal policies, from people just like Trudeau, have destroyed my life. Something I don't understand. If tariffs on goods coming into the US hurt US citizens. Wouldn't a tariff on things coming into Canada hurt Canadians? How does this help you? What harm does it bring to the president?

If you charge 25% why is it not fair in return to charge 25%? \nWhy does the world expect the US to cover their butts when our country can't afford it any longer. The problem here isn't temporary. Tariffs may or may not be. But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.

As an American the citizens don't really have a choice on what trump decides to do. If you want to match his 25% tariffs I think you should. We qlso don't want to help putin hurt others. As a Canadian. We know our prime minister is preventing an election by prologuing parliament. He isn't as great as you think. Our little economy is 1.9 trillion half of California's. Were literally only hurting ourselves here with more taxes. aka tariffs. This guy is playing politics to try to get votes. by rallying up nationalism. Trying to play the hero. Counter tariffs aren't enough. Total embargo on all resource exports. They only have enough reserves to last a few months without massive shortages and price hikes. Then, when they cabe, we charge them triple to recoup losses. Canadian companies need to do their part, even if it hurts the bottom line.
