THERE ARE favored immigrants though, Ukrainians are not hurting living here. actually they are taking Canadians jobs, even in service positions, but for a lot of students that is how they live. but when employers are offered incentives to hire an immigrant, Ukrainian for example, they may be getting subsidized wages. Febs really seem to take care of the non brown or minority immigrants. just an observation that seems to be happening more and more. it is sad for the Ukrainians because i think they don't know the silver spoon from Trudeau is handed to them. they probBLY think all immigrants have a red carpet but no not at all. not for the brown immigrants, they have to struggle like all our immigrants over past decades before Trudeau, all immigrants worked their way up here. i have just heard from young people who have suddenly been cut hours at work to make way for a ukrainian with no experience on the job to take the Canadians job

My family came to Canada 5 years ago. The main reason was because my dad had been busy setting up a branch of his European company here for two years. He wanted to launch this new branch and then retire early. Canada as he knew it was a good option for him to do this. We even had a house long before we came to Canada. And we now live on the west coast of Canada. \n \nFor us, the transition to feeling at home here wasn't particularly difficult. We also had enough experience of what it was like to live in other countries. Canada actually turned out to be a very easy country to quickly settle in. \n \nI've heard that Canadians can be reserved, but my personal experience is completely different. \n \nNevertheless, I got to know fellow immigrants who didn't find it easy to get started in Canada. In my experience, they were not very or only rudimentarily informed about what to expect in Canada. Their expectations were very high and they failed because of the reality of everyday Canadian life. \n \nOthers had similar experiences, but they persevered and ultimately arrived in Canada. Some of my fellow students are international students who are also considering leaving the country because Canada doesn't offer what they were hoping for as a better life here. \n \nThe reasons are really too individual in nature to really generalize. I think there should be a lot more help given to people who are struggling with their fate in Canada, because there are enough programs that they could take advantage of but that they never hear about. \n \nUltimately, it may help if someone just listens to them and perhaps has some advice, no matter how vague it may be. Those who finally arrive in Canada after years of a long odyssey and find this country something like home are, in my opinion, those who never gave up.

Dear Ana, by watching your videos I heard about Relocate Ltd and I contacted them through the link you shared with us. At the beginning of this year ( February 1st) I applied for Temporary Work Permit to Canada. Since then, they've been really kind and useful to me. However, in October my Employment coordinator informed me that she is no longer with Relocate and sent me an email for me to contact Relocate and ask for another person who should keep following up my process. I did as she recommended but after so many emails sent they didn't reply any email I've sent. I am concerned about that. Can you please, support me if you have any contact with someone from Relocate Ltd. The agreed process time was 2-9 months but it's already taking a while without succeed.

I'm not Indian, I'm indigenous from Canada and I grew up in Vancouver, where the population is mostly from Asia. Being surrounded by people of asian descent is very normal for me. I don't expect anyone to assimilate and lose their culture to exist here. I knew we had a large population of Sikhs here but I didn't think it was nearly as many as in India... and now I find out there are more sikhs here than in India. Amazing. I also didn't know we had so many Sikhs in parliament, let alone Indians. My school is mostly Indian and everyone I talk to has come from Punjab. Everyone seems to love it here, and the school is in the middle of little Punjab so I've been told by my classmates it is the perfect place for the students who are homesick because they are surrounded by their community. I rarely hear English when I walk down the halls, there is even a course to learn to speak Punjabi, which I want to take so I can talk to the students who don't speak English as well. We have many large gurdwaras, and one near me I've eaten langar almost everyday for the past 10 years. Most people here know Sikhs to be very generous and humble. It was a shock to me when I heard the president of Guru Nanak Gurdwara was shot, because I believed Sikhs to be very kind and peaceful, and the gurdwara has a very good reputation as they take lots of food into Vancouver and feed the homeless. They even opened a kitchen in the DTES during the pandemic to be able to have food available to the people immediately. No one else did anything like that. They delivered a lot of food. Now they have an auxiliary kitchen in the DTES permanently that serves free meals. I thought more news would come out of the shooting but it seemed quiet for a bit until Trudeau accused the Indian government of the attack. This news also shocked me, so I decided to start looking into it slowly. I couldn't really get a good idea of what was going on until I searched a video for Diwali and your videos came up. I will share it with my husband so he can be educated on the matter as well. Thank you for your diligent research and dissemination of important knowledge.

Well I had a kid this year in Québec, it was like 250$ for a single room or 20$ for double room or something. \nYeah some hospital would sell our informations to banks and diapers or food manufacturers... still cheaper than 3000$USD\nFor student I'd say if you are citizen of canada, it's like 10 time cheaper to study here than in US as far as I've seen.\nViolence is something really sad. I'd really wish that just guns were restrain for hunting and special forces, like police officer or body gard of gouvernment selected individual accredited to hold a weapon for defence.\nI've heard that in USA police don't all have to go through police academy that teach them how be an officer. Here they have to go to school, be cadets in summer break, have your attitude checked to de-escalat violent situation if possible.\nWhen I was a in high school violence was in drop in school, so much that they withdraw the officer that was station to that school to just do some one time per year presentation of what to do for security, to absolutely nothing.

11 years ago a trip to the ER in Texas cost close to or more than the cost with insurance than a the cost for an ER visit in NS (for those out of country who are not covered by our provincial program). \n\nWe would pay $50 copay at the ER, then over. The next few days we would receive a bill for the physician, then from pharmacy, then from the facility, then from X-ray, etc, every separate department would have its own portion. \n\nAnd then there was the unpleasant surprise when the doctor who saw you in the ER was not an “in network” doctor even though the hospital was “in network”. Our insurance paid 70% of (approved) in network costs, but only 50% of out of network costs. Keep in mind that “in network” hospitals and providers had lower negotiated rates with the insurance companies. Which meant you would have coverage of 70% of a negotiated lower rate for in network but out of network was 50% of a higher rate.\n\nMy neighbours were lovely people. The culture was much different than I expected. The gun culture really hits you in face. For the first while it seemed to be so obvious - signs on pharmacies, hospitals, and schools that state that guns were not allowed, even with a conceal and carry permit. Very quickly, that became “normal”….\n\nFood was amazing. Gas was cheap. Politics was everywhere. Christian mega churches were everywhere - along with some very vocal overbearing people who force their beliefs and opinions on anyone who is near them. \n\nI was surprised with the number of people who felt it was appropriate to discuss religion, politics, and money with virtual strangers. A lot of very personal questions as well. I am guessing it is the difference between what is considered extremely rude in Canada, vs what is just a regular question in the US (or that area of Texas). \n\nAnd another very different thing was how hardly anyone swore. I had the bottom drop out of a bad carrying glasses when I was in San Antonio, the glasses broke, and I said “Shit.” I have never seen so many heads turn towards me. Most of the females looked at me with complete disgust and a lot of the males laughed. I expect that the American who heard me swear, were thinking I was the rudest person. One of my children’s friends was from Australia and when their mom came over one day, she said something to the effect of “so glad you are Canadian” because she sis not have to worry about offending me if she said fuck. That was a relaxing afternoon.

Heard on average it cost around $25000 just to have a child in the US. NO thank you going into debt just to have a kid. Here in Canada free no matter what. Also rather be free then availability. I dont rush to the hospital because of minor sickness like everyone else here does then complains about the wait times. Also dont put myself in dangerous situations to get myself hurt. Some people are so scared about death or wanting attention just go to the hospital for the dumbest reasons. Had someone on my facebook say they had a flu and had been waiting 6 hours in emerg then whined about it. I told them to go home and stop abusing our system thats the reason for wait times. The amount of people that were supposably so sick during covid that they were willing to leave the house and potentially spread their sickness to others just to get told they were sick and to rest. We as people are actually retarded. Any way to get off work and get tested for covid just so you can tell people you have covid like really people. Also not true about weather there are like 7 to 8 states that are way colder then us right now and over the winter then us here in Southern ontario. Maine, Montana, colorado, washington state usually are way colder during winter months and also get alot more snow. Its crazy how we have a sterotype here which yes is true but not for a majority of Canadians. More Americans live in Colder areas combined then Canadians in all of Canada. Meaning more cold Americans then cold Canadians how ironic.

I was just in Ontario and Quebec, last month with my 13 year old daughter. We talked with many native Canadians during our travels. \n\nThe common theme was too much immigration, without letting the natives feel comfortable about it, or giving time for the immigrants to assimilate. Besides cultural concerns, it really hurts schools, hospitals, and the cost of living. \n\nIt doesn’t appear that Trudeau has much concern for Canadians. I heard a lot of anger directed at him. Especially from eastern Indian immigrants—they were very upset about the forced inoculations. \n\nCanada was very much different than it was just a few short years ago. It’s very sad to see. Hopefully they can get some better direction than what they have now.

I heard about this lottery system quite a few times and I now that I understand the rules and condition (Thank you) making a rather lengthy and tedious process. It's a what; 5 or 20 years process. You really need to insist and keep on going. No wonder many as kicked the bucket.

i’m canadian and i would never move to the states, my dad often says he won’t even visit again. the school shooting concern? maybe it’s just our news media but that’s literally the only time we hear of elementary schools at all in the states, and it often happens in places we’ve never heard of before, aka small town usa, so: it can literally happen anywhere in the states to me. for more gun violence here’s a story, i recently had a coworker go down the west coast usa with their family and almost immediately walk into a mall shooting, it really happens so much down there that it didn’t even make the news up here. i work in a mall and i’m never afraid for my life. i’m not being naive, we have guns here, and i work next to a passport photo counter and i see how many people in my town apply for PAL (possession and acquisition license) and it’s more than i would think and still i feel safe

Been to the states many times and never really worried about my safety. My wife however has heard so much about the shootings that she is afraid to visit. When we travel abroad it's Europe or the Caribbean. I think because we here in Canada see so much of the gun violence in the states on the news we think its everywhere, skewing our perception maybe.

It's funny how you're surprised that Canada has high taxes. It's obvious - it's social democratic state. Such countries usually have sky high taxes and shitty free health services and whatever free. You pay twice for free services - it's typical. Haven't you heard about it ? It amazes me how many people don't understand this simple principle that nothing is really free.

First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. Canadian tax payers don’t want to pay for drug addicts to get more drugs the Liberal Canadian government have set up “safe injection sites” and “ methadone clinics” that basically give these addicts more drugs that are payed for with our tax dollars again these clinics and safe injection sites didn’t exist when I was a kid and since then the number home homelessness has increased as well as the number in population addicted to drugs. Ive been to Greece, Ireland, England and Scotland. I will agree that tap water and food is alot healthier abroad than in the states. Public transit sucks in most American cities. There are trains EVERYWHERE in the UK. You can walk a block and see a train there. But the sprawl here is the problem so you mentioned that. I will say Americans are friendlier to tourists than most foreigners, but most Americans are really mean when they travel abroad, so I guess that would balance out. The cost of living argument is hard to agree with, but I wasn't there during the rent hikes, I came back from UK right before they happened. I've heard inflation everywhere is bad, but maybe not in Canada. Love your guys' videos. Keep it up. I am really shocked to hear these two girls regarding why people are leaving Canada. As I heard cost of living is too high to survive in Canada. So what is the point working hard when have no reward end of the day as all your money goes into taxes and you left with nothing. My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I now understand (as before I did not) why even some of my African colleagues are looking forward to go back to Africa or to some of them, immigrate to Europe! .. none of us want to be left alone and depressed in this so highly individualistic and unfriendly, falsely “cool” country called Canada… a country that claims America and France are racist countries when not even one CEO in Canada is coloured! I spent a summer working for Tourism Canada. (I'm a U.S. guy, by the way.) It's amazing that the average\nAmerican is so ignorant of Canada. If you ask one to name the ten Provinces, they can name about three.\nP.E.I.? Never heard of it. Nunavut? What on earth is that? I really enjoyed P.E.I (before the bridge) and\nNova Scotia, Alberta's Rockies, Vancouver, the Alaska Highway, Gaspe, Quebec City, the Montreal Expo\n(1967) and Olympics (1976).

I expected worse experiences that would really impact the general public, but all I heard are petty personal complaints. You complained on a lot of things that can be experienced in a worst way in other countries.\n\nIt's your opinion, but too petty to become a list of 10 reasons to leave a country.

Glad Saskatchewan got 6th, tbh was expecting a 7 but I didn't know the overall quality of life was so high lol. Yeah it's okay here and the diversity is nice, lots of my friends growing up were 2nd gen or 1st gen immigrants! Lovely people, I haven't really experienced much shitty people living here my whole life. I have heard many stories of people getting robbed or other stuff. We heard that if we are below 30year age it's easy to get through express entry process. Is age a criteria? Hello, I'm Afro-Latin and I just have one question, it's Canada a good place for black people who want to go there to live, will my kids be save of racism being black????? And at this point there is not really a place free of racism in the whole world, very often I heard that if your are black and Latino you are f....k twice, like you have to work double or triple to be recognized, it doesn't matter your skill level. I've been doing a research about which country will be better for my family and raise my kids, and log time I was thinking that Canada was the way to go but I'm not so sure now, but thing is that when you try to search, at least in youtube or google places where black people can generally live without any concerns, there is almost none. ?!

15 years in America as an illegal. Man, I am so tired of these people who think they can break laws and move from one country to another with impunity. The question that never seems to be asked is why are these countries south of the border in such chaos? Why?\nWhy can't you find a better life in the country you were born in? As a matter of fact, if you live in California and you're looking to study a second language, you should be concentrating on Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, and Korean. Those are the languages which will have real commercial use. But if you must learn Spanish, please go to Spain. That's the only place I've heard Spanish being spoken.

growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -
