I can't stand CNN = Communist News Network, and I don't care for Trueau but I'm going to have to stand with him on this. Trump is being absolutely rediculous that is going to hurt the poor and working class poor in both countries, Canada as well as America. I sincerely appologize to the Canadian people because my President who said he would make America great again has instead lost his mind and has went off on some insane tangent that will not hurt him or his rich friends (On both sides of the political fence).....Now Mexico that is where the garbage is coming from.

I am a Republican leaning American who did not vote for Trump (never voted for him), and I urge every country to stand up to bullying tactics of Trump. I am relatively rich, so this fluctuating market or rising egg prices will not affect me; poorer people than me will be affected greatly. And ironically, these poorer people voted for Trump. I just don't understand it because if I am a poor American, I would have voted for Bernie Sanders because at least the guy has some integrity unlike most politicians. And I am sorry to say I would have voted for Kamala Harris if she were not so dumb. Even though I lean Republican in that my values align more with Republican ideals, I consider whether a candidate has strong integrity and found none in Trump and Kamala Harris.

It's not at all surprising. Republicans only impose laws and policies that hurt their people, supporting only the rich and wealthy. Never the many. This will likely only hurt republicans attempting to get elected in this country moving forward. Unless they try to take our democracy away. In which case we will be forced to eat the rich to feed the poor.

Who are actually benefiting from this? US consumers are gonna pay more for goods, the exporters seem worried about it. Only Trump seems excited about it and the rich people probably don't care.

As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. Both countries benefited from having a good relationship and now the great US has no one willing to challenge Mr Trump on this idiotic move, America is alienating themselves from a lot of countries and regular Americans are the ones who are going to suffer from this fall-out, the rich won't be affected but regular working class folks your stress is going to get a whole lot worse and that's unfortunate. Hopefully US wises up sooner rather than later and stop blaming immigration for their problems it's poor governing and politicians that have us looking at each other as enemies rather than humans with the same struggle and issues. They have money to send annually overseas but none to improve the life of their citizens in need, that should tell you something. These tariffs are about the US consumer to pay more for everything in order for Dump to recover money from working people to give tax cuts to the rich, nothing else. I think the US president is making the US economy worse, taxes and prices in the country will increase, and relations with other countries will not be good. Since taking office, he has only focused on the small number of rich people with a lot of money, while 90% of the population is struggling with prices and taxes, so he has nothing to care about. What did the American people vote for him to do? To make people's lives better, to have more jobs, to make taxes better...etc. He only talks but has not done anything. I'm doing ongoing research to cease any spend on any US product or service. I'm buying software from Europe, using Posteo for email, deGoogling this year and vastly reducing Youtube. I trace all groceries to eliminate anything US sourced and I now check that products are Mexican and Canadian as much as I'm able and they are supplying. I've stopped planning trips to LA and NYC, I might resume if American voters ever have the good sense to vote en masse against obviously fascist plans and personalities. I've holidayed in Mexico three times and would visit Canada and Europe in future. US is not safe for everyone any longer, not even its citizens and looks to be getting increasingly insecure and offering prosperity only to the already mega rich through crooked policies and agencies. Every week or two I double check the facts on groceries and online products/services to make sure I'm not accidentally buying American. The election was so compromised in November I'm glad people are realising the only action we can take is with our wallets from not logging in to 'big tech' to buying bread and apples etc.

We are angry - with those people who ignorantly voted for Trump and those people who chose not to vote. Not the people who chose to vote democratically to remain a democratic country. We are clear that his real agenda is to use this trade war to attempt to coerce us into becoming the 51st state. For MANY reasons, we will not EVER become part of Trump’s America. If anyone is wondering about the reason of Trump's tariffs: Tariff is source of revenue for the government which is not based on salary. The rich and the poor of the USA will pay the same amount of it for a specific product. This revenue will then serve the US government to decrease the income tax, which is based on percent of revenue (i.e higher income people pay much more taxes). The tax cuts means those with higher revenue will get to keep more of it. So at the end of the day more of the governments revenue will come from those with lower revenue. Thus unfortunately widening the gap between the rich and the poor.

Rich people like inflation. The last scorching inflation we had in the 80s, CDs for 3 years and only 10,000 dollars drew 13.5%, there was also high, high, high unemployment, home loans were 18.5% interest with good credit. This set the farmers up or losing their farms and the Savings and Loan collapse and the subsequent 113 Billion Bail out. This was WITHOUT gutting our federal agencies, cutting back on SNAP and Medicaid and firing federal employees and gutting the agencies' ability to do oversight with the Offices of Inspector General. I can't even tell you why Dept. of Defenses is calling off our cyber defenses against Russia who hacks everything in America nuclear power plants, hydro, etc. Got my gas today - our refineries are fitted for Canadian oil though it's not a 25% tariff but Canada could slap an export tax on it to be paid by us.

Once the prices go up, they will never go down for the little people. The rich are stealing our money. Thanks!
