This all makes me very sad within the last 10 years because it's not what I grew up with and loved 😢 I grew up with multiculturalism enriching my childhood. Learning from different cultures at friends dinners and other different friends houses and attending eastern-themed event from all different parts of the East. There was so much to learn just in my own country from other people from other countries it was fascinating !!! I got to take part in different ceremonies and watch different people celebrate the same sort idea about something in much different ways, I loved it. I learned at least half of my best exterior Plastering tricks from people that had thick accents from all over the East and I'm better plasterer because of it. I learned cooking recipes in the kitchen that I probably never would have stumbled across randomly. I was shown in person all the nuances to certain ways different cultures cooked - like how amazing is that!! There are maybe only a few tricks that I was able to show in return but I always tried to do my best ! The amount of community an alternate types of activities or interesting festivals that without multiculturalism would not even exist . When I was young everybody new integrated into the neighborhood unit first got to know the neighbourhood we're introduced the community center and then obviously people have their own separate areas that they prefer. We first became one, one by one, and meet each other and try to have some fun together that's the whole point! Community or block parties when I was a kid had all of our parents looks like representatives from different countries, that's the way it used to be anyway.... where did it all go? I stopped seeing this type of beautiful multi-ethnic Harmony roughly 10 years ago. Not only that when I try to be a part of new things I am literally turned away or shunned in some weird way I don't know why... I can't even believe how I'm treated.

When I went to Niagara college it was 90% Indian exchange students. I saw punjabis pimping out girls in the school bar and constantly selling hard drugs in the open. I saw Indians drag women bye their hair through the hallways and force themselves onto them in private study rooms, while their friends guarded the exit to the room. Multiple times i had to stand up for women and almost get physical with them. One pulled a knife out on my in the hallway when I told him to get off a girl that obviously didn't want it. Me and my friend rented a house beside the college and we would have occasional partys. They would show up the party and push hard drugs onto my friends. One was flashing around a hand gun and acting like a wanna be gangster. They would steal things and leave their trash everywhere. I finally had enough and said no more Indians at my house.

This isn't just Indian-specific, I have seen many African students do the same. Not all, but many of these international students from developing countries are just enrolling on degrees in western countries with no interest in studying or completing the degree, just to get entry into the country. They then either drop out after registering or first semester and or work illegally and send money back home. Governments focus too much on capping work and other visas paying little attention to the obvious backdoor routes student visas provide.

I'm no expert, but it's obvious that mass immigration is detrimental to any country. Years ago, Canada seemed like a dream country, but in the last few years, it looks like the homelessness, crime etc. has increased and the housing prices are insane. I have a Sikh friend who lived there for about 5 years but moved back to India due to the high cost of living and quality of life there going downhill. He has a much better, low stress life back home. I think there should be stricter measures to immigration. For example: Let doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers in more easily, but those that are coming as students and going to work as cashiers, should be limited.

I grew up with integration that I LOVED, met people from all over the world. I've been working since I was 14 I've worked for people from all over the world , rented from different people since I was 18 and learned great things I can add to my construction or cooking repertoire that you could possibly couldn't learn in the West without diversity. These transnational corporations only care about money, and they use 'us vs them' narratives like 'identity politics' to divide us into 2 political parties, which they own both of, and market these two 'options' as the only alternative to each other, thereby staying in power forever. They will strip Canada of all resources as fast as possible, they will strip our bank accounts of all value as fast as possible, and they'll continue to flood our country with more than 1.2 MILLION immigrants a year while not building homes. The Cons would not have fixed this, because they are the other side of the same coin. Imigration can be done ethically, where it doesn't supress wages and crank up home prices, alas, Canada doesn't seem to care about the current generations being able to afford homes or kids, and chooses to literally replace our families with immigrants.
