The Ford EV one of my friends drive was made in Mexico. Another friend told me that her refrigerator and tv was made in Mexico as well. So, I think the general population is (including myself) a little ignorant about where the household items we use everyday come from. It's not just avocados, tomatoes, beer, and tequila and immigrants arriving from the southern border. As for Canada, we import most of our gas from there, as well as, precious metals. I suppose that if we are struggling financially now, what is coming our way might be a little worse for some people. I have friends that say that prices going up does not affect their budget at all. It does affect mine though. That's where we are.

79% of the people want something that can’t happen; the President, any president, has no direct control over retail prices. Increasing tariffs though will raise prices and drive inflation. People think Trump is president so food and fuel will return to pre-COVID levels; it isn’t going to happen.

Mexico has been imposing tariffs on Americans, and Mexican’s, for taking their cars over there for a long time. \n\nYou have to pay for a permit, along with a hefty deposit (depending on the vehicle year), to cross your vehicle into Mexico. You can cross into the border towns, but if you want to drive further in, you have to pay. \n\nThis is done to eliminate competition, instead of letting the market dictate the pricing. And if you don’t return your permit, you don’t get your deposit back and lose the ability to cross any vehicles for life. No, how is that fair?!\n\nAnd you STILL see Mexican nationals buying vehicles here, and just paying the hefty tariffs, just to legalize their American vehicles in Mexico. \n\nWe can just start there, and do the same thing to them. I don’t think they’d like that one bit.

First this would be very costly. It takes money away from citizens that could use the monetary application like the homeless. Next, working illegals pay into social security that they will never use. How will those funds be replaced? And finally, many illegals are well known to be cheap labor for farmers and AG related businesses. Removing them drives up food costs because US citizens will need higher wages or US citizens will not work those jobs and create food shortages. I would recommend people stop voting for cult of personalities non thinkers who talk loud and constantly but apply little effort to thinking about solving issues.

This woman has no idea how messed up our current immigration system is. The fact that she thinks her deported cousins could successfully reapply or that she said “I stood in line for hours and days to get my green card” just shows how out of touch she is. She thinks that Trump sees her as an equal when he doesn’t. He doesn’t care about the difference between “illegal” or “legal” immigrants… he said non white immigrants are “poisoning the blood of America.” \nAnd as a Mexican born immigrant, she should never forget that the only thing protecting her is a green card, which can be revoked at any time. She is selfish and deluded. I am a daughter of a Taiwanese immigrant who watches Fox News every night and it drives me crazy. Y’all are no better than any illegal immigrant. We need more of them to sustain our low birth rate. Immigrants are awesome and there’s absolutely no good reason to inhumanely and violently deport immigrants. I have heard stories from friends of how inhumane the ICE detention centers are. They treat you like animals, worse than they treat US citizens who are murderers.

This reduction to 395,000 is ridiculous. These people are a joke. Every Uber driver in our town is Indian. These good folks come here thinking they'll get a job with a future. There are now so many Ubers in town, its cheaper to drive in an Uber than your own car.

I genuinely think that Skilled and Well-educated workers will not get affected in any way. The affected ones are who seek PR pathways with short courses and drive trucks and work at McDonalds etc..

So we need to think about who is a Canadian? Unless you belong to the Indigenous group you are either an immigrant or a descendant of an immigrant. I have lived in Brampton for almost 20 years and have witnessed the change. Yes, people need to adapt and understand the so called Canadian culture. But also think about whether you will have an issue with a white Portuguese or Italian immigrant ,the same way. These Indian students are spending money and driving the economy. They are loosing their precious years doing trivial jobs which the so called white people will not do. Indian students are committing suicides at an alarming rate in canada. Government policies are to blame not these students

interesting I live in the US, and we have the same problems here homelessness, drug overdoses, and high taxes, some states have higher taxes than others, home prices are skyrocketing, and no new homes are being built. no new low-income housing. Just a real shortage in housing period.. Yet, we have gotten so many immigrants from all over the world flooding here. I can't understand why they come. We have terrible medical care. Public schools are awful so glad I do not have children. I ask myself has the whole world gone crazy? COVID closings& forced vaccines, insane people out there driving like well like they are insane. It’s about time they are doing this . Indians have been living in these countries for decades many immigrated from the 60’s . And assimilated and live happily in these countries . But this new set of arrogant ,entitled, semi educated . Immigrants .especially north Indian. I was born here 55 years ago, I am mixed race and have been asked if I was Indian. I think that my time growing up in Canada is that Indians have had the most racism towards them. However, There are too many coming here right now. 99% of the Indians I have met with are nice and great people. With that , the shear amount of Indians that are not desirable are here. Cannot drive, rude, no understanding of customer service and take over public spaces and are litter bugs. You guys have to help transition into the western american canadian tradition. I have seen influxes of other countries come over here in my 55 years but I have never seen one group come over with these huge numbers. It is a massive displacement

Hi… I totally agree with just about everything you stated in all aspects of the Indian community. I’m a Canadian who happens to be living in Brampton for the past 12 years. I’ve watched Brampton go from a beautiful community to a dark dreaded place to live , and this is truly because of Indian behaviours. Mind you I have many genuinely good intelligent respectful Indian friends, but there’s the others that thinks they owe the city, province, and country. They don’t respect no one, and I mean no one. NOT EVEN THEIR OWN KIND (Indians/ Punjab). And yes as a Canadian citizen whenever I see something I do call them out on it. However; the moment you say something to them they assume that you’re cursing at them and what was ment to be a respectful comment becomes a situation where they want to argue and even get into a physical fight. Then there’s the bad, careless driving on the streets with no regards to the next person’s life. They drive like their car is the only one on the street yet always looking for someone to race with not to mention the illegal U-TURN creating major accidents. I personally experienced this when a Tractor Trailer Driver tried making a U-TURN on the city street with only 4 lanes for both direction at 4AM in the morning. This caused me to almost ran under the trailer body which would have been the end of my life. They butt into lines and interrupts as much as business conversations thinking their concerns are way more important than anyone else’s and That’s just to name a few things.\nNow on the other hand I do have VERY GOOD RESPECTFUL INDIAN FRIENDS who I will never let go of our friendship because of their genuine respectful relationship although even those close friends are now pulling themselves away from their own country people and all because of the others behaviour.\nThirdly; YES, the Canadian government invites foreign students into the country with improper sources to monitor and direct a governing body to monitor and process the activities of foreign students .\n\nI love your honesty in your stories back your video clips as proof of your country men behaviour. Canada's population of 40 million is not enough to drive the economy big. An MPP long time ago wanted Canada's population to be around 100 million to drive the economy. The usa to do this the time of cowboys gave free land to anyone who went west. Some immigrants due to poverty, never being able to establish themselves and racism did not even get married or only have one child contributing to Canada's declining birth rate. Canada's population that grew from 25 million to its current populatio of 2024 is due to immigration not child birth. New immigrants is what is driving Canada's economy. Who do you think is buying houses, condos, furniture, cars, etc. Many old generations Canadians of english, Scottish and irish descent don't and pass their house on to their kids if lucky.

One protester was saying he is a truk driver. Withen 1 year he is driving hiway? So he didn't come to study. Also all security companies has to be changed, all are in Indian's hand. Before they arrive in Canada they have curiosity jobs. Even in Air Port they are working. The Air Port job is only for 2 community. Every one know about. They are reckless car and truck drivers. They drive aggressively and disregard traffic laws by speeding, dangerous passing, running red lights, tailgating, illegal U-turns and much more. They caused so many very serious high profile accidents where innocent road users were killed or severely injured. They think they are great drivers and drive like they are in india!

University professors are mostly Indians that are impossible to understand according to my sons. Went to an Indian veterinarian that caused my dog to bleed from three of the four nails he cut before I could stop him and will never go to any Indian practitioner of any kind ever again. Indian at a local shop ripped me off at the checkout. Local falafel restaurant made me very ill. Later heard they don't wash so will never eat at any Indian restaurant again. They drive like they own the road and think nothing of cutting you off or running stop signs and lights. They look at you with contempt and have zero respect for females. They do not maintain the property they live in. A city house close to where I live has weeds growing out of the eves trough for the entire area around the drip line of the roof, garbage everywhere and grass/weeds to your knees. Please stay in Brampton or preferably go back to where you came from.

A message to Indians thinking of coming to Canada: WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. You take all of our apartments leaving rent completely unaffordable to us. Because of your horrible driving skills, our insurance premiums have gone up. You stink up our buses and subways because you don't wear deodorant and refuse to practice personal hygiene. You have an accent so horrible it makes me want to gouge my eardrums out. Get your own population under control and tell all your relatives to stop coming here!!!

This needs to stop altogether. Immigration is NOT an economic plan and as such has worn quite thin. It has become so difficult to own and run a business (at least in Ontario) and probably the rest of the country due to taxation and added things like carbon tax which has never been explained in a meaningful way. There is also an issue of interprovincial consortiums buying up franchises in bulk and hiring only foreign nationals to work there. These politicians are in denial and have no stake in this which is why it seems like a viable solution. Some of them are also landlords and involved in the secondary mortgage market with investment funds, all the while making policy to keep working people and the middle class off the property ladder. You can’t get approved for a 2000 dollar a month mortgage but you sure can rent one of their properties through a buying consortium for 3500 dollars a month. It is obscene the grift that has taken place and all the while they have had a hand in fomenting a purchasing frenzy for homes which drives their property values / investments through the roof, sometimes to the tune of 10x what they paid for them. It is corrupt and if anyone thinks that 25million dollar Pollievre is going to be different then think again…..it will be a repeat of Stephen Harper only worse (he is pulling the strings for Pollievre.

I am surprised so many Indians are being let into Canada. I think Canada thought they will get the Indians the US does. NO, these Indians coming are all from small farming areas in India. They are like the Hill. Billies. and Red. Necks. of India. They will drive trucks, work at the factory, at walmart, at fast food, deliver pizza. They should enforce the law that landlords who buy properties have to reside in the jurisdiction they buy their properties from. I agree with you leaving. I am a 3rd generation retired Canadian who used to be proud to be so. Now I am not, in fact I am embarrassed to say I am Canadian as it is nothing to be proud of. I think of how good things were in the 70's and 80's while I was young and now how bad things are today and it is truly depressing. Back then if you are willing to work, you could make a decent living, buy a car, a house and raise a family - today, good luck with that. The people in the west have had no say in the faulty governments we have had as Ontario and Quebec have put the final nails in our coffin when they elected that buffoon JT for a third consecutive term and then the NDP kisses his butt to join up and torture us more when most sane Canadians did not ask for this. JT is truly an embarrassment for this country although the US is in step with comatose Joe. I feel sorry for the kids and many others that are trying to survive, make a living and buy houses. Reverse discrimination has been at play for 20 years or so but is really out of control these days when a white Canadian kid that has got 5 yr honours degree in University has trouble finding a job today because you are the wrong colour. Our national anthem was changed a number of years back for no good reason. Immigrants are being imported by this idiot called our PM and handed out living accommodations, jobs and our hard earned $$ that he stole from us while our own people fall deeper into the quagmire. This is why landlords are lot renting anymore. Government thinks this is the way to help housing crisis by letting scums live free. Well they are teaching landlords not to rent. We have houses we don’t rent anymore because we ourself experienced a tenant who lived and abused the property free for a year easy. LTB was all tenants pro. Tenants were driving new cars every six months while we were going bankrupt.

Today when you drive along Steeles Ave, along the southern edge of Markham, you will see only Chinese light boxes and 3d signage adorning all of the super malls there. No English and no French. There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. I think a lot of Americans either forgot or didn't know that a few yrs ago illegals were pouring into Canada from US from Vermont. Roxam Rd in Quebec was their landing spot. Taxis in US made a fortune taking them to the border there where they crossed into Can and were greeted by RCMP acting as baggage carriers, loading these ppl unto busses and driving them to $50.00 a day hotels. Neither Canadain or American govt did anything to stop this. Ppl died out west crossing through the woods in dead of winter in the bitter cold. Both Canada and US are very proud of our unprotected border but if the law on both sides would have nipped this in the bud both countries would not have ended up in such a mess.

I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. They harassed people by calling their personal phone numbers to sell service. I have also seen that they have cheated TTC, YRT by not paying their very reasonable 3-4 dollars fare. I have seen that they did committed insurance fraud. I have seen that they stole grocery from department stores. They speed, disobeys traffic rules and more.\n\nThey are also financially frustrated and feel homesick. This is the main reason. They are suffering here and stressed.\n\n\nIt is not racism. It is a behavioral reaction. This will not stop.

Before anything else, I think the Canadian government should of been taking care of their own Canadian people. Who have no where to live and are struggling to feed their children & survive. I see imagrints driving new cars and have houses and Canadians are living in campers.

The biggest impact on the declining economic productivity coincides with the Trump administrations trade war against Canada. They ripped up the previous trade agreement, and tabled a new one that attempted to devour Canadian industry. No one ever talks about this, and it's unfortunate. That coupled with the pandemic, resulted in a one-two punch to the Canadian economy. On top of that the amount of investment into automation in the energy sector over the past 10 years has reduced the demand for labour. And now with the ever expanding encroachment of AI on nearly every industry, the Canadian economy is facing an uphill battle. Many think that a prime minister is the main reason, when it's not. Canada is at the whim of US economic policy, which I fear is going to get even worse when Trump returns to office. A transition to Conservatives at the Federal level may lighten the load on a few things like Carbon Tax, and Income Tax (maybe), but they won't be the party to introduce limitations and regulations on investors that are responsible for driving up housing prices, by treating the housing market like it's a stock exchange. \nI will applaud Trudeau on winning over the EV battery plant, for pulling us out of bombing Syria and Iraq, for legalizing Marijuana, and for including Dental Care in health coverage (albeit limited...), but some of his decisions should have been better thought through, like the capital gains tax, and should only be targeting investors that have more than 3 properties. While he increased the budget for the Military, he's spent his first two terms ignoring it and that's severely hampered our readiness, and equipment. And while I do think we needed to boost immigration to stave off economic disaster, the current level that its at is problematic, and many bad faith actors are taking advantage of it and enriching themselves like the diploma mills.

My family are Central American immigrants. The vast majority of them have been blue collar hard working people that helped shape what we live in today. I am first generation born Canadian coming from this blue collar family of hard working immigrants that earned their Canadian citizenship. I think most of us who have immigrant family from anywhere have seen this. I cannot necessarily say I’ve seen this type of work or drive to contribute from the Indians that immigrate to Canada. Yes there are some who really contribute, but that should be the norm not the exception. I don’t have anything against them, I just really wished Canada would be more diligent on who they let in and how many they let in. This is the result of just opening the flood gates. Canada has always been multicultural, but you gotta earn your keeps.
