I am a 72 years of female who lives in Canada with very strong American roots as I came here when I was 46 years of age. I have to say that what is happening between the United States of America and Canada breaks my heart. I have always known that Canada and United States of America worked and got along with each other all my life. Yes, my heart is broken for the Americans and the Canadiens who will suffer because of this trade war that President Trump started. Prayers for both countries.

Say it correctly please, the American PEOPLE are NOT enemies of Canada….President Trump and those who voted for him are enemies of Canada. I know the tariff thing was happening, but didn’t know why this was a thing. \n\nShame on me for not being more up to date. \n\nI also know nothing about Trudeau or his political stance on literally anything aside from what he talked about in this video. \n\nI must say this was of speaking is EXACTLY what I expect from a world leader. THIS is the exact style of communication we need from world leaders. He wants everything his greedy little hands can grab. \n\nI am glad my government is getting more trustworthy trade partners because we should never be so reliant on trade with the US again. \n\nWe are boycotting US goods, services, and destinations. The bond will never be the same. Once you lose trust, it isn't so easy to ear it back. We can't trust Trump and who knows if the one after him will be any better.

It would have been better to call the move “ill-advised”. Referring to POTUS by first name and saying it was “dumb” is just going to provoke DJT who everyone, fans and critics alike, knows is vain and does not have the humility to accept insults. It’s Trudeau breaking shtuff on his way out. He doesn’t have the mandate to put us in a worse position; he is being selfish, I think, in taking an unnecessary low-brow jab. Calling it ill-advised or similar gives Trump an out, to pass the buck to Lutnik when it becomes apparent that this tariff idea is a steaming pile for everyone involved.

Thank you Mr. Trudeau, for being such an honorable man. And let me say here: most Canadians, because they are generally more intelligent than most Americans, realize that less than 50% of the US voters voted for the sorry excuse for a leader.
