Great video and hits a lot of real pain points\n\nI for one am leaving Canada, born and raised in Alberta, lived in BC most of my adult life. Sorry but see ya!\n\n1 I am tired of the weather -40 is a no no and most of our country hits it a few times a year. 52 years and this is my LAST winter. What a Relief!!\n2 I am tired of the MASSIVE greed in real estate that has been allowed to flourish. No way most of Gen Z will ever be able to own homes, if the are lucky they will get one passed down to them, shame you have to wait for a family member to DIE to own your own home :( Benchmark prices for home in Victoria 1.2 million, Vancouver 1.18 million, Kelowna 1 million. Very few people can afford a 6k+ a month mortgage. Shame on our govts that allowed this to happen.\n3 I am tired of the degradation of the family unit. Western morals have gone for crap, crime is up and people are happy to threaten each other. \n4 I am tired of the lack of available health care. All i can get is a 3 minute phone call after booking 4 weeks in advance??? wow \n5 I am tired of the people too, but in different ways. Way too much like USA now, people that pride themselves for ignorance, willfully ignoring science and safety or even common sense.\n6 I am tired of the governments, provincial and federal. ALL of the parties suck and will not do what is needed here. We are getting as bad as the USA. (which will soon tear itself apart!!)\n\nCanadians are a LOT more xenophobic than we might show. Most of us from the prairies (Boomers/GenX) never saw anything but seas of white people and native Americans. You probably never saw a foreigner maybe you knew someone that did... This is not the same country i grew up in. Good or bad I do not know, but it is way different!\n\nGrowth and thinking Growth will make a country flourish is a lie, and it destroys country after country. Canada is next. It populace will continue to grow with no room, no jobs, no hope.

I came in Windsor Ontario as a foreign worker in 2009, wasn't the best time to look for a job there but still. I did 1 year of studying, worked again, left for Alberta in 2012 where I still am. Got my PR in 2014 and citizenship in 2022. Most of the things I hear against living in Canada must be true, I don't doubt it but I'm just not aware of them. I didn't even know there was a bank account freezing during COVID. It wasn't easy to get a good job, I had to leave for a small community in Alberta to get the most of what I wanted and that's why I am oblivious to the harsher reality that people have to endure in Toronto or Vancouver. But the thing is, as soon as I landed in Toronto and got robbed 50$ by some guy (this is just an anecdote not the real reason), I knew I shouldn't try to make a living there. I know job opportunities are in those big cities but please, if you can, there are great communities that need people, workers, consumers and families. If you can land a job there, move! At least try. It doesn't even have to be that far up north, nor to be a mini small village. Small city, rural living, no criminality, cheap housing, lots of space, family friendly, no traffic, no wait time to see a doctor, friendly people, douchebags, we have it here. Are they drawbacks? Yes of course. Need to drive 1 or 2 hour to get a scan or an MRI, car dependance is exacerbated but hey, it feels like a free country where no one have been overpriced...yet.

even canadian medical system is getting worse and worse. \nwalk in clinic doctors dont wanna see patients \nI visited 3 different walk in clinics and they all said no\nWhen i visited Toronto one homeless guy tried to hit me, boyfriend and our friend. \nthe homelss guy told us to leave his park so we did and 5 mins later the same homeless guy was hitting one of the bikers in the driving lane. All the other bikers started to punching the homeless guy and started kicking him brought him to the opposite side walk and kept hitting him. seriously, canada's becoming very dangerous even in Vancouver being very much ghetto place.\n\nI think the PM should be focusing fixing Canada instead of getting more people in. Leaving Canada??? Are you kidding me? If all these disillusioned immigrants are leaving, then why do us born and raised Canadians see every major city of ours being overtaken over by these immigrants, specifically the South and east Asian variety, in every single one of them? Here is statistic for you on one of them.....more than 75% of the people who live in Toronto, are from another country!! 75%, and Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and every other big city we have are catching up to that percentage as we speak. I laugh my ass off when I when I see a tiny minority group like yours claiming that immigrants are leaving at a rapid pace. I suppose though it might appear that way to you if you were not born here to begin with and witnessed the massive change in our immigrant population over the past 30 years like us born and raised Canadians have. Dont get me wrong either. I am all for immigration and know how necessary they are to our successful economy and I do feel for the ones that try to make a decent living here but get pushed out for whatever reason, but to say that there is alot of immigrants leaving is simply not true by any measureable standard or why are there so many of you everywhere? Something isnt making any sense here and I know its not coming from us born and raised Canadians either!

Canada will surely havte even more professional labour shortage in specific filed, IT people will leave Canada for USA . Universities have hard time recruiting and maintaining qualified professors bc even 120000 a year for Toronto and Vancouver are no longer sufficient to buy a house.

There is a whole other Canada outside Toronto, Brampton or Vancouver. Disgruntled, leave. No one is stopping you from leaving. Should have done more investigation on Canada instead of taking some hired foreign immigration official advice, whose job is to make money off your back, telling you mistruths and all you had to do was do your own investigation. The government should be very clear to immigrants. Canada doesn't need workers in the Professions. Canada needs janitors and donut servers willing to live with two other families in a 2 bedroom condo or we need the rich to fleece off of. Just go onto indeed leave the key word blank and set the location as Vancouver. Most jobs you'll find pay 45-50 k or demand experience so specific no immigrant and most residents can't hope to qualify. Canada has a labour shortage the same way it has a shortage of 40k Porches.

Canada is now full of non Canadian citizens of convenience- chinese, indians, arabs, africans, latinos - all there for the benefits. Last visit to toronto and Vancouver saw and heard only non canadians. Glad to hear they're all leaving. Population replacement is never a good thing. For the next 60 years evety stays in their home country and improves it. Will be a more pleasant world.

Australia is worse, even more expensive housing and much more racist when it comes to job search, also Australia dollar is worth less than Canadiam dollars. Canada bashing seems to have become a fashionable sport, but all those who are leaving never say where they are moving to. The fact is the grass is not always greener on the other side, Sydney housing costs 1.5 times of Toronto and London housing costs easily twice of Vancouver. If you are capable and work hard, you can still do way better in Canada than India.

To be honest most asians should leave Canada. its no longer the place especially Vancouver. better life in asia when you grow older.

I had to leave Vancouver 10 years ago literally because I couldn't afford to live there anymore. The cost of living was too high even then, and the job prospects simply weren't there. I have a BA and was an ESL teacher with 20 years experience. Tried changing careers as there were no stable jobs in ESL. I wasted 5 years struggling to find new work and in the end had to leave.

Canada is becoming worse every day anyway!!! Salary are low (while cost of living is skyrocketing), which is why we have so many Canadians and immigrants who are becoming so anxious, depressed and facing all sorts of mental problems), people are moody, quality of life is decreasing and transport is trash compared to France and the lack for doctors is making this country look like a third world\nEconomy!!! Even Canadians are happy to leave this place (poor weather, lousy healthcare, lousy retirement compared to places like France, lousy transportation compared to most of Europe, worse mental health services than Europe, people are too serious and take things so seriously compared to the French) and honestly, we think of leaving it too for another country.. that you can trust me! I was born in bangladesh and lived 18 years of my life there, then I moved to The us which is where I went to university and spent the next 7 years of my life. Then in 2004 I moved to canada and spent the next 13 years there before finally moving to oceania. Let me tell you why I left canada, in the later years there I was noticing how much I was being treated like an immigrant yes I am an immigrant but living 13 years of your life in the country and not being treated like a citizen but new people come into the country brand new and are treated more like citizens then you are hurts a lot. When I was new in canada I felt much more welcome by my coworkers and the citizens then I did after living there for so many years. But there's two more major reasons I left canada and these reasons are just as big as to why. In vancouver where I lived, the homeless crisis as you may know about was getting out of hand, it was a major problem even when I first settled in vancouver but now people were scared to even go the store as mentally ill homeless people were terrorizing everyone. And the last reason to top it all off was that the prices for everything in vancouver were simply ludicrous, It was insane how high the prices went up and taking care of my family was a struggle. I moved in 2017 and never once looked back, where I am now everyone and everything is sane and it hurt to leave canada at first because of how long I lived there and the memories I had there but let me be very clear I do not regret leaving canada.

Speaking as someone living in South Vancouver, here are two rules I live by:\n\n1) Never leave your bike outside for extended periods of time. Especially closer to a downtown area because it will get stolen. If thieves can't get through your lock, they'll just strip the bike everything that isn't locked down. It's actually very common to see just a bike frame locked to something while missing every other part. \n\n2) Don't go to downtown Vancouver as it's drug city. It's the one downtown area in metro Vancouver that I say has zero redeeming factors. All the other neighbouring cities are nice, with Richmond in my opinion being the best of the bunch, but downtown Vancouver? It's the closest experience to Seattle in Canada that you'll find.

most immigrants who say they wanna leave immigrated to either Toronto or Vancouver... like cmon

Some of them come , right after grade 12 only one thing in their mind to get immigration! Most of them come to get same degree management or hospitality managing hotels ! These degrees don’t get them anywhere ! They all want live Vancouver Toronto no one wants to go to Manitoba Saskatchewan and up North ! People open up private colleges,have little room to teach them on line classes ! Money grab ! No one give them right information before they leave their country! We got not many skill student only business digress! Student from Indian love to get their PAR ! It cost them too much money to get here, but then they have to work hard to pay for their fees , or they have to buy work permit , it cost 35 to 50 thouesd to buy work permit as long as they work for same people for two year, not making that much money ! Life becomes hard !

Canadian here, from Vancouver. This is 100% true. Why do we accept so many immigrants? Because we have to. We can't afford to have our own kids. It's too expensive. As my kids are finishing their post secondary education, I'm going to suggest taking their edu and leaving Canada for the USA - higher wages, more affordable cost of living. It's actually simple math.

The sad truth for your reputation, is that there are more people STAYING than leaving, otherwise, our population would only increase by the number of births, minus the number of deaths every year. It is NOT. It is increasing by a LOT more. Great video! Here's my 2 cents: The Social scene is a Western thing. Difucuty meeting friends is a well-documented thing about Vancouver. I think it's because Vancouver has three large ethnic monocultures, and they're all preoccupied with money. West Coast is lifestyle over the social scene. At the same time, Toronto is much more diverse culturally and economically, and culturally, it has a more outgoing social norm. The housing crunch is partially driven by supply and demand, at least not here in greater Vancouver, where I can see hundreds of brand-new condominiums and townhomes empty or for sale. The real issue is the lack of affordable housing. I've lived in Canada my whole life, and im also considering leaving.

People have to stop using rental prices in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. That's like Americans using rental costs in Bel-Air California or Manhattan as an example of what rent costs in America. It's not a realistic portrayal of rental costs. \nHere in Quebec the the annual tax rate is between 26.53% and 53.31%, depending on income. Then you have to consider all the socialist programs that you are forced to pay into, which also sucks up a significant amount on your weekly salary. After that, you must consider that you pay 15% sales tax on almost everything. It's safe to say that half of your yearly earnings, give or take, are taken in taxes and socialized programs. As for salaries, less than 20% of the Canadian population make a 6 figure salary. We're not talking about household income. I am talking about individual income. You're not going to become rich here in Canada! The majority of people who do become rich leave Canada to avoid taxation. Canadians live a life of debt. You will live just balancing your debt to make sure it doesn't get out of control Few Canadians have money in savings without debt. The ones who do have money saved, most of them have debts on top of their savings which is counterproductive in my opinion.

Oh dont you worry. Its the canadians that are leaving and for every 1 canadian that leaves, there will be 50 peopllw from hing kong with unlimited amount of dirty money to take their place and thats all that canadian gov cares about. There are 100s of people applying to any place that becones availble for rent here in vancouver. We are Belgian, living on Vancouver Island since 2000 and I do feel you, many good points and we are certainly considering the 'leaving' option. Portugal comes to mind cause we do mis 'real' people, as you mentioned, hard to make deep, long lasting friends. Here I learned that every moment, encounter and meeting is unique and so to are the people you get to know, they vanish if you don't keep up. Back to Europe, not back to Belgium.

I left Toronto in 2017 (born and raised there, lived in Toronto for 35 years about). I moved to London Ontario, the cost of housing here is basically half of what I was paying in Toronto. I even took a $10k per year paycut for a new job and I still live better in London Ontario than I did in Toronto because in Toronto nearly my whole salary went towards living in squalor.. whereas for half of what I paid in Toronto got me a comfortable home in London. Unless you are wealthy, living in Toronto is lunacy.. you can live much more comfortably by just leaving the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver, even if it means taking a lower paying job.

As someone who has been in Canada my entire life (except the odd travels), I would leave Canada if I could. Unfortunately I have family circumstances that require me to be available for my family in a short timespan (so I've bought a house within one hour drive from my parents with my partner). But if my life circumstances were different (and I can convince my partner) - I'd be out of Canada within a few months, once I find a job overseas. It's quite depressing here and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. \nNote: I do not live in the Toronto area or the Vancouver area but still a pretty medium/large city.

Im a Canadian, currently living in Vancouver but I've lived in many countries and will expat again. What it boils down to is if you have a good professional job that pays well, quality of life here is fantastic (among the best). Great schools, clean, great for young kids, and unparalleled acces to the best nature in the world mintues from a world class city. But life gets difficult quick when you cant afford anything. All these other complaints are blown out of porpotion (politics, drugs, etc...) by many and mostly don't really impact most people. In my experience, most people really leave because of better pay in the US, or because Europe has more culture, or asia has many more contries to explore close, or has LATAM has better weather etc...

Little off topic observation but its strange that you say you are an extreme introvert yet on video you seem super confident and outgoing. Whereas I would describe myself as the opposite, extremely social and extroverted yet too shy to film myself talking...I would stutter and be really uncomfortable.\n\nOn topic, yes we have become cold to outsiders and I think you are correct in that the climate of political correctness has essentially choked any kind of openness as we have been taught since multiculturalism was made state policy to never ask certain questions or we are racist so to er on the side of safety we just don't say anything to newcomers anymore. That would be for the young demographic of Canadians but for older Canadians it is more due to resentment and anger, the reasons you list for wanting to leave Canada have all been caused BY immigration into Canada at such high rates and so older Canadians whom never voted for these changes to our immigration policies and whose voices never get heard are mad, mad their parents were able to buy a home in Vancouver for $50k with a basic blue collar job 2 generations ago now the same house is $3 million dollars. Or that we can no longer communicate with our neighbours because non of them speak english well or that we are constantly being called racist either by implication or outright by our media, academia and government. Or that our parents were able to afford university with zero debt afterwards now you leave with $100k+ in debt and the classrooms are 80% foreigner. Our the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who have been pushed into living in tents because sky high immigration has made their home town unaffordable etc Their anger is misdirected I know that, but it is understandable and will get worse. The future for Canada now is probably breaking into small countries because diversity has no future.

I make more than twice the average annual income in Canada. I still struggle to save despite not spending on nice things or taking vacations. Car Insurance costs are higher than the US. Healthcare situation is horrifyingly bad. Groceries are 15% higher. Childcare costs are higher if you are even lucky to find a spot in one. Cars cost more and so does gas. Taxes are higher than the US while salaries are almost 30% lower. On top of that, you can't really claim a lot of tax credits like in the US for being married or having work related expenses. It's a punishment to live in canada these days. Unless you have inheritance from your parents, forget about ever owning a home in GTA, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal. There are other cities in canada too but job prospects for most educated folks are sparse and the weather is worse. Leave Canada if you can.

I think people who leave the country is because don’t have the skills that required for the high cost of living specially in the biggest cities like Vancouver ,Toronto ,although Montreal was less expensive to live in compared to the others ones, \nNew immigrants coming to Toronto finds almost impossible to find a reasonable accommodation due to the high demands for housing ,family’s ‘re the most affected, One big reason some people are returning home is because the minimum wages at 18 dollars an hour -40 hours work , 2,880.00 dollars, minus tax, take home is 2,448.00 taxable at the rate of 15 %, , now your rent for one bedroom ,600 square feet cost $2.000 dollars a month , leave you with 448.00 to cover food, transportation , and utilities, at the end you haven’t save any money , So what to do just go home

I am north east Asain/Canadian and i have moved out of Canada few years ago, actually lots of friends of mine also move back to their original countries for better working opportunities, basically there isn't much good opportunity in B.C. people from highly developed Asian countries like Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan, even China has a higher tendency to leave Canada, the future is in Asia, tons of much better opportunities than Canada. Also after i have travelled many countries i realize if ur rich there r lots of other countries that u can live way better than Canada, the house, food, tax is much more affordable and local ppl r super friendly. I came here on 28 August as international student in Vancouver from India and just after 4 days I left canada on 1 sep and came back to india. It's shocking to say within 4 days I returned back, canada is not worth it, people from all world are mixed there it causes problem of fights and #other matters, survival is difficult and cold conditions, that's why population is less there, it is aim of govt that's why attracting migration towards canada but not worth it, we're going there by leaving various things in home country such as home, car, family, nation, property this is foolishness by leaving all utilities of life and to start again from zero in Canada it is big foolishness aslo by leaving nationality, doing struggle of just settling, In my view , we have limited time in life, we're having things and doing hardwork to do those things agin in other nations, its better to do in own country. It doesn't matter opportunites are there in Canada etc, every nation has opportunity, you're from Singapore it's best country do there not leave nation, everyone not have to migrate all have to do in their home countries. It was a big move, but we made istikhara and went with it. I would suggest that you think about Qatar as one of the options.

The problem is people want to live in Vancouver or Toronto. There is more to canada than those major cities. I am leaving Vancouver soon. I plan of moving to Saskatoon.

A couple of times when shopping here in Vancouver, I've been followed. After a few minutes pass and if I see a security guard casually following me, I walk right up and say...'Look! if you're going to follow me, then make your self useful and carry my basket for me.' They usually leave me a lone after this. I've even turned around and started following them to see how they like it.

True that the cost of living in Vancouver is unreasonable! Yet, as an immigrant for over 15 years, I won’t say I shall leave when the living environment is unfavorable while I came 15 years ago and got the benefits from this country. Many recent immigrants I have known have left Canada because the cost of living is too high. From my experience they work very hard, usually working 60+ hours a week. After some time they crunch the numbers and realize no matter how hard they try they will not get anywhere so they leave. For those born in Canada we find ourselves being chased out of our hometowns because it is too expensive to live there. For myself it was either stay in Vancouver, surrendering more than half of your income to rent or move out of the city to buy an apartment. In the major cities there is a mass exodus of young people and the strategy has been to replace that exodus with immigration. The problem is that is not sustainable as now new immigrants, seeking a better life are not finding it in major Canadian cities. For those who already own property in the lower mainland the selfish mentality is to do whatever you can to deny construction, thus maintaining the scarcity and value of what little land/housing there is in desirable areas. Zoning laws are beginning to change but progress is slow and municipalities have failed to keep up with infrastructure so the growing pains is going to be immense. It's beautiful here now doubt but if I had no ties and a solid financial footing I would have left long ago. Generations ago you could show up to Canada with no money and thrive if you were willing to work hard. Now hard work won't get you anything.

The government should be very clear to immigrants. Canada doesn't need workers in the Professions. Canada needs janitors and donut servers willing to live with two other families in a 2 bedroom condo or we need the rich to fleece off of. Just go onto indeed leave the key word blank and set the location as Vancouver. Most jobs you'll find pay 45-50 k or demand experience so specific no immigrant and most residents can't hope to qualify. Canada has a labour shortage the same way it has a shortage of 40k Porches.

Bottom line high cost of living including housing, but extremely poor prospects to get a well paying job that would ever allow you to buy a condominium or house in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Sadly, what i just noted also applies to native born canadian.
