Not clever enough to understand, so is this move done to lower the value of Canadian companies to make them cheaper for American investors for hostile takeover? Energy companies etc?

I´m from Germany and I think Trudeau shows how to be a real leader, not a showmaster. What makes me thougtful is to see the Republicans cheering to Donalds inhumane statements. We Germans historicaly know, that this kind of right wing politics can lead to a real desaster. I don´t understand, why only such a little number of americans are standing up and demonstrate for their rights und safe their democracy. This could all end very bad.

Could this be about the mineral ? Trump is making problems with our neighboring allies and Ukraine . What's the end game. Maybe he's underestimating them, or he's relying on what once was America's strength. Trump believes military powers is strength , but he fail to understand the value of unity. We know that the rare minerals are common in the world disputes. Could it be that Trump is just planning to take them ?. Ukraine is not having it. Canada's not having it. Question remains, what's the end game? This doesn't make sense to alienate America from the rest of the world. ?

Good lord .. if this were Obama or even Biden getting this deal done in the same fashion, the media and these same liberals would be calling them heroes! They would be up for the Nobel Peace prize! And liberals wonder why they lost so terribly in November!!!

Thanks for making it clear what you did right but not making it clear on what the US administration wanted from you that you said no to that caused the tariff implementation. It's possible you miss 50% of your illegal border crossings into the u.s. since so much of your border isn't secured. The 1900% increase in illegal crossing in the past few years doesn't look very good. I just just don't understand what these blanket tariffs achieve for Americans. Firstly, employment in the US is at an all time high, if the aim is to bring back primary and manufacturing industries then it's just a myth. It's just pointless and mindless. Nobody wants to go back to working in heavy industry, people want high paying, highly specialized industries, this doesn't create that, it just makes cost of living higher so wages have to go up and cost of bringing in raw materials goes up, all things that discourage start up companies that employ well educated and skilled Americans

I find myself (United States Citizen) cheering for any country imposing tariffs on the United States. Put the largest shit stain (excuse my language) on Trump's presidency.
