Who’ve had to come down to the US for employment opportunities as Canada has time not being able to provide the opportunity and sustenance for their population.\n\nI would have to say that perhaps maybe prior to the 2010’s Canada was doing very well and providing quality life for their population and their citizens and the residence\n\nWhat you find out personally is that is being mismanaged when it comes to immigration capital investment in industries And worst of all, not being able to ride housing in a place where exposure to the elements could be certain death for some people\n\nThere user based national health system seems to be freeing and not being able to provide the services that they once provided, which is also something that’s really troubling\n\nAnd now I hear that they have problems providing food at an affordable amount\n\nI wish you well and fighting a place that gives you better comfort and opportunities to grow and affordable lifestyle\n\nI can’t say in the United States you’re gonna find better you’ll find certain cost of living items a lot more affordable, but we do not have a safety net when it comes to healthcare

Thay Indian lady that said she works immigration IS THE PROBLEM. As a born and raised Canadian. 2 weeks ago i started a new job. I was working with only Filipinos. My background is El Salvador so im kinda dark. So was going ok. Then i tell that cock sucker that was training me. That I'm salvi but Canadian born. That's mistake 1 talking my fault. But i go home and i get fired for a list of bullshit that never happened. Even an Indian walked by and said to my lead. 'Is that another one of your cousins?' As soon as i said Canadian that was the trigger word and when things went wrong. And btw not only Indian invasion. But is no one gonna talk about the Filipinos too? Growing up in Jane area was only Salvis, Jamaicans, Whites and Chinese. No Filipinos nor indian in my class or other jk classes. Born and rasied in Toronto left Toronto for like 13 years moved to Sarnia, Leamington and Windsor ontario. But i came back in May. Barely see Hispanics, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans on ttc. Just like 80% Indian and Filipinos. Not just India. I have nothing against Filipinos. But a lot are just hella arrogant and have 0 manners.

Sorry to hear you’re leaving Canada….I haven’t been watching your vids lately but will catch up. As someone born and raised in Toronto, I love being in Canada. I’m proud to be Canadian. Unfortunately, I am sad to say that we have been going so downhill ever since Trudeau and his gang of idiots came in AND the pandemic. It’s not really easy to maintain your finances here anymore, so many people are struggling in this country. You can’t really afford anything today, it’s so sad. I’m unhappy with what has been happening to our country and the state we’re in. As you said, problems have arisen and continue to plague this country, from crime, cost of living, homeless crisis and quality of life.\n\nIf other of my fellow Canadians are leaving this “great” country, that’s their choice. But I am staying here and going to deal with its problems. I love this country with all my heart, and I don’t think I would move anywhere to a different country. Yes anyone that moves out of here is your choice but….there’s no other great country in the world than here. I’m staying here and I think that’s a good thing. How about this one I'm dual citizen Polish and Canadian long time loong time :) and I have polish passport that's needed and Canadian Polish one I just pay few bucks and I get it no signatures of acquaintances like in Canada. This year I'm not getting Candian renewed cause I have Polish Passport that let's me just like Canadian passport with a bit differnet rules as of EU it's much more and allows. if I don't have Candian passport but I fly in on Polish and I'm a Citizen of Canada as well, do I really need Candian Passport to fly into Canada and stay as long as I want yes I can but is it really needed well will I have problems or just a few minutes when I land in Van or Toronto or Edmonton or Calgary. should I need one. No I don't since I am a citizen of Canada and its in Candian computer all info at the border. will they place me in jail at the border caus ei a citizen of Canada with out Candian Passport flying in on Polish which allows travelling as for vacation 6 months in Canada. let me know Canada officials. I don't officially have aquantances that I have known for 2 years to get signatures for various reasons since I have been out of country of Canada. Am I illegal imigrant then as a official Candian Citizen. Hmmmm I'm a little confused with signatures that Canada needs to refresh my Canadian Passport. if I don't techncally know anyone fro 2 years I'm not allowed to acquire a Candian Passport even if I lived for a very loong time but now things changed up a bit and. There's enough blame to go around. Mass immigration to countries that simply aren't prepared to take in all of these people is the problem, and the policies of the current Canadian Government, for the record, I'm not Canadian so I'm basically just putting an idea out there, it's seems to be a recurring problem in other countries around the world, so this is going to continue until things change, not just in Canada, but around the world...Good Luck!

The only thing I would say cause you seem to be very young. Is that brampton actually in the 70's and to early 2000's used to be mostly a white and black community and then other cultures. I am born in Toronto I have a cousin born in Toronto who currently lives in brampton she owns a house in brampton for about 25 years. And is going through a lot mentally with the slamming. We got of people from India mostly in the last 2 years, but it's been going on slowly over 10 years and she's not doing well with the overwhelment of Indians and we're of black Jamaican heritage. So just so you know, brampton used to actually be white and then black was actually the second largest population and everybody else was after that. And then in the last 10 years they started coming but it wasn't in hundreds of thousands and then in the last 2 years it blew up insanely. As that man described is like an invasion. I now live on the West Coast of Canada and the same thing has happened here. And it's been a lot for me Canadian born. I've always grew up with every culture. I've lived and worked around the Indians that used to come here were literally not even on the radar. I mean you see them, but you just they just blended in because most of them had assimilated and were doing their lives. The breed that has come over specifically in the last 2 years is what is making it even worse cause if they acted like the ones who came before 10 -20 -30 years ago. They probably wouldn't stand out, but then again when you bring in almost a million, into all of Canada, they would stand out, but maybe people wouldn't be so agitated, if they had tried to assimilate and be respectful to the other cultures here and that is the number one complaint I hear anytime, I see interviews. Is people saying they don't assimilate? They're very rude to anybody who is not them. They are just interacting with the environment. The way they do at home, Canadians are more quiet and try to be respectful of other cultures. We like to just have their own space and our own peace when they're moving throughout this space and a lot of people describe the energy of the Indians coming in almost evasive into your space and then not really carrying anything about invading ur space. They act like, so what's the big deal if I'm in your space and that has been the number one issue is just the rudeness. Not assimilating and imposing their culture, speaking their language, not attempting to integrate with other cultures showing actually a lot of racism to some of the other cultures. And that has been the biggest problem. So just so you know, cause I can tell you're young. I'm North 40 years old and I can tell you. The demographic change has been so intense everywhere in Canada especially in the last 2 years. That I have even seen podcast with Indian people who have been here 10 -20-30 years, saying the government needs to figure out a way and get a good swath of these people gone because they are. Staining them with a negative brush. Cause I can tell you. It's only in the last 5 years. That I notice Indians. I've grown up around every culture. And I just don't notice individual cultures in that way. Until in 2022, Trudeau took the guard railsl off the foreign worker program and the student Visa working program. And just said Hey, anybody want to come bum rush the door now? And India is known for having middlemen in India that work with Fake Diploma Mills scholls with brampton having over 80 of them that the middlemen work scamming Indians by telling them if they pay anywhere from $5000 all the way up to $50,000 even higher to get fake school acceptance letters, so they can come here to get the word permit and work full-time or with companies that provide fake LMIA job offers on the black market, which is illegal under the I.R.C.C, but that is a thing that they had prior to 2022. And when Trudeau took the guards rails off when it comes the requirements and basically. Made it a free-for-all and as India already had the scamming infrastructure in place that kept their population moderate and it just allowed th scammers to go nuts, so that's why we got mostly Indians. Other cultures do it too, but it's so tiny. It's not noticeable. The Indians already had the infrastructure in place that when they took off the guard rails, it was easy for them to switch and start selling these opportunities to go to these fake schools was over 80 of them in brampton t such a lightening speed. Hence why we got slammed so hard-and-fast with that specific community.That just really we're coming here to work and send money home and that is also why a lot of our banks are now struggling with cash reserved because they're sending money home. Not so acurate information. During the college time students can work only 20h/week. Unless it has changed. \n\nAlso, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get permanent residency before graduation because you need Canadian experience (full time) for at least 1 year in specialized areas. \n\nOnly if you successfully complete your program you get the full time work visa per 3y. In this time it’s going to be possible TO APPLY for permanent residence. \n\nBut not only that. Canadian experience give you extra points in the immigration program, but also a Bachelor’s degree, or a master degree, work experience in your back country, English level, and age. \n\nI don’t know for certain countries if the rules are different, but as long as I know, it’s the same for everybody. \n\nWhen I came as an international student, I had to prove the college was paid, also show I had enough money to support myself for 1y without work. Also, the program at college that costs $4000/semester for a Canadian student, it costs $8-10.000 for an international student. \n\nMy work visa (during college) allowed me 20h per week working only. \n\nTo get my study visa approved I had to show intermediate English, money, work experience, Bachelor’s degree (I have also a master’s), and explain why I wanted to study in Canada and why that program was related to my current career. \n\nTalking about jobs; I have worked as a housekeeper in a hospital (on weekends). After I graduated I became supervisor. \n\nSome people complain about students and immigrants getting the jobs, but what I’ve seen was a lot of people complaining EVERY DAY about their jobs, about their lives, etc…but doing absolutely nothing to change it.\n\nI got here as a student, I became immigrant, I worked as a cleaner, I graduated at college.after 2y working full time I got the permanent residence, and I was back to school. \nI got a Master’s degree at McMaster University, and now I am a manager in a big hospital. \nImmigrants taking the jobs??? I don’t believe so. I did to deserve it. \n\nSo, don’t put everybody on the same basket. There are bad people I know, but also there are people willing to grow and make the country grow as well. \n\nLast, but not least, I don’t think the COUNTRY has more people that they can handle. I think the big cities have. Government should look into that. Everybody wants to come to Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary. Indians aren’t the only problem. A Ukrainian family of 2 adults 2 children was receiving $9000 from the Canadian government in assistance . Meanwhile, If a Canadian owes $10 in taxes, the government is coming after you and will charge you interest. The entire immigration/ student , work visa , refugee program needs to be reviewed. Changes need to be made with quotas drastically reduced.. Laws need updating. I’m not saying we don’t help people escaping drastic situations, but we can’t be a free for all society. Don’t forget that Canadians don’t want to have children anymore. So without immigration, canadas population will eventually fall to zero. Canada is a relatively empty country. If our governments were smart we could have the largest housing construction and business development program in the history of the world. There is no shortage of land in Canada, but we aren’t building houses because of incompetent politicians . Immigration creates jobs by increasing aggregate demand, but the country cannot absorb this many in such a short time.

I worked in a retail store with where Indians shopped regularly. They were the very rude to the sales helps. They talked down to us and they were the worst thieves the store has ever seen. Our regular customers started going else ware because of this problem. I'm afraid Canada is no longer a great, desirable country because we have aloud it to be taken over by the east indians. It is the governments fault but is is also the fault of the indians because they have not adapted to the Canadian way of life. They want us to adapt to their way of life. Please close the doors to any further indian immigrants or students . Go back to India if you don't like what Canada wont do for you.. I am a senior citizen and it makes me sick to see what you people have done to my country.

I'm 52 years old and a Canadian citizen my whole life. Canada has always been a welcoming country. I have friends from every part of the world here in Canada. But in the couple years there has been a brutal influx of Indians in Canada. My build alone had maybe 3 Indian households. Now more than 60% of the building is indians. And the problem is 6 to 8 people living in a 2 bedroom apartment. We use to have 1 garbage bin in the basement. Now we have 3 and they are over flowing and they leave garbage everywhere( I've watched them do it). Not everyone has house keys so they leave the security door open all hours of the day allowing criminals to get into the building. They have shit in the laundry room and the garage(I have seen this happen). They smoke in the building halls and lobby. They Dont use laundry detergent when washing their clothes so the laundry machines stink really bad. I have to was the laundry machine before even putting my clothes in.Also they have taken every job in the business in my neighborhood. They aren't very friendly. They come into my restaurant and act like entitled brats and hang out for 6 to 7 hours in groups of 20 and don't tip. They're loud and demanding. Now our regular client's have stopped coming. Since these new Indians have come here they have tainted everything. I have never been a racist individual in my whole life. My family is very diverse. We are white, black, packistan, and Asian. In the last 3 years I am so disgusted in the quality of people that have been coming to this country. The biggest group is Indians. I'm sorry but be don't need any more of these assholes. We have enough of our own assholes

I came to Canada 18 years ago from South Asia and work really hard to be in a position where I’m now. I’m not opposed to the immigrant anyway but why almost all the immigrants will come from a particular region? I don’t even recognize this country anymore. Canadian morales are down. So many people came so fast instead of learning Canadian value they are imposing south asian problem in Canadian society. People in South Asia laugh at Canada, and called Canadian govt cute and innocent cause they believe what every temp/student put their application and blindly bring them in Canada. I know thousands of ppl came to Canada by tourist visa and then stay in Canada. Govt even giving them monthly allowance. And I’m paying thousands of dollars in tax. Basically I’m in the same level of a person who do not pay tax but enjoy all the luxury in Canada. It’s a fault of This govt.

I grew up in Canada and I'm white. When I went to high school everyone who I met grew up in the country so it was very easy to socialize and make friends. When I went to college it was a very big culture shock because everyone traveled to Canada from another country mostly India, Korea, China and the Philippines. Most indians/immigrants ive interacted with are insanely smart people. In high school all the native Canadians were a lot less intelligent vaping is a huge issue but everyone was highly social so I was able to fit in easily even though im a pretty unlikeable person. The problem is that in college I couldn't really make any friends because of the cultural differences and since native Canadians are very rare where I was studying the culture was also kinda different. So it kinda makes me feel like im an alien in my own country. But honestly everyone kept to them selves a lot more. There are a bunch of other factors like people hyper focusing on studying but I wish people would just socialize more instead of just doing their own thing.\n\nI still remember back in high school when people used to know about everything that happened if there was something that happened everyone would know about it because everyone would talk about it there were group chats with tons of people in it where people would organize things or share memes. I think people should take inspiration from this and probobly do this more often but now its honestly just very lonely.

So I understand why Canadians feel they way they do. Especially the ones born and raised here. I'm 31, was born here, and I often feel the same way everyone else does. The only problem that I see is that the issues that are in Canada are also in every other Western country. I'm concerned with the future, but I also know that throughout every generation, there are ups and downs. I'm willing to stick it out. I live outside of Toronto,I love the lack of natural disasters and access to water, and I still feel very safe. Although crime is up, it is nothing compared to the U.S. \n\nI'm actually living quite comfortably. Although my costs have gone up, I have made smart decisions in my life that allow me to live well. I own my own house, don't have car or credit card debt, and I only need to earn 40k a year to cover all of my bills. Every cent extra I earn goes to paying down my mortgage, gym, and golf once a week. \n\nThe question is, is it better l elsewhere? I don't know, but I am trying to be happy with what I have instead of what I could have had by being born 30 years too late. Ultimately, I would rather stay here work within the system to change it and continue to make smart decisions that put me ahead. Starting out all over again makes my stomach sick, and I love this country, despite it's flaws and its government, it has great people and beautiful nature. \n\nBest wishes to all of you other Canadians, and let's make it the Canada we want and deserve again.

The Canadians have no idea about over crowding of immigrants. Come to Europe and open your eyes to the problems here. The EU which is only slightly larger than Canada (9.9m sq km vs 10.1m sq km) but has had over 30 million immigrants since the 1980s. Canada is a vast empty country compared to any EU Country, there is loads of land there to build new homes, but they don't for some unknown reason.

Can't speak to the situation regarding immigrants. However, NO Canadian that I know wants to emigrate.\n\nHigh taxes.....all relative. Social programs are a safety net and save from having to pay out of pocket (security and peace of mind are worth their weight in gold).\n\nThe problem with your FB posts was caused by FB itself. Since COVID-19 there has has been an epidemic. However, it is not limited to Canads; other countries are experiencing the same phenomena.\n\nCost of housing.......also not limited to Canada.\n\nImmigrants.....it is extremely difficult to uproot from one's native country and quickly integrate into another, no matter the country. It generally takes years to acclimatize. And often, you've left your heart behind.\n\nSalaries....been to Singapore. Salaries may be higher but the cost of everything is also much, much higher.\n\nAnd moving to the USA......guns, health care, social safety nets, politics?\n\nNo matter where you live, it has its challenges. So I'm pretty content.living in Canada. Of couse we need to continually focus on the.lot of ALL Canadians.

I know Canada has lots of problems I’m a third generation Ukrainian Canadian and I have travelled to many countries around the world and this country will always be home. I also am proud to have a Canadian passport lets me travel the world and how so many people all over the world love Canadians. We are well respected all over the world ??

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. It's said that where we are is where we're supposed to be. I may as well take my chances, make the best of a crappy situation and stay here. There really is no better or worse place than Canada. The majority of the countries in the world are struggling with their own problems. I'm not willing to jump from the frying pan into the fire. One of the biggest reasons I want to stay in Canada is that if it does come to a nuclear shooting war it would be very unlikely that Canada would be attacked. So here I'll stay. For better or worse. The LIberals won't be in power forever and if people have the smallest amount of sense, so few will vote for them in the next election that the Liberals will lose party status. I fervently hope that happens. ;)

I’m Canadian, I’ve considered leaving, but I think no matter where I move, these problems we’re having will eventually end up at whichever country I choose to live.

So many Canadians in the same situation — perhaps use your Canadian passport ? so many better places for you to be… find a nice job across the border in the US — it’s so easy to get a TN work Visa, or work tax free in the UAE, or build a nice career in Singapore. I had the same problem with Australia — it’s my home, and my heart will always fondly call it home forever. Australia is a big country with small job market, generally ignorant (but nice) people and limited economic diversity. One gets proper civic amenities only in either Melbourne or Sydney e.g., top notch medical care, a wide variety of groceries etc. Taxation is very high and although some people will tell you “we are well taken care of…” that is not true nowadays. The Australian Government’s policies over the last 40 years destroyed manufacturing, the economy, working conditions and inflated the property market. A reasonable 2-bedroom apartment in a Sydney suburb could cost you Au$2000-3000 in rent or Au$500,000+ to buy — and that goes higher as you get closer to downtown Sydney. The problem is that incomes are not high enough in Australia and housing quality is less than average overall for these ridiculous prices. Food, tolls and petrol cost a lot, although Sydney and Melbourne’s fresh food markets give you better prices than you’ll find in most other cities. My wife and I had a combined income of over Au$300,000/year while we lived there. We finally left Australia and moved to the US because even with our relatively high income we could only have an average house for around Au$1.8 million, we couldn’t fill up the tub and have a proper bath because of water restrictions, our kids would get an average schooling and their only dream in life would be to one day own a house. We didn’t want to live like that, so we wrapped up and left for good. The US is much better for skilled people — I don’t mean plumbers, tilers, roofers or landscapers, although life is good for them too. I’m sure someone will reply to this comment about the gun violence in the US. All I can say is that in the US we have the option to defend ourselves whereas in Australia we are expected to quietly die if someone kicks us in the head, stabs us or shoots us. Quality of life is good here in the US for me and my family. Fly free, mate!

It's actually mind boggling. I'm Canadian. I have friends and family in the U.S. I would get questioned a lot when coming to visit New York, NJ, etc. I have seen people denied access to boarding buses. What has happened in the past 2 years? The U.S. and Canadian government must absolutely work together and come up with active solutions to solve this problem. If people want to immigrate. Its best that it's done through the proper legal channels.

As an immigrant, I've been here since I was 14, and now I'm 29. I embrace the culture and strive to become a true Canadian, respecting our diversity regardless of race. However, I've noticed that some other immigrants, whether legal or illegal, gather in large groups—sometimes 200 people or more—playing loud music in their own languages and dancing as if they were still in their home country. This is a problem.

This is great Canada. I'm so happy you are finally stopping the influx of usage to the Canadian citizens. These people coming into our countries must fight in their own countries to fix their own problems instead of using us all. The world is now over populated. We don't need more polluting, drawing, destroying, and over breeding.

I’m an immigrant we came in 1982 , but the problem now is a lot of people here don’t want to integrate with Canadian society and want instead bring their own beliefs. Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. But you have to work for it because nothing is free. The key word is to become one of us , to become Canadian ??

I’m immigrant from Iraq. Came in 2009 and I can say Canada has immigration problem. There’s no way you are getting these students back to India. When I came to Canada I came because I wanted to make it my second home. A country that I’m willing to actually fight for. These guys are here just to make money and send it back to India. They don’t like Canada they don’t like Canadians they don’t care about the country and the land. They are here to milk Canada and it’s effecting Canadians. When a store whole operation is run by Indians do you think a Canadian will get hired?

As a permanent resident who immigrated from Eastern Europe, passed all the stages of the official immigration program (skilled worker) I'm just shocked what is happening in Canada. Canada is lost, the problem is much deeper than you think. The main problem is not low wages, high property prices, etc, the root cause is that native Canadians are too tolerate, too kind, too polite and can't just say (and act) - get fucking out of my country, all those illegal indian students and temporary workers. \nI believe cultural damage being done to this country is much more dangerous than any possible economic benefits from mass immigration. I'm not a Canadian. The rational question to ask is--how much of the problems noted are new and real; how much is due to immigration; how much is fabricated by self-seeking politicians; how much is due to the wealthy becoming wealthier; and what should we (all nations, not just Canada) do about world-wide inequity. I'm not saying that it is the wealthier nations' responsibility to provide for the less wealthy and the impoverished, but what should we do? Anything? Nor am I saying, we should have less so that others can have a little more. But should we ignore those who have less--far less? And, how much of the problem, real or not, is due to the reasons given in this video? In this video, I do not see any serious statistics or economic analysis. A theme in this video is that growth is essential. But there's a limit to that too. Maybe these are signs that the world of growth across the globe is ultimately doomed. Are we capable of understanding the world with sufficient precision? Or is all our economics ultimately a sham?

As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. I am watching this video from Canada and I have 4 words for you - “DO NOT COME HERE!!!” Everything that was mentioned in the video is absolutely true. Canada is facing many problems, unaffordable housing, broken healthcare systems, homeless people, drugs. I am always scared to walk in downtown at night when I’m returning from work. And the worst part is, you cannot even defend yourself here if a homeless person is attacking you. If you do that you will be prosecuted saying that why did you touch that homeless guy and it is a violation of human rights, which is stupid. So does that mean that we should just let a random homeless person kill us?? How does that make sense?? My friend who was having an asthma attack had to sit in the emergency room for 8 hours. If something would have happened, who would be responsible? And the list just goes on. And what does the Canadian prime minister do about that….? Let a guy be a girl and a girls become a guy? What does that even mean??? I have nothing against the LGBTQ people. That’s your life do whatever you want, I don’t care. Canada has always been a peaceful, prosperous, progressive and a good governance oriented nation. In the recent decade, too much of woke, radical left wing ideology has penetrated into policy and public institutions that have led to Canada’s current day crisis. \n\n2. This country has always welcomed talented immigrants who are willing to integrate with the Canadian society, embrace its values, traditions and culture. However, in the last 10 years, too many refugees and reckless mass immigration has put an incredible pressure on the economy, infrastructure and social cohesion. \n\n3. The political leadership has allowed reckless mass immigration without caring to boost the economy/infrastructure to handle the volume and hence the sorry state of affairs. \n\n4. Too many immigration consultants of Indian origin engage in outright VISA frauds (yes, this is unfortunately true) leading to ppl coming in as a tourist and then seeking asylum or converting their visa into a student visa (55 year olds from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat coming here as students).\n\n5. A significant chunk of people coming from India (esp. Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat) seeking a permanent residency in Canada are using student visas as a back door to claim eligibility for PR/citizenship. This is downright abusive and was never intended to be used like this. This has fueled a fake college diploma industry into Canada where “2-room” colleges have sprung up along the highways giving out fake diplomas and certifications for easy cash. Thus, the students, the immigration consultants and the fake diploma issuing colleges are all getting benefited from this scam. The internet is filled with such sting operations by Canadian officials exposing Indian students/immigration consultants. Do check them out. \n\n6. Unlike the past, the recent batch of immigrants in the last 3 years or so, make no effort at all to integrate into Canadian society and abuse the system, create law and order problem, drive recklessly, talk loudly in public spaces, litter everywhere, cross railway tracks like they do in India, steal liquor from stores, shamelessly collect food from food banks (as a way to save on groceries) that are meant for the elderly, disabled or those that are in utter poverty. It wasn’t like this ever before. In cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Surrey, the Khalistan movement + gangs involved in theft, drugs and human trafficking are from Punjab/Haryana and they have mushroomed here like crazy. A good 30-40% criminals in prison or on bail in these cities are of India ethnicity. \n\nIt is behaviours like these by Indians in the recent few years that has thoroughly infuriated native Canadians and now they hate the rest of us that have lived here peacefully and have been good citizens. These students from India came to Canada under a student visa knowing fully well that they are supposed to go back after the completion of their studies, and now they are DEMANDING that they be issued extensions in work permits and be considered for PR. This is insane! This is because they never intended to return to India in the first place and were abusing the system as a back door entry. They are threatening to go on hunger strikes and what not. Legally, on a student visa, they are NOT allowed to participate in any sort of activism. \n\nNOBODY that comes to our country on a temporary visa (student, tourist etc.) has the right to dictate terms to us and demand that we change our immigration policies based on their preferences. Western Canadian here. Moved away from the coast last year because of the ideological capture and literally watching the community dissolve and collapse in front of my eyes. I’m a Canadian and my wife is an immigrant for Punjab and even she thinks this is all getting out of control. She came here to start a new life with me after we met and to get away from Indian culture which she thinks is now seeping into everything. In India it’s survival of the fittest, one must do everything they do and take advantage of everything in order to scrap by. Canada and the Canadian mindset isn’t equipped to handle that, so it’s no surprise you’re suddenly seeing Indians everywhere who are telling Indians back home how to exploit the systems to get more money fast. Hijacking what systems Canadians have to gain the social mobility that they can’t have in India but in doing so they’re making it like India. They don’t respect any other culture than their own my wife won’t even step foot in Brampton because it looks, sounds, and even starting to smell like India. And the problem is being exasperated because these people who are from very tight families are trying to bring their whole families too people who are elderly with no literacy or language skills to integrate into Canadian society to work and contribute to the economy so they just live off of their children who came first. The problem with most Canadians is that they are parroting the leftist rhetoric. I have chatted with many people that I met in the nearby park when my dog was still alive, but every time I tried to feel people out about their stance on immigration, they immediately began to regurgitate the brainwashed bullshit that the woke left had fed them. I came from France back in 2015 whith my familly when Harper was still prime minister at the time , really I'd say things have been really great , my family and I have worked hard to get to where we are today and have always wanted to give back to our community here but I am disgusted to see in 2024 what Trudeau has done to the country and to see that immigration is no longer as prestigious as it used to be. Unlike some people we have today, I had to wait 3 years with my family before receiving approval to move to Canada (after so many exams, appointments and waiting times). I did my middle school here until college and I'm currently still looking for work in correctional and when I see that people arrive here afterwards without being permanent residents, who are literally flooding spots at colleges/university and also jobs that are normally open for young canadians in their 15-16 (When I was in high school, my first job was at a McDonald's, and without exception, everyone there was Canadian. Today, when I go back to the same McDonald's for a cheeseburger every now and then, the entire staff is nothing but Indians) .As a person with an immigrant background, I'm the first one to say that there's a very big problem in Canada, and that current immigration, mainly from India, is no longer for economic reasons but to reunite families.(They do not, and will never, assimilate into Canadian culture.)Now that I've grown up in Canada for almost half my life, I'm already thinking about either returning to France or start over somewhere else if nothing changes.\n\nThe Trudeau government, uncontrolled immigration, dangerous idelogies from extreme far left idea, rising unemployment, and economic misery getting worse every day , gradually pushes me away from the country I love, Oh Canada.

Being an Indian living in India I can tell you one thing that mostly people who are not 'good enough' in anything pay lumsum amount of money to move to Canada. For instance, most of the students going to Canada for study, lack foundational knowledge that should've been taught to them at school. Take a GRE-like exam by randomly selecting Indians residing in this area and u will understand what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, the current Canadian govt knows this and capitalise on this problem as they have turned the education system of Canada into a money-vending machine. Furthermore, no skill development opportunities and lack of jobs intensify these problems as these individuals are never exposed in a multicultural urban setting. That is why likeminded individuals aggregate and live in silos. Lastly, for my Indian brothers and sisters, I would like to say that yall should try to assimilate with the culture rather than live in silos. That doesn't necessarily mean yall should abandon ur religion and culture, but try to participate more in various activities associated with Canadian culture. Like Im a Hindu, but I participate in Eid & Christmas as well in India.. We should be open to new experiences, especially when moving to a foreign country, one should be able to adapt.. just like one adapts to the weather, one should also embrace the culture.. Try talking to people who are 'non-Indians', have a genuine conversation, find out the history of the place and various other key milestones in the region.. mostly engage in amicable social behaviour. Holding grudge & closing doors to new interactions would not solve anything, neither for Canadians nor for immigrants.. Live and let live.. Cheers!

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

My capital gains on investments is around 15%. I get free health care (which while obviously not free - is paid out of my taxes, yet isn't rationed or in-network restrictions, doesn't have copays and cover 90% of my medical needs). I have a government that even at its worst, is orders of magnitude more rational and public serving than the US (and god help you if Trump gets back in). Not to mention a country that doesn't literally have a major gun violence/mass shooting even EVERY FRICKING WEEK, unlike the US.\n\nAnd yes, I live in Metro Van and I have an 850 sq ft two bedroom apt I'm renting for $1250/mo - so maybe the problem isn't simply that the housing market is too tight (which it is), but that you've picked a city in high demand that's boxed in on four sides - ocean to the west, mountains to the north, US border to the south and what little farmland the lower mainland can sustain to the east. You could, of course, move elsewhere in Canada like Edmonton or Calgary, but yeah...not whiny enough, I guess.\n\nSorry, you're entitled to you views of course, but I can't help thinking most of your problems are self-inflicted... so yeah, move to the States.\n\nI'm SURE it'll work out better for you....
