Coffee, chocolate, palm oil, bananas and much of our produce that comes from Mexico and S.America will increase in price if Trump puts tariffs on Mexico.

My husband and I are engineers from the US and Mexico and have lived in Germany for 15 years. Both speak fluent German and have raised three kids here. Yes, many people are racist. But if you learn the language well it’s not that hard to integrate and then things get much better. Germans can be the best friends you’ve ever had, much better than superficial Americans, but it can be hard to break through the shell. We have always loved it here. But to be honest with the steadily declining economy, massive scarcity in housing, and no salary increases in years, we are considering leaving as well. The outlook isn’t good for the Automotive industry and we could make double or triple the salary elsewhere. It would be very difficult to pull up our roots now gs better get better quick or we won’t stay much longer.

So sad that we are here again. Scapegoat immigrants all you want but no number of deportations is going to undo an economic system rigged against you, which continues to siphon off an increasing amount of our collective resources at the detriment of our society. The rich and powerful are laughing at us, as we misdirect our anger at those exploited just as much, if not more, than we are.

Moved here from Ireland (which has it's own issues) in 2011 but really thinking of leaving in 2024. Feels like I'm living in India, plus cost of living is increasing all the time...gas prices, interest rates, rent, utilities, car insurance, etc...... Canada is pretty much in the toilet now.

I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. Most of these people are very hardworking good people that come here to work for 5 to 7 years save up money and then go back to Mexico or Guatemala build a house and start a business in their own country. \n\nThis year i begrudgingly voted for trump because for me the biggest issue is with the federal and state regulations that make farming much harder than it needs to be especially regulations on diesel engine emissions that cost me tens of thousands of dollars a year and many months of not being able to use my equipment that I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. And Kamala was the one who enforced the CARB emmisions standards that diesel engine manufactures have to comply with to sell into California which is the biggest consumer of these engines. \n\nLike right now I have my pickup truck that's been down for 6 months because of emissions problems and so many of the vehicles have emissions problems that the parts to fix it don't even have an ETA because they need to fix so many trucks and I have two other tractors broke down that I can't use all my friends that are farmers have a lot more and dems want to significantly increase emmisions standards in 2026. \n\nYou simply can't grow food at scale without reliable diesel engines There is no alternative The vast majority of food is planted and harvested mechanically in the US The bigger issue with food is not well illegals get deported It is will the diesel engines run to harvest 90% of the calories in plant them. \n\nWe have robots that can milk the cows most of the things that migrants harvest can be harvested mechanically and they are in other parts of the world It's just cheaper to do it with labor once that's not the case it will be mechanized. I would prefer to keep migrants here but give them legal working status if they have productive jobs and they pay tax.

First Trump's administration is going to be jacked up with little known outliers with controversial and radical ideas. That is what Trump is attracted to. His ideas of tariffs and mass deportations are deplorable. They both disadvantage the US instead making it better. However, the tariffs may as well be a scam to get companies profits as when Trump says 10% on item A, companies are going to raise the cost of item A 12 to 15% or so and blame the cost increase on tariffs. For deportation's, I hope most people realize that many working the fields as low wage labor are very well illegals, but they are hired because they keep food costs low. Raising all prices for the poor Republicans will not be beneficial because prices on goods can increase 15% or more but their employer is certainly not going give them a 15% raise to match the cost of living. So Trump has already made the business environment good for more profits by planning to make life more expensive for everyone so business can absorb the additional profits. Probusiness politicians help businesses make money and that money comes from households and the government. And making the government spend more means the government needs to tax more. But TRump is cutting taxes for the people that have the most money. And Trump raising prices with tariffs justs makes households poorer and business richer. Naturally, the stock market will record highs when all the indicators are that business will be making much greater profits from households when Trump takes office.

Go get 'em Trump. I didn't vote for him, but this is going to be highly entertaining, much more so than before.\nI do feel sorry for the women who may suffer because of his and the Republican Party's efforts, but the majority of White women voted for him. I think his numbers among them actually increased in this election.

I would like to know how the Republicans will bring down groceries kike this man says? Please tell me how well that is going to go over ... Uh Mr, Grocer owner .. lower your prices. Tell the growers and the farm workers to pay less.. oh and by the way nobody going to want to do these jobs unless you pay a living wage and then you will really see how much the prices will increase.

What has WHITE MALE Prez Trump achieved in his first term?? National debt increased from 19 to 28 Trillion USD., No border wall, illegals did not stop, ..covid jokes.. Putin's puppy, Xi's chicken...\nWhat has WHITE MALE VP Mike Pence achieved in 4 years? He spoke to Jesus Christ.\nBLACK FEMALE VP Harris. achieved much more in 3 months of as a substitute campaigner for Prez Joe Biden. \nVP Harris was much better qualified than traitor Trump who provoked attacks and ransacking of US capitol and psycho Pence's antics... \nVP Harris lost 2024 due to racism and sexism with American voters. \n God bless VP Kamala Harris and her family.

A functioning immigration system must remove illegal aliens \n \nRecent disclosures by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that hundreds of thousands of criminal immigrants are at large in the United States raise the question of why the Biden-Harris administration isn’t doing more to remove them. Increasing deportations is a necessary part of fixing what Vice President Kamala Harris refers to as “our broken immigration system.” She is right to describe it that way. But the administration in which she serves was the one to break it, not least by impeding ICE deportations. \n \nCurrently, about 1.3 million aliens under final orders of removal — those who have received due process and been ordered deported — are on ICE’s “non-detained docket” of 7 million individuals. These individuals include criminal aliens, whom Congress has directed ICE to detain and remove. But ICE can’t remove many of them because they’re from so-called recalcitrant countries — nations that refuse to provide the U.S. government with the travel documents it needs to facilitate the return of their nationals. The Supreme Court has held that, with only narrow exceptions, even detained criminals due to be deported must be released after six months absent a “significant likelihood of removal in the reasonably foreseeable future.” If ICE can’t get their travel documents, there’s no likelihood of removal. \n \nFortunately, Congress gave the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a tool to force recalcitrant countries to comply. Unfortunately, the Biden-Harris administration won’t use it. Under section 243(d) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), once DHS notifies the State Department that a foreign country “denies or unreasonably delays” the return of its nationals, the secretary of state must “order consular officers in that foreign country to discontinue granting immigrant visas or nonimmigrant visas, or both,” to nationals of that country. The George W. Bush and Obama administrations used that authority sparingly, each restricting visa issuance to just one country in order to force compliance. As my colleague Mark Krikorian recently noted, “Trump made much wider use of it, and got results.”\nSOURCE, CENTER FOR IMMIGRATION STUDIES

Warning for New Yorkers: Moped-Riding Illegal Aliens Allegedly Robbing Outdoor Diners \nJuly 12, 2024 \nr \nImagine this: you’re enjoying a warm summer evening in New York City, dining al fresco, proudly wearing the luxury watch you worked so hard to buy. Suddenly, a pair of armed, moped-riding bandits appear, robbing you of your prized possession. And it turns out these suspected criminals are reportedly newly-arrived illegal aliens. \n \nThe NYPD has identified a disturbing trend. Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny reports that New York City has witnessed 116 robbery patterns involving these mopeds so far this year, a staggering increase from 32 at this time last year. In some instances, one incident spirals into 12 in a single night. Kenny notes that these 116 patterns have resulted in approximately 600 crimes. \n \nPolice say the robberies have some things in common. Two men show up on the mopeds with at least one carrying a gun, and they’re apparently looking for luxury watches. Police also say the crimes are allegedly committed by newly-arrived illegal aliens. \n \nSurveillance footage captures the audacity of these alleged criminals. One video shows a man brazenly circling a table of outdoor diners, demanding their watches before escaping on a dirt bike. In another instance, two men approached a man waiting outside a high-end restaurant, demanded his $100,000 watch, and sped away on a moped. Police say in another recent incident, gun-wielding robbers held up an entire restaurant. \n \nThere’s been lots of talk about illegal alien crime surging under the leadership of President Biden due to the millions of foreign nationals that have entered the United States since he took office. High-profile crimes such as the murders of Laken Riley and Rachel Morin, allegedly committed by illegal aliens, have garnered much attention. But the increased crime can also be seen with these robbery incidents in New York City.\nSOURCE, FAIR US org

That old lady is absolutely and outright lying. First off, she stood in lines for hour or days to get her green card? That means she came at a time when immigration was much easier and wanted, to increase gdp and to do the jobs normal Americans didn’t want to. Now, immigration takes forever, many years in fact, because the older republican white generation figured out that they yet again the minority, which has never actually changed. But republicans now use the immigration card because it’s literally their only option, why do you think Trump stopped the bill. He would be losing so much support. Also, for that old Mexican lady to say those things about her own family, tells me, she is not someone who cares for others or may even care at all. She became a racist just like the republicans and her family should be ashamed of her. Lastly, different times of immigration, this time around, those leaving other countries are trying to save their families lives, having to deal with authoritarian dictators, drug cartels and corrupt governments. She may have had some of that, but I doubt it, she just wanted to move here and make a better life for herself, screw her loved ones. She is an abomination and one of the reasons this country has lost itself, if a Mexican immigrant cannot feel sympathy or empathy for those people in a very similar situation than that person has truly been corrupted by the republicans “all about me” mantra.

As FRENCH, I think it is more an issue with policies set by both governments!!! You know you bring students IN and why don’t you build houses and encourage construction???? In France, many students (mainly Africa, and French departments like Guadeloupe, Tahiti or Martinique) come to study there (for free and we are proud of it!!!) BUT - unlike Canada - we do NOT have the same issues as Canada (our healthcare is NOT under pressure and our housing prices haven’t really increased that much as compared to Canada for example!!!) to me, the students are NOT to blame!!! It is the fault of the deciders (at different level) who have FAILED to set the right policies!!!! The schools are also to blame as some (not all) are so obsessed with making profits out of the higher international fees, which by way, subsidize Canadian students!!! So in Canada (not in France or Germany), the money that allows schools to function come from international students who BRING LOTS OF MONEY for the Canadian economy!!!! in France, it is different as the universities are FREE and are fully subsidized by the French government… but yes;) you have to speak French fluently to attend them!!! \nSo dear Canadians, do not blame foreign students thanks to whom your universities thrive and remain existant!!! Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!\nAlso, reading from comments, I notice that many here have NEVER alert their own country!!! Stop blaming foreigners if YOU, YOURSELF DID NOT even get the BALLS to dare studying in places different than yours (like Germany, France, Sweden, Japan…)!!!! Blame and NO BALLS!!! “Grosse gueule mais Pas de couilles” as we say in France!!! Go to Europe if you dare, deal with another language, other cultural codes (we French are big complainers and are very very rude when behind wheels!!!! And we hate people who cannot speak French properly … like North Americans) and We will see how good some of you will do!!!

Why do people say she choose Trump over family?? She just wants everyone to follow the law like she did.. also remember the USA was a much different place 20+ years ago, the amount of terrorist, criminal and trafficker has more than 100% increased, times are different and we need a secure border and allow good law abiding citizens to come in.

For the last decade it’s been obvious we had too much immigration. And instead of slowing or stopping it. Our Government doubled down and increased the numbers. Will you vote this same Government back into power? I certainly will NOT!!!

Ummmm isnt it like 30 years too late to be questioning the Brampton issue? It was established long ago. Pretty much accepted as an established reality.\n\n And this non white I.D. is strange. What do people think , all the non whites are in some sort of unity? Lol . Yah right. Let me tell you a secret about Indians. There worse conflicts and problems are with their own relatives. Dont beleive me? K. \n\n Anyway. The real problem behind so much of what is going on has to do with exponential population growth. An 8th of the worlds population has been generated in the last 14 years. 1 FKN BILLION PEOPLE in that small window of time. We hit 7 billion in 2011. THATS FKN INSANE AND THE WORLD IS NOT GOING TO WAKE UP AND TELL THE THIRD WORLD TO FKN KNOCK IT OFF. NO ELECTED OFFICIAL TRADITIONALLY TOUCHES THE POPULATION ISSUE. IN 58 HUXLEY CALLED IT BUT HIS ESTIMATE WAS EXCEEDED. \n SUCH A FKD UP TIME. PEOPLE ARE NOT EVEN DISCUSSING THIS. DISCUSSING EVERYTHING THIS MAIN PROBLEM TRICKLES DOWN INTO. YET THE MAIN ONE CAUSING THE OTHERS, (MANKIND'S NUMBERS THEMSELVES) IS UNDER THE FKN RADAR. FKD UP. \n\nP.S. If you want to discuss something ABOUT BRAMPTON more people may not be aware of unlike the Indian population , you would focus on the crime increase. Also if your going to talk to whites , interview some home owners with cohesive families not burnt out losers (hate to say it) that have ALWAYS felt like outcast in one form or another. \n Besides, in the real world , understand that there was a white flight factor in Brampton that perpetuated for years. The ones that stayed usually didnt have the ability, means, let alone a plan to leave. \n\n LETS KEEP IT REAL. NOT THAT ITS GOING TO MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE.

I am a born and raised Canadian and have seen my country go downhill for at least the last couple of decades.\nHealth Care: doctors and nurses are moving Stateside in droves. No, the US doesn’t have universal health care but there are insurance plans and the care is enormously better. My girlfriend had 4th stage throat cancer. In Calgary the doctors at some point told her there was nothing more they could do for her and to get her affairs in order. Her father sent her to the Anderson Clinic in Houston - yes it was expensive but they treated her, saved her life and that was 24 years ago. \nIt’s common in our emergency rooms to wait up to 12 hours to be seen. \nOur system isn’t progressive and doctors and nurses don’t get paid near as well as in the States. That being said, I am happy that I don’t have to pay to see the doctor or have a stay in the hospital. \nCost of Living: Once upon a time it was good - housing was cheap and many companies had the full range of benefits and salaries were equal to the cost of living. Now these same companies have stripped the benefits by hiring people under contract so they don’t have to give them benefits. \nRents are through the roof and in Calgary there are no rent caps. Buying a decent house in a decent neighbourhood is impossible unless you inherit or make a six figure income. This, in no small part, has created a homelessness crisis that never had been seen in such numbers before. Crime also is getting worse by the day. Canada was once known as a safe country. This is no longer the case.\nEverything is very expensive and the tax very high. Plus, we have to suffer winter! Where I live, the joke is that we have two seasons - July and winter!\nI still like my city (not love) but I am retired and own two houses - one inherited and the other bought when it was affordable (32 years ago). Calgary would not be a place I would live if I was a newcomer. Vancouver is beautiful but you really pay for it. \nTrudeau has helped make a big mess of things with immigration and lax criminal laws. My beef is not with immigrants I must state - it is with the lack of jobs for them when they come, thereby forcing bad living conditions and an over reliance on the social systems. I add that the immigration population is much more willing to work in jobs they have to take (despite a high education) than our natural and bloated citizens.\nSo yes, Canada has increasingly gone downhill. On a positive note, hand guns at least are not legal and our country has beautiful natural land.

Canada's national debt increased so much is because of providing msp to all these international students... $100 pee month per person to get full medical coverage? Some of the students came here just to treat their sickness !!!

There is more to this story than this report says. It’s complicated. I have seen behaviour of students once here. How much support they get from families? If they have to pay their tuition , housing and other living expenses they seem to have to work more than what they are allowed. Overcrowding of homes lack of housing spots not gaining knowledge and skills required. Fine tuning reason for need for immigration and developing qualities in immigrants that countries vye for. Changing the composition of population should not be the problem. Creating conditions for getting the right fit is needed. Point system was good I think but too slow to fill the gap of people needed. Municipalities and province are also to be accountable. How do they manage the fast changes. This student route to immigration started less than a decade ago. I find the speed with which housing needs increased mushrooming of colleges increased and beneficiaries of facilitators that responded to market demands have I think created the problem. A grass roots observation. Seeing just a portion of the problem.

YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish. You and many new immigrants forget this is not India and expect everyone to bow to you and that is what we are against. i Have some awesome friends that are new immigrants and are respectful and want to learn about history and current events and impacts they have and how to reprove Canada not destroy Canada

As an indian who aspires to go abroad i think the immigration policies need to be much more strict because in future these numbers are only going to increase rapidly and more of educated indians are going to avoid canada and the uneducated ones will just keep on spawning there under these immigration circumstances

Essentially because Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada didn't care who they let into the country and flooded it with anyone from violence--ridden countries who could make it to our borders. Thus while no doubt getting some worthwhile immigrants plenty of people who were troublesome in their own country were now gifted to Canada. This resulted in increased crime and violence at the same time the Liberal Party of Canada moved to disarm Legacy Canadians and to reduce punishments for criminal behaviour. Pretty much the same as in not so jolly old England although we haven't reached English levels of daily violence.

Why is the increase of foreign students an issue? We have an old dying population that is a burden on the health and social systems. These kids have to pay the enormous tuitions and pay rent and taxes to survive. They contribute 10 times as much as the Canadians each year. It sounds like xenophobia at its best. We want to take their money then send them back ?

Government only saw all the extra tax revenue they only heard the ching ching ching of money been dropped on them they didnt give a shit about the Canadian citizens our young peoples futures all they cared about was increasing the number of tax payers and tax dollars they get Much cheaper to bring in immigrates then to have citizens making babies u have to wait 18 years for to grow up and get jobs and start paying taxes. personally I say shut our doors no more immigration for any reason unless your an orphaned kid no family no home starving in another country then we are open for business

Well, Brian, if you think that Canada has been overrun with interlopers swarming into your country then take into consideration what it’s like here in Australia. In January 2014, there were 540,000 people in Australia on an education visa. But by December 2019, this number had skyrocketed to be 955,000. Due to the emergence of Covid early in 2020, culminated with the number of ISs in Australia being reduced to 700,000 by the end of April, which obviously remained static until the borders were reopened on Nov 3, 2021. \n \nIn the ensuing 6 months under the incumbent LNP government, until it lost office to Labor early in May, there would be a net-increase of 120,000 ISs in Australia, totaling around 810,000. But in the ensuing 2 years under labor the net-increase the number of ISs peaked at a nudge over one million interlopers here at 1,055,000. \n \nThis number is broken down to be 750,000 students enrolled in tertiary courses; 200,000 undertaking vocational education training [VET/TAFE] courses; 70,000 in English training colleges, and the rest are enrolled in primary and secondary schools. Apropos to VET/TAFE these courses entail very dodgy activities from fashion design and decorating abodes to cooking/catering. The VAST percentage of people enrolled in the later categories, which accrues to being about 75% of theses facets are from India and the Subcontinent. \n \nIn order to demonstrate just how much Australia has OVERDOSED on ISs at tertiary levels is to compare the 750,000 studying here in comparison to the US, which has a tad UNDER 1.3 million foreigners in comparable institutions. So, considering the US has a population (which doesn’t include the 15 million illegals) THIRTEEN TIMES that of Australia means that it should have at LEAST nine million foreigners studying in its dominions to be on-par with Australia.

Without them (namely the Indians too), the Canadian universities will struggle to find money and funding! Remember, the system in France is TOTALLY different!!!!

the reason is obvious . thousands of Indians came here and took over all of the job positions in the market , making so much trouble with housing , making the insurance rates increase due to car stealing and carjacking which again Indians and Pakistani people are mainly committing . You just need to go see Brampton , Mississauga ,Pickering ,… don’t know whether you are in Canada or in India .

the 70,000 students were coming in illegally i believe, 70k out of 1million+ that have come per year isn't so bad. I blame this whole situation 100% on the government and it totally does suck that these 70k people coming in are going to be deported but again there were and are so much scams that have been going on. If they lied and cheated on the system i don't think we should feel bad. Canada used to have higher standards. My family obviously are immigrant too but there has been no background checks, no proper procedure in the last few years and 2 races have been getting preferential treatment. Most if not all people that come in from Africa are left on the streets while the your country men, indian, and white looking are given a free house, food budget, and dont have to work.. We paying more for taxes and the government has increased work force by 40% yet wait time for services has trippled 3X, make it make sense.

The reason why it's increasingly more expensive to live now is mostly due to Covid. Worldwide, aproximately 1.7 TRILLION USD was given to corporations after Covid, and almost none of the money has returned to the governments, because well... they didn't plan for it to happen. The rich have gotten richer and the middle class have gotten poorer. When giving away so much money, there is bound to be inflation. The money was used to invest by the rich, buying mostly properties, which is why property prices are skyrocketing. There are so many apartments, particularly in Canada, where nobody lives, because there are so many rich investors buying properties. This phenomenon is not restricted to Canada, but most other large cities in western countries.\n\nYou might think the grass is greener in other parts of the world, but it literally isn't. I live in Norway, one of the richest countries in the world, and the situation is exactly the same here. Everything is getting more expensive, salaries stay stagnant and our currency is absolutely dogshit at the moment due to a failure of basic economics by our government and the central bank. Our oil fund, the wealthiest fund in the world, is actively making trades against our own national currency to make money, but they are making the currency itself worse, thereby reducing the value of it. The value of the oil fund evens out, but it lowers the purchasing capacity for everyone else. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. \n\nPeople would chop off a limb to get a passport in Canada. It is, as you said, a relatively safe place to come home to. There aren't too many countries like that in the world, and you are fortunate. I would advice you to reconsider moving abroad. Sure, Canada has many problems, but I can guarantee you, that living elsewhere in the world at this point is not going to ease your grievances unless you live a very frugal life.

The Immigration Canada should have limit long time ago. The program are being misused. Too much immigrant and increasing crime rate also. The vetting process for those would be immigrants are flawed.

For some history: The previous two governments only hit 20-25% of their stated immigration goals, and were heavily criticized by the provincial governments and business community for it. The current government actually achieved the immigration targets that business and the provinces were demanding. Most of the provincial governments are boasting about how much their populations have grown, and are taking credit for it, but blaming the federal government for the problems the increased population has caused. It is the provinces that have failed to grow health care, education and other services to match the increased population that they asked for, and it is the provinces that haven't increased minimum wages to match the increased cost of living, and it is the provinces that are responsible for housing.

I would blame the Trudeau government, but I also hold those who are bad ambassadors at fault, they get blame on the same level, I cant believe the things im seeing happ My grandfather drove a tank through Italy for this Country and it deeply offends me to see so many immigrants being brought in. I agree with your opinion, and I can sympathize with those who are here for good reasons but Canadians are hurting because of this government, there are no longer jobs , the prices keep increasing while what few places that use to be jobs for Canadians have an indian working and I can't help but become upset when I see so much pain, and have seen so many people take their lives or fall into addiction. \n I've had the pleasure of knowing Indians from the past before immigration became an issue and I would still hold them in high regard , but I care about Canadians, and that might even represent some indian immigrants but not the new wave that have arrived. I would leave if I had somewhere else to go and I think if you are an Indian you should leave for your own safety. This Country is going to descend into some kind of hell soon, especially if war is brought to our soil, anything big right now would kick off alot of hatred, pain, sadness that Canadians coast to coast are dealing with

so it means that we need more charismatic entrepreneurs to make more money and increase the number of competitors. I am not from Canada however I still feel like canada is a new country and it will grow for sure. It's much younger then US and we are experiencing stress and difficulties at the moment but we will rise. I live in Italy and I do not see any opportunities like in here. For sure US is more attractive but I hope Canada will change in the next 10 years. During recessions you can make more money than before. Can I have your opinion as well? I would like to talk to someone about it.

Left Canada 30 years ago and returned to an almost unrecognizable Toronto for a visit this summer. The deterioration of infrastructure was obvious. One underlying reason for much of the change is the emphasis on transfer payments and other entitlements, which limits investment potential. There’s only so much money to go around. Tax increases or increased government borrowing to fund development of schools, hospitals, the military, roads etc are not feasible.

None of this would be happening if Mike Harris hadn't dissolved the rent control board. With no governmental oversight it's become a landlords free-for-all allowing rent to be increased between tenancies by whatever percent the LL choses, utterly insane. And tenants need a place to live so they'll take on a place they can't afford to get a roof over their and then this happens! It's an extremely broken system.\n\nAnd the children of the dying Boomer and previous generations are inheriting these properties and want their 'share' or 'cut'. Their folks were doing fine renting out that 2 bedroom apartment for $1200 or that entire 3-bedroom house for $2000 plus utilities but those amounts of rent once divided between these Boomers two or three, or more, kids $2600-2800 for 2 bedroom apartment or $4000-5000 for an entire house splits up much nicer for the children... broken.

Very surprised at the comments… shes leaving bc her buisness isnt successful online in a country that taxes them. Many countries dont tax businesses income in this way?? . Ppl here keep trying to call non jobs jobs. A fulltime or pt, all supporting financially, get to make my own hours and only work more when they decide. Etc. Its not actual reasons a professional business moves. They want an untraditional workspace AND they just put the canada social/culture changes in there to mention its what she appreciated about canada and now were just likeany other country except high taxes. Especially in the middle, 40,000- what? 100,000? I cant remember the top cut off. Where they stop taxing you so much. Its literally done to ALL CANADAIANS. Not youtube specific income and shed not qualify for cerb with it. She lied to the gov to live on welfare and not claim her ALL income from youtube. She didnt lose her job… bc of covid. Anyhoo, welfare is the same. Shes not going to get all her taxes back under 40,000/year. That means she isnt a successful job on youtube. Shes moving before she gains. She hit over 41,000 and got taxed. Shes complaining about THE SAME TAXES WE ALL PAY. That dont increase. Its the property taxes from owners that pay for public spaces etc. and social services. Youre cheering her on… for a low income buinsess that shouldnt be the reason to move. Its naive. Sorry commentors! I hope you change your minds… ppl also leave bc collections and credit checks dont follow you around the world. Its impossible. I bet for her taxes too…

Because there is too much immigration in a short period of time, the country is overwhelmed and there is not enough housing, healthcare, and infrastructure to accommodate for the rapid increase in population. Housing costs have gone up way too much, partly because the immigration is much higher than the rate at which new homes are being built. So people are not anti-immigration, but they want the immigration to be sustainable.

Why? Because corporations own politicians. This is just symptoms of inequality expressed in too much money in politics. If you want to address the symptoms, increase in migration to raise rents and lower wages, then go after money in politics, after the 1%.\n\nEdit: just look at how corporations are posting record profits, at how the very few own the majority of the assets. Focusing on the symptoms is distracting from the root causes. The entire system is designed to remove wealth from the bottom and funnel it to the top.

why is the communist democrat importing millions of violent illegal immigrants, financing and protecting them, reluctant to arrest and prosecute them, reducing criminal sentences and arrests for known criminals, falsely criticizing and increasing restrictions for law enforcement, aggressive towards self defense victims, disarming law abiding citizens(includes knives, sticks, and any weapon, and won't allow abuse victims w/restraining orders to arm themselves), attacking dog owners, removing property rights, and passing laws that makes defending yourself or disciplining your children a serious legal liability, and possibly destroying your life and your family, helping $billionaires and non Americans take over businesses and property, calling Christians nationalist terrorists, while promoting Muslim cults and actual terrorists like Palistine, and so much more of the same direction? it's not stupidity! it's on purpose! it's communism!

Huge mistake. Unchecked immingration ruined so much. We now have prisoners they left out of jail. \nWay to go, you managed to increase crime while sapping money away from us to pay for immigrants. its a two-fer of lose.

the west has always been welcoming immigrants, be it to meet job demands, or asylum for refugees from less well to do countries, or even retirement. It is okay to let some/ quota for immigrants but i felt recently it has gotten so much it is affecting locals, in terms of property prices, cost of living and rental rates, all increasing due to more demand. plus, over tourism is also pushing out locals. the world is so different from 10 years ago. once immigrants settle, they will set root and apply for PR / citizenship because the standard of living is much higher than their original country. and when population increases, it's going to cause even more pain to the locals. meanwhile, the west is shifting to lower cost countries to live and retire, albeit at a slower rate.

i just asked a.i why construction costs are through the roof and one of three reasons is increased fuel costs ... and shortage of construction workers ... the real problem is the supply and demand ... if you don't agree people should think about what happens when not enough people are buying something at the retail stores - the thing will go on sale. Don't forget the WEF is in Switzerland where they have anonymous Swiss bank accounts and ten billionaires for every politician who attends ... no chance for global real estate investment corporations to bribe our politicians to make life almost unbearable for too many Canadians by bringing in too many people so the price of real estate goes unchecked eh ? It's a vicious cycle now ... construction costs are too high now due to too much immigration ... immigration must be slowed down !!!
