Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. But in groups ( and this doesnt just include indians) you get this group thinking that is prejudice against anyone who isnt one of their own. Im fairly certain its a good demonstration of what a different culture would experience in their own country. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. I know this isnt realitic but it would save them from what a lot of them are gunna end up be exposed to which is experiences with native born Canadians who are going to very rudly show you what happens when you disrespectf someone in their own home. \n\nThe party is over. I work in construction and can confirm a lot of the big companies have been exploiting this system to cut costs because they get hand outs from the government to offset the wages of these foreign workers. \n1. There are some good people who are foreign workers who do good work and want to integrate into our culture, but there are many who do not respect our customs/culture and do shoddy work.\n2. Youths who would otherwise be interested in getting into construction are apathetic, lazy and have no ambition because it's so hard to make ends meet from the ground level.\n3. Why would employers take a lazy apathetic youth over a hard working immigrant, even if they suck at their job and are hard to communicate with?

However, America has provided Canada with favorable trading relations and high-cost subsidies in the form of military and territorial security for decades. That clearly was a slap in the face and wasn't very smart! You had to figure some American president would ultimately say enough!\n\nAmerica has supported, defended, and offset the national defense costs of European nations for over seventy years, while EU countries and their leaders have routinely mocked and ridiculed Americans. Is it really classy to slap the face of someone who protects and supports you and your quality of life? No, it's not! Tariffs on EU products are likely coming soon, and reduced defensive support for Europe means they will have to pay more taxes for their defense and goods.

This is a good step in the right direction. Cut down public sector spending. Since the targets for foreign students are much lower, and the anticipated immigration # should be lower in the next few years, we don't need as many immigration workers. I do hope Immigration Canada would prioritize applicants with higher education, skills that Canada need, etc.

As a Brit I know many decent integrated Indians here. But none of them are recent arrivals. Older immigrants were respectful and wanted to be British and adopt British ways. But newer immigrants act as if we owe them something while acting in disrespectful dirty disgusting ways. For example in India I have to use Indian toilets as Indians do. I don’t pretend I don’t understand how to use them, I don’t need instructions on the door and I don’t break the toilet by standing on it, shytting up the walls and all over the floor and leave it there like that’s normal. I’ve worked in offices where this was routine when Indian contractors were brought in. Integrated Indian men seem to take great pride in dressing smartly and smelling good. But it’s really common for Indians to smell REALLY BAD. Poor personal hygiene plus excessive amounts of Indian food (you’re abroad ffs try some different food!) creates a truly vile odour. Some Indian men also think it acceptable to stare at and harass British girls (although to be fair they do not have as bad a reputation as their neighbours) they are also rude and racist to white people especially women. Some Indians in 2025 still seem to think they’re living under the Raj and Britain is ‘oppressing’ them. They’re not and we’re not. The empire brought benefits to India and left peacefully over 70 YEARS ago. We don’t owe you ANYTHING. This victim mentality means India will NEVER be a proper first world country. You can flood the world with sheer numbers but you will never be respected or improve the world in any way, you will only ever leech off the invention of others. I do not mean to disrespect the many decent Indian people I’m just telling the truth. As a culture your presence outside of India is negative because of the way so many Indians act, trying to create India wherever they go. And they have the cheek to say this is ok because they got colonised. WELL SO DID WE! That is the truth.

India also has the rare distinction of being a potential economic powerhouse that won't deliver for its citizens, so its citizens want to upend their lives and move abroad . . . by any means necessary, especially visa fraud - by pretending to be students and working full-time (in violation of student visa requirements), by engaging in sham marriage for sole (and unlawful) immigration benefit, just to name a few outrageous things Indians do. I'm a foreign national of Indian origin, and I support these rejections. Every sovereign country makes it owns decisions as to who is and isn't allowed to enter their country; India is no exception, given its history of refusing visas (many a times, for political reasons). Aap karo to sahi, aap par aayi to mirchi lagi? Oh, and companies abroad get Indian IT talent not because it is good, but because it is cheap (and eventually delivers projects) - big difference. If Indian IT was so dang awesome, you'd think they'd be visionaries in the field, but nope, by and large, Indians consume; they do not invent, but rather implement existing technologies, and have little to offer to the world in terms of scientific and technological breakthroughs at present - with some exceptions.

Funny how I sat with a Canadian elderly person who looked me in the eye and told me how lazy Canadian youth are and crying that immigrants are getting their jobs when in reality it’s either they don’t have the actual qualification or do not want to work the job. As an employment coordinator, I have received so many Canadians under 35 years of age who want me to help them look for a job but then after all the effort I put in they just send a long message telling me they don’t think they are mentally ready or physically ready or if they are worthy or good enough hence the reason they just want to quit and not get a job anymore.

Because Indians are not good guest at all. They either behave like India is a superpower of some sort (very far detached from reality, India is just a third world country with a big mouth) or they are some rich investors who needs to be given priority everywhere! Learn proper etiquette and some manners. Furthermore, there are just too many Indians trying to escape poverty through immigration...nothing wrong with that but other countries also have issues of their own and cannot accommodate all economic migrants.

It will firm up and curb unfettered immigration so that only those with skills/talent are permitted to travel on work or student visas, which over the last decade has been abused by many who claim visas but fail to deliver academically or are substandard or just dissapear. Things have got so bad now that the visa system needs a severe shake up to weed out undesirables.

Countries do not just reject visas for no reason. Probably because in there data many Indian Nationals over-stay there visa and stay there for good even though tourist visa already expired. Immigration can determined who is entering and departing in their port of entries. Many Indian nationals stay in a country undocumented that's the reason of visa rejection!

Diversity of newcomers made this country good, but now it is just concentrated. Toronto Union station was filled with Indians crossing the track like this is New Delhi..., like they brought their chaos straight into another country. None of us other immigrants from diff nations have brought this kind of behavior without adapting.\n\nAnd for the sake of goodness, if one needs to wear so many layers and walk around the closed space of malls.... wearing deodorant is like common sense and is the basic etiquette for public life in Canada. I have seen many Indians in Canadian recently and many of them are very disappointing. I also met some very good Indian too. Only Indians can change Indians. It is not only human behavior. Why is other country people are not hated? Why are too many Indians appear within short amount of years? Why is corruption and crimes come from Indians more than any other immigrants? Born Canadians and legit immigrants having to go through a rigorous immigration process are very unhappy and cause conflict. Besides all the different ethnicities cause unrest and are ungrateful, daring the burn the Canadian flag, uttering death to Canada, death the US and Israel. These trouble makers have not intentions to assimilate into Canada's culture and are disrespectful to the Canadian government and it's citizens. Our youth are very unhappy and do not see a future for themselves yet have to work very hard and pay unbelievable high taxes. The minimum wages are only 15 bucks an hour which cannot sustain life here in this country. Please stop making false promises to foreigners to come here and be disappointed. This is not a country of milk and honey any longer but poor and enormous homelessness. Hunger, terrible health care, incredible post secondary tuitions and books. Now that president Trump has won the election he is going to place tariffs on Canadian goods and rightfully so. Russia is very interested in the Antarctica and should they or anyone invade Canada we got 3 days of ammunition. The food in AB is very bad for your health. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. Our kids live on the streets, shelters, camping in the woods and using fentanyl and meth all kinds of dangerous drugs. I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Many people came to Canada to take advantage of this wonderful nation. My beloved city of Toronto turned into a third world country. I'm now in Alberta where I work hard and pay my taxes. My Canada is a paradise on earth. My Canada deserves people who loves it. I had my hardship in my early years and that was what I had to go through. When new immigrants try to cut corners, I always remind them to earn their muthafuka turn. The liberal party screwed up Canada. Chances are one day I will end up leaving Canada for good but before that I'm keeping my Canada great.

As a Latino immigrant(Canadian Citizen)living in Canada for 23 years I found that many Indian business owners are very dishonest, many times paying very cheap wages and many times stealing money from their employees(stealing hours), I'm a truck driver and I've been ripped off by East Indian trucking companies that didn't pay me my money many times, they are also very unsafe, they don't fix their trucks, they break the traffic rules. Trucking used to be a highly pay job before the Indians started opening their trucking companies and lowering their prices now the whole trucking industry is garbage thanks to the Indians, the news say that there is a shortage of truck drivers ha ha ha is not true what happens is that truck drivers do not wanna work for Indians because they are very cheap and most are crooks at least in the trucking industry. Than God that I've been trucking for a long time so I know which companies are good and I work for a good Canadian company.

I’m an international student, from my perspective it seems like the government can’t keep themselves from messing with the economy, basically crippling it by regulations, making the market unable to take advantage of the increased labor supply.\n\nI have spent almost half a million in Canada, which includes tuition, living cost, and starting a business which now employs two Canadians. But because I spent one term as a part time student, I have became ineligible for PGWP, which means I have no way of staying in Canada through my own agencies.\n\nThat is a slap in the face for immigrants whove come here to settle, the fact that I have positively contributed to the Canadian economy than many Canadians ever have, while withdrawing absolutely zero from public benefits, now if I buy a house here yall will drop on me a 50%+ capital gains tax and then kick me out, why would anyone want to invest in Canada? I’m seriously considering just moving to Florida because of all these. \n\nWhat happened to the good old days when you can come here with nothing, integrate into the community, and then become Canadians? Almost none of the forefathers of Canadians had to contribute this much into the society first to become Canadians, they stayed because their peers wanted them to stay, and the market was free to adjust to the labor supply and housing demand without government interference.\n\nWhat I see is not an immigration problem, it’s a big government problem, Canadians have become addicted to the government making decisions for them. The government has its grip on every aspect of Canadian life, it has hindered the responsiveness of the economy so much, that it cant even pivot to take advantage of free capital (int’l students) and third world labor rates (temp foreign workers).

It’s great to see and hear two well informed Russian immigrants who clearly know what’s wrong with Canada than most of its complacent citizens and mostly all of its politicians. I watch many YouTube videos of westerners,mostly Americans,Canadians, Australians Brits who have emigrated to Russia many with their families. They all have good things to say about their experiences and don’t regret their move.\nWhich begs the question I must ask. Do you two ever regret leaving Russia in light of the frustrations you have seen here or encountered personally in terms of cost of living, crime,culture,government inefficiencies, not so subtle censorship to name just a few issues. \nIt would be nice to hear your thoughts on that subject.

As a current international student I can say I am happy for all this changes Canada is doing in the immigration system sadly it was taken advantage by too many indians and people from africa that came here with not the best intentions, I can confidently say if in my case is not possible to stay I will happily return to central america with good memories and good friendships and start working again. thats life

I appreciate your take. I believe Canada's key issue is that it is facing a cultural decay, which is not exclusive to Canada. Many countries in the west are challenged by similar things such as aging populations and unaffordability. \n\nIt works in a cycle: governments and corporations take turns screwing over the general population and most people cannot afford anything. Corporation does A then government does B; government does X then corporation does Y. On the surface, government is _trying_ to do a good thing, but it backfires quite often, leaving the average person feeling scorned. \n\nChief among these corrective measures was mass immigration, and because there was already a climate of indignation, the introduction of too-many-immigrants was a huge slap in the face. Instead of making sure Canadians were better taken care of, the government responded to the corporations--not the people. \n\nGDP numbers mean nothing to the average Canadian person if their quality of life is in decline. The only people still in favour of mass immigration are those who do not have to confront it on a day-to-day basis. Even Canadian-born (or even Canadian Citizens of 5+ years) minorities, think the immigration problem is too much.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. I came to Germany in 2008 to do my Bachelors and later did my masters and working for 10 years now. Got my citizenship 5 years ago. Lets say i have to travel a lot due to my work.. If i move out of Germany, it would be only because of insane tax . I expected even a colder or harsher condition but since my expectation was soo low, it was all good.. At my work place, the working language is only German. I knew that before so it was not a hard time when i was thinking from time to time regarding the difficulty.. \nOne thing and most important thing, Even after getting your citizenship in Germany you are not automatically a German. You are just a paper german ( Even though i dont hold other passport ). I knew this before and it was not hard for me but for many immigrants who become german citizens, they will still be seen as an Ausländer .. Thats the reality which will take another decade to change.

I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Parents come to Canada to provide free babysitting and cooking services to grandchildren . If they feel lonely it’s because they are not here to make friends but to stay at home . I one case , a grandparent fell ill in Canada and was sent back to India because of inadequate health insurance to take care of himself there on his own while the grandmother was not allowed to go and continued to babysit . These grandparents often are subjected to huge indignities. Lot of comments on how India is so good and Canada so bad . That is so ridiculous. I do not see people immigrating from Canada to India . I do not understand the tale about not getting fresh vegetables . Just step into Loblaws , Zehr , Metro and see what a lie it is . I agree many ethnic stores stock stale vegetables kept in unhealthy conditions . If food doesn’t taste good it’s became no one in the household , neither the grandparents nor the parents , can cook.
