This is exactly how ALL leaders around the world should be acting & treating Chump-Trump. Regardless of your thoughts on Trudeau, that was a very professional and reasonable speech. \nJust two months ago, Canada was sending firefighters, planes, and water to help with the LA fires... I will never understand why Trump chose to bully Canada after decades of them being our closest ally??!!? \n\nThis feels like a black mirror episode. ?

He sounds very manipulative. And like he's having a temper tantrum. He can miss me with trying to play on people's emotion and act like Canada cares for Americans. Canada doesn't even want this man. I certainly hope it doesn’t seem as though all Americans agree with what Trump is doing because many of us certainly do not. He doesn’t understand what the word diplomacy means unfortunately. With inflation rates rising, a trade war is one of the worst possible scenarios, and I agree with the Prime Minister. There are no winners here. Everyone gets hurt.

Let's not forget that the USA has only ever won one war on its own. The American Civil War! WW1 and 2 were a global allied effort, Korea a stalemate, beaten pants down in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan a shambles. Their recent treatment of President Zolenski was utterly shameful. Trump doesn't seem to understand that America will need all the friends that it can muster in the coming decade. The USA will be very alone in a war against China if they have isolated and belittled their strongest and best allies. I was assured by one Trump voter that the tariffs weren't real before he, against my advice, went and voted for Trump based on a Joe Rogan podcast. Yo, Canada, do what you have to do. I understand. Can someone please tell Trump Canada is our friend. They have given lives in our wars. They are going to find other customers for their oil while our auto industry will be trashed. They will find other countries to buy their lumber while the cost of building American homes soars. It will be easy for Canada, Mexico and China to come out ahead in this trade war. Trump’s understanding of economics and international trade is at the sixth grade level- and not a very bright sixth grader. Finally where is Trumps plan to protect American families and workers? Where is the national resolve to work together to get through this?

I As an American citizen can only hope that we would have a president in office with the intelligence, compassion and dignity that PM Trudeau has. At this time I am truly ashamed of my country. I have no idea what possessed Mr. Trump to decide to stab our allies in the back, but it was not something good. 27.5% of voting age adults voted for him. How many of them were serenaded by hollow promises and a good slogan. Perhaps all of the mud slinging and Russian media interference helped? If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.
