In a war between Canada and the United States I would fight for Canada, and I think the majority of Americans would too. What is happening is complete lunacy. I don’t know what to do.

As an American I think I’m right to say most of us are on Canadas side. Glad to finally see a great leader like Trudeau call Trump “dumb “!

Remember, it's not just Canada that is responding to Trump. Mexico and China are also responding simultaneously to Trump's idiotic tariffs. Mexico, Canada, and China are America's biggest suppliers of materials crucial to the American economy and are huge markets for American goods. If Trump thinks he can fight all of these countries at once and not have America receive grievous damage, then he is more deluded than we thought.

As much as I hate the idea of Americans suffering at the hands of Trump, I think PM Trudeau should cut Niagara power to the American side! Trump wants to play games, then Canada should stop the flow of everything coming into the U.S. just to show DJT how tariffs really work!

As a European, it's a pitty I'm not in America anymore. I'm very curious what the American citizens think about this. This will have a negative effect on the entire world. So let's punish people in a country that has been destroyed even more to force them into a deal with Russia ?? that would require Ukraine to give up territory absolutely not! Ukraine must remain in tact and return to its former glory ?? the United States of America ?? can no longer be trusted especially if they attacked their closest allies and insulted us continually did WW1 and WW2 mean absolutely nothing to the U.S.?? when Iran ?? took American hostages Canadians ?? worked tirelessly to devise a plan to get them back to the U.S. and succeeded in doing Just that the Canadians brought back the Americans safely. When 9/11 happened and Canada ?? took on thousands of passengers in Gander Newfoundland Canada ?? we opened our airspace and landed each and every one of them safely then when Americans couldn't get their medication, Gander gave it to them free of charge when Americans went shopping for clothes the stores gave it to them free of charge everything they needed was provided free of charge they were fed housed offered compassion and opened their homes so Americans could shower and clean up. So Canadians has always been there for the U.S.?? and this is how Canada ?? is repaid for its sacrifices made during both wars and other historical events that involved both countries ????? Canadian here. Wake up Canadians. Many people are praising Trudeau for this speech. Don't. He is out as Liberal leader within the week. He doesn't have to follow through on anything he said. Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada. Forget about the last 9 years and vote Liberal if you are a fool.

Maga people think Trump is their friend. Canada and the US have been friends for 150 years as long as he thinks people have been collecting social security. Canada has had tariffs on American products for over 10 years, but the United States has no tariffs on Canada until today. Canada should think about that.

Trump supports a dictator who lets children and babies die and wants to wipe out an entire country. He is opposing all of his allies for Putin. Putin will get money again. I know I will get attacked in the comments for this, but I grew up in the US watched many presidents come and go, and I have never seen the country that I live in turn so corrupt and evil in my life we have been lied to by our president. A man I did not vote for and it almost feels like it is turning into a fascist regime. As an American, I respect Canada as a friend and neighbor. I stand with Canada and not the crybaby in the white house. Trump and his administration needs to be removed from office immediately. Trump voters are about to be in the find out phase.... Do you think they will storm the White House again? Something has to change... How can no one stand up to Trump...

I’m not a fan of Trudeau but he speaks in a calm rational manner. He is polite but firm. I’m an American and although I agree with some of Trumps ideas, being rude and not thinking things through before acting, is inexcusable. We have enemies all over the world and now we have even turned our friends against us. The drug problem is an American problem, not Canada or Mexico. We can’t keep guns from entering Mexico, arming the cartels, how can we expect the Mexican government to keep drugs out of America?
