Why some Canadian citizen threatening Indian politicians and want a separate land from India why? ? They act like terrorist and Canadian government protect them in the name of free speech?

When I first visited Amsterdam and walked around my hotel looking for a coffee in 2016, 15 min later, I came back to my hotel giving coffee to my wife and told, watch something bad is going to happen here soon, extremists are trying recruit people of color. Since I was new to the place, I came across 3 people asking me if I am a muslim. I politely said no. This incident was good enough for me to guess, but I did not tell anyone except my wife because no one will believe me including my wife. Two years later, Amsterdam terrorists attack happened. Many of my observations in several other places/countries came true. It looked like, Einstein once said, I do not know what weapons we use in the third world war, But I can guess certainly for the 4th, Sticks and Stones. \n\nNo country should harbor extremists a safe haven, esply. on religious grounds. Justin's support to Khalistani extremists will bring a lot of misery to Canadians, just watch. I am 100% liberal, not by definition but by common sense. Helping people is my nature, but my help is to stand on their feet not burden to anybody. So, elect good politicians not on party basis but by character.

Canadian politicians are making the situation like these. \nPolitical Correctness is against national security.

As an indian living in Dubai. If I feel a place was overcrowded- I would leave, but for some indians its not the same and its quite sad some politicians thinking a densely populated city full of jobless people is okay. Its kind of the opposite reason why indians move to canada(because most of us dont like overecrowded cities-which tends to happen in india). The amoumt of jobs need to increase. The infrastructure needs to increase. Colleges and schools where people actually pay for all of it is necessary. And homelessness needs to be replace by education and housing policies for older canadians especially. Preserving the respect for the elderly. The list goes on- and yes it will increase the amount of jobs, if they build and educate. Also increase the incentive to be educated.

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. I love the fact that you spoke some harsh truths here sir, much respect to you and your family sir. I hope you can continue making such informative videos for people to learn from. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. There is one other reason that hatred towards member of your country is going up and it is simply because our hatred for our own government is so high right now and we are all only human. Some of us lash out at people that do not deserve it when we are really upset. That doesn’t make it ok. But I know that the fact that we Canadians hate our government more than ever right now, is due to the simple fact that our own government is not listening to our issues and what we want done with our country. Then that same government will labels us as right wing extremists simply for the fact that we no longer support our current government for example. Canadians are more angry now than they have ever been. The RCMP have been advised about this across the whole of Canada, so you know it is a real issue. I can control myself and will never snap at others due to how frustrated I am, so I would like to apologize to those of you that may have a bad experience with another frustrated Canadian. This is really not our normal behaviour. We’re are all stressed out and being called the bad guys by our own government just exacerbates the whole issue. Again, cheers to you all!!!

Sadly the Canadian governments are running the country (my country) like the telecom monopoly in Canada, where the new comers get the better deals. This is my birthplace, my land, not the governments, yet they abuse and neglect the very citizens that built this beautiful land. We are overtaxed, and housing is unaffordable for the next generation of children. We need tougher laws to deal with out of control politicians, we need to remind them they are servants of the people. Love MY country

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

Also those looking to donate should give items of use not cash to those on the streets. \n\nThere is a homeless working class set of people out there living in shelters who were there before the flooding of migration. \n\nThere is also a working class that live out of their vehicles (cars trucks and vans), trailers, and RVs like us. We have exactly the same problem here in the UK. Politicians talk tough on immigration but when they get in power and see the books, they open the borders.\n\nWhat do i mean by the books. Im talking of slowing down population growth which is unable to support paying pensions to old geezers...they have a change of heart. \n\nNobody likes immigration till when they are told that the pension purse dad and mom paid into when they were younger, is now no longer able to pay them after retirement. This is why politicians change direction when tbey finally get in power. Like Trudeau so will it be with Pierre. Like Rishi Sunak, so will it be with Keir Starmer. Like Joe Biden so will it be with a Trump. \n\nFor me i dont care who comes in. I just care that they work hard, be good neighbours, dont cause problems to those that they met here...and work hard to pay me my pension when i get old cos i paid into the purse thats supporting the old geezers now.\n\nIm British. The politicians from Canada and India don't care if everyone lives in poverty. And getting Canadian citizenship will not solve all your families' problems. Once Canada goes broke there will be no welfare, EI, pensions, free housing, or healthcare so you're better off staying in India where at least you know the language, laws, religion and culture. The politicians would bring in another 5 million foreigners from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, China etc, if they could. But Canada doesn't have enough affordable housing for people born in Canada let alone from other countries. The Canadian politicians want voter banks, corporations want cheap foreign labour, and the WEF want Agenda 2030. The Prime Minister of Canada and India are to blame for this mess. Both Prime Ministers are not doing what's right to take care of their citizens. No point coming to Canada or other any Western countries when you can't speak and read in English, either.\nBy the way, you're better off training to be a plumber, a mechanic, a nurse etc than getting a liberal arts degree. If you're an international student and you can't afford to rent for example in Vancouver and Toronto than don't come here. It's no secret some international students turn to prostitution, sell drugs and go to food banks in order to survive. Don't come to Canada assuming study permits automatically means you will get Canadian citizenship.

Present Canadian govt is dependent on DNP of Jagmeet Singh (Khalistani supporter). He can make Trudeau dance to his tune. Canadians of Indian origin mostly from Punjab are Khalistani sympathizers and they have fomented enough trouble locally in Canada and are primarily responsible for the poor relations between India and Canada. \n\nSecondly Indian emigration is of highly skilled work force consisting of doctors, scientists, financial experts, bankers, professors, businessman, politicians, and logistics business experts etc. They contribute to the treasury by paying the highest taxes than any other immigrant including european settlers. By and large Indians are peace loving people and excel in their fields. Now Indian origin people are into politics and Canada has a few MPs of Indian origin serving as ministers of defense, foreign affairs etc. \n\nThis xenophobia has to stop. Every wave of immigrants to the new continents have faced these problems be it Irish, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or East European immigrants. The process of assimilation takes a long time and in the meantime there would be some hiccups to which the society will eventually adapt. Every new immigrant group faces hostility from the earlier settled immigrants. It's much harder if the new immigrants don't look like the earlier settled immigrants. This is natural !!!.

Remember when the news depicted yellow vest protests in canada as far right, extreme, radical. Some liberal politicians refer to them as being nazi. It was led by immigrants that wanted a halt to the open borders programs. The media instead showed small groups of white people and said it was a racist group.\n\nThey wanted a halt to open borders. Investments in proper senior care, homeless issues addressed, suicide prevention made a priority. In response there were canadians that used bricks on seniors. Attempted murder because the media told them it was nazi movement. The one led by immigrants that actually gave a shit. This was back in 2018 and now look where you are.\n\nThis is what you get for adopting communism. They are running an open borders genocide protocol right now. Take it from a native. I have experienced this where they depict my people as red skins, gas sniffers, drug addicts, unable to govern ourselves. Meanwhile the invasion continues. There was an incident were a cricket match was going to be shown in the mega plex put they did not show it something happened that was not mega plexes fault that it was not being shown there was a group of Indian students who started screaming at the ticket counter. It’s because of behaviour like this Canadians are hating international students from India .?. The 2022 -2023 batch on international students are a disgrace not saying g all of them are bad just most dont come to study just a back door into the country they see one of there family members went to Canada and they should to ?‍♀️. There was a polling conducted and most Canadians want less immigration from India . Canada is not as big like America . Having so ma y people come in just puts a strain on housing, who would think that people from a hot country would want to go to a cold country…. Just go to a wormer country . Many Indians aren’t even thinking about coming to Canada anymore look for other countries. Or better yet stay in India ??. If you have money you can live a really good life in India . Taxes , are high , homes are crazy expensive , car insurance is high , people’s are getting there cars stolen don’t see the benefit really coming to Canada . And most Indians already own there own house in India so way come to Canada and in India you pay very small taxes as well .?‍♂️ and at the end of the day white people are so racist towards Indians know they look at you like you are the reason there life is messed up ? make India. I came to Canada in 2016 worked in IT until I had enough money saved up moved back to India and bought land and built a house just started buying more land and when I had enough moved back to India . Us Indians can be successful anywhere so way not be successful in our country. Indians please stop playing your stereo so loud on the road with your Indian music. You can play it low, yeah? They are voters for Trudeau. They think that the Liberals are good to immigrants. May they vote wisely and study Canadian politics what policies that made this country great. But if they would all vote for crook politicians like Trudeau, then that is not good for the whole Canada if the Liberals could buy their votes.

Born in Canada .. and like many Canadians I saw Canada go from bad to a disaster with no future in 3 short years. Unless Canadians awaken and stop being so apathetic .. this country will have it's worst decade with many jumping ship. Poverty and crime will just get worse. Just dumb politicians and selfish apathetic citizens to blame.

Turdeau and Jughead need to be removed and placed in prison for treason against the Canadian People. Do we now, all agree, that we need a recall procedure to remove politicians that get carried away like this. We also need an elected Senate where we can hold senators accountable for backing up tyrants like this.

The outlook is not bad. The problem is that the solution will NOT come from the hands of politicians, not even those who today use discontent to win votes. I bet ten years' salary that people like Poilievre will only do, as conservative governments do, cutting budgets immigrants´ aids , BUT HE WILL NOT GIVE UP CONTINUING TO ALLOW AND PROMOTE the indiscriminate arrival of these immigrants. Immigration is the big business that Canadian politicians and big businessmen have learned to exploit for their own benefit.

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

But Canadians keep voting for the same politicians who have allowed this to happen so I guess they like their country turning third world economically and demographically.

There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. You can hear people say that the government isn't processing enough people, for example, but not often that there are too many or that it costs a lot of money. The trend of migration from Canada to the US would only increase much more in the future as it is going currently, and its role as a stepping stone to migration to the US could increase. The way this would be seen by many in Canada is that they are losing valuable people to the USA whom they consider assets, since a lot of officials have been trying to bring in more people into the country, but not everyone wants to stay in Canada nowadays because of a lack of jobs and opportunities. Canada is quite laissez-faire about migration, with Toronto being a sanctuary city as well.

It's not even just in Brampton even 1 to 2 hours away immigrant and international students take all customer service jobs to the point that Canadians can barely get hired into these roles because we have expectations and rights that we worked for and I've seen these immigrants willing to work for less than legal minimum wage and they do not stand up for themselves or work towards having any shared rights. In addition many politicians on both sides of the aisle are rental landlords so only stand to profit from low rental vacancies and cramming as many people into a small space as possible. They've also cut funding to a lot of post-secondary institutions who rely on inflating tuition cost for international students. At my current role on a team of 15 people plus one manager there are only three white people, born and raised Canadians. The rest are all Indians including the manager and will frequently talk amongst themselves loudly in Punjabi while we're trying to serve customers in the English language. That's actually against policy but Canadians are so outnumbered by immigrants and specifically Indians in this place that it never gets enforced properly. I've never been anti-immigration but it's gotten so bad in Canada especially in places like Ontario that I'm now against it and will tell anyone regardless of their skin color to avoid immigrating here. I've been on a wait list for a doctor for over 11 years, I know people who have died from cancer due to delayed referrals due to long wait list for additional screening, it's insane and absolutely ridiculous especially considering the amount of taxes I currently pay and have paid my entire life as a born and raised Canadian.\n\nAlso it's absolutely true every single one is either taking or has taken post-secondary studies in business admin or management. We don't need more people in these fields we need Healthcare sector workers and not a single one that I've spoken with which again is quite a few studied anything related to medicine Healthcare nursing... not one.

This gov't can't do anything right. That's because they have a different agenda about immigration than what it's supposed to be. Initially, the Canadian gov't would take in a certain amount of immigrants per year based on the needs of the country. All immigrants were vetted from those that applied through the proper channels i.e. LEGALLY. Canada needed certain types of workers to fill a need in a certain industry, it would prioritize those newcomers with those skills and education. But now, it's a free for all and it has nothing to do with industry nor economic needs. It's instead all about the numbers of voters that are likely to keep the Liberals in power. That's it in a nutshell. It's all about power and control. Same thing with catering to special interest groups. The gov't cares nothing about hard working middle-class taxpayers. And if this creates divisions among Canadians, too bad as long as it fills their purpose of staying in power forever. And they do it by lying and using political correctness and punishment for speaking up as a threat. Canadians are now accused of 'racism', 'Islamophobia' and 'xenophobia' if they even question the issue of immigration. It's all a political game meant to keep the politicians in control, well fed and wanting for nothing while the hard working Canadian is stressed to the max trying to make ends meet.

As a 3rd generation Canadian it is so hard to have confidence in my nations future. The politicians don’t care, and the country is rotting from the inside out. We have no future here, majority of my university educated peers have already moved to the US for better pay and career advancement, and business owners like myself have moved or are planning to move away from Canada. It’s a shame to see our country fall but we need to look out for our own lives and are no longer patriotic for this nation

I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

It's sad that so many Canadians have to move from their hometowns/provinces in droves to financially survive and get ahead a little. Unfortunately, the droves of people fleeing Ontario and BC are driving up prices now (to buy/rent) in other parts of Canada like Alberta and Atlantic Canada where this is having a trickle effect creating Albertans, Nova Scotians, etc. to be homeless and strains on their provincial healthcare systems. It's a sad state of affairs, and I do not think a politician can fix this, unless they start demanding more and curtailing the power of corporations. A big rebalance needs to occur, but it seems unlikely when politicians and business leaders are on the same side (aka corruption / conflict of their own interests). Canada needs a division between government and business which is the case in many Scandinavian countries.

Canada is the corporate playground so many American politicians wish they had.\n\nDespite their scary reputation as a hotbed of socialism because of a mid single payer healthcare system, Canadians have been under the boot of corporations - first British, then American - since their founding. To be honest, The Hudson's Bay Company and CP Rail are essential to Canada's history. The True North has always been strong (I LOVE Canadians and their culture), but they could be a lot more free.\n\nCanadians deserve better. Like Americans, they deserve a non-corporate government. But as long as there is the danger that people in the US can look across the border and see happy white people with real opportunities it will never happen. The real question is Canada vs Florida because the U.S. consists of many mini countries that have agreed on a common constitutional document and basic laws but otherwise are different countries. With that said Canada loses on every metric that matters to Florida. From economics to taxes to business to self defense and personal property Florida wins. The U.S. is secular but politicians of all nations will bring it up to some degree thinking this is somehow unique to the U.S. means you don’t understand the U.S. When it comes to political and religious diversity the U.S. has a larger population consisting of the entire world its by definition diverse. Canada doesn’t have sensible gun laws it just leaves those who can’t defend themselves at great risk.\n\nCrime is high in cities that have laws & culture closer to Canada than they do the U.S. Which have the strictest gun laws in the country. It’s bad politics & culture which are most similar to Canada that has resulted in higher crime rates. \n\nGun laws in the U.S. are for Americans to have the option to fight against a tyrannical government like we have scene in Canada with the truckers and mass freezing of bank accounts. That is what the right to bear arms was for first and foremost not just self defense. Canada ignores this entirely and instead has the perspective of give the government all the power and expect government to be “good” and act in good faith to the people which it has continually failed to do so. Canada has to bribe Quebec just to keep its country together something that has been an issue since the founding of Canada is parts of it breaking off due to tyrannical federal government power abuse.\n\nFreedom comes with risks but it’s always better to be free.\n\nPeople who leave the U.S. for Canada are doing so for political reasons otherwise they can leave their blue progressive crime filled cities for free cheap safe red states.\n\nI encourage all Canadians to search moving from Canada to Florida and you will find many Canadians that realized the American Dream. Can you ask each international student or immigrant you see on the street how much they paid the canadian government to come there? I'd probs say $30k/person (forms, medical or probs tuition). Canadian government is collecting $30k/per immigrant basically + cheap part-time labour but seems like it doesn't benefit the canadians. Only politicians getting richer. You should point your lens at the corrupt government that keeps allowing this to collect $$$ despite all negative points you brought up in the video.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

In my youth the right was largely the unreasonable voice; strong conservative policies derived in part by religious values that didn’t mesh with more progressive mainstream views. There was also a small but perceivable undertone of anti-imigration and racist sentiment in Canada's rural areas. Now the pendulum has swung far to the left. Now the extremists are on the left, killing free speech, mandating bodily harm, and cramming a nonsensical woke ideology down our throats. The voice of reason is now right of center. If I had to compare the two I would say that the current left ideology has been far more damaging. I hope that the next election will be the start of a new Canadian renaissance and that the pendulum doesn't swing too far to the right. No single politician has done more to destroy Canadian pride, economics, and world standing than Justin Trudeau.
