I totally agree that this country will break your spine and test your ultimate willpower. Me and my wife came here 5 years back and we decided that we will shut ourselves like a tortoise. Forget about savings and forget about everything else. Only and only one goal we had in mind is that we will live in the basement and earn top dollars. Just to give you a perspective. My first pay was 19 dollar per hour and my current pay is 87 per hour. My wife started with 16.5 per hour and now earning 69 per hour. Even though our income grew substantially, we never raised our expenses. Answer to all problems in Canada is income. Now after 5 years we bought house worth of 1.4 M. We moved out of basement and felt immense pride. We paid 37% down payment and 3 banks approved our mortgages in a heartbeat. No debt at all. We paid up our car in full. Just a regular new suv nothing fancy. \nEveryone is different, we all are unique and I believe you took a right decision. Each and every word you said in the video is true. \nWe cried , we fought , we felt that our life is ruined but we both thought that ek bar to Canada ko harana hai. Itni income generate karenge ki sala CRA shock ho jaye progress dekh ke. We literally cried when we saw our YTD on Dec 31,2023. We crossed 300k and lately to be honest we got a kick in living in basement. People around us thought of us as a regular poor couple but from inside we knew that we are earning in top 3% of Canadian population. \nI would highly recommend that understand the job market of Canada. Work on your soft skills. Power on the language is MUST. It is even more important than your technical knowledge. Make meaningful connections. Stay away from negative people. We all like to push this narrative about how wonderful multiculturism is, but is it actually a good thing, or are we simply saying this cos we want to sound very open minded and inclusive? \n\nCountries need to retain their own identity. So if we want to move abroad, we should be willing to integrate in to their society (even if we do have some different beliefs from them in other ways). Moving to another country, not integrating and just hanging out with people from your own country isn't really good for anyone. We just create divides within that society and thus become more detached and distant from one another. \n\nAlso, living in high rise buildings seems quite dehumanizing to me. Sure, it must be cool to have a good view, but that's not how humans should live and exist- stacking thousands of people on top of one another.

These people are jealous of the work that we did over the years. My household worked 29-39 years building into this system so yes they deserve the right to own a home worth a quarter of a million. That's how the home appreciated over the years because we did good work.\nAnd yes our children deserve those homes not an immigrant that never put in the work.\nThe sacrifices are different.\nGo and invest in a shipping container homes because the Toronto homes are not meant for many immigrants.

I am born in Canada and i lived in Montreal's suburb(South Shore like we say here) all my life and i love it but i would never live in big major cities because of increases of crimes, high prices of houses/condo, traffic jam, pollution. \nMy girlfriend from Beijing came here last september for 2 months and she really loved it. She enjoyed the freedom, the many different foods from other countries in restaurants, our culture , the people kindness, beautiful nature and easy living.\nYes we have too free medical health care here in Quebec's province(Sun card ) and i have an excellent medical plan with my employer so i can have acess to private clinics free of charges when it's too long in public hospitals.\nI hate snow and cold long winters since the age of 18 when i had to go out for work or school and i dont like our corrupt goverment but we can vote for a less worst one every 4 years. ?

I’m trying hard to understand. I thought when someone goes to a different country to live they accept what that country is about. I’m sad to hear these people say they’re leaving because Canada has some elements that are offensive to them. I though Islam was about acceptance.

This is a free country so it's good people are making decisions based on their personal circumstances to move in or out of any particular city. Obviously people need to understand the differences between major cities and smaller cities or towns. Don't be surprised to find prices everywhere have gone up relative to the pandemic.

The quality of life here was just that much different and they had acclimatised to it, so I can’t imagine where you’re thinking that you can go in the world where the quality of life for a Muslim family who has grown up in Canada will be better.\nOnly one of your four criteria will be satisfied. I have hears bc is hard ro makw friends i lived here my entire life and i dont see it ? Maybe if youre an introvert its harder? My only issue is many of my friends move away or they are here temporarily. I rotate between circles but i also enjoy new people so i dont stick to the same 4 friends. Word of caution, in regards to climate , too hot is worse than too cold.....if you end up somewhere without air-conditioning , it is going to be much worse then having access to heating in winter.....been there , so I know :) Another comment, try to separate religion from politics,. If you were born in Canada, you might not be fully aware of the difference between democratic and non-democratic societies. Religion only is not enough to make you happy, and having two girls and willing to risk their rights, require at least a conversation with someone that knows more about it. I have my own experiences and it seems to me that you idealize societies in which these rights are non-existent . You are right, Canada has become a very different country than it was when I first got here, but is still far cry from where you are planning to go. Beware of things that people are not saying , and have your due diligence done for the sake of your children.

I am living in GTA since 1993. Initially I had been a factory first 11 years. Ever since i did not get job based on my skills, it was far big difference.\nLater in 2001 i started to work in IT Industry, after this10 years this industry started to decline.\nCurrently i do still find a job, but that is like a contingent worker and now i work 6 months in a year. My kids have grown up, and other than a miracle, there is nothing of a skill that can you depend upon.\nMoreover Canada has failed sense a difference between faithful citizenship and rogue communities. Singapore is a much more congested place. Real estate prices are on the higher end.\nCanada is a very cold place but in certain states, Canada gives free land to settle immigrants. Plus, as you stay in close proximity of the US with similar timezones. So you can find jobs in American companies. Singapore is from a different timezone and there is very little overlap between California PST and Singapore SGT. \nAs the global warming takes effect, Singapore will sink, while Canada becomes warmer, more natural resources are unlocked in Canada. Not to mention, Singapore is sorrounded by Islamic nations, and there is high probability of terrorism happening in near future as radicalization increases in that region. War is already happening in Burma between Junta and ARSA. And when civil war happens, so happens the in-flux of illegal arms and ammunition. Canada is far far away from these warzones.\nMost people should prefer Canada over Singapore, unless you have any specific ties to South East Asia, like you love the Asian food or you need to stay in close proximity of your family and friends.

Some times i watch videos on differents experiences others migrants experiencing here Canada and we re on same boat. That s why i also made choice to move out in Colombia on the beach for my retirement.Then im here giving some advise. As immigrant myself, African from Gabon, we experiencing same realities of the West since 10 years now. At some point, i can say there s something broken in this country since last 6-8 years. As you making decision to leave Canada on the reasons you expressed, it is very important for you not be wrong chosing the wrong place again. You need to think about it seriously. Straight, can tell you 100% United states is worse than Canada as Muslim family to live in. You need to read all suggestions given in this Video. As a lot people suggested you in the comments, i totally agree with em that Malaysia, is the Top one based of the reasons you explained why you leaving Canada. Maybe Turkey and UAE as second choice. Most countries have been shaped by a religious foundation. Muslims don't really fit in Christian countries; Christians are too polite (usually) to say anything, but you are very different. There is nothing wrong with finding like-minded people to move toward your own happiness. Good luck to you!

I lived in Toronto for more than a decade and def thought it was a wonderful place esp through the 2000's and early 2010's. I noticed a huge downturn around 2013-2014. It was getting harder and harder for normal folks to get by even back then, and that people were becoming very frustrated. I ended up leaving in 2017 in order to have a higher quality of life elsewhere - tbh when I left I thought I was just getting old, and I wasn't cool anymore, but I moved to a different larger city and went back to having a great time, and the folks around me were happier. I can't say I'm surprised that it's gotten worse since.

I m an Indian Christian, born and raised in Malaysia. My homeland. We are a nation of different cultures. Malay, Chinese and Indian. These are the 3 Major race but we are called Muslim country. We live in peace and harmony. Everyone has their rights to believe in their faith and live peacefully together here. Inflation is bad here too but still affordable. For expats, If you want to migrate to Malaysia, make sure you get high wages in USD and a company that will renew ur contract. You can't be citizen but you can apply for PR.. but the process is not that easy. Some of my friends who are expats still live here after 15 years without a PR. Our country is small so it's not easy to get it. Your children can get into International schools or home schools WITH UK IGCSE SYLABUS TOO... its just pricy a little. Other than that, Malaysia is a beautiful Tropical country with beautiful and friendly people to live with. Malaysia truly Asia. ❤

Hope you get your home in an Islamic country in the middle east. I really do not like the mixing of different cultures and more when Islamic people are so fundamentalist in their belief and lack tolerance to other people freedom. Rest assured, nobody from a normal place would ever move there; from the middle of Africa, I don't know... I do believe that not even Latin Americans are attracted due to different weather habits... All in all people deserve what they vote for; it's their will, isn't it?

This is my 13th year in Canada, I am so sad to see the change, I really hope it will become a better country again with Trudeau stepping down. But we also have to be fair that there are not many countries become better since COVID. Many of you leaving or planning to leave Canada are more like rich country retirees taking advantage of the wage and currency differences between rich and poor countries. So let’s put it this way, if many of you have not worked your whole life here in Canada, will you still have a quality of life in your home countries, such as Southeast Asia or South America? I doubt majority of the population there is make a good money and having great work life balance, and everyone there could afford a decent retirement life. what is more close to nowadays reality is people coming here and hoping they could have a better paid job and settle down here, but most of them found out they are struggling to even maintain their normal life in this country, so they left. For those who came years ago, they made a saving which may not be enough to support a good retirement life here, but is more than enough in other countries, they also choose to flee. Then those successful immigrants will stay here with the option to travel anywhere they want. My son's classmate's grandfather immigrated to Canada long time ago who later become a well known cardiologist and was rewarded as one of the top 25 immigrants Award, all three daughters are now specialists too. I really hope Canada could rise again!

I appreciate the way you present the reality. One way to cope with salaries and taxes is to open you own enterprise. This is the canadian way of growing fron a wealth point of view. As a person leaving from a salary, it is still possible to grow depending on your skills. But beggining your own business to exploit your skills will make you 'fly' to the next level, which is the actual way of growing. It took me a lot of years to realice this. Just think about it, provinces allow medecins to incorporate what means that they will pay less taxes and become richer sooner. This is just my thought, other people may think in a different way, I just try to give positive ideas.\n\nSecondly, Canada is still a country to live in a bit better than other countries considering many things happening around the world. Crime and economics is worst everywhere also. But, it all depends on what criteria counts for you. About society, it's not easy to make real friends except other inmigrants that need it too. It's obvious that you have never lived outside of Canada. Canada is probably one of the last countries in the world that accepts people for who they are and has a decent level of respect for belief systems. I get that you want to raise your children in a better environment, but trust me when I tell you this... you are walking into a world of disappointment. Canada itself is about 15 years behind other countries when it comes to this downwards spiral you are speaking of. Sadly, you will find out soon enough that this utopia you want to find, simply doesn't exist and you will discover you have left the variable comforts and safety of Canada behind. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but am simply sharing what I discovered when I searched for the same things. I think L. Frank Baum said it best.... if I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. If you are lucky in life you will discover that the world doesn't stop turning for you, and that the world that you dream of for your children must be created from within. That being said, it is good to travel and trying different ways of living is a wonderful education for your children. I like what she says about her grandchildren, in future years, may have to leave wherever they go now… alluding to the possibility (I believe) that perhaps there is no permanently perfect place… I can understand how they would appreciate living somewhere where the daily prayers are announced 5 times daily over loudspeaker. I often feel so very isolated in myself in MY way of life here in Canada (which doesn’t happen to be as a Muslim). After all, we are the “cultural melting pot,” and so many people of different cultures have come here and tried to make a life work for them. Canada is seen as “a land of dreams” by many, but it depends on what our dreams are, for real. For instance, what were many immigrants hoping for when they fled Europe after World War II? This family is telling us what they dream for their family, and Canada is not a good fit for what they value.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.

I once got lost in a car in mea shear i’m (a very very ultra orthodox area) in Israel…people screaming and blocking my way…not so different, sadly. All fundamentalists are all horrific. (I am Jewish)

I mean the authorities were doing what they had to per law - law is secular so doesn’t take into account religion. University could’ve been more understanding before calling in authorities…people need to be more aware of cut differences….

But if you don’t it’s hard. I find it so weird when they ask for Canadian experience when you just came to Canada I blame the employer they make it difficult for people to get hired and in return people leave to find a job in a different country I did the same thing came to Canada to look for work working in IT and I didn’t get IT job because I did t have any Canadian experience. After two years of working at a job that was not even what I studied I left Canada and found a job that I studied for I got a good job in America Long island New York and never looked back……. I get paid double then I would have if I had gotten a job in Canada any way ….. forget Canadian experience it’s not worth moving to Canada the country has changed. You pay more for everything in the states you get things for a lot less . Car insurance in Canada is so expensive……… do t get me started on the winter ?

The weather and no possibility to make new friends made me leave Canada back in 1986. And believe me, there was already a lot of povery in Toronto, people were not living on the streets, that was the only difference. Criminality was very low and cost of living was much better than nowadays.

Been dying to leave this place for 15 years now.. but unlike Canada, it's quite hard to actually get a work permit and stay in the countries I've attempted to live in.. meanwhile I've watched as people just flock to Canada on student visas and end up staying here. I'm not 'anti immigration' but it definitely needs to be a two way street between countries.. If I could get a work visa to a few different places, mainly Japan, I'd pack up and leave tomorrow.. Canada just isn't it for me and hasn't been for a long time..
