It is understandable why US import illegal immigrants back to their country. But all immigrants are not criminals and they trying escape poverty and other local issues. They should be treated with dignity. Trump is crazy he is going to tax more from US citizens for something Columbians did , it may not work at all.

No relationship anymore. Ban ALL imports for 6months. Then we will see who thrives on the American dollar. Americans or nonamericans?

Colombia ranks top 5 in everything important in life. Try doing research

So Trump wants to deport illegal migrants from America import illegal Jewish settlers into occupied Palestinian land and deport Palestinians from Gaza from their land to somebody else’s does not anybody see the hypocrisy

These people have no idea how supply and demand works. The companies importing those food products will simply buy them from Ecuador or another nation in Central or Sputh America.

Looks like AMERICA WILL FINAL SEE THE PRICE OF TARIFFS \nYOUR COFFEE IS GOING COST X8 A CUP..YOU DRUGS WILL GO THOUGH THE ROOF ,SO ENJOY\nTHE FOOD YOU IMPORT YOU CAN NOW FORGET IT ,NEVER MIND YOU STILL CAN EAT YOUR EGGS \n\nOR DID YOU FORGET THEIR EXPENSIVE

American consumers pay the tariffs. The companies pay the import tax and then pass the cost to the consumer. Why do people try to manipulate and tell folks something different.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Bottom line is that American consumers will pay for this action. The smart thing would be to establish a protocol for these flights returning. The country receives notification with names, stats and photos. \nIts represent a diplomatic solution so both the United States and Columbia can process. Now the returned planes with those illegals land back here a nd we will house and feed them for months at tax payer expense!!!!! Plus now a conference of all Latin American will probably refuse any flights to a diplomatic solution occurs!!!! If extremes continue we could endanger our businessman conducting business in these countries!!! Stupid as stupid does!!!!! Plus in most cases the product with tariff is being produced with an American partner!!!! The banana production companies are american owned or have a large vested investment!!!! So there profits will fall and they are traded on the NYSE affecting investors here state side!!!! Rise the prices here on our imported fruit and coffee. !!!! Stupid. Stupidity

Make an example for countries refusing their own people by blocking every aspect of Columbian import export.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
According to the NYT and Washington Post, Trump's punishment is much more drastic than this CNN video protrays due to the nature of Colombian economy and exports. Colombia is gonna get crushed if this continues. \n\nColombia is nuts for taking on Trump, what did they think Trump was gonna do to them? Flowers and food can be easily imported from other countries. And Trump loves to make an example out of people.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
consumers have choices...as well as the importers , supermarkets etc they just wont buy any Columbian products and Columbia will lose out. The Government of Columbia knows this would have happened and that's why they have already folded.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Yes, people need to talk about the fact that Trump is not allowing anymore visas into the country at all. That's gonna be seen as extremely racist and clearly an attempt at not having anymore South Americans in the country with the exception of those here and they have families elsewhere and that will force them to leave. No more workers, no more imports for cheap ever again. It's only for the rich and most of his supporters are clearly not rich. Horrible choice this country has made and fatal mistake that will cost Americans more money. That's called Karma indeed.

More higher prices for US consumers. They and US importers are going to be filling up the US treasury pretty quickly as Trump keeps imposing more and more tariffs. While his clueless supporters keep believing his idiotic lie that foreign companies pay this tariff tax. Of course while the average consumer keeps paying up, there's more money for Trump to cut taxes for his rich friends, himself included.

I guess the Orange Clown has to import coffee and bananas from China now...!!! ?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
We import 73% of the oil we use from Canada, Mexico and Columbia. A 25% tariff on those imports will affect the price of gasoline.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
The comment section here thinks this isn’t important. You people need to leave this country. Columbia, didn’t want their own citizens? What kind of shit is that?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
I would suggest stocking up on coffee, but I suspect there'll be more important things to stock up on in coming months.

cocaine is the biggest import for a long time
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
What is that suppost to do to Columbia? What do they import to America!
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Let's put tariffs on everything imported! After all, it is China who pays them right...????
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
k wtf do we import from Colombia...COCAINE?....its already expensive...unless he's talking about maracas.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
I think you mean, Trump hits American companies who import goods from Columbia with tariffs so they can pass those costs down to American consumers. REPORT THE NEWS CORRECTLY or don't report it at all, ffs. Smh
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
A trade war? CNN is high. Columbia doesn't import enough product, nor exports enough product to effect anything. \n\nFools, still pumping out fake news.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
We import items we need more than they need to export. ?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
For these slow people, let me explain how this works: tariffs work as a tax on poor people. First time in the White House, Trump put a 25% tariff on China goods. Dollar Tree, which imports from china usually to sell everything for a dollar had to pay 25 cents on a dollar in taxes to collect the goods from the ports. So it passed that tax to the prices. So went from everything $1 to everything $1.25. a 25% percent inflation. Then China stopped buying soybeans from USA. Farmers went broke and Trump have to give them 29 billion in handouts so they won’t go broke. Genius?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Ohh No ... Guess we would just have to stop doing trade with them all together..... You telling me another country wouldn't do whatever had to be done to take the place on imports / exports ?? Folgers Coffee goes up in price ... Maxwell House drops their price in hopes to garner all of Folgers business.... That's how business works .....
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
tariffs only hurt the usa the importers in the usa will have rise the price
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Why negative minded people only watch things from one perspective? Of course, the importers might increase the good prices after Tarrifs. However, that gonna make less sale volumes if you have other competitions. If the sale volume is down, the amount to be exported from will be also down.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
I rarely LOL but hearing about an immediate 25% tariff on goods today and 50% next week actually did it. Talk about losing popularity… wait until everyone has to pay 25-50% more for their coffee. Cocaine will be spared because I’m pretty sure cartels aren’t paying duties and tariffs on their imports.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Its funny we kick the immigrants out which means fields n plants are empty which means food production goes down which means we'll have a shortage which means we import more food then we do then we pay tarrifs on the food which means higher prices becuz of tarrifs n loss of production/shortage?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Columbia doesn't pay the tariffs, the importers do and they will pass on the tariff amount plus administration fees to the American consumer in the end.. that includes the red hat cult members .
| 2025-01-26 | 1 |
Tariffes are paid by importer who passes cost to USA CONSUMERS! think about that people! He is punishing US!\nThe only true power ge has is tariffs n deportation. ... everything else he threatens has to be approved by congress etc
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
LMAO what a clown. Get ready for more expensive coffee and anything else coming from Colombia.\nRemember, Columbia does not pay the tariff, WE DO. Every product that Americans use that contains\ncaffeine will now go up in price so that importers can recoup the tariff the AMERICAN company had\nto pay to import it. So, your Starbucks coffee will go up, ground coffee, instant coffee, energy drinks, etc.\nwill ALL GO UP IN PRICE.\n\nThe Orange Traitor sticking it to Americans once again. He grifted off of MAGA for years and they\nvoted him back in. He's constantly signing illegal and unconstitutional executive orders, all of which\nare or will be challenged in court. And now he begins his dumbass tariff wars to skyrocket prices and\ninflation in THIS country.\n\nHey MAGA, when are you going to figure out this criminal president doesn't give a f*** about you. He \ndoesn't need your vote anymore, and he's a lame duck president. He's gone insane trying to use \nbully tactics to enact his racist immigration ideas. He's destroying the immigrant workforce in \nAmerica. Gas prices up, food prices up. Inflation up already. Violence up already. THIS is what you\nvoted for.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Tariffs means that US business will pay an additional cost to import the product which will then be passed on the US consumer through higher prices. So the only ones who will suffer are American consumers.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Colombia's main imports are: manufactured products (74 percent of total imports); fuels and extractive industries products (15 percent) and agricultural, food, and beverage(7 percent). Misleading comments by guest!
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Most of the coffee imports for the USA are from Brazil. Colombian coffee, of course, will be the issue.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Which dumb ass doesn't realize that the end consumer is the one who eventually has to pay the tariffs, not the country where the goods are being imported from because it will get added into the cost of importing and down to consumers.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Companies that import products pay tariffs then they pass the cost on to the consumer.\n Trump has his head firmly up his backside.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
The world we live in.. “the kind of imports that come into US from Colombia is mostly food” ???
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Most of the flowers imported into the US, come from Colombia.\n\nHappy Valentine’s Day, America. ?
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Trump is going to impoverish the USA with all these tariffs. The US citizen just won't want to pay the prices that are now being asked for imported goods that cannot be purchased from local sources. (And the price of locally sourced goods will also shoot up because of higher demand). Well done Trump, you are only punishing your own citizens with tariffs and they will hate you for it.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Excellent President Trump, This communist and criminal Colombian president does not want their co-nationals criminals back. Horrible. Triple the tariffs, stop the import of flowers and coffee, next close the embassy and stop all visas to the US.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Tariffs are a two way street, and Americans will suffer higher prices on things like coffee that we import from Colombia. Trump being a bully is going to be very costly.
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
All this means is that USA consumers pay more for whatever Colombia exports and what consumers will need ( supermarket food produce for example) ?? It does not help US farmers who cannot deliver to super markets their field produce because Trump is deporting workers who go into the fields whom primarily collect it !!!\nTrump is basically taxing the US consumers and pushing prices up !! The US importer pays the tariffs (US customs tax at port of entry) whom then passes it onto the consumer !!\nThe consumer can of course not purchase the product which would hurt Colombia exports; the importers would have to hurriedly find another source whom would probably also increase their price because of demand.\nTrump is a loser and always will be; his businesses are mostly failures; even casinos !!
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
People in these comments are on some serious copium. Y’all actin like coffee prices are gonna be a big problem because you have nothing negative to say about what Trump did. Like y’all give a shit when you go to Starbucks and spend $8 on a coffee already, or is it more? This hurts then more than it would hurt us btw, that’s why they folded so easily. Trump knew they would fold easily. Btw we can get coffee somewhere else if you truly need coffee to love you can probably drink espresso too. I buy a brand imported from Italy
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
What would he do if colombia refused to import goods to the united states. Does this remine anyone about what happen in 2017.-2018 in america.

That sucks for coffee and cocaine importers.
