But you have to get really sick in order to recover stronger than ever before. In Japan buildings depreciate in value, like cars, so the house I built last year is worth less this year (and my taxes on it are less). When I first got here I thought it was a horrible system, but now I see what a powerful benefit it is. Housing is quite affordable and there are lots of mixed neighborhoods, like mine, with million-dollar homes, small multi-units, and fewer gated communities. no kidding, I had to go work (2week contract water treatment DAFT system installation) in Bellingham, WA two years ago and I thought I was gonna get mugged by cartel gang bangers everyday that pretty well ran the lobby and halls of the Bellingham Lodge... couldn't afford anything better, and the company (Tradesman International) did not pay the per-diem as they originally agreed to! Aside that, the Asian owner ran my card again for the hotel charge, and I had to go through my bank's fraud dept. to get it back. They don't shut down or investigate the hotel! WTF?
