Because Canadian citizenship doesn't give you lots of rights. In the EU, even if you get citizenship in one small country, you can easily move to another European country. I've worked 5.5 years in the Netherlands in an ordinary town. I'm a Dutch citizen now, and I can easily move to Paris/Brussels/Rome. I'm moving in the upcoming months. Europe is kind of one big country, and Canada is a sparsely populated state with a notoriously cold climate everywhere.

There is no point of leaving India for Canada. I understand you need to be highly competitive in India to get a good paying private sector job.Indians with its highest growth rate can be entrepreneurs and have descent life than misery of Canada . India’s urban infrastructure is a cause of concern as it is governed by corrupt local bodies . If the Modi govt. take over them for atleast cities of over 1Million lots of people will completely avoid going out. India need to develop infrastructure of its 6 biggest cities on par with western nations.

I'm a Brit who has lived here 13 years and my advice to any Brit thinking of moving here is not to. If you can live in a nice county and you have a decent job you are better off in the UK. There is a lot of decline in urban areas here, tweaking drug addicts and tent encampments the likes the UK has NEVER seen. It's incredibly expensive to rent if you want to live anywhere remotely interesting. The infrastructure is so bad, unless you have a vehicle or lots of money to keep flying, you will feel incredibly isolated here. Brits are lucky to have such a great network of public transport and close proximity to Europe and all the cheap flights to get you around there. The work life balance is not as good as the UK. Most jobs here will start you on 2 weeks a year and only increase as your service grows. So after 5 years of service you will get 3 weeks and so on. Don't expect 5 weeks vacation until you have put 20 years in with most jobs. Canada is boring, it really is and so are most Canadians who also seem to have no idea what a sense of humour is. I have found new immigrants to be the friendliest, especially those from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now to the wokeness of the place, oh gosh, it's so bad. The Alberta premier has just announced very sensible and much needed gender reforms which 95% of Canadians agree with. These reforms will protect young gay kids mostly. The left have completely lost their mind over this. Women here are in genuine fear of speaking out regarding their privacy and rights to single sex spaces and sports. In the UK , this is slowly improving I believe. I'm putting things in place so I can leave. I hope things improve once the liberal government are gone but it will take many years to get this country back on track.

When billions of dollars of taxpayers and international students money are used to support and settle in Canada , the people from countries like Afghanistan Syria Ukraine etc where govt of those countries are involved in self started wars and civil wars, the burden has to be borne by citizens and PR holders. These people don't need to pass through rigorous process of PR or express entry , not to write IELTS, Do WES, Are not properly qualified but still get PR of Canada,On the other hand, rightful people who spend lot of money for IELTS, Wes, pay application money etc etc are rejected on so called system of points. What a nonsense.

When there is more immigration than needed some will leave. Reverse immigration happens in every country. Do I care people leaving? No. We are getting lots of people to do jobs nobody here want to do. 500,000 X 0.825 = 412,500( left) every year(new immigrants). That is one percent of the population as it should be. \nOnly thing that is a problem is the rising rental costs in university towns because of these excess international students. That is making rentals unaffordable for local Canadian students and taking away mac & Tim Horton jobs. Cheers.

Canadians are working two jobs and 60 to 80 hours per week just to survive! Both the husband and wife must work like slaves. We have no choice! Either work like hell or get kicked out of your apartment for failure to pay rent! They never tell immigrants this fact. Things got a lot worse after Trudeau became prime minister.

I was born in bangladesh and lived 18 years of my life there, then I moved to The us which is where I went to university and spent the next 7 years of my life. Then in 2004 I moved to canada and spent the next 13 years there before finally moving to oceania. Let me tell you why I left canada, in the later years there I was noticing how much I was being treated like an immigrant yes I am an immigrant but living 13 years of your life in the country and not being treated like a citizen but new people come into the country brand new and are treated more like citizens then you are hurts a lot. When I was new in canada I felt much more welcome by my coworkers and the citizens then I did after living there for so many years. But there's two more major reasons I left canada and these reasons are just as big as to why. In vancouver where I lived, the homeless crisis as you may know about was getting out of hand, it was a major problem even when I first settled in vancouver but now people were scared to even go the store as mentally ill homeless people were terrorizing everyone. And the last reason to top it all off was that the prices for everything in vancouver were simply ludicrous, It was insane how high the prices went up and taking care of my family was a struggle. I moved in 2017 and never once looked back, where I am now everyone and everything is sane and it hurt to leave canada at first because of how long I lived there and the memories I had there but let me be very clear I do not regret leaving canada.

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

Perhaps I will not name the most popular destination for relocation, but I suggest coming to Russia, there are many positive reasons for this (I take Moscow as an example):\n1) Affordable housing with reasonable prices. Children's camps, travel card, free school meals, as well as a lot of benefits.\n2) Developed infrastructure, accessible public transport ($30 pass for all types of transport in Moscow and the nearest Moscow region), unlimited travel pass. 783 parks in Moscow, numerous shopping centers, countless child development centers; in winter you can ski and snowboard in these same parks. In general, you will definitely find something to keep yourself busy.\n3) Affordable medicine. Russian citizenship can be obtained after 5 years of permanent residence, BUT foreign citizens have the right to obtain a medical policy for themselves after obtaining a residence permit. The price comes out to be approximately 30-60%, depending on what risk group you are in. After obtaining citizenship, all medicine is free, seriously, a foreigner I know from Australia asked me about this: “What do you mean it’s free?” All this is included in taxes, and the cost is peanuts compared to yours. The level of medicine is high, this is a separate topic for discussion, I don’t know why, but our medical centers are compared with India, this is not so. The current clinics look like Cyberpunk 2077, seriously. In the regions, unfortunately, it is completely different. In December 2023, I was hospitalized with double pneumonia, and I didn’t pay a single ruble for treatment.\n4) Security. You can calmly walk around Moscow at night and not be afraid of anything. There are cameras everywhere in Moscow, on shops, on poles, and video recorders on cars. Everyone knows perfectly well that if you commit a crime in Moscow, you will be punished, and no one in their right mind needs this. In general, if you are a good person, you can forget about this word.\n6) If you receive a residence permit, education for your children is free. Our state generally cares excessively about children. And I still remembered! Summer holidays for children are 3 months, so where should they go? Summer camp, give mom and dad a break from your nasty whims))\nIf you want to send them to the Black Sea, if you want to send them to Altai to a health center, you can send them to a city camp (They brought the child in the morning and took them away in the evening). Previously, I was constantly sent to the black sea on a permit that was given to my father at work (Shipyard). Now this is only possible in special cases.\n\n7) Vacations. You are required to go on paid leave for 28 days a year. 12 public holidays.\n\n8) Sexual minorities. Having seen enough of cancel culture, where the minority opinion became higher than the majority opinion, these communities were cancelled. When people are openly threatened for their opinions on gender. Fire teachers for using the wrong pronoun. Where pedophiles try to legitimize themselves. We are not on the same path with this.\n\nNow there is an acute shortage of IT specialists, maybe this will be interesting for them.\nFarmers like to settle here; 100 hectares of land can be bought for $16,000. Compared to Europe at $5000-6000 per acre. A well-known foreign representative is Justus Walker if anyone is interested.\nIn general, Russia is open to new citizens of the country, the state gives everything to create a unit of society, on your part you just need to be a law-abiding citizen and live a quiet life. We have problems in the country, they are the same as in any other, but nowhere will there be freedom to implement your plans as in Russia.\n\nAll the best!

I worked in the mines of Northern Ontario have had two wives and six children payed high child support and spousal support. But just before I was ready to retire I had no more responsibilities and I got to keep my pension. I brought a house twenty years ago in Newfoundland where I am from and put it in my Mother's name. I am now retired with a payed for home which I heat with a wood cook stove, electric base boards but never need them and have solar panels and wind turbines but I am still hooked up to the grid but my bill is 40 dollars.I don't have internet or Netflix only a cell phone with a 100 gigabytes download.I run my tv off solar power that charges golf cart batteries also have a generator to charge the battery bank .I download off of YouTube and other places to a 1 terabyte hard drive that run thru my laptop and have that backuped . I have a ham radio. 250 gallon water tank just in case the village I live in the water goes out. I have a water flush toilet and a compost toilet. My property has apple trees and very productive raised beds to grow food, I also fish and hunt small game but I buy beef and pork that is free range and grass fed from a local butcher. There are many ATV trails around here, we have a gas station and small grocery store which I try to buy as much as possible from to support local employment. I have a side by side ATV with a nice back box , insurance and gas cost nothing. I used to have a truck but got rid of it because I didn't need it to get around plus I enjoy the ride in the side by side. The only draw back is to many people drink and drive around here and young people on drugs who steal.. I have pension and benefits and traveled for five years before I came back here. I get restless for excitement but remember it's a time to be quiet. Don't crave others company and I am pretty healthy, the only stress I have is to figure out what I am going to do that day. Yes I have to work to get wood and grow food but I could sit on my ass all day if I felt like it but you got to keep yourself in shape. I watch a lot documentaries and read e books but have my favorite books in paper. It does get boring but boring is good and you must be happy with what you got and no I don't need a partner remember I was married twice and everything was about what they wanted and not me.. I have gotten used to not answering to anyone or having to meet their needs and wants.. yes I am happy and don't have to struggle

Spend 25-30 lakhs, live 4-5 together in basements and do hard labor jobs (warehousing, retail cashier, security). It depends on ur priority . I truly feel from development perspective of a child it’s much holistic and less harsh. Depending on capability ppl admit in private schools for more rigorous and methodical education. Public schools vary based on ratings, hence ppl select house based on school district .\nSecondly I personally felt a lot of shift in my mental health. While u have to do everything by urself it gets integrated with ur lifestyle and u learn to function parallely or sequentially. A good part I feel rather than supervising maids and doing khich khich it’s way easier to do the job on ur own.\nHere the mental health is much better, ppl care about family life , ppl care about values and respect to each other. Bcz everyone is treated at same level be it a doctor or construction worker u learn not o take ppl for granted .\nIn terms of value system, wellness here it’s much much advanced and focused , so is for child care and development .\nBut yes in the scenario today’s global ?coming u can’t come here without proper job if u r not in ur early 20s to mid 20s when u r mostly experimenting with life .

let's be honest as an international student I am in awe of how some internationals can study in Canada when they can't even speak English properly .. when I came here I needed to pass IELTS and get a band 7 for everything all my documents and transcripts were directly sent from the official email of my institution. I need to pass an exam before enrolling for my course, I have criminal, abuse registry, and child registry checks in my country and even when I am in Canada. Did all the immunizations needed and abide by their law i need to submit all these documents every 6 months access. to the policy of the program I am doing. And as an international remember you are coming to Canada they have their own culture so you need to respect and adjust to it, not Canada adjusting to you... even though Canada is diverse they have its own rules so yes adapt to the place where you are. And to them blaming the agency you the people who are using them knew exactly what they were getting into now you are complaining I did all my applications through DIY as IRCC is a direct applicant why need agents for application. Ircc should also question why a person needs an agent to process their applications. If they can't understand basic instruction and basic legal matters would you think those students will be able to survive the education system here in Canada? let's be real a lot of students are taking short-term courses, short like 8 months, and yes to get PR (I wouldn't lie cause that would be hypocrisy all international students have that aim, and if you say no just stay in your country). Now this a lesson to IRCC that they really need to make a thorough background before offering a PR permit ..and please when you are in public speak English respect the people around you... and don't speak too loud in your language when you are in working places.. uphold professionalism again remember you are in Canada a french English speaking country. And don't start with me about being racist.... cause it is plainly common sense.

I am not Muslim but Canada is still a great country. A Muslim country will be a huge change and it does depend on the country. I lived in Morocco for 2 years and you are judged by your money. Really snobby people. They hate the poor and there are lots of poor people. Cost of Living has also increased. Lovely climate. No job opportunities for young people. I worked in Dubai for 6 months. All bling and only the 20 % have any proper say. Spent a holiday in Oman. Woman still kept back. Also might get caught up in Middle East conflict. Countries like Kuwait/Saudi etc very strict after freedom of Canada. Albania probably would not be strict enough for you. 60% percent Muslim. Had a holiday there about 10 yrs ago. Beautiful in summer and I believe still reasonable. Will be interested to see where you pick. I live in Ireland cost of living madly expensive!! I have cousins in Montreal. Have spent many vacations there. Why not try Vancouver for better weather? I just love Canada but all my immediate family are here. Will be in Canada again in September.\nReally living in a country just because of your religion in this day and age is not great. We now live in a Global World. Yes. They did. A lot then like to work in restaurants to get free food. I am not kidding. But they are hardworking and bright students.

Ive come across a lot of woman too who will get pregnant in india then come here so their baby becomes a citizen, then use the child as a gateway to make it easier to have their own citizenship.

These government officials need to stop pretending that ALL international students are victims here. Let me be clear, yes some are, BUT, A LOT of them commit fraud to come here and other different countries. I used to think all international students were rich when I moved here, as tuition for them can be 3 to 4 times more expensive. Then I started realising how wrong I was, with so many that can't afford food, housing stc. Then I heard about the loan scam, where potential students would borrow money from essential loan sharks to prove they have the minimum amount to qualify for a student visa, get accepted then give the money back, paying back a fee of course. If this is a widely known thing, the government DEFINITELY knows about it too

look students pays for thier tuition without government support, then they will work double time to make it happen, then after they are educated enough then canada can benefit with educated individuals, those who cannot make it will be deported or end up thier student visa, its a win win for canada, but for now i heard that the labor market in canada is flooded with students, from restaurants to hotels; manufacturing, love the young educated cheap workers. canada will not stop this because they need the population to grow and they benefit this a lot. This comparable to H1B visa in USA but the difference is those visa holder is paid accordingly when they are hired in the USA. So the US end up getting the best people to come to thier country because only the cream of the crop or the best are the only ones that can get H1B visa. not talented enough or having police record no H1B is a fact

There are people making a lot of money out of this while Canadians are getting screwed.

The schools could save an awful lot of money by getting rid of bureaucratic bloat and all of the destructive “studies” and “critical” programs but of course that isn’t mentioned here.

You have to work from the bottom up that includes investing in education in Canada and getting credentialed In Canada\n\nFrom my observation, they may need professionals, and they may release the skids with your professional degree and professional experience, overseas, and more importantly, with your youth, so that you can work and contribute to the economy, and then finding an employer to sponsor you at a very low wage\nLower than you can survive on require you to have to get a second job\n\nFrom what I hear from the infrastructure and the business opportunities are limited in Canada\n\nEstablish those raised and educated their often for times, find themselves having to choose to mow to the United States for about 5 to 10 years in order to earn a living and then they go back to Canada\n\nThis is not unlike Canadians, especially in the prairies, wanting to travel east, and having to drop down to drive-through the United States, and then re-enter Canada, because the highways aren’t available or to take a flight from one American city to the next near the border because the cost of flights are a lot less\n\nDoes not have the infrastructure or the business opportunities to support a growing economy yet they need to accommodate immigrants because their own population is not reproducing effectively\n\nLooks like a rock and a hard place

A lot of these international students are just here to get a Canadian passport and then they leave Canada for other countries such as the US where they can make more money.

I lived in Canada for over 20 long suffering cold years. My rent in 1982 in Kamloops for a large two bedroom appartment was 105 bucks a month. Then when I moved back to Toronto and got an apartment right on Young at Grosvenor our rent shot up to a tough 620 bucks a month (all utilities included) but I was making a lot of money so it seemed like the good life. I wonder how expensive that luxury high rise is today? Probably about $4500 per month would be my guess. Canadians don't like to talk of the negatives in Toronto, but I feel really sorry for some of my family still there. My mother in law broke her back. All they could do is give her pain killers for the four months before she could get penciled in for surgery. And that was before it all went to hell. It's nice to see so many shots of places that were once so much a part of my life, but in all honesty moving to the States was the best thing I ever did. It was in fact like an escape from madness. Now similar crazyness is here, even on the South East coast of the US. Time to look for another escape. Any suggestions?\nOh, and my friends cousin got murdered in the Jane and Finch area years ago. “Most productive”. I believe so… I went to school with some people from Indian and they were incredible, very smart and studious. I loved them… but we should NEVER forget to put Canadians first. I know a lot of moms with older kids who are sending their children to study in Europe or in the US, because they can’t get a spot in Canadian universities. They were all born and raised here… :( Canadian are becoming “international students” abroad themselves because they can’t find a space here. Ive worked with these studnets in warehouses, lot of them are hard workers that are struggling to make ends meet, struggling to find a home, the government and universities just treats em as a quick buck, they get hated by wasp, face even more hate from their own who been here for years, they've been sold a false dream and we are all now suffering from political greed

Universities need ask student visas from the government. A university should only get a visa based on the percentage of native students. So UofT that has a lot of Canadian students will get approved for more Student visas than a no name college with very little Canadian students.

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. It saddens me and yes I was that asshole that got trudeau on there cos I seen one rousing speech where he invoked his dad Pierre. And I fell for it. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. The sad truth for your reputation, is that there are more people STAYING than leaving, otherwise, our population would only increase by the number of births, minus the number of deaths every year. They're trying to get rid of the middle class and force rentals and no more ownership. Refugees and immigrants are allowed in to mess with demand and covid caused people to move out of the city, then American billionaires such as Bill Gates bought up all the vacant homes and are raising prices. A lot of immigrants use Canada as a jumping-off point to get into the States. They know Canada is a trash country but they're willing to suffer in the meantime. I know many immigrants who have came to Canada and are very educated, lots of experienced in their field, couldn't find the job. But they all move to the states and are getting paid very well. Going to the USA is prosperity land not Canada. That is a fact!

As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. The homelessness has gotten so extreme.\n\nWages havw increased maybe 3x since i was a kid, but pricea rose eveey year.\n\nAs a kid we paid $850 for 3 bedrooms. When i mo ed to my first apartment i paid $800 for 3 bdrms. My friend pays $3000 now for a 2 bedroom aptt.\n\nThere are more crimes more thefts now. My old houae was 600,000 that same house is now 1.5 mil. \n\nI make 2x what i made 3 yeara ago ans things are even more expensive than, i have less now vs when i was making less. Ill never affors a house i can barley affoes to save.\n\nIm certainly looking at gettinf out of here. This country is going to trash

All of the GTHA has changed... I grew up in oakville / burlington, used to go into Toronto a lot, have lots of friends in mississauga, but just within the last I'd say 5 - 7 years nothing is the same as it was. The entire region gentrified or simply went through a rapid social, economic, and culture change. Oakville where I grew up has absolutely nothing similar to what it was when I was a living there, and pretty much my entire age group had to move somewhere else to afford to move on with our lives or stay stagnant and stuck in renting situations. \n\nIt's quite shocking and sad. I could go on about Hamilton too, but I hope you get the picture.

This is pretty funny. I'm Canadian and my best friend is an economist working for the government on demographic issues full time. Just has an FYI canada has seen its highest immigration rate in the past 50 years last year. I can also see and feel all the immigrants moving in the job market. I'm not so sure why those videos keep being produced. This country is not perfect but it's better than many other places in the world. For example, canada is barely affected by climate change because we already have resilient infrastructure. When it comes to housing it's not so much that the governement does not allow for more building than the fact that it's hard to build affordable homes because the homes in canada require a lot of work due to the nature of the climate. (Has a trained carpenter and GC I know.) It's also very far from all of the world's chaos. All those emerging wars will affect Europe directly but all we get are some small economic backlashes. Anyhow, I've been living here for my whole 31 years of life and I've enjoyed the place and its peace. What I dislike is the cold and the lack of sun. I hope this message helps people having a fairer POV.

Canada is full of scam. Every services charge like insane amount. Not only rent price. I felt like Canada itself was like scam country to be honest. I wasted a lot of time to settle down there. After getting PR, it took only 2 months to decide to go back to my home country.

We came to Canada in seventies, and it takes at least 5 to 8 years to settle here. These days, people are doing well in India. There is no need to move here. Canada has also changed a lot. I know people who came to Canada returned to india after 5 months. Not once twice. They came back and are well settled. I will say if people are doing good in India and have a big circle of family and friends in India. Then they won't be happy here. Finding a good job takes years in some case. It's your luck too if you find a decent job then you will be ok. The worst thing here is long winter. You get tired of cold and snow. Now the cost of living is very high, renting or buying a house is very expensive. In the end, most people make it.

We need to remove a lot of red tape for business and let’s get things going. Stop the hand outs.

We live in Houston, Texas, where the culture is more conservative. Parents are not told how to raise their children, cost of living is still relatively good, and being Muslim (wife wears hijab) hasn't been as challenging as other places. \n\nPlenty of Muslims from all over, mosques, Islamic schools, halal food, etc too. \n\nMy parents moved my siblings and I from Los Angeles to Karachi, when I was 12. Not so much for religious reasons, more homesickness. After a miserable 15 yrs, I moved back to the US. \n\nI'm not trying to dissuade you guys. Wanted to share a few key things to help your transition:\n1. Pilot it out. Move to Istanbul for 6 months, then maybe Kuala Lumpur for another 6 months, etc. Test out each location. Inflation is everywhere. Not all Islamic countries are Islamic. But you have to experience it first hand. \n2. Take LOTS of money. A decent life outside the first world means you're loaded. \n3. Build connections where ever you go. The things we take for granted are luxuries elsewhere. Water, electricity, gas. Connections help you get what you need, sometimes for a price. \n4. Schools will be underwhelming. If you can homeschool, cool. \n5. If you start a business, go solo. Don't partner up with others. \n\nIn any case, hope it works out inshaAllah. Who knows, we may be neighbors!

Im a syrian , my country originaly is one of the best places which you can enjoy literally 4 seasons , mild winter and mild summer compared to other countries in the middle east , sytia also has a lot of natural and archaeological sites to whom is interested ..however two major factors are making me think of moving to another country -mainly are the wars inforced on syria to capture the rich mineral sources we have .\n-the inflation caused by the war , made it uncomfortable struggling to keep a least standard of living which becoming impossible to retain .\nTherefore , im also thinking of hijra ,hopefully to a country where ill feel safe and confortable to retire there..\nTop country id like to live in is malaysia , but im not sure how are the laws regarding foreigners getting residency etc..\nMay Allah help you and family , me and family getting the best as HE almighty knows what n where ..
