I think there is not much to do in Canada apart from snow and forests. I think in the past only prisoners were sent there?\nBut I heard this country pay you very well if you move in there, because they cannot find people that want go there actually. As I understand it, it all goes back to the province of Quebec. to get Quebec to join Canada, education was made a provincial thing, not a national thing. This means that there is no national education policy in Canada, unlike a lot of comparable nations. This means it is very difficult to plan, and educate the work force to fulfill anticipated needs. The solution? Put it on the list! Immigration Canada has a list of jobs that Canada needs to fill. If you would like to immigrate to Canada, and you have work history or education for something on the list, you're in! This is much easier that investing in Canadians and planning 5-10 years ahead. If we need more nurses...put it on the list! If we need more engineers...put it on the list! If we have too many already...take it off the list. A lot of immigrants are disappointed when they get here, because from the outside, Canada seems great. Yes, it is a very safe country, and has a lot going for it. But people may be surprised to find that they have been allowed into the country, to fill jobs no one else wants. And it's a lot of work to move here from another country, so immigrants tend to get stuck in a bad situation.

All the druggies you showed in the video, how many of them are 5 year old immigrants ? Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. U think they care enough for their home country?\n If Canada won't, somebody Else will accept these people. Hence get rid of ur ego and attitude, it's YOU that needs immigrants more than they need you ?? \nLastly, don't forget your ancestors too arrived here in ship loads from Europe as immigrants, taking away the land belonging to the native Indians who were slaughtered and today live as prisoners in reservation lands... on their own soil. These students are from very wealthy families who often have housemaids and servants to do domestic chores and who can afford to pay ridiculous student tuition for a second-rate Canadian post-secondary education. There are top Indian schools where it costs maybe 1/8th the cost and the education is very, very good (e.g. Indian Institutes of Technology) and certainly better than what they are getting in these second-rate diploma mills in Ontario. Moreover, there are very good tech jobs in India in cities like Bangalore. What these students are really after is Canadian citizenship, through a pathway that does not require strong qualifications. They were promised that by Indian immigration consultants. With Canadian citizenship, it is much easier to travel and live in the US, where many of them want to go (and some are even now entering illegally). \nA second reason is that these younger adults want to live independently from their parents. Many of them arriving in Canada are living on their own or with other students, for the first time in their lives, and are enjoying a lot more freedom from Indian social norms such as not being able to date people of a different religion or sexual orientation, or to marry the person of their choice instead of having parents involved. Three or four generations ago, when a lot of immigrants came after WWII, those from India were coming to large research universities or engineering firms and had a job or full fee waiver or university fellowship waiting for them. They were much more qualified and went on to be doctors, professors, business people and other professionals. This is what largely composed the Indian diaspora in Canada, until this wave of students brought along by the current government which admitted over 200K Indian students -- per year.

I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

No, that was not the conditions. Tax payers should not be paying them, they should not be going to food banks. That is set up for the taxpayers whose taxes pay for them. If there so much work, they'd be working, not taking jobs from Canadians. Go back to your own country, practice there what you learnt here. Teach others in yogurt ur country what you learnt here. All funding s hould be cut fr om them, Visa exired so should funding.

We have pretty much very similar challenges in Australia. I would say living cost is even higher than Canada. But the good aspect is the weather. In Western Australia we enjoy over 300d Blue sunny skies and in Winter although rainy, we seldom get below freezing temperatures. So i don't need to worry about damaging my LFP batteries for my Offgrid solar system.\nAnother benefit is the bike path network in WA is extensive. You can pretty much get to anywhere on a bike, riding mostly on a very nice and safe bike path. I cover 60km every day travelling to/from work on my ebike. And it takes less than 1 hour for each trip.\nCrime rate has been getting worse though. It is fuel by drug use. So if people go out especially at night, you definitely need to be highly alert and watch your 6 o'clock. One can get attacked for no obvious reason and very commonly from behind. ???

Price of everything going up like crazy but wages aren't keeping up. In a discussion that I had on facebook, many canadians said that Canada was cheaper than USA but thats impossible the whole cost of livong its cheaper there, houses are cheaper, salaries are much better and you oqy less taxes, but if you talk about health services you will have to pay but with all that money that wont go to Trudeaus pocket I think you will be ok paying for a private health services.\nBy the way Ive thinking about moving to States as well but I font know how and if I can get a job there then I will get my green card?

US caps Green cards based on where you were born. For Canada, China and India remain the two big contributors. NZ, Australia and Canada fall in the same category. Not much going on economy wise so trying to grow population to gain more GDP and taxation. Also, helps run the Ponzi schemes like housing where prices keep on multiplying every decade. Govt gets paid the taxes. Banks make money through interest. Poor citizen in the end gets nothing.

Twenty years ago I left Canada and boy am I glad I did so. The country has turned into a disaster unless you're rich. The obsene house and rental prices are obviously the result of gross mismanagement. I mean, the government employs economists who should be able to advise that too many buyers and too few houses is going to lead to major trouble. A rich country with so much land should not have this problem. When it comes to gas prices, Canadians have to drive some of the longest distances in the world and are forced to pay such high gas prices. Since there is almost no public transportation, what choice to people have but drive. Regarding the grocery situation, allowing a handful of massive companies hold Canadians ransom is complete bullshit. This is where the government needs to do something to rein in this behavior. Obviously people need to eat but allowing these companies to rake in obsene profits because of this basic need is a crime. I hate the idea of a PC government, but the Liberals have definitely failed.

We cared so much about their suffering and wanted to help. We couldnt end the war in their countries so we offered them a safe place to share in our home (country) so they could build a life and live in peace. But just like when you feed a wild animal once they take it for granted and become aggressive when you cant give more. If you need shelter from war and someone offers you a safe place in their house or country its extremely selfish and bad manners to then keep going on about the war in the house or country that was offered to you in good wiil with only good intentions.

Little late to the conversation, but i only recently discovered this channel. I can agree with the majority of opinions in general, politics, guns, healthcare etc are all better here in Canada. Sure there may be safe pockets in the US but that’s not typically an issue in Canada. You don’t need to strategize where to live here based on that stuff, but may need to take into account the weather as it drastically varies within Canada. \nMoving to the US would typically be based on a job opportunity and likely wouldn’t provide much choice in location - go where the work is and unless it’s opening a small shop somewhere or working in a rural setting, you’re likely going to be in a bigger city where the majority of the violence is. Even so, with laws like ‘stand your ground’ you could get shit anywhere if you piss off the wring person. In Canada, you might yell at each & flip them off, then you just walk away without concern of being shot. You might get jerseyed though. ?

The eye infection hits home. I'm in Canada. I had an eye infection and couldn't see a doctor. Ended up having to go to a pharmacist to get over-the-counter polysporin anti-biotic eye drops. My daughter then got it much worse and couldnt' get in to see any doctors at all. Had to go to an eyeglass store that had an optometrist on site who was able to write her a prescription eye drops.

Brampton only has 80% people of one ethnicity that too if the stats shown here are correct, however, there are many many cities in Canada which has more than 90% to 100% just white people, and such ethnic enclaves are the much bigger issue if we go by the idea of this video of having one dominant ethnicity is problem.

Did immigrants not look in to things like this before wanting to live in Canada? I am going to be honest. All though I have lived in Canada 20 years ago. Felt very much at home. I also saw a country that is far from being better on the important topics for living a life. People want to immigrate go to countries where they can. In Denmark immigrants are not wanted, but is a more balanced country on most topics to live in if you want better. ???

Wow any idea why people are crazy to enter canada bcoz standard of livibg is good in your country and any idea how much cost it occurs to stay and study in canada i am not good in conversions but lemme tell u its very very high people literally sell everything they have in india to go and study there now just assume why do people sell like crazy people just to study i mean think about it bcoz of PR they sell like crazy if they can invest that amount in india they can get a degree from good universities in india and good jobs but if the same amount is invested in canada the standard of living will improve by obtaining canadian citizenship now if u r sane person think about it its all about standard of living and its not crime to look for better life and at the start of applying in universities of canada a job and PR were available as options so indians applief there with that intention now if u change those rules overnight the money we invested is just thrown into dustbin and i dont know why people think its wrong things to even protest on that if u hate immigration that badly dont show ur anger on indians or other immigrants show that anger on ut government for showing us indians a better future and allowing us indians to enter ur country legally with PR in future prospect Nd why do u think even after such outrage on immigration canada yet allows immigrants bcoz its simple people spend like crazy for such oppurtunities and canada has taken advantage of that and now canadians like we got ur money so get out from our country wow i ddidnt know people can be this greedy and selfish.

The fact you have to pay a couple HUNDRED bucks a month is crazy! We have extra coverage with our jobs for chiro, massage, dental work, but i NEVER paid that much for it. And like I said, the work insurance is for extras, not basic care. I'm on disability so no work insurance and i haven't paid a dime even for major surgeries that meant 2 seeks in the hostital, 2 days ICU, rehab, meds, home care. That's all covered by gvmt (Yes by our taxes, but we actually don't pay more taxes than you) . I would need that extra insurance if i wanted to go to a private clinic or something.\n\nEven the homecare that I have, not the post surgery one, basics like cooking and cleaning, is paid by a gvmt program to come 10hrs a week for me but they also cover full time! It's a case by case

People need to understand, Palestinian refugees are unlike any other refugees in the world. Once Palestinian refugees leave Palestine, they are never going back. That is why Palestinians don't want to leave regardless of how much they are suffering. They have learned their lesson from history. What they lost they never gained back. Nonetheless, I still believe that any Palestinian who wants to leave should be able to.

European people can always pack up and go back to Europe if you can’t compete. This is Canada not Europe. I don’t see real native Canadians complaining too much.

Some of those students look much older then what I think a student would be. I shop at a independent grocery store not part of a chain well I know all the ladies that work at the cash registers about 2 weeks ago I go shopping I thought I was in a different country everyone working the cash registers was from India all students but let's remember give business owners a payout for hiring these students so the business saves money and get cheap labour iam against this it's counter productive for Canada.

Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

This video reeks of Racism, laws (if they want to be fair) can never retrospective in nature/application. All the students who are already in Canada should have the option to be eligible for a PR, they (the Indian students) went there for a better life, they have their entire existence dependent on the fact of becoming a Canadian citizen eventually. Deporting them would be a loss for India as well as Canada, as many of them will end up with depression and feeling of failure. \n\nThe Canadian government must allow these student who are already in the country to apply for citizenship and make citizenship and PR rules stricter going forward. From what I know, Sikhs are upstanding and outstanding community and great addition to any society, Canada will be much better off having them, than leaving them in a bad state by deporting them.

This is not about indian students only. If you people think that we come up from poor families to study abroad then you are truly wrong up in here. We belongs to well renowned family and we do have enough money to buy out things. Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

Holy shit the fact that its Indian's chanting fair rules is so ironic. These people are the biggest scammers, lying on visa/school applications, lying about education and job experience, scamming driving schools so people with no driving experience are getting licenses, mortgage scams, food bank scams, I could go on and on. They have taken so much advantage and treated our country so badly, that even Canadian liberals, the most welcoming and pro-immigrant people on earth are sick of them.

As a Pakistani immigrant, I worked on my accent, cultural education. I have almost no Pakistani or Indian friends, for the very reason that I came here for what Canada is and what it has to offer. To integrate. I have a hard time with folks whatever their nationality, but who are huddled around more of themselves all for the reason of familiarity and comfort. They forget how much there is to learn. \n\nToronto is starting to feel like Missisagua too now. Go train is having issues with all the Uber drivers lugging their ebikes on the train.

To all those people saying the Indians took your jobs. You’re full of crap. Tons of work in this country to do. You are just too lazy to look for the right one. As much as I dislike seeing some of them making a bad name for the rest of Indians. The ones I know are very well educated people who come here to work. I’ve never seen a homeless Indian or one walking downtown drugged out of their faces. Every crack head and homeless person I see in any city in this country is straight up white, including the ones in your video. Go figure. Also, what you feel now is what the natives felt when you white folks came over, only difference is that nobody is rapping or killing your kids and separating families. God bless you all.

9:37 it's good to hear that you grew up in Germany. Maybe it was better before, but nowadays the DeutcheBahn is so unpredictable, with all the strikes etc. It became a meme. Previously the low cost airlines kinda was a choice, but these days the tax on flight deliberately increased by German government, and there are not much cheap flights left, better to cross the border and fly from there. Also I find it not fair to compare Germany and Canada as their areas are different. Definitely not to compare with Singapore.\nI heard that flight in Canada are very expensive, but if I would live in Vancouver I would prefer to go to Seattle over the border for a weekend rather than going to Toronto on the other side of the continent. Car option in Canada I assume is more affordable that Germany. The German gas price(for cars), or energy in general considered to be one of the most expensive in the World. Also the expenses to get a car license, people are just saying that it's easier and cheaper to fly over to USA get car driving license there and come back. In general with all the pros and cons, Canada seems better when compared to Germany, I saw several people left from Germany to Canada, and only 1 from Canada to Germany(his main reason was high property prices, and German were surprised because of such reason, the prices risen in Germany as well, except maybe for rural areas).\n\nAlso to make it fare when comparing Toronto better to compare it to Berlin, not just to any city in Germany. I think there will the same homelessness and drug issues in Berlin.

Let's make Canada great again. Actually I'm kidding. Let's not go down that road. It's easy to poke holes, and cherry pick problems, much harder to appreciate the good things we have. Canada has problems for sure but every place does and we really don't have it so bad. Unreasonable expectations are just as big of a problem as high prices. If Vancouver is too expensive then go somewhere else. I did. Canada is a big place. Very big. There are loads of opportunities if you get out of the rut you are in and stop thinking that life owes you a certain lifestyle.

I'm Chilean. My sister moved to London bc of a job opportunity and lived there for 15 years, but after Brexit things started to go sour; my BIL's company offered to move him to Toronto. Off they go... they HATED it; the drab culture, the weather, the prices (higher than London!), the quality of the schools their kids go to, etc. I went there last year and, honestly, besides being obviously safer than Santiago, I found it a very boring city; much more than any other I've been to in the US, Europe and South America. Plus they are constantly complaining about the extreme protectionism, which means some things are hard to come buy or to order online, and explains the high costs of telecoms. Well, they decided it was too bad for them, so they're returning to Chile this year?‍♀️

That business of saying sorry when you bump into them/they bumped you is a relic of the Anglo saxons cultural majority period. Doesn't look like it'll go on for much longer: treasure it.
