10 years for only 86% of people to start contributing and/or speak the language... That is not a good thing. You had to go back to the 70's to find a success story too? What does that say about the current situation? Asian Canadians tend to assimilate much better than other groups and it took a group of them a long time to do partially do so. How are the tens of thousands of people doing that hate us and our culture?

Stop portraying illegal immigrants as victims. I have friends who waited more than 10 years, some even 20, just to migrate to the US. They came from poor countries too, but they still followed the law. And these types of people should stop using their length of stay in the US an excuse not to get deported when they entered illegally in the first place. Also, 15 years in the US and still no English? Immigration should be a a win-win on both the country and the applying immigrant.

So you lived in two countries were English is needed for over 10 years, still didn't get a citizenship nor speaks English..shows that these people do not want to fit in sort of speak. They want to take and take. They do not want to better themselves.

Much better than cages! \n\nSecondly, these individuals have already gone through the immigration process, hearing claims, back ground checks, medical checks. So these individuals in hotels have already been accepted to stay in Canada. They are in hotels due to Housing shortage issue. \n\nThird, way more illegal immigrants have been detained and removed from Canada. \n\nFourth, most of these people are families. Canada is very skeptical of accepting males. Sorry guys! \n\nFifth, these hotels have a contract with the government. These are the same hotels that were used to temporarily shelter Syrian refugees. Usually 3-4 families stay in one hotel. 500 people won't be staying in the same hotel. Plus the hotels charge the government an insane amount. So they make money. \n\nSixth, more than 10% of hotel cleaning jobs go unfilled. Guess what? Most of these asylum seekers end up working in the hotels they're staying in because of program called Employing Newcomers in Canadian Hotels Project. \n\nDon't worry about us America we know what we're doing. Trust me, no children were separated from their families and placed in cages.

The US accepts about 1 000 000 immigrants per year. For a population of about 300 million people. Canada accepts about 300 000 immigrants per year, for a population of about 35 million people. So that means the US should accept about 10 000 000 immigrants per year. Or Canada about 30 000 immigrants per year.\n\nSo dont try to compare your-self with Canada on immigration. I feel sorry for his family, but people must follow the law. Get in line and follow the laws of the country to want to go to. It took my husband 10 years before he became a citizen.

So, an economic migrant makes a false claim for asylum, wastes a lot of taxpayer money in court costs, and is ticked off because he does not get what he is not entitled to. Canada has the population of 30 million people. It's easier to keep track of 30 million than 350 million which is the approximate population of the United States. From what I heard coming from other source .Also when I see them at food banks taking home more than $150.00 in groceries from just 1 food bank they goto 9 amonth .their cell phones are top of the line .Clothes and shoes brand name only .Gold jewllery ladys purses $300.00 and up .And they all have cars from 40 thousand and up . One place i never see them is value village .How do they do iit ?I had 2 kids and on welfare a few years back and I had a hard time trying to get some things that we badly needed and could not afford and things were a lot cheaper .The most I ever spent at no frills been on assistance was $75.00 for the whole month .6 years ago and no cell phone gold. or cars .So how these people do it ?oh and by the way I go ti no frills once a week .Those same refugees are there every thursday spending $500.00. on goceries and none of them work .Some time neighbours talk and thats how things are know .Our government is a big lier .We the tax payers are paying for all of these Once a refugee of this country one canot be sent back or deported so if this refugee never finds a job you the tax payer and I will pay for his or her assistance and maybe for a life time .like in the case of gypsies refugees they are all on assistance go to all the food banks rob the community of their belongins their cars items from stores donations in front of churches and stores they dress the best also spend hundreds of dollars on food they shop for clothes at the mall and we the tax payer brake our backs 6 days a week 10 hours a day like me and I cant afford even half of what these people can .So even if they become criminals we have to support them .Some refugee law and rights should be changed to ensure that tax payers are not been taking advantage of .

Let's put it another way... I was born in Canada and I had moved abroad at 30 for work and was gone for about 10 years. When I got back, it happened to be the same year our PM was waiting at the airport for the arrival of some refugees with winter coats for them and their Medicare cards, as well as housing provided for them. I had to run around for a full month trying to get my drivers license renewed since it had expired, and had to wait a full 6 months to get a probationary Medicare card, p-r-o-b-a-t-i-o-n-a-r-y....I felt outraged. I am not saying that many don't have a valid reason to flee their country, but when they know that they will receive housing and cash, of course people will flock to Canada, even if they aren't fleeing something.

More people are killed or injured traveling in car than in a mountain bike. There are 50 states in the USA so most statements you make may refer to just one or two states. Canada has 10 provinces and the health care is slightly different in each province. Wait until you have lived in any country for a few years before you can talk authoritatively about it. Canada is a good country to live in so is Australia but even better are some or the northern or western countries in Europe where health care is affordable and good and food is affordable and good. The USA has more millionaires and billionaires and a lot of them are in government. Think about that. Lots of guns and judging by the news quite a few racist cops who never get punished. Think about that too. Bad water in many places; also worth thinking about. There are more lobbyists than there are legislators and they all make money; think about that and ask yourself why.

There have been thousands of terrorist attacks in the last decade, 5,000 people out of a billion couldn't find each other and setup this many attacks.
