Tyler, most Canada who can pay for extended health care if their employer offers it! Because of what's not covered... Usually it's co pay in better jobs, 50/50 or employees pay the whole cost... if it's offered. So obviously our tax paid basic health care isn't so great unless you're old or poor.

People mistakenly believe that Canada is a country. Canada is not and has never been a country. Canada is and has always been a business venture. A business venture that originated in Europe several hundred years ago. A business venture that required employees to develop. Incentives were given to Europeans to come to Canada for this purpose. Those incentives included things like; a higher standard of living, gainful employment, the opportunity to own real estate, freedoms that didn't exist in Europe. Europeans accepted that offer. Came to Canada and built the infrastructure that currently exists in Canada. This development project is now complete. I don't know who made this decision, but it appears to have been decided that the maintenance of this project will fall to Asia going forward. We are seeing this transition unfolding. This was probably decided since those of European descent would never tolerate the authoritarian neo-feudalist dystopia that they have in mind for this country. It is now time for Europeans to return home to Europe. The job is done. I no longer recognize nor relate to this country. I feel like I am in a foreign country. There is no longer a place for me here. I plan to flee back to Europe as soon as it is financially viable to do so.

The difference between modern mass immigration and immigration of the past is so stark. My great grandfather came over fleeing fascist Italy and built a tile and terrazzo business on blood, sweat and tears. It has employed members of my family the last 4 generations alongside 100's of other employees the past 75 years. They have paid millions in taxes and helped build up the community in a literal and metaphoric sense. \n\nToday, most immigrants are allowed entry to boost profit margins in academia while offering little in terms of viable skills outside of the service industry. I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

I'm a contracted cybersecurity specialist for a large company here in Ontario and get to run OSINT (intelligence gathering) on potential new hires for security restricted positions -- at least 95% of the candidates applying are from India and are lying on resumes (credentials, permits, education) in order to get jobs. Some lie a bit better than others, but still - blatent lines in order to take jobs from deserving Canadians. I suspect that any company not running these checks and hiring these folks are stuck once they do hire (or have to make 'accomodation' to keep them employed). Despicable tactics.

There IS NOT a lack of housing in canada , there IS ONLY an affordability problem along with far too much immigration by volume and time frame . Our services and infrastructure (ie; transit services , health care , employment , realisticly affordable housing , finances , etc .) are no where near adequate to accomodate canadians even before the over populating of foreigners . They have been coming here and buying up all the affordable housing during , and post pandemic , with offers far above listed or fair market values , to push owners to sell without question or thought . They pay top dollar and care nothing about the money , because being that they own most of the businesses , they will get it all back from you within about a years time by raising prices ultimately to do so . Sorry, but I didn't know 'so many people' were leaving Canada. In fact, my European friends living in Canada, LOVE Canada. Their number one reason? The government is for the people. Their numerous benefits, programs and services (employment Insurance, child benefit, pensions, benefits for housing, student aid, family benefits, grants and funding opportunities, disabilities and their recently implemented dental care plan), says it all. Sure the cost of living is high, but where isn’t? Especially after covid and especially if you want a decent quality of life. Their car insurance and phone plans are also expensive but they're getting better. Stay out of the big cities if you can't afford it. There are other parts of Canada that is affordable. \n\nBtw, the healthcare industry, particularly the long-term care sector is a good place to earn a decent living. They are always looking for RNs, PSWs etc. \n\nIn the end, the positives outweigh the negatives. Besides having free healthcare and the many generous social services and benefits, Canada is also a progressive country with strong social policies, including gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights and environmental sustainability, (we’re drinking out of those gross cardboard straws now. Hello?). Then there is our natural and breathtaking landscapes, our four seasons, our excellent education system, diverse communities, friendly people, our cool festivals (The Calgary Stampede, Montreal International Jazz Festival, Caribana, Toronto International Film Festival, Just for Laughs Montreal, Pride Toronto are a few that come to mind), our great air and water quality, strict gun laws, legal cannabis… I could go on and on.\n\nIf you're able to afford living in Canada, consider yourself fortunate.

Canada is very expensive. One of my friend who had moved there with her husband and is employed and well paid as usual in IT industry says it is much more difficult even with double salary on the higher levels to sustain in parts of Canada like Vancouver as the prices are extremely high including rental and commodity prices.\n\nI had tried for Canada but could not gather enough points due to my age, probably it has turned out a blessing

We came to Canada 17 years ago, with nothing, we were lucky, a few years later the kids were moving out, we both are self employed (skilled people from Germany) we worked like oxen, still do, we paid off our own house and soon 2 more rentals, we are close to retirement. Canada was extremely difficult at the beginning, they don't accept knowledge from other places, even if it comes from places like Germany. You got to do it the retarded Canadian way, If you're just some poor lad who works in a Hamburger factory you will stay poor for sure. There is no affordable housing, a blue collar job will keep you poor. You gotta be self employed, THATs the only way here. Winter sucks, we will soon spend our winters abroad. Canadian government is run by communist criminals, there are skilled people moving out of here, lots of them. There are druggies roaming the streets where we live, (and everywhere else) if one ever wants to break into my house I am legally not allowed to protect my family, it's a joke. A bitter one.

I now pay 24% income tax, have a higher quality of life, employer paid benefits, and access to health care within hours / days rather than years. Real estate agents are the biggest culprits in the rise of prices. I’ve been there several times as telling me my house is worth hundreds of thousands more or we can say exaggerated by 30% or more then my house is on the market for a year which is nota big deal for an agent they have 40 other listings and access to more moneymakers , I’ve sold my last 2 homes personally within days or weeks which were reasonably priced not overpriced this made everyone happy . Twenty years ago I left Canada and boy am I glad I did so. The country has turned into a disaster unless you're rich. The obsene house and rental prices are obviously the result of gross mismanagement. I mean, the government employs economists who should be able to advise that too many buyers and too few houses is going to lead to major trouble. A rich country with so much land should not have this problem. When it comes to gas prices, Canadians have to drive some of the longest distances in the world and are forced to pay such high gas prices. Since there is almost no public transportation, what choice to people have but drive. Regarding the grocery situation, allowing a handful of massive companies hold Canadians ransom is complete bullshit. This is where the government needs to do something to rein in this behavior. Obviously people need to eat but allowing these companies to rake in obsene profits because of this basic need is a crime. I hate the idea of a PC government, but the Liberals have definitely failed.

AS you mentioned that previous work experience If it outside canada ,SO it must be backed up with legal documents Can you open a bit more about what type of documents qualify for this? I have letters that outline a confirmation of employment (including position held at the company and the start/end dates of employment)These letters were prepared on company letterhead, signed and stamped but what about the paystub, i have to submit that or just submit the PR Reference letter ? and. that's all i want to submit for my previous job work experience ?Thanks in advance.

A few people we know are thinking about stopping donating monthly to food banks because of the scam that some people are pulling using food banks when they are financially secure and don't need to. They just caught one foreign student who was employed for $90+ per year. He had a youtube video showing people how he eats for free using food banks.

Yes, please stop moving to our over saturated economy. Canadas economy is not ready to sustain such a large number of immigrants. When you have an extra 451,000 people flooding in per year that require jobs in a very sparsely populated country you’re going to run into housing and job shortages, which increase demands, increasing prices and therefore increasing homeless because people can’t afford living and they can’t get a job because a requirement for being an immigrant is full time employment.

He's a fall guy for cheap trucking companies. New immigrants rely on their employment to stay in the country and their employers use that leverage to skirt safety and labour regulations. The situation is not the fault of the students or the Indian students. It's solely the fault of the Canadian government because no Indian student can come to Canada without a student visa. They are accepting so many students only for financial gain. This is a result of corruption. But unfortunately, all the hate will go towards Indian students even when it's the government's fault. Many students have been misled by Canadian colleges, they have invested a significant amount of money and contributed to the Canadian economy, only to find themselves unable to secure employment. As a result, they are left with no choice but to return to India and confront their families and communities. This is a major factor contributing to the high number of students returning to India in unfortunate circumstances even suicide.

Every third person that you meet in Canada in 20 years will be from South Asia. Most of us are economic immigrants and came here to live a happy peaceful prosperous life and contribute to the economy in the form of taxes. We are not a drain on the exchequer - most of our unproductive part of our lives have been paid off by India and now Canada is reaping those benefits. I love Cape Breton. Canada is a big country. Our family immigrated to Halifax and then lived in Lake Simcoe area, then Kirkland Lake, Ontario, then lived in three or four homes in Edmonton. But the population of Alberta has tripled since I lived there and the population of Canada has doubled. Cities are mostly the same in the U.S. or Canada. I've lived in Philadelphia and Boston and on the coast of Maine. Maine and Nova Scotia share much in common. Cities are the problem: over-crowded, expensive, lacking decent employment, crime infested, etc but this is true in most of the cities of the world, whether in India or U.S. or Canada. Don't blame the country for city problems;.

Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.
