I feel the most important issue for discussion can be boiled down to one question: Are pro-environmental regulation beneficial to the people? First time I voted him, and then I noticed something really off after he won. At the time Toronto became a city with lots of ignorance, brain-washing people who believed he did great. When I tried to express my concern, I got blackmailed and warned and even attracted by certain group of people on the street. Nobody came to help. Voters in these battleground areas were believed to be willing to vote Liberal, if they could have some representation in Ottawa, especially in cabinet. Even as a member of this diaspora, I think courting this population like this was a huge mistake. \n\nIn the post-war II period, the immigrants that came from Canada, were highly qualified, scientists, engineers, architects -- you name it, that had jobs waiting for them at universities and tech firms. If they were students, they came into Ph.D. programs fully supported with stipends. This generation helped Canada tremendously and made Canada a leader in crop science and microbiology research, just to name an example. Today, many here on student visas are working at Tim's or delivering Amazon packages, or even driving trucks without proper training.

I retuned to Canada, and now live in Toronto, after 16 years overseas, and I believe that your comments are fair, balanced and reasonable. I believe that the issues are primarily the result of failure of governance at every level. We all know that we need significant immigration if we are to support our rapidly aging population, but simply bringing new people in without effective plans to integrate them into our society is a predictable recipe for trouble.

As an immigrant myself who loves Canada and her people, I always tell my colleagues to claim their spot in their own country. Canadians are too kind that opportunistic immigrants will take advantage of it. I don't believe in multiculturalism. I believe in assimilation.

I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. Housing a double digit of residents in the basement at absurd costs so the landlords can afford their ridiculous mortgages and lifestyle off the back of other immigrants/refugees.\n\nThe main issue is the hate directed towards immigrants. First of all, in the video it was disgusting for the man to acknowledge that someone was wearing good clothes and asking where the refugee center is. Someone can be a refugee and still have money. That's the ideal refugee. Someone with money in a war-torn country such as Sudan are high targets and completely deserve to run away to a safe country like Canada - especially if they can afford to spend money and stimulate the economy.\n\nStop attacking the people. This is a housing crisis issue that has been so poorly managed that these deeply rooted symptoms are beginning to show.

People actually believe you can have an economy based on finance/warehousing.

The US administration is attempting to continue to divide people. Like on 9/11, when they painted us Muslims as the villains rather than the actual perpetrators of the event, they want us to believe that all Jews are evil. Palestine will be free, in sha Allah.

Lynn Ngugi am so grand you touched on the taxes as a factor and how they work in other countries where people actually do pay taxes . Unfortunately our fellow citizens will fight tooth and nail because they don’t want to pay taxes . Even those who can afford to pay will fight to be exempted from paying including going to courts just to avoid paying taxes . \nLife in Diaspora may look easy and smooth running to those not living there that is because the mechanism of running the economy is well put in place .\nHowever our people please remember the residents in these countries are actually paying taxes and in turn their government uses this tax money to run the economy . \n\nSo in these countries that we are running to as refugees ?believe you me if you are legitimately employed earning a living and with a paycheck then you automatically become a tax payer as well no body is fighting that . \n\nSo our people let’s stop fighting our own regimes on every policy concerning paying taxes , otherwise we are doomed and will be on exodus status for eternity. Let’s start at home and borrow a leaf from these other Nations where the systems actually works for the sake of the people that are calling those countries home ! What are we doing wrong in our own home country ? ? that should be a very important question in our minds. \n\nRunning to other peoples countries in search of green pastures instead of building our own countries and economy we are actually by choice or design shortening our lives and future generations ? \n \nMay our good Lord and creator give us generational grace , love , wisdom and power to change this trajectory . \nThis is my wish and prayers for future generations in every corner of this our great CONTINENT ?
