December 2024, Canadian Parliament approved a plan to secure their border with the US.\nJanuary 2024, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dismissed the Parliament and delayed the election of a new Parliament until March, giving him 3 months of carte blanche. One of his first acts was to cancel the plan to secure their border, claiming that it was too expensive.\nFebruary 2024, US President Donald Trump forced PM Trudeau to reinstate the plan by making the tariffs more expensive than it would be to secure their border.
