Not entirely accurate. It's pro-wealthy immigration here in Canada absolutely. It's citizenship for sale. Not necessarily wealthy in terms of really wealthy (like Switzerland) but it's definitely citizenship for sale, so if you don't have money, don't bother. Newcomers with medical and engineering expertise can't get jobs here in Canada, in spite of our healthcare system being on the point of collapse and our supposed hi-tech push. Regulatory boards here have made it impossible. Estimates are around 175000 qualified, internationally trained doctors and nurses who gave up trying to practice here and moved into other careers. Ukrainian doctors, for eg, with extensive trauma experience and willing to staff our emergency departments have been told they have to requalify by going to Canadian medical school to retrain for at least 4 years. Same story in engineering. By IT, our government seems to mean low-paid call center IT work, moving the IT sweatshop racket from India onto Canadian soil. If you can afford to buy a business - I believe the total business investment was 500 000 pre-pandemic - that's another way in. Not sure if thats gone up now. So many of our franchise businesses are essentially being used as citizenship tickets. The big ticket item: If you can afford 4 years of postgraduate or undergrad university program, or 3 to 4 year college program - and if you don't have the cash, loan sharks in India will distribute debt across the whole family for decades so one student can go . There us a very good documentary by an Indian filmmaker on the Canadian college/University recruitment drive in India and its consequences. Several of our colleges have student enrollments at over 70% of the entire student body, direct entry from India. Additional problems like grade inflation, different education standards, and outright fraud on ESL testing also mean that Indian students are not well prepared for school here. Many do not have enough English to succeed in their studies. They either need to spend for additional tutoring, take a qualifying year or two ESL (on top of the 3 or 4 program), or fail courses. Universities and colleges keep the tuition though. Honestly our colleges and universities are staying afloat because of Indian students. They're being treated like cash cows - and Indian recruiters are scamming the system, taking fees on their end with unsuspecting students getting falsified documents, or being told they passed their ESL when they didn't. It's a national disgrace. I'm a prof here, I've seen all of this firsthand. Your data may be correct, but the narrative you've constructed for it is not the real picture.

Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

I've heard about Alberta being this way. Went to Edmonton once and saw a number of POC there. The jobs were well paying too. At a motel I went to I saw an indian at the front desk and was surprised. It is colder there too. One girl I met said discrimination in Edmonton was less, so go figure.

big problem with the housing is also trudeau taking in so many immigrants and refugees before having enough available housing for everybody. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

Canada is definitely less segregated as a whole, especially Quebec. Parts of Toronto are starting to head towards US levels segregation though, mainly East Brampton (Indian) and Milliken (Chinese). But for every place like that, the Toronto area has dozens of neighbourhoods that are more diverse. Mississauga and North York are diverse throughout, as well as most of Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering, Milton, Downtown, even Richmond Hill and older parts of Brampton are pretty mixed.

I spent 10 years studying and working in Toronto, where in most of the neighborhoods I went I was the only non-Indian person. Now I live in Edmonton, where everywhere I go in my neighborhood I am pretty much the only non-Indian person as well. I work for a large pharmaceutical company, where most of the operations staff are also Indian, I am often the only non-Indian person at work too. Just keep it in mind.

Here is something - the south actually does integration better than the north in the U.S. Blacks are more likely to live in white neighborhoods in the south than they do in the north. Even historically. It is the same with other ethnicities such as Indian, Mexican, Arab, Caribbean who are actually far well integrated in southern cities than northern cities such as New York , chicago , philadelphia and so on

All the students featured have good enough English to land an IT job in India also. It is well known that everyone in IT goes onsite. Initial salary is around ₹30K/month. Most people cross ₹100K/month in about 3-5 years & there is no upper limit of how much you can earn. There are ways to settle abroad outside of these high-risk methods too. Look at how South Indians immigrate. There are no shortcuts to success. One has to toil...

It's a business, college & education, it's written on the wall. But no one wants to read. It's a status symbol aspiration. Western education system is making hay and keeping the sunshine alive. India is prosperous, we need to trust in the Indian system more than deceptive promises of life abroad. Flashy education degrees have little prospects, but deception succeeds. As an Indian I must say you can't perform or carry out your cultural things everywhere. Specially school, colleges & University. That knife(Kirpan) is a religion thing for Sikhs but you should take responsibility of your surroundings as well.

Well I am an Indian, according to me it’s the Sikh youths mistake, you just vilified your own religion by wearing kirpan because you know it is not allowed in USA yet you tried to be a hero.

I studied in Canada, but I disappointed by the racism in the professional world especially the well paying government jobs…it was like a syndicate where Chinese will push for a Chinese to be hired, whites do the same, Indians do the same…the rest of the other races like blacks, Iranians, Arabs etc you have to literally have to fight your way into the system…you have to prove and kiss peoples feet to get hired….I just packed my bags and left Canada..

Indian are usually sarcastically racist but if you are visiting India they will treat you like you are really special. They have a saying for this, they treat their guests pretty well. You might get some looks but Indians will never treat you like this Karen. Also isn't 1 in 5 doctors in USA an Indian, americans will have a health crisis if all these people decided to move back.
