I am sure Mr. Trudeau believes the immigration problem is due to Mr. Harper given he accepts no accountability for his actions. Even a 2x4 understands that if you vastly increase the demand for housing and Healthcare via unfettered immigration. Unfortunately Mr. Trudeau does not measure up to a 2x4. He tries to be the shining knight on a galloping steer coming to save the day. Yet the problems are due to his actions and inaction. Besides a total lack of integrity, he lacks self awareness. Yet he apologizes for everything except his continuing missteps and poor policies. What a putz.

Cultural Integration is the Priority, or else, it's nonetheless a Burden.

I love how immigration is sold to people as benefit and economic prosperity tool but ,... it costs something too .. including integration to society and other social costs for education and healthcare ... depends at what age and in what sectors you have the immigration. Why did you leave India in the first place? It is given that anybody taking the big step to immigrate from their homeland has to have very solid reasons. Indians immigrate because of economic reasons only. They have economically miserable lives in India. They are unhappy because of economic hardships and see a gloomy future for themselves and their children. But they are stupid to think that they can live in a foreign land without socially integrating with the society. They try to remain Indian in a non- Indian land. So what do you expect. They get frustrated and long to get back home. I say this to all Indians and Pakistanis. You people are too clannish. Stay home and don’t dilute host nation’s culture with yours.

When I migrated to Canada 30 years ago, this was a different country. This country could integrate foreigners without causing problems for the native people here. It was a moderate number of between 200 to 300 thousand for a population of 30 million The problem is that Canada has more people over 65 years old than young people, subtracting the number of born about 320 vs 220 who die every year, there would be no population growth that could pay for the retirements of the retired people and immigration in the correct numbers was something positive for the economy the problem is a broken immigration system too many without infrastructure and let me tell you a lot of them arrive and in less than a year they leave I think that Canada should not receive anyone anymore for the next 20 years until it fixes houses crisis

This makes me want to cry. Don't get me wrong, my family we are also immigrants, but we followed the legal system and integrated and contribute to this economy and its social services, for the past 23 years. The illegal activities in Canada are rampant and need to be fixed.

It’s simple, mass immigration dilutes the national culture with other cultures that don’t have the time, ability, desire or intention to adapt to the host culture. It effectively causes cultural ghettoing of society which lends itself very well to manipulation by the practitioners of ideologies that dislike traditional national identity and strong historical values. That is, liberal progressive ideologies. That’s in contrast with well-vetted, manageable, and highly controlled immigration from similar or adaptable cultures that increase the chance of successful integration, which is favoured by conservatives, as anyone with a gram of common sense can imagine.

Most of them do not care about Canada or integrating into the culture/society. They are here to extract as much as they can while providing as little as possible in return.

As an immigrant myself, but Canadian citizen. This mass migration that Trudeau has embarked on is part of their globalization agenda. The influx of low/non skilled people, that do not carry the same traditional Canadian values, is specifically designed to dilute the existing Canadian culture, and weaken the middle class, only to replace it with the elites globalist control. In the long run, not bringing in skilled workers that can positively impact and grow the economy will be very detrimental in the long run. Also, in speaking with many of these immigrants their allegiances and not with Canada, if you ask them if the are willing to join the armed forces to defend Canada, they say no. Hence, Canada is also importing ideologies that don't intend to integrate into our society. If you want to come to Canada, integrate or leave! There are also enough skilled and non-skilled workers, that are ready and able to work, it is visible - everywhere you go there are more and more homeless and out of work people.

I've come across numerous comments urging people to leave and not return. As a Muslim, I find the notion of immigrating to Western countries surprising. Our beliefs often clash with theirs, making integration a challenge that often requires compromising our principles. India brings a complete opposite religion, language and ideology to foreign countries. It’s the Indian the does not participate in community activities, and integrate into a true Canadian national identity. If rent in downtown Vancouver on the 25th floor is to expensive, maybe try moving to more rural communities in Canada, where costs are different in living. If you come from a poor punjab province in India whereas you’ve sold the farm to come , then don’t expect a downtown Toronto sky rise , 1500 square foot 17th floor underground heated parking, to be the dream destination of your vision. It’s comparable to moving from the punjab to downtown Delhi and expecting the same cost comparisons to the punjab. Unfortunately it’s not sad to see the Indian people go. Hopefully Canada will begin immigration of more cultural like minded people and more people that have religious alliances, than some completely opposite ideology than a Canadian nationalist.

The article claims that for decades, immigrants have fuelled Canada's ecomonic growth. Ok, but what about strengthening its culture, to ensure that in the long term, this country remains successful? No, from what i have seen, the breakneck rate of immigration has hollowed out Canada's culture. What I see around me are newcomers that are not being integrated, or that outright refuse to, or are openly hostile to the host culture. How any of these people believe that Canada can remain successful, and them also, as a result, is beyond me. To me, it seems obvious we need a pause and reset and I'm doubtful that this small decrease in applications will achieve anything.

It depends on ur priority . I truly feel from development perspective of a child it’s much holistic and less harsh. Depending on capability ppl admit in private schools for more rigorous and methodical education. Public schools vary based on ratings, hence ppl select house based on school district .\nSecondly I personally felt a lot of shift in my mental health. While u have to do everything by urself it gets integrated with ur lifestyle and u learn to function parallely or sequentially. A good part I feel rather than supervising maids and doing khich khich it’s way easier to do the job on ur own.\nHere the mental health is much better, ppl care about family life , ppl care about values and respect to each other. Bcz everyone is treated at same level be it a doctor or construction worker u learn not o take ppl for granted .\nIn terms of value system, wellness here it’s much much advanced and focused , so is for child care and development .\nBut yes in the scenario today’s global ?coming u can’t come here without proper job if u r not in ur early 20s to mid 20s when u r mostly experimenting with life .

A fair amount I have met have completed their degrees but are staying here in order to obtain Canadian Citizenship and of course our passport. Many of them will then leave here but they will be carrying a passport which is still usually well regarded abroad.\n\nEither that or they stay here and import the rest of their family, where they can continue to live as if they were still in their country of origin, but in better conditions. Immigrant here. Way too many students brought in, in a short span of time. Exploited by the government, colleges and greedy landlords. The impact on middle class nieghbourhoods has been horrible, so many more cars, 12 people in a house, coming and going at all hours, reckless driving - NOT wanting to integrate or learn English even. The impact on cities is a huge unmeasured burden to the infrastructure: garbage, parking, roadways, demands on healthcare, insurance premiums etc…. What a complete mess Trudeau has done. Immigration is less integral to the economy than we think. A trivial increase GDP growth wage growth, is meaningless when housing costs can go up 20% per year. Even other costs are going up because retailers rent is so damn high. I have a family member who is dying because of healthcare backlogs and i have untreated injuries right now because the doctor told me it would be a 6 month wait for a cat scan. Im scared for the future, but at least they gave us MAID .

The example used should have been somewhere like Conestoga, which has become an absolute diploma-mill, basically selling residency. The impact on local communities has been ridiculous and many of those students are competing for local working class jobs. Remove the residency ability and the number of students will collapse, that is what is needed. If the institutions can't prove that they can house the students they should not be allowed to bring them in. If some of these diploma-mills go bust, good. We should be putting a break on immigration anyway, to give Canada a break to integrate the millions and millions that have come in in the past two decades.

We all like to push this narrative about how wonderful multiculturism is, but is it actually a good thing, or are we simply saying this cos we want to sound very open minded and inclusive? \n\nCountries need to retain their own identity. So if we want to move abroad, we should be willing to integrate in to their society (even if we do have some different beliefs from them in other ways). Moving to another country, not integrating and just hanging out with people from your own country isn't really good for anyone. We just create divides within that society and thus become more detached and distant from one another. \n\nAlso, living in high rise buildings seems quite dehumanizing to me. Sure, it must be cool to have a good view, but that's not how humans should live and exist- stacking thousands of people on top of one another.
