There are 2 reasons behind bringing in so many international students. \n1. Greed of universities and colleges so they can charge them an exorbitant amount of fees and make billions. (International Students pay 3 times the fees compared to a canadian citizen) \n2. Prop up the prices of the real estate market which is already in a bubble to avoid prices from collapsing.

If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. Why is the government not building new cities in Canada, if this is done, it works to operate all sectors within the country, which improves the chances of buying homes at a reasonable price and creates new jobs.. The Canadian government has many possibilities to do this, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it is working to exploit the vast spaces in the country .. Therefore, the government is working to reduce taxes and encourage and support small businesses and projects .. Someone should let them know that so called better life is not waiting for them in Canada at least. The problem with here is also with Khalistan issue (of course not all Punjabis there want Khalistan and are absolutely chill people and people here in India, Punjabis, also don't want Khalistan, I have some close friends who are Sikh and are most Dildaar, Big-hearted, people I know). As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

Family helps each other out, those Indians would do anything to keep a family member from living in the streets. This would put their family in shame in their community. Canadians have something to learn from the Indians. By the way their religion disapproves of alcohol & drugs so they don’t have that problem. Canada like many countries who came out fairly unscathed from COVID are facing the same dilemma, they didn't get the massive economical bounce back and the momentum that went with it like many countries who were devastated by COVID. If you look at the data between Canadian household income compared to the US, excluding the top ten percent since the US has much more income inequality than Canada, you will see that most Canadian are doing much better than their American neighbours. And on top of that, we have safer streets, healthcare, longer lifespan and better public education system. What we are missing is more leadership structuring our economy rather than completely being depended on the free market. They are managing the economy rather than facilitating more growth, none of the Canadian political parties seems to truly be engaged with that. We are not the US, we do not have the population to grow a service economy like they do, which has a compounding effect on their economy. We need a more focused approach to managing our resources, including human resource, which requires some planning on the economic side.

It might look like Canada has a lot of land but this land is owned and even other canadians cannot afford to live here. If a fourth generation canadian cannot get a job, then why should another country come here. We are trying to get our education system to improve and we cannot do that if there are so many people who have a better education from another country. we cannot afford to do this. Canadian life includes Canadian culture, we do not want to learn your culture, as we were born here. if you want to come here, you need to learn canadian culture.

Canadians and other nationality look around your neighborhood every Canadian Bank hires them because the Manager is East Indians. About one week ago I asked a Manager in that location why there are so many of his staff one nationality and not a mixed of other nationality he could not explain himself. Many customers in the line up asked the same question. The Manager is Indian and 99-9% is jndian. I asked myself and to others if Pierre Trudeau was alive today this would never happen. Many of these individuals, including myself, end up leaving. \n \nSome leave because of systemic issues in the PR system, which often prioritizes candidates with limited skills or questionable credentials over highly qualified individuals who have lived, studied, and worked in Canada for 5+ years. Others leave due to the high cost of living, challenges in accessing healthcare, or instability in the job market. \n \nThroughout my time in Canada, I’ve met genuinely kind and hardworking Canadians who are understandably frustrated with the current state of affairs. The policies implemented by this government have created significant challenges that may take years to resolve. Unfortunately, this risks leaving Canada with a workforce ill-equipped to meet future demands, while losing both talented Canadians and highly skilled immigrants who could have been integral to the country’s progress.

First of all Canada and America are European colonization countries. I work as an employment counselor and many asylum seekers (from Haiti, Guinea, Nigeria, Ghana, Algeria, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Senegal, etc.) come to my office (on average 15 per week). I've lived here all my life, and live about 7km's from the house I was brought home as a baby, so I've never left this city, and I, like that gentleman and lady you talked to, often feel like I am the only Caucasian in Surrey! Go by any elementary school, and you'd find it difficult to see any hair colour than straight black! Like when I went to school, so many now are driven to school by parents or grandparents that where brought over to Canada as well, so traffic around schools very often is chaotic at best! The once peaceful sound of birds singing, is now taken up with sirens, from ambulance and fire trucks, it's hideous! I too would love to move, but we keep asking, 'where'...as we'd like to be in an area with just caucasians, to feel 'at home' again! It's not that I don't like the people, but most in Surrey, are much more well off than the average Canadian, driving high end cars, and even their teenage kids have high end vehicles. So, like many Canadians, I'd just like to see normalcy & common sense once again, and a complete end to immigration, until ALL of our crisis's are taken care of!

See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. We made the place dirty, uncivilized behaviour and the list is long. This is happening in Canada too. Canadians identify everyone as Indians but the major problem they have is with Khalistanis. I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada.
